Arrived on time at 9:00 AM. We had covered cabinets and refrigerator with tarps and one doorway. Worker brought one piece of flimsy plastic to seal off other doorway. He tore down the ceiling area of 3 1/2 x 5 1/2 feet where the bathroom drain pipe was leaking and causing water damage to the ceiling. My husband helped him with the cleanup and my husband disposed of all the debris. This was at about 1 pm. The worker offered to call a plumber and waited for the plumber to arrive, which was about 1:30 PM. The worker stayed the whole time the plumber was here, approx. 45 min to an hour and they both left shortly before 3 pm after the plumber said he could repair the plumbing for an estimate of 6 to 7 thousand dollars. So we had never received an estimate for the tear out and were surprised when we received the bill in November for $300.00. We thought it was high and it needs work done on it before it can have replacement Sheetrock because the worker left an irregular edge all the way around the perimeter so that the new Sheetrock cannot be abutted against it without us having to make another big mess by cutting out more lath and plaster and Sheetrock to have a clean straight line. Very poor workmanship. I can send photos. Also, he left all of the nails hanging down from the floor joists that my 70 year old husband had to get up on the ladder and remove. After reading reviews, we chose Jameson because of what we read. We aren't happy and think at the very least, someone more skilled needs to come out and clean up these edges at no charge so that we can have another company finish the job.
Description of Work: Tore out a 5 1/2 x 3 1/2 foot area of lath and plaster ceiling covered by Sheetrock .

Response from Jameson Remodeling & Home Repair
The members husband called on the morning 10/13/2014 and left a message (which I have on file) stating he had a tub drain line in his upstairs bathroom into the ceiling below. I called him back and made arrangements to meet with him that afternoon. When I arrived the homeowner lead me to the kitchen where he showed me a ceiling which was sagging, near collapse, and there was a large bucket underneath the area to catch the water, and the homeowner said they had been unable to use the bath upstairs for several days. He showed me the area he thought the leak was coming from and mentioned a friend had done some repairs before but was not sure they would work on it again. I informed him I could not do the plumbing repair and suggested he call Mel at Water Works Plumbing. He asked if I could remove the damaged area of the ceiling and I said I could have someone over the next morning to remove the ceiling. During my visit the husband wife called and they had a somewhat tense conversation about the what needed to be done. The husband then asked me to proceed with the ceiling removal as soon as possible. The homeowner also mentioned he might want me to repair the ceiling after the plumbing work was completed and would call me if that need arose. The worker arrived at 9AM 10/14/2014 the next morning and left by 1PM. He removed the saturated damaged ceiling area which consisted of a layer of gypsum wall board faced over a layer of plaster and lathe. The damaged area was taken out to to 2 wall edges, a wallboard seam and 1 one straight cut. The worker stayed with the homeowner until the plumber arrived at 12:30 and looked at the area to confirm enough of the ceiling had been removed to perform the plumbing work. The worker mentioned later that the homeowner was a very pleasant man who had most everything tarped off when they arrived, that they had insisted on helping with the debris clean up and that they had been present in the room the entire time the work was being performed. The homeowner was invoiced on 10/26/2014, 13 days after the work was performed on for the ceiling removal in the amount of $300 and payment was received within 10 days without any complaint or question. On Thursday November 20, 2014 at 12:25 PM I received a very pleasant and non-urgent voice message (which I have on file) from the Husband requesting an estimate to repair the ceiling and requesting that I give them a call back. Our voice mail message states we will get with them as soon as possible, I try to get back with callers within 2 business days (Monday thru Friday). With the Thanksgiving Rush in full swing, 2 business days is the norm and the return call was scheduled for Monday November 24, 2014. .....and between November 20th and 24th the homeowners leave me a scathing review, and at no point during the 40 days from 10/13/2014 through 11/21/2014 had there been any mention of any problems or dissatisfaction.

I contacted Drew through Angie's list messaging one night around 8:00pm. He returned by email within an hour!! I didn't expect to hear anything until the morning. After chatting back and forth a few times, we agreed on a day at approximately 9:00am (I live in Liberty, far from his normal area, so I'm sure this was an approx. arrival time due to the distance/traffic). Kid you not, he arrived at 9:01! Right away he asked what we wanted to do first. I made a list priority items, and had all the materials laid out for him. He hung our garage bike racks in 20 mins. Next was the new door bell-- 5 minutes. Next was the new deadbolt--10 minutes. Drew was super fast. If he needed to go to his truck to get something, he hustled. Time was not wasted. Less than an hour into the 2 hour time he finished all the projected I truly needed to be completed. We chatted a few minutes, before we decided to hang some shelves inside the house. He placed them on the wall to see if I liked them in that spot, we moved them a couple spots, and Drew remained patient the whole time. When he hung the shelves into our studs, Drew had the appropriate materials in his tool kit. After the shelves we had about 30 minutes left. He asked "what else?". I had my husband's taxidermy deer to hang. He hung that in another 5 minutes! I had NO complaints about Drew. It was easy. He makes those simple projects that you've been putting off very fast, fun, and relaxed. As he completed his projects, we talked. I could tell he's knowledgable in many other areas of house projects too. I will hire him again! Thanks Drew!
Description of Work: Drew Jameson came to my house to hang shelves, install a new deadbolt, install a new doorbell, and more, for 2 hours of handyman services.

Provider did respond promptly to e-mail, contacted my husband to set time for assessing needed repairs on a house we are preparing for sale; we have already moved out. Promised an estimate which he never provided so -- 8 days later when checking e-mail for this promised estimate and intending to contact him if it was not yet received, I find he had that day sent an e-mail to us that day simply stating he would not be able to do our work as he had a large deck project which, he wrote, he explained to my husband when they met. I checked with my husband and nothing had been said by Mr Jameson about any other large possible pending project. Now Mr Jameson tells us he will be busy doing this other project and will not have time for our repair. It appears he either did not want to take on our repair project which mainly consisted of drywall crack repair and ceiling painting (I think this because he did not offer any time element as to how long his new large project will take), OR that we were put on a back burner as he hoped to get an ok for a more lucrative deal. It had been explained to Mr Jameson that time was of the essence for us as we must get repairs done so the house can be put on the market. This has not been a good Angie's List experience and we have lost over another week, as we had depended on Mr Jameson's word to get an estimate to us.

The member initially contacted me the week of Memorial Day weekend, which is a National Holiday and 3 day weekend, if you are closed Friday as I was it was a 4 day weekend. The husband contacted me through by phone on the 8/24/2014 and we scheduled an appointment. Later the wife contacted me through the Angies List Message Center and I responded to her to inquiry that I had spoken to her husband on the phone earlier and had tentatively set up an appointment with him for Thursday 8/28/2014 at 9AM. I met with the Husband on Thursday 8/28/2014 at 9AM, he took me through the house, show me all the problems with the drywall due to the foundation work, he explained they needed to get the house on the market, he wanted to know how soon we could start and I told him my ability to do the job would depend on where we were with existing jobs and whether or not we pending deck job for 9/15 remained on schedule. 4 business days later on 9/5/2014 I sent the member a message through the Angies List Message Center and informed the member that the deck job had come though and that I would not be able to assist them with their project.

He did excellent work. He showed up on time and completed the jobs in a timely fashion. Very professional, knew what he was doing, especially on an old house. He even offered ideas on window replacements that would save us money. He cleaned up the debris and swept out our "entire" garage after the installation of the lights. We will definitely keep him on speed dial!
Description of Work: Drew Jameson installed two 4.5 foot lights in the garage and repaired a couple of towel bars and a toilet paper holder that had come off the wall. None of the work was simple because he was working on a 100+ year old house, lathe and plaster as well as dry wall.

Drew was very responsive, I appreciate good communication. He was flexible and scheduled a time to visit and provide me an estimate. Once we discussed the project, he said he would get back with me and let me know when he could work me into his schedule. He was able to start sooner (within a week) than expected which was much appreciated. He called to let me know he'd be working at my house and arrived that day as committed. The work required multiple visits and each time he notified me he'd be working, he arrived and work was completed. Drew was professional and polite and I'd definitely use him again if needed.

The work was completed in a professional and friendly manner within the time estimated. The work continued even with intermittent rain showers. They showed me how previous shingle repair attempts by others had failed and why. I would have no hesitation about having them do other repair and/or remodeling work in my home..

Drew is always great - reasonable prices, fast response time, and always a great job. I've always felt a bit guilty when I phoned for something minor instead of a major remodeling project. However, yesterday he told me he'd prefer smaller projects so now he'll definitely be my go-to guy for everything. If he's not interested then I'll seek someone else from the list.

After searching the internet and local hardware stores for drawer hardware, I called Drew. He came and looked at my problem. The way the drawers are made, drawer slides of a different design will not work. I told him the cabinets were in good enough shape that I would like them repaired, but if that was not possible, I wanted them replaced. He carefully measured all three vanities. He then checked into new cabinet replacement but also searched for the exact drawer slides needed to repair the existing vanity drawers. Quality new cabinet replacement was going to run into thousands of dollars. Drew located and purchased the exact drawer slides that I needed. He carefully installed all 15 slides, custom cutting each to properly fit each drawer. The drawers now work perfectly. His time for checking into and estimating the cost of replacement cabinets in addition to his time in locating and installing all 15 drawer slides came to a total of $500.
Description of Work: I have three 45-year old bathroom vanity cabinets which are in decent condition except the drawers come off the the tracks when opening and closing and become lodged. The particular drawer slides needed for these cabinets are outdated and difficult to locate. I could not find them in local hardware stores or online. Drew found them and installed them and the drawers work really, really well now.
