Drew called to start the project as soon as the windows came in. He had most of the project completed in 2 weeks. He was at our home on time everyday that it wasn't raining and worked the whole day through. At the end of each day, he would clean up his work area and vacuum any debris that was left on the floor. He left our home as neat as when he arrived. If we asked any questions or needed any information, Drew was always pleasant and willing to answer and offer helpful tips. He did window replacement, he repaired wood rot, cleaned out ant damage on window ledges, and did skilled carpentry work. My husband and I were impressed with his general handy man knowledge, his dependability and his strong work ethic. We have a bathroom remodeling job that we will be calling him about next year.
Description of Work: We called Drew Jameson for an estimate on repairing some wood rot on window sills and on outside wood on our windows and basement door. Drew responded with an in person visit to give us an estimate. He spent quite a bit of time looking over our window sills on both floors of our home and went outside to check the wood repair we needed. Drew told us that it would be necessary for us to replace several windows in order to get rid of the wood rot. He told us he could order the windows and start the project in 3 to 4 weeks. Weather permitting, he would finish as quickly as possible. He would be able to paint everything after he was through. We felt that his estimate was a fair price.

The day of the appointment it was raining. Drew arrive a little late (traffic) and was unable to look at the areas in need of repair due to the rain. He requested $50 for the visit and said we would receive a quote in a few days. We were not told in advance that there would be a charge for the estimate, so this was a surprise. A few days later we received a "standard charge" quote, $XX to replace brick mold, etc. It was helpful, but we still didn't know how much the job would cost. We decided to look for a different repair company.

ON THE DAY OF THE APPOINTMENT, IT WAS RAINING. I WAS TIED UP IN TRAFFIC AND RUNNING LATE. THE MEMBER WAS CALLED TO NOTIFY THEM I WAS RUNNING LATE. THE MEMBER WHO I WAS MEETING WITH ARRIVED 10 TO 15 MINUTES AFTER MY ARRIVAL. THE MEMBER AND MYSELF WERE IN AGREEMENT THAT IT WAS NOT A GOOD DAY TO CLIMB LADDERS AND TRAIPSE THROUGH THE HOUSE WITH WET FEET. THE MEMBER AND I WENT AROUND THE HOUSE TO GET A GLIMPSE OF THE ISSUES WITH HIS WINDOWS. AT THE TIME THE MEMBER WANTED A GENERAL IDEA OF THE COST ENTAILED, THE MATERIALS INVOLVED AND THE SERVICES I WOULD PROVIDE. THE MEMBER PAID THE $50 ESTIMATE FEE AGREEABLY AND WITHOUT HESITATION. WHETHER HE WAS INFORMED PRIOR TO THE VISIT I DO NOT REMEMBER, BUT GENERALLY SPEAKING WHEN AN ESTIMATE CHARGE IS INVOLVED, I INQUIRE AS TO WHETHER OR NOT THE CUSTOMER WAS AWARE. THAT SAID, I PROVIDED THE MEMBER AN ESTIMATE ON 6/7/2007 THAT DETAILED THE PER WINDOW PRICE BASED ON THE COMPONENTS INVOLVED IN THE REPLACEMENT, THE SERVICES INCLUDED IN THAT PRICE AND A DETAIL OF THE MATERIALS THAT WOULD BE USED. LAST BUT NOT LEAST, THE MEMBER WAS OFFERED THE OPPORTUNITY TO HAVE ME RETURN ON A DRY DAY. THIS WAS OFFERED VERBALLY BEFORE I LEFT THAT RAINY DAY AND IN WRITING AS STATED ON THE QUOTATION THE MEMBER RECEIVED.

Excellent. We had a miscommunication re. the dryer vent - I wanted metal venting all the way to the wall but it was only half metal, the rest was the flexible plastic. Since everything important was done beautifully & professionally (and I was moving and the price was right for all they had done) it didn't really matter. I was very happy with the look of everything. The wall oven installation was perfect for such an odd sized opening.
Description of Work: I had several things done to get ready to sell my home. Drew measured for a wall oven to fit into an unusual space and the oven I ordered fit perfectly. Drew & his crew had to install a gas line for it & they put it in. It's beautiful! They also vented the dryer to the outside (the hole was already cut in the wall for it) and replaced kitchen tiles that I had to take off for a new range hood. Professional. Came when they said they would. The jobs were done well. It was incredibly helpful that they could do large AND small jobs!

The whole experience was very positive. Drew came to our home the day after we called him to look at our projects. We received his estimate right away (late May) and discovered he was booked until mid July. He does all the work mainly by himself and has lots of customers, so plan ahead! He was punctual, clean, professional, articulate, and knowledgeable. When he arrived he had already planned which project to work on first and how to get it done. He cleaned up the area when finished, removed all the trash and carried the old sink outside for us. The fence/gate project looked great. Again, he left the area clean.
Description of Work: Drew did two projects for us. He removed the existing bathroom sink and installed our new vanity cabinet/sink with new faucets. On the second project he repaired our picket fence and built a new gate. He took initiative in each project with a know-how to get the projects done. Drew did a great job.

Drew responded promptly after my call for an estimate. He came to my house, assessed the damage and gave me a verbal estimate. I requested the estimate in writing, which he sent to me by e-mail. It was about a month from the time I received the estimate to when the work was scheduled to be done. He was busy and I was willing to wait until he was available. Drew finished the job in two days. He also cleaned up the area each time he worked in my house. After the job was done, he sent an e-mail advising me how to prepare the wall for painting. Since I had painted the walls a year ago, I decided to do the painting myself. Drew runs his business very professionally and is pleasant to work with.

Would not recommend this remodeling company. See above.
Description of Work: Provided a timely and reasonable quote to remodel our fireplace. Estimated to begin in approximately 6 weeks depending on weather. We postponed getting carpet that was purchased installed and Jameson Remodeling canceled after 6 weeks believing the whole time they were going to keep their word and perform the fireplace remodel and told us they were not going to perform the work they promised supposedly due to lack of staff. They did return the $50.00 deposit, but left us hanging. We called them to check on our job status on a regular basis during the 6 weeks and told them we would provide a key to our home and they could work us in anytime in the daytime, night time or weekends.

Excellent. Not only is the ugly 70s era vinyl floor gone but I have beautiful black tile in its place. It is a very awkwardly shaped room with a very narrow door that leads out onto a narrow hallway. They went out of their way to save the bureau that serves as the base of my sink (which was obviously put together in the bathroom as it was quite difficult to get through the door even after Drew removed the door and the trim around the door). Though this was a very time consuming and, I'm sure, very frustrating task, it was very important to us to not replace the piece and so Drew made it happen. Because of the poor condition of the flooring, a lot of of water had gotten underneath it and gave the bathroom floor an almost squishy feeling. I now have a solid, beautiful bathroom floor. It feels like an entirely new bathroom and we could not be happier with the finished product.

I was not shown the fixtures or the tile before they were installed. I was told by Drew that he would try to match the fixtures to the crossbar fixtures on the bathroom sink, they do not match at all, though I don't dislike them. The tile that was replaced does not match in color or finish (it is high gloss-the rest of the old tile is satin finished). I was never offered a viewing of the color swatches, just told when they were ordered and when they had arrived (Feb 5th and Feb 14th). He did tell me he would have a hard time matching the color, though had I seen the tile ahead of time, I would have given a lot more consideration remodeling the entire bathroom. Over the past three days, the bathtub fixtures have been leaking-a pretty steady drip, and they are only only three months old. I have had them repaired and there was soldering in the faucet that had to be cleaned out to stop the leak. At least the re-grout looks okay. I'm not impressed with this job.
Description of Work: In my 1944 pink and maroon tile bathroom, I need an area re-tiled behind the bathtub fixtures. All shower area tile needed to be re-grouted. I also agreed to new bathtub fixtures and backer board replacement. I live in a more urban area of the city. Work was started on January 29th. On February 19th, I came home to find my front door left unlocked. I was told the project would take four days initially,it took more like two weeks.

The repair work involved the use of epoxy in some locations, which meant that the repairs had to be delayed a month or two for warmer weather necessary for the epoxy to work appropriately. True to his word, once the weather warmed, Drew arrived, and he and a colleague performed the work within a couple of days. They also repaired some minor wood rot in another area of the house that I discovered after the original call. After the work was completed, I noticed that the drain pipes were not attached to the house at the area of the repair, and the same day I called to Jameson to point this out, someone was out and fixed the issue. The $150 off coupon from Angie's List was applied to my invoice. Jameson did an excellent job. I highly recommend them and would use them again.
Description of Work: Old termite damage was discovered under the fascia boards on the side of the house as those boards were in bad shape and needed to be replaced. The original contractor performing this work indicated that he did not have sufficient experience to perform the repairs and that I would need to find someone else. I joined Angie's List that afternoon and identified Jameson as a reputable contractor. Drew Jameson arrived at the house within hours of the call, quickly assessed the situation and put us at ease that the issue was primarily cosmetic and could be repaired in a reasonable manner. Within a few days, I had a written bid for the work and asked Jameson to perform the work.

It took a while to get an estimate (Drew is awfully busy). When Drew arrived, he 1) gave us good advice about our basement, 2) gave us an estimate promptly, and 3) responded promptly to our changes with a revised estimate. He 1) scheduled the work promptly, 2)arrived on schedule, and 3)finished on schedule. I would not hesitate to use him again and in fact I am for another project. We felt Drew's pricing was very fair, and competitive with the other bids we got. It was a little hard to tell because not all bids were "apples-to-apples." But for the quality of materials and workmanship we got, the pricing was very good.
Description of Work: Basement remodeling as follows, installed about 150 feet of drywall $1,750, installed fiberboard baseboard, $665, installed chair rail, $1,200, reattach 40 feet 1/4" wood paneling, $1,500.

THE MEMBER HAD PREVIOUSLY HAD SOME FOUNDATION WORK PERFORMED TO CORRECT A WATER PROBLEM WHICH REQUIRED THE REMOVAL OF THE LOWER 4FT. OF DRYWALL AND SEVERELY BUCKLED 8 TO 10 PIECES OF WOOD PANELING. AS A PRECAUTION WE INSTALLED DENSARMOUR PLUS MOISTURE/MILDEW/MOLD RESISTANT PAPERLESS DRYWALL. WE REMOVED THE BUCKLES FROM THE BUCKLED PANELING, INSTALLED NEW BASEBOARD AND HIGHLIGHTED IT ALL WITH 2 5/8" CHAIR RAIL. THE BEST PART OF THIS JOB....I AM WORKING LATE SATURDAY, I HEAR SOME FOOT STEPS UPSTAIRS, A DOOR OPENS AND SOMEONES SAYS 'IS THAT YOU DREW, WHAT ARE YOU DOING WORKING ON A SATURDAY?' IT WAS THE MEMBER. SHE THEN INQUIRED 'HOW DOES IT LOOK? I ASKED HER COME DOWN AND TELL ME WHAT IT LOOKED LIKE. SHE CAME DOWN, GLANCED AROUND, RAN HER HAND DOWN THE CHAIR RAIL AND AFTER A MOMENT OF SILENCE UTTERED 'OH MY GOD IT IS BEAUTIFUL.'

I sought a bid from this company because of the number of superlative reports it has received. I talked to the receptionist on two successive Mondays asking for someone to come by to give me a bid. The work was all outside, so I was told I didnt need to be there. On both occasions, she assured me someone would be by some time that week. When no one called nor did I receive a bid, I called a third time and left a message. No one returned it, so I chose a company that did give me a bid.

At first, it went well. I would have liked to have had an estimate from Jameson. I think they would have done a good job.
Description of Work: Jameson came to home to perform estimate. Said he would get back to me with written estimate. After waiting a week for written estimate, I called their office and spoke to someone at their office. She informed Mr. Jameson was working hard on my estimate to get it right. I received a letter from Jameson 19 days after visiting my home informing that time commitments did not permit their company to take the job. Why it took them 19 days to decide they could not give me an estimate after they said they were working on an estimate is certainly indicative of someone who is unreliable, in my opinion.

IT IS UNFORTUNATE THAT WE DIDN'T MEET HIS EXPECTATIONS, BUT HE WAS AWARE FROM THE BEGINNING THAT WE WERE WAY BEHIND, AND WAS INFORMED BOTH BY MYSELF AND MY ASSISTANT. HE EVEN THANKED ME FOR FITTING HIM INTO AN EARLIER APPOINTMENT. WHEN THE SMOKE CLEARED, WE FELT THAT DUE TO PRIOR COMMITMENTS, THE SEVERITY OF THE DAMAGE INVOLVED AND SOME MISSING, YET CRUCIAL INPUT FROM HIS SPOUSE (WHO WAS NOT PRESENT) REGARDING WINDOW/TRIM APPEARANCE AND THE DISLIKE OF THE NEIGHBORS WINDOWS WE COULD NOT PROVIDE THE SERVICE NEEDED IN A ACCEPTABLE TIME FRAME. UNDER NORMAL CIRCUMSTANCES I TRY GETTING MY ESTIMATES OR RESPONSES BACK TO THE CUSTOMER IN 5 TO 7 DAYS. I LIKE MY CUSTOMERS TO HEAR A REAL VOICE WHEN THEY CALL AND SCHEDULE THEIR APPOINTMENTS ON THE SPOT. WHICH IS WHY I HIRED AN ASSISTANT. UNFORTUNATELY HE GOT CAUGHT IN THE TRANSITION.

Within fifteen minutes of talking with Drew, he was at my home to work on the problem. I was very impressed with the thoroughness of the inspection. All possibilities were examined to help determine the location and nature of the leak. The book shelf was removed quickly and carefully. The leak was fixed promptly and effectively. The price was very reasonable. I have since recommended him to another friend. I would definitely use his services again in the future.

Drew was slow on coming out to look at the job, but once there, estimate was timely, we worked out details and the install went as planned. Drew did find a window that was scratched during shipment and had to order a replacement. After the replacement came in, Drew waited for good weather before installing the replacement window. The wood rot repair and facet replacement was done as agreed. We are well satisfied with the job. Drew does what he says and follows up.

Very well. Drew was very prompt in responding to my initial inquiry and established a plan with estimate. Unfortunately, work was delayed due to personal/professional issues, though I was not in a rush to get my work done. Once work began he was very quick. The original wooden porch was removed to reveal a very decrepit concrete porch below, Jameson does not do this type of work but referred me to several who did (some through Angie's List). During the interim he assured my exposed porch was fully covered/shielded from rain that could have easily drained into my basement. Once I had the concrete work completed, Drew did the finishing touches by adding new wooden posts, and replacing exposed areas of siding. All work was fully trimmed and painted to my satisfaction.

Our windows have been repaired over and over with several people before Drew. He was the first one to do the job correctly. I first had him here to check out a water leak in our study. It was a problem that we have been dealing with for over ten years. He was able to determine the cause and remedy it. He then moved on to our windows. We are thrilled to have had the work completed by him.
Description of Work: Drew has been doing work for us for a couple of years now. He is a plumber, remodels homes, and has put in about 15 new windows as well as repaired many others. He has also repaired the stucco around the windows. It is an ongoing job and there is still more to go. He is a wonderful person to have for any job.
