A rep from APEX came thru our neighborhood looking for "model homes". We agreed to hear the pitch and a sales rep came out several days later. His presentation was short, to the point, and informative. We were told that we would recieve the model home discount as long as we monitored our energy bills and allowed a sign to be placed in our yard. The price was reasonable compared to what we were quoted from other companies, so we agreed. Once the windows were manufactured an install crew was scheduled. We had no issues with install (except for a minor accident involving a ladder and one of the installers, just a few bumps and bruises) and it was completed within the quoted time frame. We were never contacted again about our particpation in the "model home" program (we felt that this was just a sales pitch from the beggining). Overall the price was consistent with other manufacturers offering similar grades, the install process was painless, and the look of the new windows was excellent.

This was a good experience. I would hire them again.

They were wonderful. I loved them. They did everything I asked and did a wonderful job. We could not be more pleased and would absolutely use them again.

One of the windows that they isntalled has a crack in it. Someone is going to come out and look at it. The experience was very good. They don't have their own installers, but they hire someone to come and install them. The installers were wonderful and clean. They cleaned up after themselves every day. They did a really good job. The only criticism that I would have is that they don't have a quality control system in place to automatically contact you to see if everything was o.k. Once you sign the contract then the installing company takes over.

It worked out well. The windows were of good quality and the price was very reasonable compared to other companies. We were very happy with them.

We were very pleased with them. The guy who came out to our home and explained everything to us was great. The guys that installed the windows were great. There were a couple of issues with the grids in the windows and they got everything taken care of. As soon as we let them know they started working on it and they did the replacement that they needed too.

Overall, the experience was very good. It was a two-day process. One window was installed and cracked the next day. They were very good about coming out and replacing the window within two weeks.

We were very happy with the windows that were installed and also with the installers. The price charged by them was competitive as well. We liked the product itself, as it was energy efficient and they are very attractive. The crew that came out was very neat and professional. It was nice to have them here and I felt very comfortable having them here. I would recommend them and everything was fine. I would use their services in the future.

They were terrific. They were highly professional. They did all of the work in a little bit more than a day. They were very considerate of me and they were helpful while they were out. I would recommend them and give them four stars.

They were very professional and had excellent workman who installed the windows. They were careful, very clean and they were extremely quick in taking the old out and putting the new windows in.

I have NO complaint about the quality of the product -- the Alside windows are energy efficient and good looking. Also, most of the time the installers did a good job -- some better that others, and some more professional than others -- but the head of the crew was very helpful, efficient and professional. My problem is with the sales people and the office staff. After the initial contract was signed, it was like the sales people disappeared. At NO time did anyone (installers or salesmen) ever arrive at the time (or even the day!) they (in the office staff) said they would. Telephone calls and emails were almost never answered. The installers and I spent 2 whole days waiting for a salesman to arrive to settle some questions that had come up about whether or not he (the salesman) had ordered the correct product. The window installers were the people who mentioned this potential problem to me -- so I assumed the company would try to come to some solution in a timely fashion, since their own people were the ones bringing up the issue. But things did not work out very well. In short, a "one week installation" job dragged out into a 2 month experience of frustration and broken promises. I would advise people to stay away from this company -- although, as I say, the windows themselves are for the most part a good product. Just buy them and get them installed by someone else.

We were absolutely shocked at what a good job they did, how wonderful the windows are and the price! We had no intention on replacing the windows as we had other quotes and thought it was quite expensive. They provided us with a deal that we took advantage of, and we were just thrilled! I had no idea how bad my windows were until I had these new ones installed - they are fabulous! Everything they promised us, and the clean up with installation was true. We had one screen that didn't fit, they ordered a new screen, came out and promptly replaced it. I would definitely recommend them!

They didn?t get the windows finished at the time they said they would. By the time they were finished, I was out of town on vacation. I told them I would have them install the windows when I returned, but I wanted it to be in warm weather, not the middle of winter which is when they wanted to do it. We finally agreed on a date and they brought the windows out. They wouldn?t install them, even though they were on my premises unless I gave them a large deposit. I said I would pay for the windows in full once they were installed to my satisfaction. They wouldn?t agree to that. They sent me phony attorney letters threatening to take me to court if I didn?t pay for the windows. I knew that the contract I had signed didn?t require me to pay up front for the windows. I ignored their attorney letters and tired to work with them independently. They wouldn?t cooperate and eventually stopped returning my phone calls. I never got the windows. I wouldn?t work with them again in the future. I was afraid all of the upfront fees were a scam.

Randy Strand with Apex stopped by our home to introduce us to his company and sell us new windows. He was polite enough, however he made a false statement concerning their rating on Angie's List. He claimed the have 1000's of reports and they were all A's and as you can see, this is not the truth. Thank goodness for Angie's List or we might have concidered this company for new windows.

They had one person come out, and then someone else came out 10 minutes later. Their sales people did not seem to know that the other was going to be here, so there was clearly some miscommunication. It was difficult to get rid of him, and they continued to talk after they knew I was not interested. We ended up going with another company.

We are very happy with the service and the windows.

Overall went great. We had originally ordered 23 double hung windows and a picture window because we wanted to preserve original windows. Company consultant had suggested the sliders as a way to save money during his initial visit but we thought it would change the look of our home too much. Overall sales presentation did not feel like a sales pitch, consultant put facts forward as more of an educational process, mentioning each item once and leaving it as open discussion if we wished to revisit topics a 2nd time. Very refreshing as didn't feel like anything was being pushed onto us. After initial order, we took the opportunity to tour other homes with slider types of windows and decided to change our mind to switch a couple of double hung with picture window to a 3-lite slider. Contract was easily updated via email/phone and order arrived with no issues. Had installer come out and re-measure windows for accuracy, and he mentioned that extra wide double-hung we had planned would not fit and would be better to go with 2-lite slider which was a more expensive version. We discussed recommendation with consultant over the phone and because he had though double-hung would fit in wider opening okay, he gave us more expensive 2-lite slider at no additional cost without us asking. We were willing to pay the extra cost but he did the "right thing" anyway. We had read on previous reviews that some customers felt APEX did not stay in contact throughout manufacturing process. Believe this has been fixed as we received several follow-up phone calls and a postcard in the mail letting us know windows were on track and targeted delivery time. Delivery conflicted with planned vacation as manufacturing was completed 2-3 weeks ahead of schedule but installers were willing to work with us and delayed install by 1 week. Installation process was flawless. They had planned 2 days for installation as we had thought there might be some wood rot around some windows. However, no issues were found and windows "popped" in with a lot of ease and installation was finished in 1-day. Did a complete walk around and found excellent installation with no issues. Outside/inside were cleaned and didn't appear that anyone had been there doing work (if not for new windows). Installer demonstrated each type of window we had in how to open/shut and swing out for cleaning. He also gave us some tips on maintenance and initial cleaning of sticker residue. We've had no issues with windows in the first month and are loving them!

They were very understanding even though we didn't get any windows from them. They were very coureous.

A salesman came to my door and tried to convince me to take advantage of their "advertising special". I told him I wasn't sure and I'd talk to my husband. The salesman called me promptly the next night and I told him we decided we were not interested, in multiple windows but we had one bad window which they could give us an estimate on. He set up an appointment with someone to provide that estimate and I planned my very busy Friday around that appointment. The night before the appointment the person who was supposed to come, he called to confirm and in the discussion mentioned the advertising special for the whole house, or at least the front of the house. When I told him that we were not interested and I had already told the salesman that I only wanted an estimate on one window. He told me that they do not accept jobs of less than 8 windows. We cancelled the appointment. I really resent the fact that I planned my day around that appointment only to realize the sales person was just trying to manipulate us into buying something I had already told him I did not want. I had checked the company on Angie's List and the reports were basically all good but I ended up feeling that I was dealing with a shady operator.

Overall, this was an excellent experience. The salesman was very professional. He explained the product, warranty, installation process etc in excellent detail. He was very responsive to our calls for addtional information and when we needed to amend our initial order. From start to finish the response from the company was excellent. The installation was scheduled in advance and the installers came to do the work in time. They were courteous and their work was outstanding. They made sure that I knew what they were doing at each step of the installation and kept me informed throughout the job..

Very pleased. They even worked in the middle of a snow storm, they did a good job. They are good to do business with. I would highly recommend them.

Apex salesman stopped by house and gave good pitch. Said we would be special "entry-case-into-market" customers and would give us special price that would be at a good discount, but that we had to keep price he gave us secret. No one ever followed up after install (Apex or Apex customers), so not sure about this. Quality install and quality windows installed by Apex in April 2007. Still very satisfied with final product. However, during install they assumed all sliding glass doors same size. They weren't. Had to re-order that door. Came in wrong color trim and had to re-order again. Scheduling and communication not great during this. Also, after install, company did not remove glue/tape residue from all windows and doors after install (residue left from stickers, etc on windows from factory. Had to work for a year with variety of solvents and it has been a pain to get them clean of the sticky residue. I discovered water damage to sub flooring in July 2009 that might have been caused by a combination of previous water damage and or improper patio door insulation. I contacted the company and spoke with the then director of operations Greg Hudson. It took me 3 and half months to get out a sub contractor to come out and fix the installation error. After 7 months I was able to work with new director of operations Joe Hine. We were able to come to an agreement for water damage that possibly exacerbated by the installation.

We were thrilled with the product. The work crew was great and did the installation in the worst conditions of a snow storm. There was not a single thing that we asked that they did not address.

Excellent, they have done a great job on installation and clean up. Windows are very high quality, all triple-pane and very heat efficient. I can already tell the difference in the temperature in my home. I would absolutely have to recommend them, my experience was great.

It was an outstanding experience because of the quality of the windows and the professionalism with which they were installed. I would absolutely hire them again.
