A-1 Concrete Leveling & Foundation Repair

Was on time for the estimate and explained the process as well as answered all my questions. They came out to do the work per schedule. Work was done right with no mess.

They came when they said they would. Did what they said they would do At the price we agreed on. It was magic to watch those steps come out of the ground. I would not have believed it if I did not see it.

They leveled around the porch very well but they did not fill around the foundation well. The sidewalk has since sunk. They are taking their time on getting back out here to clean up their work. They answer the phone but they promise they would be here two weeks ago and they had to reschedule and since pushed back their appointments. I am going around and around with them.

A-1 Foundation Repair was the only company who provided service recommendations that matched the recommendations provided by a structural engineer I consulted. Other companies quoted far more than what was necessary, at a much higher cost. Ron also spent a lot of time describing why I was experiencing issues with my foundation. I found this very helpful. I could tell that every member of the team at A-1 took pride in their work. They went above and beyond to take care of all of the 'little' things. Dirt clods were removed from my grass, my driveway was swept, a gutter downspout was fixed, and an electrical line was repaired. It would have been easy for a company to skip these details, but I appreciated the 'above and beyond' effort provided by Ron's team. Overall I was very satisfied with the work performed and would highly recommend others use them.

I could not be more please with this company and the owner Ron. He kept his estimate appointment on time and gave me an estimate which was half of another company. He carefully explained what had to be done and he told me he would personally supervise the crew since there were electrical and telephone connections that had to be carefully hand dug around. He completed the work as scheduled and personally directed his crew and there were no problems. Ron is very professional, honest, and straight forward and his work is fairly priced. I could not give an company a higher recommendation. Great job overall.

I called A1 to get another estimate, and the owner, Mr. Bolden, came out to look at it and he said nothing would need to be done about it. He saved me $2,500.

It went very well. Even though there were unexpected difficulties due to the construction of the house, A-1 was able to do a great job. They were punctual, polite, and did a really good job of clean up. I had five other leveling companies come out and give estimates, but A-1 was by far the most impressive. I highly recommend them.

It took a while to get the appointment set for the estimate and then due to all self-performing work it took another 5 weeks before they could get to the job. Cold and snow since completion but the job seems to have corrected the issues.

They showed up on time, in fact a little early. They provided a clear estimate, and the office staff answered some of my questions when I called. They did a great job of leveling all of the needed areas, and also advised on some of the areas that they didn't recommend having repaired. I felt they were very honest and trustworthy. They accurately explained the process, and they were here almost all day to complete the job, and cleaned up entirely. We are very happy with the result. They offered me the Angie's list discount without me having to ask for it.

A crack appeared in the brick fascia on my garage, after last year's drought. I cleared the grout and tuck-pointed the affected area and waited. When the crack appeared larger this August, I knew a foundation repair was in order. I've had experience with repairing foundations on three three houses I purchased for renovation. I obtained four quotes. Indiana Foundation Service wanted over $6,000.00 to level the floor and repair the foundation. I believed the recommendation included too many push piers. I did not believe the pier system they quoted would last the life of the house. Accu-level and Ram Jack both wanted a little over $2,000 to install two piers. Their recommendations were in line with what I thought the repair would require, but I still needed to get the floor leveled. They both quoted helical piers, which are quality piers. I've used Accu-level three times (including my own house when a footer in the crawl space failed) I've been quite satisfied with their work. I contacted A-1 Concrete Leveling and Foundation Repair because I used them several years ago to level my concrete patio. Ron Bowen recommended installing two piers with 27" footers and pump limestone sludge under my garage floor pad (to level it) for $2,250. I anticipated spending $2,500- $2,750 on the project, ($500 on the floor leveling) as a repeat customer, Ron discounted the job, which brought him below Accu-level and Ram Jack, He had a lower price, a pier system with a national life-time guarantee and using him meant that I only needed to deal with one contractor, so Ron got the job. Even though it was part of their price, I prepared the site, as much as I could, before they arrived. I removed bushes, myrtle and top soil, I wanted to preserve. Ron and his crew arrived on time, I watched the entire process. When I asked questions, Ron answered each of them. His crew did a great job on the clean up afterward. I believe I got my money's worth. By the end of the afternoon, we had our bushes, myrtle and top soil installed. I completed the little bit of tuck pointing that was needed to make the the repair final. By 5:00 pm we were showered and enjoying a cocktail on a porch swing. A few neighbors stopped by, while enjoying their evening walk. They couldn't tell that we had a construction crew in for repairs..

The review is for the estimate. The concrete patio at the back of my house is falling in along with a chimney surround. I was not sure what my options were to repair it. The guy gave me a few options with an idea of the cost of each along with his recommendations. Then he described the repair. It is the estimate that we all prefer - diagnosis, options, and a recommendation. I have confidence that they will do a good job and will do a follow up review when complete.

Person who came to give the estimate was professional and knowledgeable. On the date of actual work, crew arrived on time, completed the work in little over an hour, cleaned up well, and overall did a very nice job.

A1 showed up in the time frame given. They leveled out all the slabs, including spending some extra time on one of the cracks which I noticed was slightly off (one side a tad higher than the other) so it could have an even fill. After completing everything, they spent the extra time to clean up & gave direct name and numbers in case I had any follow on questions. The crew was very professional and got the job done right -- the first time.

THe sidewalk end by the driveway went well, and was leveled fairly evenly. But the end of the sidewalk by the front stoop could not be raised to meet the bottom of the stoop. The worker said that there was something under the stoop that was preventing the sidewalk from being raised back to its original position. Although the gap was smaller between the sidewalk and the bottom of the stoop, it was still a couple of inches. The worker said that he could not pump any more of the mixture they use because it was coming out the sides and would cause the sidewalk to crack. They did work on this for over 3 hours, so I believed him. He did tell me how to caulk the gap before we had the sidewalk resurfaced. My husband did the caulking, and though it was not a professional job, after the sidewalk was resurfaced, you could not tell that there was any gap, and it looks fine.

They were great they did it all right the first time. They knew their job and were in and out in no time. They recommended someone who I called, and he was good as well.

Received an estimate for front porch that is coming away from the home. Very quick response time and happy with the customer service.
