A-1 Concrete Leveling & Foundation Repair

Company representatives were professional and responsive to customer requests. Representatives spent several minutes at each location cleaning up the mess. The work does require a water supply connection, and, since their gasoline-powered portable generator ran dry, an electrical outlet connection... so the homeowners should expect the requirement for these connections.

Ron came to our house and immediately gave us his professional opinion about our situation. We will need to fix our roof and get the load off the porch before leveling can be done. The quote for leveling our porch slab (once the other work is completed) was well priced. Although work was not performed, we both would not hesitate to call Ron when we are ready. We had a great first impression of Ron and A-1 Concrete Leveling! ($700)

It was completed on time (barring the cold weather - had to change the date once) and cheaper than the estimate by $50.00!

Working with Ron Bowen was relatively easy and his team seemed efficient. The process took about three weeks from start to finish, but that was because a partial concrete footer had to be installed and cured. The workers were careful with plants and landscaping as they had to dig two relatively large pits in order to install the concrete and piers. All of this occurred in changing weather conditions, including a 6-inch snowfall. The end result is pretty much what we had hoped for, and we would certainly recommend A-1 at this point.

Work took about two days to complete as stated. Even thou many unexpected problems where found during this job. For example: large amounts of concrete on either side of the garage which had to jack hammered out to install piers, also discovered block missing from foundation. However crew dealt with each problem very professionally and kept on going. All work was explained as it was performed or questions or ask, kept us informed of any issues they felt needed to be brought to our attention. Each worker took pride in doing their part on the job site. Not only was work done to my satisfaction the clean up was great too. Job manager call later in the day after the crew left to ensure that all work had been done to our expectations and we had no questions or concerns about the work.

They did a very good job. They were prompt. The men were very courteous. They made the sidewalk the way it should be, which I am happy with. They worked very quickly. The man who came to give me the estimate, Ron Bowen, was very professional. I got their name from Angie's List and they gave me a 10% discount.

The side walk had dropped next to the porch. In the middle of the side walk a piece of it had also been pushed up due to tree roots. The end of the sidewalk was also not level with the driveway. The guy who came out to look at the work knew exactly what he needed to due to fix all of these areas. Very professional and tops in his expertise. I would have the 2 guys who did the work over for dinner. The most polite gentleman I have ever seen. The price was also very reasonable.

He came and looked at our house, and told us we needed to have the wall jacked up. His work doesn't do this kind of smaller job, because it's not warranted in our situation. He saved us thousands of dollars! He was very honest, nice and professional.

Sales representative, Ron Bowen, described how the process worked and indicated that typically two or three walkway sections are raised to make smooth even re-leveling. He also stated there would be holes drilled in the cement where the pulverized limestone cement slurry would be pumped to hydraulically raise the sections. The walkway to our front door had two places where re-leveling was needed. The two men came at the appointed time, utilized a carbide saw to remove jagged edges from specific places between sections, drilled holes in the appropriate sections of walkway, pumped in the cement and leveled the sections. Afterwards, patching cement was put into the holes and the residues and excesses from the pumping were cleaned up. The process took about 2 1/2 hours. This is a fascinating and fun process to watch!

He did the leveling fine. It left a crack, which they said it would, I had to fill the crack myself which was a bit of a pain. I do appreciate his service and did a great job, I just wish they did crack filling as well.

I was extremely impressed with this company and their concrete raising and leveling process. Ron, who did the estimate, came the day after I called at exactly the time that he was scheduled to be here. He took the time to explain the process and gave me a brochure about it. He even called the 10% Angie's List discount to my attention. I was given a 2 hour window for the time that the men would arrive to do the work (1 to 3 p.m.); they arrived at 2:00 p.m. Before starting the work they explained the process again and asked if I had any questions. They were done in a little less than an hour. They cleaned the area so that it looked better when they left than when they got to our house. They strongly suggest using a particular kind of concrete caulking to seal the edges around the concrete that has been raised. If we'd known how economical this process was and how well it worked (it's guaranteed) we would have done this much sooner.

The experience was excellent. From the start I was treated courteously and professionally. Michelle in the office was great to work with in scheduling both the estimate and the work. Ron Bowen came promptly for the estimate discussed several options in where and how to level the drive. He offered advice on caulking and sealing the concrete to help avoid further shifting of the concrete. He specifically asked if I had any questions, was unhurried with his time. When Donnie and Jerry came to complete the leveling, they, too, answered questions and provided sound advice. Both were prompt and efficient.

They were right on time for the estimate and showed up on time for the repair. They kept me advised of the process as it went along to make sure I was satisfied. They did a good job of cleanup when the job was done.

Ron Bowen was very professional when he came to discuss the work. He gave me several suggestions on how to preserve my driveway and improve its appearance. He and his crew did a thorough job and made substantial improvement to the concrete. I had used some crack filler which was difficult for them to remove and made raising the concrete a little problematic. The price was fair and I would definitely use this company again.

Hands down they are the best in this business. I was very pleased with the service. They did exactly what they said they were going to do and the price was reasonable as well. I would recommend them to people any time.

Right on time for both estimate and job. Results are just what we wanted and needed. Everything level now, including step from side garage door. Will have them back to fix front cement steps.

Ron came to the house to look over the situation. He called to say that the foundation of the house was fine but that the concrete slab under our porch needed some work which he said he didn't typically do. He recommended another contractor to call who was on Angie's List and was in good standing with his customers. I appreciated Ron honesty in this matter as well as recommending a qualified/quality contractor to use for the service.
