A-1 Concrete Leveling & Foundation Repair

I was referred to A-1 by a friend, who had a wonderful experience. I researched them in Angie's List and was happy to find that they were rated very highly, and had several positive reports. I called them to explain my situation, and schedule an estimate. Because it was exterior work, I did not have to be present for the estimate-they simply left it on my front door. I was pleasantly surprised by the estimate, and called to schedule the work. They arrived on time, explained the procedure and quickly got to work. Less than a half hour later, my sidewalk was even again-would definitely use them again.

10 ft x 10 ft.concrete slab cracked in half during process. The workman told me A-1 usually does not charge if slab is broken during this process. He then called office and was told i had to pay half of $216.00 estimate. The quote stated not responsible for stress cracking but I asked how often that happend and I was told very seldom. I don't know what issues the cracked concrete will cause in the future. It is one of twelve 10 ft x 10 ft. slabs in my driveway. If slab has to be replaced the new slab will most certainly be a different color than the original. I am not an expert but I noticed the workman started to pump in the "Mud" and then after pumping in a lot of mud cut the joints with a power saw. I think that maybe if the seams were cut before the slabjacking, the cracking could have been avoided. My next door neighbor had A-1 raise 3 blocks yesterday and I watched as they cut joints before injecting "mud". None of the blocks cracked. I was not offered a special price if I wanted the cracked slab replaced. Also, cleanup could have been better. I have to powerwash the driveway to get rid of the "Mud" stains.

After reading several reports on Angie's list, my wife and I decided to call A-1 Concrete leveling & Foundation Repair. They came to our house 4 days later and gave us an estimate which was reasonable in price so we went ahead and scheduled the work. The workers showed-up promptly on the day and hour scheduled and they talked to us and explained what they were going to do. They had approximately 5 or 6 workers at our place for about 5 hours, making the holes, injecting the mix and mudjacking all the depressed areas. The result of the work done was amazing. They were able to level-off the entire deck to the point that the cracks were barely visible. The workers were courteous and professional during the entire time they were at home. They cleaned as best as they could when they were finished and left all the patio furniture in the deck in the right place when they were done. My only observation is that they could have done a better job at repairing the holes that they had to make to mudjack the deck. They must have made about 20 or 25 holes and even though they covered them with cement, they were not able to match the color and the texture of our deck so the holes are very noticeable now. Also, inadvertently they left two of the holes unrepaired so I had to patch these on my own. Overall our experience with this company was very good and we are satisfied with their services. However, we would recommend that they pay more attention to the final repair and "patching" of the holes that they make because, after a while, this is what is visible and what I as a customer see every time that I am out in my deck. By the way, I did get the Angie's List discount after i mentioned to A-1 that I had found them by consulting Angie's List so a big THANK YOU to Angie's List for saving me some good amount of money.

Completely satisfied from beginning to end. We called a competitor whose quote was higher and the owner was gruff and less than articulate. It was an easy decision when A1 arrived to do the estimate. There was no high-pressure sales talk and the estimator asnwered our questions completely and without hesitation. The installers were equally professional and "fun." It wasn't a bother to them that we were very curious about the process. They patiently answered our questions and worked with us to get the result we were looking for. I HIGHLY recommend this company. Good job, folks!

I contacted A-1 Concrtete Leveling to get an estimate after seeing their name on Angie's List. I received the estimate in a timely manner after the contact. I asked questions regarding the work and they were all answered. The leveling of the sidewalk was done while I was at work, I could tell the difference as I pulled up to the house. Prior to the work, the sidewalk was a trip hazard due to the slabs dropping down. It was a job well done, I have/had no complaints. I paid after the job was completed. I had initially thought about having the sidewalk broken up and new concrete poured, but this method saved me hundreds of dollars.

It was a process where they evened things out because the concrete was not level. They gave a warranty for a year or two on the work, and it has only been a little over a week. Everything was fine including the service. I have never had this kind of work done before, so I don?t have a lot to compare it with. They asked me to seal the space between the panels and the sidewalk. They told me how to do that, but that would have cost me some more money. However, they had this clause on the estimate, so it did not surprise me or anything. I would have preferred that they had offered that service. My interaction with them was fine. Everything was very timely, and the process was very smooth. I hope everything works the way it is supposed to and I don?t have any problems with the sidewalk for a couple of years; I would be happy then. I would use them again in the future if necessary.

Estimate was received exactly as scheduled. 2 man crew arrived ontime and proceeded to work until all work was completed. No starting/stopping, breaks or leaving property. Results were above expectations, They were able to almost completley level this 10 year old walk, I thought I would spend thousands replacing this concrete. They also completely leveled the 2 front steps that had settled badly due to poor wokmanship initially. I can't recommend A1 enough.

Work was completed in one day. Owner personally did the digging around the foundation. I am very happy with the results.

Our sidewalk was not even in several places, and our front step had a gap. They were very professional and easy to work with. They did a great job. The day they wanted to schedule the work, we weren't going to be home. They didn't need to be in the house for anything, and were able to accomplish all the work without us having to be here. We came home and saw that everything looked great. They also gave a discount, and I believe it was an Angie's List discount. I would definitely recommend them.

I found A-1 on Angie's list. I left a message after hours that was promptly returned. An estimator came out while I was at work and left a detailed summary. I contracted the work and it was done on time. I'm very pleased with the result.

I got them from Angie's List. They didn't level concrete. I'd thought I needed concrete leveling, but they said no and what the problem was is the foundation as it had a crack in it so they reinforced it. The work turned out to be very good. The guys completed it quickly and did a thorough job. The workers kept working. They were a little expensive. They were responsive, punctual and professional. I would use then again in the future.

After being contacted by Ron, he had one of his business partners come out to my home and repair the concrete that was damaged during the leveling. The concrete was repaired to my satisfaction, and I appreciate Ron's follow-up and follow-through.

They were very easy to work with. They said if it didn't work, they said there would be no charge. The one area that was raised about 8 inches, they were able to bring it to within a 1/2 inch. It's not perfect, but it works for us because it would have costed much more to replace the concrete. They lowered the original estimate because it didn't end up working on one side. We were very happy with the work, and would use them again in a heartbeat.

Arrived when they said they would and re-leveled the concrete. Great people to work with: fair, prompt, and professional.

It was a very good experience. A-1 expained that they the company that had raised them before, had not drilled enough holes for an area that large. The crew was very professional. They cleaned up the area before they left. We would recommend them to anyone needing their driveway raised.

Quote performed on time. Crew arrived 1 hour early but called 30 minutes before to ask permission to arrive early. Crew worked consistently performed their duty to my satisfaction, cleaned their mess and left on time.

Went well. Step had separated so significantly that it could not be returned to its original position. I believe A1 reset it to as good a spot as could be done.

I contected A1 because of a foundation problem. They called me right back and came out the next day. After careful inspection they said that because of my unique problem, I could most likely get it done by a different type of company for less money. This would have been a $10,000+ job for them but they were honest and recommended another company. That honesty is hard to find and deserves this review.

The office folks were very friendly and great to deal with. We felt the estimate was very reasonable. They arrived promptly and were very willing to answer any questions we had about the process. They did an excellent job protecting my driveway with tarps and made sure that any spills were cleaned up.

Excellent! Everything went smoothly. The net result is a nice even sidewalk.

The workmen arrived on time and started on the project immediately. The concrete patio pad was raised back into position in about 30 minutes. From start to finish the job only took 50 minutes and we were able to use the patio that afternoon. The workmen were respectful, courteous and professional. It was a great job and it looks fantastic. I would use them again and will recommend this company to others.

Contacted company about driveway sinking...they sent someone to assess...verified that they did previous work on the section (I could not find the original receipt)...they fixed the problem free and noted that drainage under the driveway may be causing the driveway to sink
