Young and Sons was very easy to work with from quote to job completion. The old drive was very cracked with large holes all the way through to the gravel base. I decided to have them replace the drive rather than just patch holes and fill cracks. Their quote was in the middle of the quotes received, but they did a better job of telling me what the job would entail. Removal and replacement took two days. Work was completed in 2006 and the drive still looks great. Just recently had Young and Sons returned to do the first sealcoat.

They did a very good job. I had no complaints, they did a fine job. They made sure to be respectful and cleaned everything up fine. They were easy to work with. The price was agreeable as well. I'd recommend them.

It went very well. The price was competitive and it looks good to me. I may have been too conservative giving them a B on the quality as opposed to an A. I am satisfied at this point.

Great responses from Gabriel (estimator). I appreciate his coming out and giving us estimates over the course of 2 months. Prices were very competitive, and I came pretty darned close to going with Young. I went with a competitor who came very close to Young's estimate, basing the decision pretty much a gut feeling. Sorry, Gabriel.

They did a great job, and they had the best quote out of three other companies. I would definitely recommend them to other members.

They are the ones that put in the drive way 5 years ago. They came out and made sure it was all sealed when they were done. They did a great job cleaning everything up afterward.

It went excellent. It was a peculiar job; I had a retaining wall and the work was post fire, and they added a "slip" for my boat.

They filled the cracks with a machine that laid down a tarry liquid that stayed tacky after two years. I called them back after a year and they went over it again with a more expensive product. The product is still tacky after a year, it smears when I drive over it, it tracks the substance everywhere. It will not dry. I walk on the asphalt daily and it is a big problem especially during the summer.

He had agreed to come out to the property to give me an estimate, but he never returned my calls and I never heard back from him.

They were professional, responsive, and charged a very competitive price. I would use them again.

They came by to do an estimate. When I got home that evening I had received a voice mail from Young and Sons Asphalt Paving which stated that I didn't need to have my drive way resurfacing. I had returned his phone call, he stated it would not do any good to do it and if I wanted to, I should dig it up to relay asphalt.

I called for an estimate which I didn't receive. I called again and they sent it again (the first estimate didn't have a stamp on it). I called to get it scheduled instead of them calling me to get it scheduled. Then they initially said it would be 3 weeks before they could get to it. They called back and said they would be out in a week. They came as scheduled and finished promptly. I was satisfied with their work.

I had the job performed in September, and I had them out one week after because the job was unsatisfactory. He explained that I should give it time, and that his work is backed with a one year guarantee. They were also to come back one week later, and never showed. Since, cracks have appeared. One was in November, and others I discovered after the snow melted off in February. Additionally, there are parts of my new driveway that do not appear level, causing me to question whether they wedged up low areas as stated in the contract. My concern is that this driveway will not hold up, if after only 5 to 6 months, these glaring mistakes are appearing. As of today, I would never hire this company.

I had a couple of questions and they were very prompt in answering. They were extremely courteous and professional. They were excellent.

I called John and he told me to talk to Don the supervisor. When I spoke with Don he was super rude regarding my concerns. I wanted him to look at the driveway and he wouldn't work with me. I got no where with Don, so I called John and he said he would talk to Don. I waited 1 day and after no one called I called John and received an answering machine and I left a message. John called me back and said to call Mr. Young the owner. I immediately called and left a message for Mr. Young. The next day Mr. Young and Don came to the house and I showed them the items of my concern. Mr. Young was trying to make excuses. Said they would do what they could. He couldn't argue about the seal coat and said they didn't do such a good job. In the end they came back and used more expensive acrylic crack filler that worked better in bigger cracks. They used a sprayer to reseal the entire driveway. After the job was complete it turned out to be what I expected in the first place.

They have been unprofessional, disrespectful, and have done an extremely poor job. They graded the driveway toward my house. They did not lay any top gravel. They poured the approach into the street, they then had to cut it back to the curb, once they did that they chipped it up and will not fix it. They have hung up on us when we have called, and are unwilling to fix anything they have done incorrectly.

Gabriel was courteous and professional and gave frank advice. If I decide to go ahead with the project, it will be done by Young and Sons.

Came quickly to do the estimate and has been very flexible as we wait for roofers to finish before we move to the driveway.

It went very well. They refused to seal our driveway at the wrong time of the year (fall) but gave us an estimate that they held to when spring arrived. We appreciated that. When they did seal the driveway, they did a nice job, and the driveway still looks nice after 2 summers.

The driveway was completely ripped out and new asphalt was laid. We also had the driveway widened and sloped as per their suggestions to prevent standing water and improve run-off after heavy rains. There was some miscommunication between the estimator and the job foreman. We had wanted to keep a concrete edging on the side of the driveway, but the crew ripped part of it out. I called the crew foreman and he told me that the concrete could not be saved and had cracked during the removal of the old driveway. I wished that the estimator had told us that this might happen. We had to have the crew come back the next day and rip out the remaining concrete edging and put down more asphalt, adding to our bill. Overall, their work is very good and I would hire Young and Sons again. We have had no issues with standing water or drainage since the driveway was installed.

It was a pleasure working with the people at Young & Sons. Their representative responded promptly to my phone message. After an on-site inspection, a complete proposal arrived by mail. The cost was within $175 of 2 other estimates I received. These folks were flexible about scheduling their work around other yard work I was having done. They worked quickly, even matching the drive to the angle of a paver walkway. The yard was cleared of debris. The only sign of construction was the Young & Sons company sign which I was glad to leave in my yard for weeks. At the first heavy rain I was pleased to note that the runoff pattern was excellent.

We are very pleased with the work this company has done to repave the driveway. The driveway looks better than when it was new.
