 + -1 moreWe moved from out of state in July and purchased a home in Centennial(Westfield). After talking to several lawn services we selected the Greenskeeper for lawn fertilization & cutting. We were extremely pleased with the promptness, courtesy, and excellent job they did. I contacted them about tree/scrub service and asked that someone come out to inspect our yard for any additional suggestions. They sent me an email the same day and two days later their owner came out for an inspection. That evening he sent me an email(with a followup letter) with helpful information-no charge- and suggestion. Within a week the man who does their tree-scrub work called and came out. He spent almost an hour explaining this area's lawn needs(we are from Texas and needed filling in). Again, no charge. In both cases I followed up by requesting their services and in each case it was completed within two days. How can you beat that. We have been so happy with how they do their business and treat customers.
Description of Work: Fertilized tree and scrubs and completed lawn core aeration. All was completed within a week after I initially contacted them.

 + -1 moreThe cost is about $45 per application. We are very satisfied with them. If we ever want to delete one of the steps in our program throughout the season, they are agreeable to this. They also call ahead of time. Their prices are comparable or better than some of the other providers and when they say they'll come out, they do.
Description of Work: They do our annual program for lawn treatment and have done it for the last 5 or 6 years for us.

 + -1 moreMy lawn is evidence that The Greenskeeper is careful in their work and they actually pay attention to my yard when they treat it. If they weren t diligent, I d still have the same weeds popping up in the same places. I am also pleased with how they leave me the invoices. They leave them inside the storm door on my front door, so that they are protected from the weather and they don t get wet or blown away. I also like that, with the invoice, they provide information about the treatment that was applied. The only thing that I do not like about the service is that they charge a gas charge with each application, which was not disclosed in the treatment price that I was quoted. Overall, a company and a service that I think are worth the price.
Description of Work: I used this company to provide fertilizer treatments as well as weed control, grub treatment and aeration. The Price shown is for all of the services over the entire season. This is the first year that I've used this company and I've been pleased with their service. In previous years, even though I've used professional lawn companies, my lawn was plagued by weeds in the exact same places year after year and the weeds were starting to spread. I also had one year where most of my front lawn died without explanation and where I've had chemical burn on the lawn in the shape of footprints. None of this happened with The Greenskeeper. The weeds that have popped up in the same places year after year are nearly wiped out! My lawn looks great, even my problematic front yard.

 + -1 moreThe problem is that I have had dead yellow grass all Spring and Summer. I was thinking they would correct the problem. I asked when I hired them to send someone I could talk to about the problem. I never got the opportunity to speak with who is treating the lawn and I think my lawn is mis-diagnosed. The person treating the lawn says it looks perfect, the only problem may be from me over watering. There is about 70% brown to 30% green in the lawn. If you look at the blades they have brown spots on them and the tips are brown. The price is per visit.
Description of Work: They have been coming out to fertilize my lawn. I am currently on step 4 of a 5 or 6 step process.

 + -1 moreWe paid for all the services that were part of the prescribed annual treatment program as billed by them. We are not asking for any action to be taken by you with The Greenskeeper. We have canceled their service and have chosen another company from Angie's List.
Description of Work: We have been customers of The Greenskeeper for many years and up-until-last -year, have found them to be quite good. HOWEVER, for the last year or so, we have noticed a very definite decline in the quality of their service. We contacted them at the end of the 2006 season indicating that our lawn really looked sick and that we needed something special to be done. They responded with a treatment process that they thought would help. So far in 2007, the lawn looks worse and we have not had any contact from them as to even recognizing the continuing problem. We have dandelions, an array of other broad leaf weeds and have been told by another lawn care company, that we have insects in parts of our yard. We also have a 240 square foot area that is completely burned out (again, no comment from The Greenskeeper's service tech when he has been on property to treat the lawn.). I understand that we have had a dry period; but we have an automatic sprinkler system that routinely waters the lawn.

 + -1 moreWe have a service agreement with them this season to take care of the lawn. They leave information every time the stop by and keep us informed as to what they are doing with the yard. The lawn is doing better than ever before. They are very knowledgeable and we feel like it's money well spent. Price is per application.

 + -1 moreCouldn't get the system to start. Jeff indicated he would return the next week to work on the problem. Followed up with him three weeks later and he indicated he had to finish starting the systems of all other customers before working on my system, which would be another two weeks. I have had customer service problems with him in the past and will find another company for future work.

 + -1 moreI have been very happy with The Greenskeeper so far. I called for an estimate on a Monday and they came out the next day and I had the written detailed estimate in the mail by Thursday. Because I have a locked fence, they call the night before they come to my house so that I can leave the fence unlocked. The estimate was very complete and they did not push extra treatments that I did not need (their recommendation was the minimum treatment package). When I called to start service they had an employee in my area and were able to make the first treatment within a few hours of my call. With the recent rain and nice weather my lawn was noticeably greener within a few days and many of the weeds have started to die off. I can't wait to see how the lawn improves with further treatments.
Description of Work: I recently hired The Greenskeeper to perform yearly lawn fertilization. The cost above is for a 6 step program throughout the year ($25 per application).

 + -1 moreA communication problem was becoming evident when we noticed the work had not been done. When I called he stated he didn't remember agreeing to do the work and I got into a yelling match with him because he was in denial of the situation. A man finally came out (we think he was the owner) and did the fourth step in the treatment (which had nothing to do with the vine) which he informed us was the final step and we then paid the bill. A little while later I received a bill from them for the fifth step, so I called them questioning why I would have received a bill when they told me the last step had already been performed. I told them that I wouldn't mind paying for it to be done, but would like notification next time with a flag in the grass or a note indicating that they had come out and done the work. It was frustrating that the owner's son did not take responsibility of our yard like he said he would.
Description of Work: We had been using this company for years and in the spring of 2006 our grass was not growing when compared to other neighbor's yards. We then called the company and the son of the owner came out and said he would personally take care of it and did a good job of fertilizing the grass and it then started to grow. We were gone a lot in the summer and when we came back in July we noticed that our grass was not looking good (this was new grass that we had planted). We had never experienced the grass not growing like it should. The owner's son came out to fix the problem and he informed us that we skipped one of the five steps they do for treatment for the summer. I then told him to come out and do the step and to take care of a vine like weed that was taking over our sidewalk. We had to leave town again. We never received a bill for the treatment, so we called the son in the early fall because the vine had not been taken care of.

 + -1 moreVery unprofessional woman on the phone. I told her I was an Angie's List member and she said so. Don't honor how prestigious it is to be on Angie's List. We have been a customer for many years and are flabbergasted at the experience. We don't live in Carmel or Noblesville so we were blown off. I was treated terribly on the phone. Customer service is key to any business and they don't have sensitivity to customers relying and Angie's List for feedback. I would not recommend the service to anybody.

 + -1 moreWe have been very pleased with the service we have received from Greenskeeper. We can already tell a difference in our lawn. They are very timely about coming out to treat the yard. They always call a few days in advance so that we can plan to have the lawn mowed and ready to go. They also leave very good literature that describes what treatment was performed and how to care for the lawn in the following weeks. We have had unsatisfactory results in past years with a larger company in town, and are very glad that we made the switch to Greenskeeper.

 + -1 moreWe had very poor results with this company. During the summer of 2005 our lawn went from looking great to looking terrible. They said unusual weath was the cause so we gave them another chance. In 2006 our lawn again looked terrible. They're only suggestion was to pay twice as much for a different kind of application so we fired them.

The work they do seems to be fine however, I always seem to have difficulty getting the tech to return my calls until I have left several messages. As a result, I will probably look for another company to handle the irrigation system next year.
