The Greenskeeper

I am new to using them but they have been very responsive. All communication with them has been through email and phone; I haven?t ever seen one of their representatives. The approximate cost listed is per treatment. The aeration cost $177.

We found the company from Angie's list and called them. I especially mentioned that our backyard is a headache because of a lot of weeds. After their estimation, they recommended us to use their 6 step maintainess service and we pay in full for all the 6 steps in front. After giving several phone calls asking for applying the first step, they started the first step. Then I had to keep calling them pushing for the second step which I was told is to kill weeds. They eventually came back with spot spray. After two to three weeks, the back yard is still full of weeds. During this whole process, I can't remember how many phone calls I had to make to talk to them. Over 90% of the times I was asked to leave a message, even during 10 am and 2 pm - standard business hours. Of course I can leave a message, but after calling 6 times in one day in standard business hours hoping to talk to someone at my convenient time and still asked to leave messages, I don't think it is the right service. I actually recommended them to my friend after we chose them because I thought they have good reputation in Angie's list ignoring my personal experience. When I saw my friend the next time, they told me they ended up using another company because after 4 times of calling, nobody picked up the phone. I eventually decided to switch to another company, who have a person taking phone calls even at 4:30 pm, came to my backyard the very next day, spent half an hour answering my questions, and sent me an email of the treatment plan. Again I had to make several phone calles to talk to someone and cancel my service with Greenskeeper. After I told why I cancel their service, I was told I can always leave a message - sounds like it's my fault to keep calling them during standard business hours and still with nobody to talk to. Then I was told I never give them a chance for the second step - I don't understand after trying to contact them asking to apply the first and second steps up to 7 times, what other chances I can furthur provide. Now I am waiting for the refund of the 5 steps services that I HAVE BEEN ASKING FOR AND DID NOT GET A CHANCE TO RECEIVE. I wish this goes well so I don't need to make headache phone calls and still have a great backyard.

Our lawn does not look as good as it should for the work they have done. I know they come because I see the fertilizer, but our lawn is not looking good at all. When we called and complained, they haven?t been very helpful. They did core aeration and overseeding last year, but our lawn still doesn?t look as good as the other lawns in the neighborhood, so we are finding another company that can improve the look of our lawn. Their prices are low, but still not worth having a terrible looking lawn.

It went great - the lawn mowing and the fertilization. Excellent.

Appreciated that I got a knowledgeable response to my initial questions. Liked that the company called ahead before lawn treatments and were able to respond to changes in the program as requested. Have no complaints about how our lawn looks!

2007 was a very dry summer, leaving lots of bare spots on the lawn. Greenskeeper did slit seeding in the springtime of 2008. Even though the results were not guaranteed, they came back out and re-seeded areas that remained bare after a few weeks. By mid-summer the lawn was full and green again. Nice job.

So far, so good. We've had the first treatment and they were prompt with delivery.

We called The Greenskeeper for an estimate for lawn care for 2008. They sent someone out and we received the estimate in a timely manner. The estimate was professionally typed and reasonably priced. We contacted The Greenskeeper to start services. They always came and applied treatments without any disturbance. In addition, they left the bill and an explanation of treatment on the door with instructions for the lawn and flags to signify a treatment had been applied. The only problem we had was they did not contact us regarding re-seeding in the Fall. We went ahead and completed the re-seeding ourselves, as the window for re-seeding was almost over. Afterwards, I received a hand-written letter from the manager indicating that they had tried to contact me for several weeks, but they had the wrong number on file.

They seem to be a very professional company. The gentleman in charge seemed to be truly interested in the quality of the lawn and not just wanting to collect money.

They do good work. They come when I'm gone and do all of the work. I haven't had any problems with them so far. I've had them for about a year or so and they've been alright. Angie's list called me and I would have waited to report on this company. The grade B could become a grade A in the near future.

This company is wonderful! Recently, I received a handwritten note from the owner who stated that he was just passing by and wanted to give me some pointers on my lawn. Talk about personal service! My lawn looks worlds better than it did just a year ago.

This is the first time that we have used there services. Overall, there has been an improvement in the grass. They leave an explanation of what they have done when they do come out. They even altered the treatment after the lawn was damaged. We are happy.

We even hire this company to aerate our lawn. The lawn looks good and is healthy. I thought that they gave us a call back right away, so they got the job.

The first few years that I had them I was very happy. They did a very good job and would spot spray free of charge, but this year I was disappointed with their service because I have a lot of weeds now. My grass was not responding well and had a lot of fungus. They also wanted a lot of money to correct the problem, so I chose to cancel our contract.

They are very pleasant. They do a very nice job. I have used them for a number of years and I have never been disappointed. They always give me good service.

Everything is great. They call every time before they come out for the treatment. They leave the invoice on the door with a list of the treatment that they did on the lawn. We've never had an issue with them, and we're very pleased.

Yard looks worse now than when the company started 2 years ago. Even though the yard looks bad, they never said a word to me about what the problem could be, they just keep dumping chemicals. (Although I am no expert, I do suspect that the Spring application was over applied as the yard started looking like it did when I used to do my own lawn care and made an over application.) I recently asked them to discontinue their service. I didn't give them a reason, just told them I was discontinuing their service. I told them that they could keep the remainder of my pre-paid annual fee. However, I did get a prompt refund of my pre-paid annual fee which is to their credit. It's been almost a month now and no one contacted me to ask why I was discontinuing their service. I used to think that all lawn care services were just alike and it was sort of like being a pair of Levi's jeans which you can buy from Kohl's or Macy's. The only thing that is different is the price. Now, I know different and will take more care in choosing a lawn service.

Greenskeeper prepared a written estimate and discussed thoroughly over the phone. Their work crew showed up right on time and worked steadily throughout the day. Mike, the foreman, was great, taking the time to explain the various plant care routines I should follow. We're very pleased with the quality of their work!!

They always show up on time to do the work. They are very professional. They are very courteous when they are their. They always shut the fence to keep the dogs in when they are done spraying.

They came out and provided an estimate which was pretty in line with what I was looking for. They have done a pretty good job so far. They always put out a flag, so we know they have done the application. We know they are doing their job.

Great job with first fertilization. Also, mowing went quite well. Very responsive and able to get here the two times needed. First mowing job was outstanding due to an exceptional trimming job. Second mowing job was good, but trimming was not as good as the first time; possibly as result of different skill set on trimming person.

I'm very happy with the results. I think they're priced reasonably and they're very loyal.

I contacted The Greenskeeper based on Angie's List recommendations and they responded within a few days to let me know someone would be out to look at the lawn. I was not home at the time but was impressed with the literature they left along with the estimate. A week or so later they treated the lawn. I signed up for their lawn care program so time will tell how well it works.

My grass looks good, there are no dandelions, and I have no complaints! They are on time and leave a bill.

They have done a great job, good service and very responsive.
