Mason's Northside Concrete

Scheduled an appointment for 4pm on Friday May 19th. I left work early, but Mason's was a no call - no show for the appointment at 4pm.

Went very well. Mike Jr. recommended the overlay because I was concerned the new concrete wouldn't match the old concrete (it never can) and I am so glad we took his recommendation. The entire front entry looks so so much better!! Thank you for quality service!

This is a small company. They were very slow at getting the job done but did an excellent job. Also did an excellent job on cleaning up.

Chiseled old concrete aprons throwing residue all over garage walls. Damaged paint trim on garage. Aprons cracked within a week. Had to re do. Over sprayed concrete sealer onto vinyl siding. Owner tried to remove sealer and took color out of vinyl. We contacted them and they said they would come and they did not. We paid a construction company $300 to remove and replace vinyl. Made a complaint with Angies List and had no success.

I do have a little bit of an issue that I will be calling them about soon to see what we can work out. When they installed the porch they re did the sealer to caulk cracks they have now faded. I don't think it was their fault but due to the weather because it was raining all day. They were really pleasant people and I believe they gave it their all while doing the work. They were rather responsive in returning my calls.

On the deck, they lack supervision with end result of concrete having void along edges. A worker over sprayed concrete sealer on vinyl siding across back of house. After a phone call to Masons, Joe Sr. come out and cleaned with chemicals which took color out of vinyl. We paid $300 for a construction company to replaced vinyl siding. We are requesting to be reimbursed the $300. Pictures were taken of the vinyl after it was cleaned. On the garage apron, workers used chisels and hammers to removed old concrete. Did not informed us when they started and we had 2 vehicles in the garage. One of them being new and lease. Chunks of concrete flew on newly painted wood trim around the garage frame and on finished garage wall. The debris contained water so it hardened on wall and garage frame. We were able to get vehicles moved just prior to this procedure. After a couple of phone calls, Mason Sr. returned and cleaned one trim. Obviously some paint came off with the concrete residue and will need to be repainted. Garage apron started cracking as it hardened and he repaired with more concrete. As of now the apron is cracking again. Mason need to either repair again or refund money. They started late daily, one worker showed up everyday at 8am. He sat in his car until others arrived. Someone in neighborhood called the sheriff about suspicious vehicle/person. My husband had to explain to the sheriff that this person was legal. As far as the responsiveness, we have not contacted them about apron. They know about the concrete void.

Everything went very well. Patio was completed on time. And it looks fantastic!

Job was completed quickly and exactly as quoted. We were out of town with a family emergency and Mason's continued and finished the job in our absence. They were trustworthy and professional. I would use them again without a doubt.

Was happy with Mason's. Since the area of concrete to be replaced was rather small (maybe 12 square feet), I was having trouble finding any concrete company to come and do the work - they all had a minimum square footage number way above what I was looking for. Happy to have found Mason's, who was easy to work with, fairly priced, and did quality work.

Our experience with Mason's has been great. Both Mike and Mike Jr. have been very courteous and professional and they do excellent quality work. We have used them for 1 large project and multiple smaller projects. We plan to use Mason's again in the future and would recommend their services to anyone else needing concrete work.

The job went very well and on time except for the weather delays. Mike Mason is very professional and upfront about any decision that needs to be addressed.

The service went beautifully. It was a uniquely shaped patio which required varying slopes in order to keep water away from the house. The two gentlemen who worked on it (Chris and Terence) were very nice and friendly. They explained everything that they were doing and why they were doing it, and they cleaned up nicely every day before they left. The owner, Mike, offered a very reasonable price for the services, compared to other quotes.

No show 1st appt. I left a message with Linda the next day asking to reschedule. She called me back to see if Mike could come the next day during the day or between 6 and 7 like the original appt. Yes that was fine. Did receive a call that he would be unable to make the appt because it was storming outside. Rescheduled for yesterday between 6 and 7 - no show, no call. We are seeking someone with better communication skills and that shows respect for others.

They did a lovely job on the ramp, so we could dispense with metal one. I would highly recommend them to anyone. This has saved so many problems for us, and it makes it much easier to get my husband in and out of the house. They even worked with us on planning the ramp so that it would function as well as possible.

The guys did an excellent job on everything. It all looks really good.

They replaced our driveway but after it was completed, we had all sorts of cracks appear. They won't return our phone calls. His wife answers the phone but the owner won't call us back or respond.

Over the winter the cracks appeared in the new sections and are worse that before they were replaced. I called Mike Jr. because he was the one who did the job for Mason's North Side Concrete, the call was made in the January time frame. Mike Jr. said wait until spring when the weather was right and he would stop bye and look at the cement, he also they would fix it, they would make it right. I called him again in late March and he said he was not doing cement work now, he would be back doing that work in late April. so I needed to call his dad the owner and he would come out, so I called him several times with no response. I tried several more times and finally was given a time he would come out, but he did not show up, I called again was given another time and he would be here, but another no show.by now it is late April so I call Mike Jr. back ask him to stop bye the house and give me a call so I could meet him, i told him his dad would not call me or come bye to see the job, he said i don't understand that and i said i didn't understand either. Mike Jr. said he would call me before he came bye/ with in the next week.Two or three days later in the mail box i found a business card from Mike senior stating on the back of the card that he would come later this fall and fill the cracks with silicone, he did not ring the door, we were home. i called the office when i found the card the next day and talked to the Linda in the office and I told her about the card and what it said and that it was unacceptable. She said that she would have Mike call me back, but it would probably be the next day, that has been at least 3 weeks, no call back.

The service went very well. They showed up on time and were very professional.

My experience with them was good. They did good work and were easy to work with. 5.45 to 5.47. They accommodated the dates I needed. The owner spent a lot of time when he came out to do the estimate to make sure I got what I wanted. The price was comparable to the other estimates.

The work was good. The communication was a little bit sketchy.

It was Mike's son who did the work which was to grind down a few cracks in the front porch and fill them in with cement and silicone which eventually were getting worse and could have become a tripping hazard. Looks like Mike wanted a $400 deposit to start and another $400 to finish and I somewhat reluctantly agreed since I had not been able to reach any other cement contractors that wanted to do a smaller job. Most of them are only interested in doing $5K jobs and are going to end up tearing out your entire porch to replace it which is not what I had requested. Bottom line... shouldn't have agreed to $800 just to repair a few lousy cracks! Look elsewhere for cement repairs, or, do it yourself.

Removed old patio (much more difficult than anticipated), leveled site, set forms, poured concrete, colored concrete, stamped pattern in concrete. Next day washed off excess release materials and sealed patio. Brought in extra dirt to provide acceptable slope from patio to lawn. Also removed and replaced front sidewalk.

They were very meticulous about the layout of the walk paying particular attention to the elevations. The owner was involved and he and his son did the final troweling. This was followed by an application of sealant. The final product looks great. We highly recommend this contractor.

They did a decent job. They followed through. Their timing, scheduling and everything was good.
