Mason's Northside Concrete

Mason’s demolished and replaced ou 1200 sq ft driveway in August 2023 at a cost of $11,000. In January 2024 we noticed pitting after two small snowfalls. We had not used any salt on our driveway. Mike Mason blamed it on salt carried over from the street. He proposed that they clean and reapply a sealer on the driveway, at a cost of $1,200, and said it should prevent pitting for 3-4 years. We said if that was the case, the previous sealer must have been poorly applied, if at all. We requested that he clean and reseal on a discounted basis, for that reason. Then he ghosted us. I strongly recommend that you not use Mason’s Northside Concrete, because they misrepresent the quality and durability of their work, and do not stand behind it.

Everything went great and guys were very nice. I will update review upon concrete setting at 4 week mark. Got it reinforced with rebar for a hot tub.

Couldn’t get the original contractor to return my calls after waiting for months to start this job. Called Masons and they immediately returned my emails and calls and started the job within a couple of weeks. The crew were very hard workers and came every day until the new patio was finished. Based on the results, the excellent communications from Lynda, and the final result, I can highly recommend them. We will certainly enjoy our new patio.

Even though I did not end up going with Mason, I was very impressed with their quick response to my request for qoute and Lynda's very timely responses to all of my email inquiries. Having used a number of contractors in the past, it is very rare to have this level of good communication so it is appreciated. Their quote was very competitive so I will definitely consider them for future projects.

Project went fairly well, job took 4-5 days as mentioned by Mike (owner). Could have been a little more protective of the lawn by utilizing more plywood, etc. to place dirt on and for walking. Messy work with using powder coloring for the cement which landed on the siding and windows because of the wind and they cleaned it up fairly well. I would use them again for other projects, thank you and Fantastic work! Wife and I are very pleased.

There were a number of difficulties and delays due to the amount of concrete and rebar that was found unexpectedly (it's an old house) underneath what was the visible when the estimate was given. More equipment had to be brought in and MANY more hours of work were needed to get out the old stuff before the new could be poured. The guys worked HARD throughout all this and the result was excellent. Now, 3 months later, it is holding up beautifully and draining the rain away from the house as promised.

I didn't end up using Mason's for the work, but the company was prompt in providing me an estimate after the request as well as in follow ups after the fact.

We have a 100+ year old house that needed a wrapped porch replaced. The porch also had large cement pillars. We really wanted to save these pillars save. Mike came out for estimate and felt confident that they could take the posts apart and reinstall them. No other company wanted to do this. One company would do the porch but we would need to hire someone to brace the roof and do the posts. The post person said posts to heavy, he could brace the roof but just knock down post and replace with something else. We hired Mason's and they did a great job!! They disassemble the posts, braced the roof, replaced front and side steps and entire porch, then reinstalled posts. He said some sections of the posts weighed 200 pounds. Mike has been doing this a long time (family business) and he is also the one doing the work with 2 other family members. You can tell he takes pride in his work and knows what he is talking about because he does the work. He saw things that the other company's estimator missed. There was a difference in the price but we wanted to save the posts and there are things that would have needed to be added on the other quote. We are very happy we chose Mason's!

Mason's Northside did a great job with the new front porch. Would definitely hire them again.

After a good initial response and the company's promise to get us a bid, Mason's said they needed to check the footing requirements. We never heard from them again and never saw a bid.

I had stamped and colored concrete walks that had not been maintained. I had 3 other concrete subs out to view the work who said they could not help. I called a concrete supply company and got Mike Mason's name. He was able to restore the concrete and hs since been back to maintain it. Mike also does my untreatd concrete powerwashing. He is professional and very skilled. He was able to restore the the treated concrete to near original condition and he has continued it's maintenance. He is prompt, courteous and workmanlike. The job is cleaned up after. I will continue to use Mike for my concrete. I highly recommend him for this type of work.

This seems to be a "small" job in the world of concrete, with some not willing to give an estimate or adding a surcharge. Masons is different. The owner came and discussed the job with us and gave us a quote immediately. We liked him and the price was reasonable. A few weeks later, they tore out the old steps and one section of sidewalk, and over the next two days replaced the steps with wider ones and re-cast the sidewalk to line up with the change. Mike Jr. was in charge, and he and his crew did a fantastic job. They were careful with the landscaping at the side of the porch (we had removed some plants before they came), and took even more care with their work. They were craftsmen, not laborers. They were patient with our questions, and very knowledgeable. It was clear that they were not just doing a job, but creating something that would last for years. We really appreciate that attitude. They also cleaned up the job site daily. It's been about a month, and we continue to be pleased everytime we look at the front of the house.

Fantastic job! Mike came to the house and was very nice and professional. He quoted a price that was very fair and explained everything the do to make the finished product top notch! They had the job completed when promised and the finish design matched my existing driveway... If I need any further concrete work done I won't hesitate to hire Mike and his crew!

Called, they gave me a bid that day, did the work the following Monday. All went well, great communication, did everything efficiently and great quality of work. They are family owned and really care about their reputation and do a great job.

My family have used Mason's Northside Concrete for 16 years. The quality of work is outstanding and they are exceptionally knowledgeable and friendly. They did our patio 14 years ago and it still looks brand new. Their knowledge of sealant extensive and the quality of sealant and workmanship is outstanding. I did it myself using a "premium" product at a hardware store, and it lasted less then 1 year. Mike's work looks great after 4 years. If you are looking to hire someone that uses the proper materials and takes pride in their work, then Mason's Northside Concrete is the perfect person! I was very pleased not only with the concrete work but also the professionalism they displayed. They called to let us know when they would be coming and cleaned up thoroughly after the job was completed. We had 3 bids for the work and Mason's was the lowest. Ron Herman

The patio looked amazing once they were done in August. The work didn't last more than 5 months. The sealant started look dingy by January. Then by April it started to peal and still looked grey. I tried power washing which I was told I could do, and it only made the sealant peal more. With the pictures attached. One (the darker in color) is what the patio should look like. A shine plus antique coloring. The other picture is where the color has gone, the sealant has pealed. The white color shouldn't be there.

The owner personally came out to give me a bid and explained various options for the repair. He accompanied and worked with his crew to complete the repairs, and, although the job took 2 - 3 hours longer than he anticipated, he charged no more than the original bid. I highly recommend this company for the quality of workmanship, professionalism, and price. I will definitely use them in the future!

Excellent results. Built concrete steps with large patio. Attractive pattern with proper grade. This gives a paver-like effect without all the maintenance headaches of pavers. Mike Mason and crew paid attention to detail and demonstrated expert craftsmanship. Our neighbor also had a stamped concrete patio installed and is equally satisfied with the results. They were phenomenal. They were just really good. I would absolutely use them again.

Mike Mason Jr came to perform the work on Monday this week and did a fine job power washing the patio before applying the base set of colour. Unfortunately a thunderstorm blew through and washed away most of his work. Rain returned on Tuesday but had dried up by Wednesday. Mike came back on Wednesday morning, reapplied the colouring, and then sealed the entire patio and it looks fantastic!! Everyone at Mason's communicated very well with us and were easy to reach when we had questions. We would highly recommend them to others looking for similar work.

The estimate was for a quality of work that exceeded the town's specifications. Since they had agreed to pay part of the cost of the repair, I could not agree to use the Mason proposal.

The work was excellent and completed on time even with weather problems. The crew worked steadily and were professional. All excess and waste were removed and the lawn cleared of any remaining chips or dirt. No problems at all.
