We are a family owned and locally Operated , We accept all forms of payment, Senior citizens receive 10% discount on repairs 65 and older

"Be prepared to pay a travel/diagnostic fee of $79 and change, plus $80/hour labor, plus parts PER MACHINE in your house. If you say your machine is making a grinding noise and clothes come out wet, they assume you know what is wrong with the machine and that you're saying that the machine isn't draining--as if you an expert who has diagnosed your own machine. If the repair person does a check on parts of the machine, diagnoses one issue (but not all issues) that is the cause of your machine's functioning, and if the repair person changes a part, but your machine isn't still fully working, you will pay extra hourly labor for another visit. Paying for parts is one thing, paying labor when the first diagnosis wasn't correct or full is another thing. Paying multiple travel fees to visit the same house is also strange, compounded by adding these costs to the hourly labor. Our machines were half fixed. We'll find a good community partner to service our machines in the future."

Owner-operated HVAC specialist with extensive experience in Geo Thermal Units.

"Gibbs replace our furnace and AC a year ago. Job went great. I needed our hot water heater replaced and thought of Gibbs first. I called. Jeremy and one of his team came out and replaced the hot water heater. What I was really impressed with is they used towels and wiped down the pipes, the hot water heater, and wiped the floor. Looks better than it did before. Very professional and reasonable. I recommend and will use again."

We have been in business since 1987. We have a reputation of honesty, and try very hard to live up to that name. Mention you saw us on Angie's List, and we will give you $5.00 off your next service. Thanks for giving us a chance to help you out. Hope to see you soon! Jim and Anita

"My experience with this company has been HORRIBLE! I have a older electric clothes dryer that was displaying multiple issues, but still functional. My previous and awesome repair company was not able to service the dryer due to a move, so I called Trustworthy Appliance Service after checking Angie's List. I was first interested in a diagnosis to determine if the repair was worth it (versus replacement) and listed the numerous symptoms for the technician, including a hot-smelling motor when running. He immediately, WITHOUT LOOKING AT OR TURNING ON OR TOUCHING the dryer, made a diagnosis as a blower fan, gave me a quote for what he assured would resolve all issues, and completed the repair. Within a few days, the dryer quit working completely - it would not turn. I called the company, and the owner consented to a refund once the technician came and checked to make sure it wasn't just a "loose wire" as I would not have consented to spending more that already paid on a repair, had it been diagnosed correctly in the first place. Meanwhile I am without a dryer and must use the laundromat. Upon the second visit, the technician said it was a broken belt (totally consistent with the original hot motor symptom!!) and so I called to confirm refund needed after declining a free belt. I received no call back from the company after three days and had to call back (Geraldine originally said she would need to contact the owner the following day to pass along paper work to get final authorization from the owner for the refund and she would call back to process). The owner then tried to argue that the technician could have fixed for free the undiagnosed belt issue and acted as if he did not have the details of the case even though he had authorized the refund contingent upon a re-check by the technician (Jimmy) several days prior via Geraldine (office staff). Finally after frustration and argument, the refund was authorized and I will NEVER call this company again!"

It is just me,but I do have help when needed.I will do sub-contracting.

"DO NOT HIRE THIS MAN! We initially hired Scott after he responded to an on line local group. He was kind, sincere and met my husband at our home to review contract. His prices were 1/3 of the competitors. The Job was for electrical work in our new home was over 8,000. He seamed eager to be of assistance. Though he we hired him for odd jobs at our existing home while our new house was being built by the Amish, he was usually late and seemed plagued with excuses of health issues or family trouble that kept him from completing a project in a timely manner. But in the end, he came through with those small jobs. When the new house was ready for electrical work back in mid June, he was at the house daily. He had a small crew of teenage sons and a friend at times. Work was slow but he plugged along. We liked his sincerity, his down to earth spirit, so we hired him for the plumbing job as well. He continued to be attentive and aimed to please us, though work was slow. We then hired him for other jobs in the home that he said he could easily get done. From approx June to Aug,, Scott was down here approx 5 days a week. He had a couple health episode, a son's legal problem, a stalled vehicle of his and his son that kept him from coming to property at times but we were very understanding. It just gets worse from here. Many projects, were poorly done. Scott failed to cap off simple T drains and many of our household items, including family heirlooms , we were storing in the basement of the new home were covered in grey water from the toilet. Although we cleaned them some heirlooms, others had to be trashed. He was slow to fix the problem and we had further leaks from his plumbing job. He bought our AC /heat pump and furnace from a scratch and dent dealer in Lebanon with no warranty. Unbeknownst to us. He asked for money for duct work, that we provided to him and never got it. He would ask for money to purchase materials and never produce the items. He seemed to have a of days where he had to show up for child support court. and sometime at the end of August, he claimed his bank account was frozen by the courts and he was unable to produce items we had already paid him to purchase. He then began not answering calls, not showing up, It became a daily game of asking him if he was coming, him telling us that he would be there at a certain time and never showing. In the last 3 weeks we have seen him at the house approx 5 times. And he stayed for approx 1 -2 hours. The last straw was after 4 days of not answering calls and not showing up, he showed up an hour late, and as soon as I had left to run and errand, he left right behind me, not to answer the phone at all. We offered to help him in gas money to get down to Rockville from New Richmond, pay extra adult crew members just to get the house moving His reponse was always that he was going thru a hardship and we are his first priority. And that he WAS going to get us done. His last message to me was a cryptic complaint that he didn't like it that we doubted his abilities after pointing out some serious concerns in his work. The current state of our house? We have no duct work, we have 20% of electrical not done. A bathroom not done, Insulation gaps in the ceiling, railing that has been purchased but not done. a furnace and AC unit with no warrantly and it is coming into late September. We fronted him on painting, flooring and setting up kitchen. This is only started and a long way to go to be done. We are out over 30 K in monies. We finally fired him yesterday after being here for one hour and never calling us back to speak with us personally. We have asked for some monies back. And have contacted a lawyer for litigation. Don't be fooled by his kindness or sincerity. He is a charlatan and is plagued with unfortunate events in his life that prohibit him from actually finishing his job. I believe this is his M. O. and needs to be shut down."

"I ordered a part and ended up not using it as that was not the problem with the washer. They have a return policy, which I followed, only to be told I could not have a refund because the part appeared to have been attempted to be installed. This is not the case. In fact, the part was never removed from the box. They either sent me a used part or use this excuse to keep the consumer's money. Either way, it's a scam, they now have my $100 and the part."

Appliancezone.com is a leading on-line retailer of appliance parts and accessories for do-it-yourself homeowners. Incorporated in 2008, it was started by CEO, Jim Allen and his wife Paula, who operated an appliance repair business for nearly fourteen years prior to starting the internet company Appliance Zone.

"This is the first online review I've ever written -- my experience with this company was that bad. Three aspects that deserve attention: 1) I placed an order and tried to cancel six minutes later. Turns out they don't accept cancellations. 2) I couldn't find a phone number, so I had to work the return/refund by email. The exchange was painful -- so unhelpful I felt like I was interacting with a bad chatbot. 3) I ended up eating shipping costs (expected) and got hit for a 50% restocking fee (unexpected) because I refused the package instead of paying to ship it back. Didn't matter that it went to the correct address, was clearly labeled, and had prior return authorization. So I ended up with a $21 refund on a $60 order, and a lesson learned about where not to buy appliance parts."

Appliance repairs FAQs

If your refrigerator needs to be repaired, contact an appliance repair company to diagnose the issue and repair your refrigerator. It’s okay to leave it plugged in and running, but unplug it if it makes unusual noises.

Signs that your refrigerator may need repairs include:

  • Food items are not being held at the correct temperature (between 35 and 38 degrees Fahrenheit)

  • The fridge is using too much energy and seems to run all the time

  • Loud and/or unusual noises

Possible causes include:

  • A damaged door

  • Faulty condenser coil

  • Malfunctioning control board

Contacting an appliance repair professional as soon as possible can help save items in your fridge from spoiling. Common fridge repairs include the compressor, control board, thermostat, defrost motor, coils, and ice maker.

If you’re having problems with your dryer, contact an appliance repair professional as soon as possible to inspect and repair it. Having a faulty dryer can be a major inconvenience in the home.

Your dryer may need repairs if:

  • It isn’t turning on

  • It’s not releasing enough heat

  • The drum doesn’t spin

Common repairs include:

  • A damaged or worn-out belt or

  • Damaged or shorted electrical wiring

  • A control board malfunction

Dryers tend to overheat or become short-circuited over time, especially after heavy use. Other common dryer repairs include door switches, timers, and control boards.

If the unit is not under warranty, then you may want to call a reliable appliance repair technician to diagnose the issue and recommend a repair. Some of the most common washing machine issues are inadequate water supply to the unit, poor drainage due to clogging, leaks, and excessive vibration while washing. Like ovens, the cost to repair a washing machine will vary widely depending on which issue you’re experiencing.

The average cost to repair an appliance depends on the appliance, make, model, the part that needs repair, and how long it takes to replace or repair a part. The following are the average repair costs for the most common appliances:

  • Refrigerator: $200–$300

  • Freezer: $90–$500

  • Oven, cooktop, range: $100–$500

  • Microwave: $50–$400

  • Dishwasher: $160–$300

  • Garbage disposal: $70–$250

  • Washing machine: $50–$450

  • Dryer: $100–$400

Appliance repair contractors may charge $40 to $120 per hour for labor, and most also provide the replacement parts necessary at an additional cost.  It’s also important to note that these prices can go up on holidays and emergency fees may apply if you need your appliance fixed immediately.

It's good to contact the manufacturer first to see if any warranties still exist, and if they have any specific repair persons they recommend. Some specialty units or smart units may require the assistance of a manufacturer-approved technician. Oven issues can be more challenging to diagnose than other appliances in the home because many of the parts are difficult to access for inspection or replacement. Some common oven repairs involve replacing damaged burners, heating coils, or electric cables. Purchasing additional parts, such as a new heating coil may also increase the total repair cost.
