Crawlspace Doctor Inc. was established by Tom Saucier in 2002. Tom has been a member of the Bloomington/Southern Indiana community for 16 years. The first 13 years he was employed in the Pest/Termite Control Industry. During this time, Tom noticed that the crawlspace is the most neglected area of the house until a major problem occurs that warrants attention.
Description of Work: They completely closed in, and insulated our crawlspace.

It went excellent, Dave Tarrence arrived as expected on time, perfromed an evaluation of the crawl, discussed a quote, sent a quote with a complete breakdown including suggetsed options. We had one floor joist repaired. The men were very polite, courteous, did an excellent job of cleanup and communicating. After having this done, it makes perfectly good sense to have this performed on your crawl space, the work covers a 20 year warranty, the new sump a five year warranty. If you have crawl space work needed, I highly recommend Dave Tarrence to come out and work with you.
Description of Work: Add drain tile to perimeter of crawlspace, add new location to lowest point of crawl, insulated end floor joists, add plastic to enclose and seal crawl space, add crawl HVAC vent.

The estimate was for $5,000 and we told them that we were going to have to hold it off right now. We were having trouble with getting chipmunks in here and he claims that there were a lot of chipmunk urine and feces down there. They were said that the builder that built this house put in batting in the sidewalls and carried in down along the crawlspace walls. That would sit on the floor and when water got down there it got moles and everything else in it. I called them back to tell them they we'd decided to wait. They showed me pictures of their work and it looked like it was very good but didn't actually see any of the work. He explained things very clearly and I think he was honest in what needed to be done. I didn't get the feeling that he was trying to lead us on because I've been down in the crawlspace. I probably would have gone with him but it was the cost. I did have a little trouble in getting them to come out here. I took him a little bit to get out here, probably a week.
Description of Work: We had Crawlspace Doctors come down and give an estimate in May. They were going to put foam in the crawlspace. He was going to dig out a trench all the way around the crawlspace which is basically the sides of the house and put in spring tiles. Then they were going to put a new sump pump because our sump pump was 16 years. He was going to put more gravel in there and they were also going to deepen the pit for the sump pump.

All this was done during a very rainy month of April and my new sump pump has been running almost non stop. I can only imagine what it would have been like without this work being done. It looks very dry and clean currently even with all this rain. His crew did a great job.
Description of Work: Had to have a trench dug in crawlspace around perimeter that leads to sump pit and then the walls were insulated and vapor barrier installed. I also had some floor joists and subfloor repaired that required a section of the house be raised. A new sump pump and dehumidifier installed. In all it took five business days. Dave 812-236-7644 showed pictures of the crawlspace prior to doing the work and also when it was completed.

We found them through Angie's List. They did a fabulous job. They had different areas that they were assigned to. Tom is the person that be dealt with. He was young, handsome, and personable. There were two people who came out and worked for him. He was very thorough in his estimate that we did not want to call anybody else. He explained everything that he would do and made us feel comfortable. They did everything. They put insulation, vapor barriers, cleaned up all the debris and scraped it out. They put a new back door on the crawlspace and put fungicides. Tom took all kinds of photographs before and afterwards. He also gave us a CD with all the pictures. It is pretty amazing how much work they did for that price. We even referred them to somebody else.
