Matt was superb! He described exactly how the process would work, how its effectiveness would be, and took before and after pictures of inside the ductwork. This entire process took over five hours, and the difference as evidenced by the before and after pictures is remarkable. We had a negative experience about eleven years ago when we lived in Chicago. We responded to a Sunday paper ad advertising a special for duct cleaning. It seemed reasonable enough so we told the rep to go ahead. He didn't do a fraction of what Matt did! He brought a vacuum up to the front door about the size of a 55 gallon drum. Using a long hose he suctioned each duct only as far as his hose would go into each duct. He couldn't even get all of the air registers off. After about one hour or so, he wrapped it up and handed us a bill for over six hundred dollars! Matt's vacuum is utterly huge and is truck mounted. He brings a huge vacuum hose to the furnace which he fits to the upper and lower plenum, one at a time. Matt was very careful and conscientious the whole time. We made sure he had access to all the air registers and he carefully removed and reinstalled them when he was done. He was very careful working around furniture and wore shoe coverings in the house. He explained what he was doing every step of the way. We are very satisfied and happy with his work. We just moved to the South Bend area and rehabbed a sixty year old house. Since the old air registers were painted over many times, I asked our contractor to remove them before painting and install new ones afterwards. I saw the ducts when the old registers were removed, and it wasn't a pretty sight. I can only assume they had never been cleaned. If you have ever considered doing this, you should probably get it done. Do yourself a favor and call Matt, the VacMan. You will get your money's worth and not be ripped off.

I spoke with Carrie Steenbeke when I made the important. Carrie was able to give me a phone estimate. All I had to do is count the registers and she was pleasant and patient over the phone while I was counting. She also informed me the process can take four and half hours. A few day after making the appointment I received a letter from Matthew Steenbeke (the owner) that had a short checklist of things for me to do that allows them to work safely and efficiently. Matthew performed the service and he was prompt, went over the process before he started and when the job was completed he showed before and after pictures of the duct and dryer vent. It took about four and half hours. He was professional, friendly and most of all patient when I had to bring my two dogs to another room so he can do his job.

Matt, the Vac Man, was on time, pleasant, professional, and went about his work. He finished the work in the time he said it would take. He even fixed one air duct that was loose. He showed before and after pictures of the ducts. I was very pleased with his work and professionalism. The price he quoted was lower than the actual price, but that was not his fault. They base their price on the number of air ducts and I did not count correctly. It is an expensive service, but I can already see the results in less dust on my wood and glass so I am assuming I am also taking less dust and debris into my lungs. I was glad to hear it does not need to be done every year, but when I do need it done again, I will most certainly call on Matt's company.

Did a great job for a fair price and looked for little extras they could "throw in" for free while they were here. Matt is extremely involved in and proud of his business and it shows in everything he does.

Matt came in, set up their equipment in about 1/2 hour. The whole process took about 3 to 4 hrs. Matt later told me that our vents need to be cleaned only every 4 or 5 years. The whole process was loud and it was cold as we had to leave the front door open for the equipment. I found the company easy to work with, and they did a good job.

This company is based out of Grainger, IN, however, I would recommend them to any consumer FIRST. They cleaned the burner area of our furnace, located a gap in our air ducts which they promptly repaired and sealed, and did an extremely thorough and professional job of cleaning all of our return and supply air ducts. They have been in business for a long time, they are a family run business, take pride in their work. Any homeowner considering having their ducts cleaned should use this company-based upon our experience. Thanks.

I couldn't be happier with Matt's work. He was punctual, professional, and friendly. The duct cleaning only took about four hours from roughly 8am to noon. I had reviewed AngiesList ratings and contacted many local companies so that I could make an informed decision. I feel I made the right decision, and I will call VacMan when my ducts need cleaning again many years from now. I also recommend VacMan to friends and family.
