The work was outstanding and we couldn't be happier, the pricing is very fair and their guys are very personable and professional. They did tasks that were over and above what was required. I would highly recommend them to anyone. I will definitely use them again.

Glenn came to provide the estimate, which was competitive. We engaged Glenn to perform the work and agreed an approximate date. Glenn subsequently had to delay one week due to unforeseen circumstances, but met the second date. His team were punctual, professional and courteous; and always cleaned the job site at the end of the working day. I was very pleased with the end results and would definitely look to use Glenn Mills Outdoor Solutions for other projects.

Glen was very responsive on the initial bid. He gave us a quote that was very competitive and ultimately we decided his company was the best to go with. The work needed to be done rather quickly due to another project we had going at the same time and Glen had his guys start on a Saturday and they worked on Sunday to get the job done. Well above and beyond my expectations. Definitely look forward to doing business with them in the future. The guys were punctual, cleaned up after themselves and communicated throughout the project.

Glenn is amazing. I met with/got quotes from 3 other companies and he was by far the best in terms of price, responsiveness, professionalism, and just all around being a nice guy. Some of the other chimney guys didn't even bring a ladder with them. I'm not sure how they can give you an accurate estimate of work needed to be done without even getting up to look at the chimney. Glen had a broken foot so he brought his brother to help out, also a nice guy who seemed to do good work (Glen checked in on the project several times throughout). They thoroughly inspected everything, explained my options, and gave me a price on the spot. He walked with me around the house and I showed him areas I thought could be problems, he told me which areas were fine and which I should be worried about and spotted some new problem spots. He seemed very honest, giving me his opinion of what he would spend money versus not if this were his house. After a couple heavy rains we still had a bit of leakage dripping into the chimney so they came back to figure out what else needed to be done. They decided we needed to install a chimney cap/hood since heavy rains were blowing water into the flue. Other companies had quoted me hundreds of dollars for this work, and Glenn wouldn't accept any money for the extra work or the cost of the cap/hood. They even did a sealant over the bricks near one window where we had previously had leaks before they did work, just as an extra precaution and didn't charge for that either. All in all, I would highly recommend Glenn and his guys for any type of chimney/masonry work. Hard working, friendly, professional, very fair pricing, and most important, honest.

He was able to find bricks that matched my house which other contractors said was impossible and charged about half the price!

I had a coupon to use and it took about 1 1/2 years to get on his schedule. When he did perform the work, it was good quality and I would definitely hire again if the price was right. He is a small operation and should have more reasonable pricing since he would not have the huge overhead of big companies. I gave the above rating because of his poor judgment estimating a job. I tried to use the coupon to close up two old opening in a chimney no longer needed for a furnace. He said it would take a full day for two people to do the work. I hired another masonry and one person did the work in one hour. Go figure.

I used the Quote request function on the Angie's List website with exactly the same verbiage on 2 other providers in addition to this one. The other two responded promptly, and I awarded a $1,200 job. This company did not respond to the request at all.

Glenn and his team were fantastic. They were able to fit me in on a Saturday, only a few days after we agreed on the project. The work was done quickly and efficiently, including full a clean up. They greatly improved the value of my property by giving it a solid foundation with a crisp look. I would have them bid on any future projects and look forward to hiring them in the future.

Purchased a Big deal for Glenn Mills Outdoor Solutions. I had some cracks in the outside concrete and they repaired it. The service went very well.

They did a great job. There were a couple days of rain, and they communicated very well by phone how the weather would affect the timetable. Overall we are very happy - highly recommended.

The timing wasn't right for us to actually have the work done but we will definitely use him in the future.

Glenn and I miscommunicated about when he'd be out to the job so when we got on the same page, he was out here on the day we decided and cemented/repaired the cracked and falling apart outside corners of my foundation. He went ahead and repaired some other spots along the foundation because of the miscommunication that we'd had earlier. I thought that was very nice of him. It looks lots better than I thought it would and looks as if it will hold up for years to come.

I found him on Angie's List and he did a fantastic job. He will actually do the work himself and does not sub-contract it out. The only problem with this guy is that he is so in demand with a backlog of work that he will not be on time.

He was great. He was really busy so I could not get him at first. I bought a Big Deal which he extended since he was so busy. He did a great job and I was pleased he extended the deal for me.

All work was done well on the chimney repair. However, little bits of masonry were not picked up off the deck below the chimney.

We had used Glenn Mills for masonry repairs previously (re-grout stone steps of main steps into building) and his work then was very well done and reasonably priced. This time we needed the mortar replaced on some other exterior stone steps and the concrete of a corner of the foundation of the building repaired (the corner concrete had cracked off for some reason). Employees for Mr. Mills came to do that work as scheduled. While the mortar work was good, the concrete corner repair was a different color of concrete (Mr. Mills in his bid for the job had said he would match the concrete). When I called Mr. Mills about this, he said he would come to look at it. Before he got here to do that the concrete corner repair also cracked. I shared that info with Mr. Mills. He did not want me to send him the check/pay him for any of the work until we were completely satisfied. Just yesterday Mr. Mills came and re-did the concrete repair, matching the color of the existing concrete. He does EXCELLENT work and we were happy to pay him (and he gave us the Angie's List discount)! We are going to use him again, I'm sure, for some other concrete repairs (we live in an old building -- built in 1900). Mr. Mills is very professional, fair, timely, and he does excellent work. We highly recommend him.

It went very well. Glenn has alot of experience, and it shows in the quality of work he performs. It was a little difficult to get on the schedule, but I had an appraiser coming so we both worked out a time when he could start the work even while I was on vacation. The work was done on time when I got back. It has been over a year now, and the major concrete repair solved the problem permanently, I believe. I am so glad to have to have my entrance restored to look like new.

Unfortunately, we were never able to use this big deal and had to request a refund as this provider never seemed to have time to fit us into his schedule. We were never able to get him to come out and even look at the repairs we needed to have made. He seemed like a nice guy, and apologetic - but I really feel he should have handled the situation more professionally. If you want to offer a Big Deal through Angie's List, then you should be prepared to handle the response - for both small jobs and big ones.NM

Everything went well... someone came out once to take a look at everything we had and quote us on materials (We had purchased a Big Deal for labor), and then they came back a few days later with the purchased materials and got everything done. They replaced some bricks that were cracked on the front of our house, and they found bricks that matched the rest of the house very closely... and the retaining wall that had a few loose stones was repaired and looks great. They worked quick, and did a good job.

He was very pleasent and efficient and he was very affordable.

he's pretty busy. took a while to fit me in. i was in no hurry either. worth the wait. took about a week. cleaned up all debris. no damage to anything, roof, sky lights, etc. chimney looks good as new.

I called Glenn Mills about a couple of bricks that had fallen off our front porch and several that had come loose on the back patio steps. I also had a problem with water coming into one of our fireplaces. Glenn came out this summer and inspected the areas. He gave me an estimate to have the porch, back steps and 3 chimneys cleaned, repaired and point tucked. This estimate was about $100 less than another company gave me. Glenn was very knowledgeable and professional at this first meeting and answered all my questions. Glenn and his team arrived early the day that they were scheduled. The whole job was done over 2-3 days and was only halted for bad weather. They left the work area clean. The areas that were repaired looked like new. They matched the mortar perfectly to the existing. I called Glenn about a week after the job to report that I was still getting water in the fireplace during a storm. Glenn was able to diagnose the problem as he recalled that the flue liner for that chimney was level with the top of the chimney (supposed to extend above the chimney crown). Glenn came out on a weekend himself to fix the flue liner. We were not charged for this repair even though it was not on the original estimate. We have not had any further problems with the fireplace thus far.
