The work was done so well you can't even tell that the brick sills had been taken out and replaced. The color of the cement between the sills matches perfectly! Workers came on time, protected my plants and cleaned up all the mess. There was no loud music playing, the workers worked hard and it looks great!
Description of Work: 1. Repaired stair step cracking 2. Tuck pointing and sealed left side of house 3. Clean chimney, sealed chimney 4. Removed (7) existing brick sills and replace with new properly installed brick sills 5. Replaced concrete chimney crown

BUYER BEWARE! FALSE ADVERTISING ON THEIR WEBSITE! My biggest complaint with this company is that their website claims that they "gladly accept" credit cards, but the owner insisted that he only accepted cash or check. When I asked Mr. Mills about the fact that his website claimed that they accepted credit cards, he said "Oh, is that still up on there?! I told them to take that off of there!" A pretty lame excuse. I was intending to pay this off over the course of a couple of credit card statements, but instead had to take a cash advance from the credit card so that I could write him a check. The employees he sent did a pretty good job, although they did leave some mortar on the steps. They could have cleaned that up a little better. Mr. Mills also mentioned something about power washing the steps, which they never did. The work along the retaining wall and around the garage looks pretty good, though.
Description of Work: Repaired and filled in the mortar around the front steps. Re-attached loose stones along the driveway retaining wall. Repaired cracked concrete around the garage.

I'm sorry for the misunderstanding . After speaking with you on the phone you had stated that it wasn't that big of a deal to pay with a check or I would have been more than happy to work something out. When I spoke to you in person and gave you a $100.00 discount for the inconvenience you seemed fine with that. I had previously asked the website creator to remove the credit card advertising and neglected to follow up As to the mortar on the steps, We did power wash and used a masonry cleaner to remove the majority of the substantial staining from the previous bad repair. After receiving many requests to accept credit card payments we will begin to initiate this process.

I was quite pleased with the work, and the price seemed reasonable. My only complaints were that there was some miscommunication about setting up the time for the work to be done and that after 2+ weeks I still haven't received a receipt for the work. Overall though, I would definitely recommend Glen Mills Outdoor Solutions to others.

Left note on Angie's list and received a very quick response. He made it clear that work would not be done for 30 days. When 30 days approached, he wrote a nice polite note that he had been ill and would not make the 30 days. He promised it would be complete within a few more weeks and made his commitment. The job was done perfectly. It is impossible to tell that the bricks had ever come loose and mortar color is close to original.

It went very well. Glen brought his son Paul and assistant Adam.to fix the stucco.. Originally, we were to do this last fall; however, Glen had an accident and then the bad weather set in. I asked him if he had a pressure washer to get rid of black moss on my back concrete patio.. He told me I had been so patient waiting for him that he would do it and not charge extra for it. .His son Paul did work for me before replacing bricks on my house. They are very polite, clean and accomodating. They do very good work and I would. definitely use them again. Glen told me they were fourth generation masons. I have found their work very good at a fair and reasonable price. I feel it was well worth waiting for them..

I had a very small concrete project- I just needed an area saw cut out of my garage foundation wall. It was too small a project for most anyone to call me back, but Glenn showed up when he said he would & completed the work very quickly for a very fair price. I would gladly use him again.

It went fine. There were delays because of weather, but I told Glenn that this was a job we had to have done based on a home inspection in order to sell our house, so he made sure to get our job finished before the deadline I gave him.

He removed a stone ledge that had been incorrectly installed and was acting as a water trough next to our window and installed a new one correctly. He may take a while to start the job, but he is well worth the wait. There is a reason why he is that busy. Based on where/how we live and the repair work that we needed to have done, he could have conceivably charged us a lot more and I was pleasantly surprised by how little the repairs cost.
Description of Work: We had had another service provider put a stone facade on the front of our house who did a terrible job and we used Glenn Mills to correct the work.

Glenn did a fantastic job from estimate to completion of the job. I received several estimates to do the work and Glenn was by far the lowest. He showed up on time to give me a written estimate and when I accepted, he gave me a date to complete the work.. he completed the work on the scheduled date and I was extremely pleased with his work. Also, I had forgotten to ask him to remove a stain on some of my bricks but he did that work for me at no extra charge. Glenn is extremely professional and takes pride in his work. I almost want to have more problems with my bricks so I can hire him again, LOL! Seriously though, I am very pleased with his work

Stone step repair. One of the center stones started to disintegrated rapidly this past month. That step really needed to be redone and fast(another provider botched the original job about 3 years ago). Our house is my wife's music studio and next weekend she is having a series of recitals at the house. Glenn was out to the house and did a estimate and 2 days later we had a very nice looking redone step. He was very prompt, professional and polite. From past experience the price seemed very fair.

It went very well. They arrived before the promised time and completed the job quickly. I plan to call them in February, 2014 to repair the porch steps and more texture facing repair on the other side of the porch when the weather permits.
Description of Work: They repaired the right corner of my front porch--concrete and texture facing. It was urgently needed. The integrity of the porch would have possibly been compromised this winter had the repair not been done.

They were excellent, and it’s very hard to find someone to do this type of work. However it was a big deal and he originally came out in the fall of 2011 and his daughter was getting married and he didn't get back to me. It wasn't until spring that I was able to get the work done.

Services were never provided.
Description of Work: I wanted others to be aware that we had a lot of problems getting in touch with this company. We called and left 2 messages about a week apart and never even had a return phone call. We were very clear with the scope of the work that we wanted in our messages, so if they were uninterested or unavailable a very simple and quick call back was all we needed. I think its just completely unprofessional to not return multiple messages. In the meantime, we had two other bids and the work is already completed.

[member name removed], I am sorry to you and to others.I was involved in a very serious accident in May that has caused some on going problems.I have to see doctors sometimes 4 times a week and I am on I.V. anibiotics 3-5 times a day.I try to keep up the best that I can.I am a very small business and I am the only one that answers the phone, provide estimates, etc. On a good note, hopefully at the end of October it will be over and I will return to providing the best service possible from the first phone call to completion of the job. Thanks,Glenn.

Based on positive reviews, I contacted Mr. Mills on 9-17-2013 and he set appointment to come out on 9-26-2013. He actually called 9-26 and said he was only 20 minutes away and asked if he could arrive earlier than planned. We said absolutely. He arrived and was very friendly and personable. We felt very comfortable as we showed him our areas of concern around the house. He explained very well what needed to be done and we felt positive he will get the job done right. We look forward to him coming out in the next week or two weather permitting and we will report on the final results
Description of Work: Mr. Mills provided estimate to do some foundation and wall repair as well as front steps and walk. We felt estimate was extremely fair and contracted him to do work. He stated he was about 3-4 weeks out and would get to us as quickly as possible. We told him that was fine and we are looking forward to him getting the job done

The mortar was a custom color and they matched it perfectly. The quality of the work was outstanding. I'm writing the review 2 years after having the work done and the work looks like new even two years later. They didn't just smear mortar in the cracks. They did it properly by grinding everything out first. I couldn't ask for anything better.

Glenn Mills is a stand up contractor, which is really hard to find these days. I left my original message for him and he called back almost immediately. Despite his busy workload and surgery on his foot, he made sure the work was done within a couple weeks or our first contact. His prices were great in comparison to 2 other contractors I had quotes from, his crew was professional and the work they did was fantastic. He was kind and an absolute pleasure to work with. If we ever need this type of work again, I'll be happy to call Glenn.

Everyone always says to go with the middle of the road quote because the guy who comes in cheapest will give you what you pay for. Usually, that's sound advice. Except when you meet an all around honest, nice, hard-working, knowledgeable contractor. . . who just happens to come in with the lowest bid. Sometimes, the lowest bid is from someone who wants to try a common-sense solution rather than an expensive solution, from someone who wants to help you rather than upsell you. From estimate to communication to clean up, Glenn and his crew were wonderful to work with. The tuckpointing was masterful and the extra attention to details I had not initially noticed were much appreciated. In an era where people lament contractors who are too busy to return calls, come out for estimates, or show up to do the work, Glenn and his team were a refreshing reminder that there are still contractors out there who take pride--and pleasure--in their craft.

He was very busy because of the big deal as well as having some contractor issues...he insisted on doing it himself so he knew it was done right. That made the scheduling a little difficult, but we were not in a huge hurry, and were fine waiting to get it done right. He promised it would be done before it got too cold out and he delivered on that. He matched the existing mortar very well, and a year later, it has totally held up. We had another estimate for this work that was over twice what he quoted us, so I know he has a very fair price. In addition to the tuck-pointing, he recommended we have the house power washed and sealed to get rid of some mildew we had growing under our deck and to protect the tuck-pointing work he did. He quoted us a fair price and we had him do that as well. He's not just going to sell you anything--we asked about a repair in the garage, but he told us how to do it ourselves rather than paying him to do it. I thought he was very fair, trustworthy and reliable, and we would definitely use him again (but his work was so good, I don't think we'll have to!)
Description of Work: He tuck-pointed all of the cracks in our brick with the big deal I purchased.
