Description of Work: A spring in my garage door broke last night when I tried to open the door. I called Professional Door about 8:30am today (10/3) as their name was on the door. They had a serviceman in the area on another job. They said he would be over immediately afterwards, probably before noon, and that he would call before coming. He called about an hour later, arrived 10 minutes after that, and had the door repaired and working again within an hour. In addition to replacing the door springs, he lubricated the bearings and aligned the electric eye to fix another problem I told him I was having. In addition to being very efficient in his work, he explained what he was doing and was easy to talk with.

Description of Work: I had two7x16 aging wooden garage doors that needed to be replaced. I decided to us professional garage doors after a recommendation from a friend and looking at their product at the home show. Because I already knew what I wanted and had done my shopping. This process was pretty simple, we stopped at professional garage door store in Plainfield, In. and placed an order we were to be out of town the next week. But Tuesday of the next week was decided on as an install date. Professional Garage door sent out a person to check measurements and confirm our purchase order. They called to confirm our agreed on install date and time. Our installer call us on our agreed on install date to say he was on his way to the job. Professional garage door did a very good job for us. The installer pick up and cleaned up every thing as he did the job. Our installer went through how to operate the new doors before leaving. We could not be more happy with our new doors. This company delivers what they say at a fair price. I can say I would recommend them to anyone asking me about garage doors.

Description of Work: The technician did a routine maintenance check on our garage door. It had been refusing to go down, but after he applied lubricant and realigned the laser, it worked great. Additionally, he showed me how to align the laser myself in the future if it were to get out of line.

Description of Work: We were given a quote over the phone for the work to be done on a rental property. I got a bill for more than the estimate and called them. They verified my standing as an Angie's List member and reduced the bill to the original quote and said I would have to use my discount next time I called since the coupon wasn't presented at the time of service (even tho I told them how I came by their name when I called; it isn't always feasible to get to a tenant's house with a coupon in time).

+ -1 moreI BELIEVE THEY NEED TO MAKE THIS RIGHT, AND THEY DON'T KNOW HOW. IF THEY INSTALL GATES AND OPERATORS, THEY SHOULD KNOW HOW MUCH WEIGHT A SUPPORT POLE CAN HOLD. WE PAY THEM FOR THIS KNOWLEDGE.
Description of Work: ELECTRIC OPENER WAS PLACED ON FENCE GATE. OVER THE PAST 5 YEARS WE HAVE REPLACED THE OPENER 3 TIMES AND REBUILT THE GATE ONCE, WITH THE LAST OPENER COSTING $610. WE ARE STILL HAVING PROBLEMS WITH THE GATE DRAGGING WHICH WILL TEAR UP THE OPENER AGAIN. I PLACED 3 CALLS FOR SERVICE IN 3 WEEKS AND DID NOT GET A RETURN CALL. I FINALLY SPOKE WITH A MANAGER AND WAS TOLD THE GATE WAS NOT THEIR RESPONSIBILITY, BECAUSE THEY DID NOT INSTALL IT ORIGINALLY, ALTHOUGH THEY INSTALLED THE SECOND GATE WHICH WAS HEAVIER. I WAS TOLD THEY WOULD PUT IN A STEEL POLE FOR US AT THE COST OF $348 TO HOLD UP THE WEIGHT OF THE GATE, AND THAT WAS THE BEST THEY COULD DO.
