Pools of Fun

Having chosen this company for their reputation, we were shocked and disappointed. We were given a project manager who was very new to the company and clearly needed more training and/or experience. When we questioned his placement of the diving board, we were told it was perfectly fine. Only after obtaining confirmation from the manufacturer that it was dangerously wrong did they admit the error and offer to move it. We chose a less high tech board, having no confidence they knew how to install the other type. We were told the new board would be installed in 10 days and we have been waiting several weeks. We are ignored when we inquire about it. Since we paid in full up front, they pay no attention to us at all, even though the board is still missing, the pool was not cleaned as promised, the punch list has not been done, and we have received no training in pool care as promised. We are asking our neighbors for instructions on what to do. We will never pay a company up front again.

Pools of Fun is fabulous. While some may say that they are bit expensive. You get what you pay for. They guarantee their work and are very knowledgeable. Linda in the Carmel store is the absolute best. I love this company.

Pools of Fun is a well run & organized store and service center for pools. They send out a reminder notice a couple of weeks before the scheduled closing date with a list of things to do and when to do them in order to have your pool ready for closing. They also have a sense of humor. Our pool is set far back from the road. The pool guy wasn't sure if their hose for the anti-freeze would reach all the way back or not. He noticed that our neighbor's drive is actually closer to the pool than the street was (our driveway was inaccessible due to recent blacktopping). The pool guy went next door to ask to see if he could pull his truck onto their driveway to do this portion of the closing. He came back and told me that I may not want to invite my neighbors to our next pool party. They said "no" to his request:). In the end, after getting my permission, he backed into our grassy area by the street, enabling the hose to reach what it needed to and got the job done.

No problems this summer at all with the chemical balance of our water thanks to the professionals at Pools of Fun. We have had good experiences with this company for the last 18 years.

Jeff Collier performed the inspection related to our purchase of a new home which had an existing pool. Pools of Fun is not the pool company which services the pool. Mr. Collier examined the filter, pump, lights, automatic cover, liner, and heater, noting any issues. He discovered the pool light was not working and a crack in the skimmer housing, both of which we were able to have the sellers fix at their expense. He also provided a great deal of information about the mechanics of the pool and an overview of pool chemistry, which helped us out a lot.

Found issues with the heater and helped us get the seller to make some additional repairs.

My filter stopped working and it was a month before I had time to deal with the problem. My pool looked AWFUL! I went in to Pools of Fun in Brownsburg and had them diagnose the sample of the water. In the first attempt they told me exactly what to do to clear it up so I could close the pool for the year and they were dead on! No return trips needed to buy extra chemicals were needed. I've found that if I follow their advice taking care of my pool is a cinch. Paying retail for the chemicals at Pools of Fun is well worth the cost when you factor in the time it saves.

THIS WAS A WONDERFUL EXPERIENCE. THEY WERE PROMPT AND PROFESSIONAL AND ON TIME. THE JOB WAS COMPLETED ON TIME AND HAVE COME BACK ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS TO EDUCATE ME ON HOW TO DO THE CHEMICALS.

Pools of Fun is the absolute best. Every person we dealt with along the way was knowledgeable, professional and patient. I never felt ''put out'' when I asked questions. Our pool is beautiful. We are very pleased. I would definitely recommend this company. They were the highest bid, but like my husband said, when you are talking about this size of an investment, why would you risk it.

I had used them in the past and they were fine. They recommended this year that I drain the pool and clean it up because I "couldn't get the chlorine in control". I took the water somewhere else to be tested and this other company told me to check my phosphate levels. It was the phosphate level and I had spent $1070 dollars in chemicals, and a normal season is about $400. I trusted them to know what was wrong with my water. They don't seem willing to work with me on a compromise to this situation.

My salesman (Matt) asked me if I was comfortable to post my remarks about Pools of Fun. They completed my pool yesterday and it looks great. I didn't think I could afford an in ground pool. I was ready to buy an above ground pool from Watsons. My neighbor told me to call Pools of Fun because she saw at the Builder's Show Pools of Fun had a new line of pools under $20,000. My Project Manager called me everyday, and the guys who installed the pool were great. If you're thinking of an in ground pool, call Pools of Fun.

Woody, from Pools of Fun, has been opening my pool for years. He asked if I wouldn't mind letting folks know about Pools of Fun. We did not buy our pool from Pools of Fun. That was a mistake. Once the cheaper bid guys installed my pool, I could never get them back to work on things that weren't done right. It was a very frustrating experience. Pools of Fun has helped me over the years. The folks in their Greenwood store are all great. They help me with my water chemistry. I also have them open and close my pool. That's where I met Woody. He is a pleasant man who always takes the time to tell me the condition of my pool and the equipment. Pools of Fun is a great company.

Pools of Fun just finished our in-ground pool. Everything we heard about them was true...they were absolutely FANTASTIC! The salesman promised my husband and I they would be finished in 30 days...and they finished in just 28 days. Now all we need is some warm weather to really enjoy the pool. Pools of Fun has the best reputation of all the pool builders...and its easy to see why. We paid a little more than their competition; but it was well worth the additional investment. Pools of Fun is all about quality and customer satisfaction in everything they do. My Project Manager called me daily to let me know what would happen in the coming days. I would definitely recommend Pools of Fun to any family looking to build a swimming pool.

At first I was looking forward to Pools of Fun installing my pool. They came out and looked at my existing situation, showed me their pools and left me with a good feeling. They said they could get me a quote in a week. After a 1 1/2 weeks, I called Matt & he said he would get back to me later that day. 3 days later, I called and left a message but still have not received an answer in 2 1/2 weeks. If they can't even give me a quote on time, I'd be scared to let them start work. It's a shame since they are local to me and I looked forward to the plan. I guess they don't care about keeping local business. It's only common courtesy to return a call and I won't do business with them again.

Project was completed in late Summer/early Fall 2003. Bottom Line: Pools should stick to what they know, which is basic pool installation/construction. This design/construction was clearly outside of their abilities. It's 2006 & there have been ongoing problems with the Marquis spa which has been attributed to both mechanical & design/construction issues. I've lost count of the number of calls & visits to my home, but they continue & I fear will continue indefinitely. In addition to the spa issues, there have been problems with the concrete developing major fractures/cracks that I have been told are due to the nature of the pour itself. The quality of service & the lack of overall technical knowledge continues to amaze & frustrate me. The attitudes tend to be condescending with regard to the mechanical issues with the spa. Needless to say, they are real problems that have yet to be corrected by the "professionals".

THERE WAS ABSOLUTELY NO FOLLOW-UP. THE SALES PERSON LEFT ME ONE VOICE MAIL SAYING A LARGER CRANE WOULD BE NEEDED THAN WE HAD TALKED ABOUT. AFTER THAT I NEVER HEARD FROM THEM AGAIN.

WORK WAS WELL DONE. WORKERS DID REPAIRS & CLEAN UP. DELAY WAS A RESULT OF LINER WHICH WAS TOO BIG. NEW LINER LOOKS PERFECT.

THE TECHNICIAN HAD A LOT OF KNOWLEDGE ABOUT LINERS IN GENERAL. HE THOROUGHLY EXPLAINED THE PROBABLE CAUSE AND GAVE SUGGESTIONS. I WAS SATISFIED WITH THE SERVICE CALL. I WOULD NOT HIRE THEM FOR ANY OTHER WORK DUE TO PREVIOUS EXPERIENCES WITH THE COMPANY.

THIS YEAR, OUR POOL WAS EXTREMELY CLOUDY AFTER OPENING IT. IT TOOK ALMOST A MONTH TO GET THE POOL CLEAR AND A FAIR AMOUNT OF MONEY ON CHEMICALS TOO. POOLS OF FUN USES 50 GALLONS OF ANTIFREEZE WHEN THEY CLOSE THE POOL IN THE FALL. THIS YEAR, I THINK THEY JUST LET THE ANTI-FREEZE GET IN TO THE POOL AFTER OPENING IT THIS SPRING. I AM RELUCTANT TO USE THEM AGAIN.

BRUCE HOLMES IS THE CEO AND OUR SALES REP. WE WERE WITHIN DAYS OF SIGNING TO BEGIN WORK AND THEN WE THOUGHT, WE SHOULD GET ANOTHER QUOTE. SO WE DID & THE PROJECT WAS $20,000 LESS FOR THE SAME POOL. BRUCE TOLD US THAT AN ''L-SHAPED'' POOL WON'T WORK BECAUSE YOU CAN'T GET AUTOMATIC COVERS FOR IT, & A SALT WATER FILTERING SYSTEM IS SOMETHING YOU CAN GET LATER ON. POOLS OF FUN MAKES THEIR MONEY ON SELLING CHEMICALS YEAR AFTER YEAR. IF YOU HAVE A SALT WATER FILTER, THERE ARE NO CHEMICALS TO BUY (OTHER THAN MURIATIC ACID FOR $15.00 ONCE A MONTH FOR THE PH.) SALTWATER IS SO MUCH HEALTHIER THAN CHLORINE. MY HUSBAND & I WENT WITH POOL CITY & NOW WE HAVE A 20 X 40 WITH A 16 X 32 L-SHAPED POOL WITH 2 AUTOMATIC CUSTOM COVERS WITH A SALT WATER FILER. BRUCE DID NOT WANT US TO CUSTOMIZE. HE CONTINUED TO COMPLAIN THAT HE HAS SPENT MORE TIME WITH US THAN HIS OWN FAMILY. (SORRY, BUT WHEN WE ARE GOING TO SPEND $75,000 WE NEED TO MAKE SURE ITS PERFECT.

MOST ASPECTS WERE DONE OKAY, EXCEPT THE CONCRETE JOB. THE CONCRETE CRACKED IN SEVERAL PLACES DUE TO NOT ENOUGH EXPANSION JOINTS MADE. WHEN ASKED ABOUT THIS, I WAS TOLD NORMAL FOR CONCRETE TO CRACK IN ONE WEEKS TIME. SEVERAL OTHER PARTS OF THE CONCRETE WERE DONE HORRIBLY. I HAD A CONCRETE GUY COME OUT AND HE SAID THAT IT WAS DONE AFTER IT WAS TOO DRY AND THAT'S WHY THERE WERE BUMPS, UNEVEN SPOTS, ETC. AFTER SEVERAL ATTEMPTS TO GET THIS MATTER RESOLVED, THE HEAD PROJECT ENGINEER FINALLY CAME OUT AND DECIDED THAT IT NEEDED TO BE REDONE. THEY CAME OUT, TORE THE OLD OUT AND REDID THE CONCRETE AREAS THAT WERE BAD. I AM NOW SATISFIED WITH THE JOB, BUT NOT THE RESPONSE FROM THE PROJECT PERSON INITIALLY ON MY JOB. HE WAS ARROGANT AND ACTED LIKE IT WAS COMPLETELY NORMAL FOR CONCRETE TO LOOK THE WAY MY BOTCHED JOB DID.

WE WENT WITH THEM BECAUSE THEY ARE A BIG COMPANY, THE WHOLE PROJECT DIDN'T GO WELL. I AM UNHAPPY WITH THE RESULTS.

POOLS OF FUN DID A WONDERFUL JOB WITH THE INSTALLATION OF OUR IN-GROUND POOL. ALLEN HANDLED THE SALES AND THE PROJECT MANAGEMENT AND WAS VERY RESPONSIVE TO OUR QUESTIONS AND OUR NEEDS. WE CHANGED THE SCOPE OF THE PROJECT A COUPLE OF TIMES AND HE WAS VERY HELPFUL IN COORDINATION OF ADDITIONAL SUBCONTRACTORS. A VERY PROFESSIONAL ORGANIZATION. I WOULD HIRE THEM AGAIN.

WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY TO FAMILY AND FRIENDS. THEY WERE NOT HELPFUL IN RESOLVING PROBLEMS ON PROJECT. INTERESTED IN POINTING FINGERS AND ASSIGNING BLAME. REP WAS VERY RUDE ON PHONE AND NOT INTERESTED IN KEEPING A CUSTOMER.

I HAVE NOTHING BUT HIGH PRAISES FOR THIS COMPANY. IT WAS REALLY AMAZING WATCHING THIS COMPANY WORK. I HAVE NO COMPLAINTS AT ALL, THEY WERE WONDERFUL. THEY WERE EXTREMELY CONSCIENTIOUS AND PROFESSIONAL, AND I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY TO OTHERS WITHOUT ANY HESITATION AT ALL.
