AUTUMN BUCY WAS HORRIABLE, HER ATTITUDE WAS TERRIABLE AND SHE DID NOT LIKE HAVING HER MENIAL AUTHORITY QUESTIONED OR CHALLENGED. THE PRESIDENT OF POOLS OF FUN WHO WS NOT PART OF THE ORIGINAL CONVERSATION MADE A HUGE DEAL OUT OF THE NAME/NAMES I USED TO LEAVE MY REVIEWS WHEN HE SIGNS HIS RESPONSE AS THE " OWNER " AND DOES NOT LIST HIS PHOTO ON LINKEDIN AS ALL THE OTHER EMPLOYEES DO, SOUNDS A WHOLE LOT LIKE THE POT CALLING THE KETTLE BLACK OR A GUY WHO EXPECTS ENTITLEMENTS ....

We paid $350.00 to have Pools of Fun dump the entire winter leaves and debris from the tarp Pools of Fun used to close our pool last season, directly into our pool. I called the office to confirm I was home and the pool gate was open and ask to ask to have the tech call or text me in case they had any questions or concerns. I watched in horror from our security camera as the tech and another lady laughed and dumped the leaves into the pool. “That will be fun cleaning up” Jaci at Pools of Fun stated the tech said “it couldn’t have been avoided” and that it was “impossible” to remove this type of cover any other way. Keep in mind, that they closed our pool last season. Would have been nice to know then. I am beyond disappointed and their response to seeking a resolution was less than caring. The tech texted later in the day saying his phone had no signal and that he was “sorry” and offered to come back to clean the leaves out for $175.00 per hour. It will take us days to clean this and we cannot afford to pay that much per hour. Cleaning our pool will take many days, maybe a full week. Common sense says no homeowner would agree to have debris dumped into their pool. No. One. I have RA and I can no do physical grilling labor without significant pain. Cleaning this incompetence is going to hurt and take a very long time. I’m devastated. We were so looking forward to getting our pool opened and now I’m in tears. The opening contract says to clean your cover “as much as possible” this is why I called. I wasn’t able to do a lot because I’m limited in my capacity. I would have paid more or preferred for them to call me and say they would recommend not to open it. This is the response I received to my inquiry as to why I did not receive a call before the tech assumed I would want all this debri dumped into our pool? I would have rather had them say “we can not open your pool” and I quote: “Pools of Fun has satisfied the terms of the contract. It is the homeowner's responsibility to remove debris from the cover prior to our arrival. There will be no further action taken.” Pools of Fun treated our pool like it was a trash can and had complete disregard for trying to remedy the matter. Our pool is our sanctuary and they treated it with absolute disrespect. How can you be so cruel? You took at pool opening that cost $350.00 to over $4,000 in damages.

While they have fixed the equipment malfunctions the service techs only do exactly what is on the work order. They do not make sure that there are no other issues causing a problems which leads to unresolved issues and additional service calls. How they tell you to take care of your pool depends on what way the wind blows. As a first time pool owner, we were very diligent in caring for the pool as this was a big investment and one that we had worked toward for a long time. It was frustrating to not know what the right answer was because you heard so many different things. Once we got through that caring for the pool was a breeze, but the constant malfunctions were unacceptable. They are not very forthright at the beginning that most of the items covered under warranty for long periods of time are not the parts that break. Once you are out of the warranty zone, Pools of Fun will wash their hands of you in trying to stand by ANY of their work. They will only look for ways to change how you as the pool owner should have maintained your pool to make it appear as if issues were because of your faulty upkeep rather than their shotty work. I would NEVER send anyone to them. I would NEVER recommend that anyone use them unless you want to be prepared to fork over thousands of dollars in repairs each season because they do sub-par work, use sub-par equipment, and will not fix problems that are as a result of those things.
Description of Work: We have had continual problems with our pool since almost immediately after install 3 years ago. To list what we have had done would take a very long time. We certainly didn't expect to need continual service work and have parts and equipment breakdown and malfunction in such a short time after paying so much for our pool.

I honestly do not understand how this company stays in business. Their infamous "We're the largest pool company in the state" sales pitch means nothing to me, especially when they are $17,000 higher than one quote that I received and $22,000 higher than then another. Unlike other pool companies, they do not have transparent pricing. After 2 days from our appointment, I had to reach out to our sales person to find out if they had our quote yet, only to be told "I don't have it yet. Should be soon" and that it is "more than I expected". When I told him that it is unlikely that we will be proceeding but will wait until we receive the estimate, I never heard from him again. Waste of time. Do yourself a favor, call Perma or Jensen's. MUCH better prices and customer service.

This was the WORST service ever!!!! The salesman, Tyler, was just that a terrific salesman that over promised and under delivered. The pool took 8 weeks or more to install. Dates were set and the contractor would no show with zero communication. Colored concrete was paid for, and not poured. When I was out trying to stop the concrete staff, I could not get a hold of our contractor Shane, who I would have thought would have been here for the initial pour. Our salesman Tyler, sends a text, "unbelievable" and never took my call. They finally agreed to pay for a kooldeck, but that will now require an every 3 year maintenance. Chemicals were not delivered timely that were paid for upon installation, and when I inquired with Tyler was told, "What do you want me to do about it? I don't have a pool." Now here we are the first full season and the heater does not work. Since it is under warranty, I call and am told they cannot get here to look at it for 3 weeks. So much for timely service. I then call another company they come out next day, and say the heater should have had a vent-stack and now that has had to be ordered. Until the vent stack is installed we cannot heat the pool. The filter pressure gauge, had to be replaced and the worker said, your pool pump is working really hard because we have the upgraded pump with too small of plumbing. Once the pump goes, which they predict will be in 3 years because of how hard it is working, we would want to get a smaller pump. So we paid for the upgraded pump when it wasn't warranted. I cannot stress what an unprofessional over priced company pools of fun is. I wish we would have never done business with them, and I would NEVER recommend them!!!!

We have been dealing with this company for awhile now. They were supposed to do equipment updates and it has been nonstop problems for the last four months. They did not bother to replace the gaps and it tore due to that. It should have lasted 10 years but only 1 year. They put the wrong cover which was not the right color or the right gauge. We have spent around $7000.00 with this business already. One of the workers was actually embarrassed because of their actions. They have poor customer service and we even recorded the calls as well. They put an evaluation on the parts that they installed as fair. There are screws that are popping up as well. They even put duct tape instead of installing the correct caps. When they went to replace the cover they replaced it with a cover that was a lower quality and wrong color that we already had installed.

The removal of our pool liner and installation of the new liner was a very smooth process. From the beginning, their team was very effective at communicating the necessary steps in the process to fully replace the liner. This included their measurement of the pool, estimates on cost, evaluating liner options, and lastly installation. Throughout the entire process, their team did a great job at letting us know what step was completed and what we were doing next. It was very reassuring as we did not want to miss out on much pool time this Summer, and their quick turnaround on this process helped us maximize our back yard. Beyond the process, their pricing is very affordable in comparison to options on the market, and knowing that they are willing to come back out at any point to help us with any issues (the liner has a great warranty) makes it even more pleasing. Very happy with Pools of Fun, and if you're in the market for a new pool or liner, you won't go wrong with their service line-up.
Description of Work: Our liner was ripped so they removed it, including pumping the water out, next, put in the new liner and lastly pumped in new water in 4 hrs.

I realize this review is about 15-years old, but being a regular Angie's List customer, we felt it is important for people to know what we dealt with when we had our pool installed by Pools of Fun in 2000. We were the first home in our neighborhood and wanted a pool installed. Pools of Fun was the first estimate we received, and our last (which was a huge mistake by us!!!). Their price was below what we had expected, and we knew they installed a large number of pools in the area, so we felt they would be the best company to install our pool. During the planning stages, Pools of Fun recommended we place our pool away from the back of our house by about 40-feet due to possible water run off from our neighbors yard. Never once was it mentioned we could possibly have an issue with our pool liner during a rainstorm. They were more interested in making the sale. A year later, our neighbors installed a pool, and used Pools of Fun. Despite Pools of Fun telling us they needed to place our pool away from the back of their house, they installed our neighbors pool up against their back patio. And, then to help avoid an issue with rain runoff, they built a berm between their pool and our yard to help divert any rain water that could cause a problem. Within a few months, a heavy rain caused water to accumulate beneath our liner. Much of this was due to Pools of Fun and the berm they built as it backed water up into our backyard. Our pool liner floated, and once the rain water below the pool drained, we developed wrinkles in the bottom of our pool. And with every rain, the wrinkles became worse. To make matters worse, Pools of Fun also installed another pool in the neighbors yard on the other side of our property. This house sits a bit higher, but because of where their pool was placed, the water runoff from their yard now goes more directly at our pool. Thus, the water below our pool liner continues to cause wrinkles in our liner, and our pool looks pretty awful. Pools of Fun, to their credit, did try to install and drainage pit on one side of our pool to help alleviate this issue, but they placed the pit on the wrong side of the pool to really help our problem. In addition to this, the neighbors where they installed the berm have the same issues as us. They just installed a new liner in their pool, and within two-weeks they have all ready developed wrinkles. In the 15-years since we have had our pool, we have had a new liner installed three times. It varies, but in most cases, the liner develops wrinkles within the first month or so. Now we are trying to sell our home, and the pool has become a major issue with possible home buyers. The pool installed by Pools of Fun has become a major headache to us. If you have the opportunity, be certain you interview several pool installers and don't always go with the the installer with the lowest price. In our case, saving a few bucks early in the process has cost us much, much more as the years have gone by.

Mike Grant was our Sales Rep and Shane O?Brien was our project manager. They were easy to work with and responsive to our requests along the way. Our new house wasn't ready for the pool installation as early as we originally thought, but Pools of Fun was very flexible to work within our schedule. We were towards the end of building our house and had a lot on our mind. The Pools of Fun crew was helpful to meet with us when convenient, walked us through the process, and followed up with us as needed as the project went along. We had a couple minor items with the pool equipment install to address, but they were responsive about getting everything taken care and did. In the end, no complaints at all. I would call them again.

We can not express enough kudos to Pools of Fun for their fantastic job on installing our inground pool. Due to the cost, the purchase was one that we debated for years, before taking the plunge. And, we could not have chosen a better service provider. Tyler Herman, our salesman, was top notch from start to finish and incorporated everything we wanted, or better yet steered us towards better choices, when needed. Chad Peters, our job site supervisor, provided the best customer service that anyone could ever wish for! He kept us informed every step of the way & had stellar communication in all aspects! He also rocked the schedule, always making sure that the next "crew" was in immediately, with nearly zero "no work" days. (The only no-work day was awaiting an inspection, which is Morgan County, not Pools of Fun's, delay.) Start to finish, our beautiful pool was installed in less then 3 weeks! Every single person from the dig crew, who were beyond speedy, accurate, and impressive ... to the gas man, who ran line into the dark hours, were top notch! If it's a 10 point scale, I give Pools of Fun a 20! They over exceeded our expectations... and for that, we are grateful!

It was a bad experience. I feel the coordinator of the project dropped the ball as did the subsequent person who replaced him. They didn't show up when they indicated they were going to. The work took three months to complete. Subcontractors dumped a load of fresh concrete into the pool. I do not recommend their services to our friends or anyone.

The provider was supposed to open my pool on May 1, 2014. I came home that evening to find the pool was not opened per the contract that I prepaid for, however, a note was left (we are in the cell phone age) stating that they were having issues with the multi-port valve and they would be back Monday to "get the pool fixed up". I called the service department that evening at approximately 4:55 pm and spoke to Janet who transferred me to the service department. I was on hold for approximately 2.5 minutes before I hung up. I called back and Janet had left for the day; before 5 pm (iPhone time), so I left a message explaining my issues with not getting the service completed. I also called my local PoF store to voice my displeasure. The good news is that PoF did send a tech out May 3, 2014 to complete the work. However, the chlorinator was leaking and the top was only screwed on about a half turn or so. I turned off the system, added chlorine, screw the lid back on and I noticed the whole chlorinator was turning indicating it was not properly installed. I then looked at the bill and noticed I was charged $120 for the chlorinator install and $160 for the multiport valve fix. The valve is only about 8 months old in which THEY installed the new one last season! This is the last time I use Pool of Fun for any maintenance needs. Every time they come to my house to do any type of maintenance it take at least 2-3 visits until it gets completed properly. From the phone call to the office to the actual visit, it is nothing but a headache dealing with this company. Save yourself some time, energy, and frustration and find a different company to service your pool.

We debated over installing a pool for several years. After viewing a neighbor's newly installed pool (not installed by Pools of Fun), we decided to do it. We met with Mike Grant from the Plainfield store. Mike is a nice guy, but after this experience, we feel that he just wanted to make the sale. Mike was clearly knowledgeable about the products. He explained the pros and cons of chlorine vs. salt water, liner vs. gunite, and other options. He viewed our yard at least twice prior to us signing the contract. At no time was there any mention of a significant grade of the yard that ended up being required on the south side of our pool. Additionally, Mike said that the heating costs (gas) to run the heater were minimal, and chemical expenses for the entire summer would not be that much. This is directly contrary to information we received AFTER our pool was opened from other employees. And, the first jug of chlorine sticks cost $55. Considering that the first round of sticks were used in approximately 10 days of having the pool open without the pool actually being used by anyone, we now suspect that the costs are going to be significantly higher than we were led to believe. Once we signed the contract, Mike and Shane (project manager), again came to our house to map out the actual location. This was the first time we were told there would be significant grading required. Even at that time, Mike stated that it would be a three foot high difference from where our yard originally sat and where the edge of the concrete would end up. Imagine our shock when the pool was completed and we then had an eight foot drop off with a 45 degree slope. Shane, as project manager, was not assertive. We discussed several issues during the construction process, and he assured us the items would be taken care of. They were not. For example, one of our existing flower beds was covered with three feet of soil during the process when it was not supposed to be, we had huge amounts of leftover concrete left in our yard for days, and a tree that was supposed to be relocated was actually dug up and later thrown away. After discussing these things several times with Shane, we informed Pools of Fun that no one was allowed on our property until the items were resolved. At that time, we were dealing with the COO, Dave Caswell. After meeting with Dave, he said he would get back to us. He was not timely and when it appeared he was not going to respond, we contacted the President of Pools of Fun, Tim Colon, via email and requested a return email or call. Tim never responded. Again, we discussed the items at issue with Dave several times. He came to our house. They agreed to compensate us for some of the damage and fix the other items. The check for compensation was supposed to be sent out in mid-December 2013. We did not receive it until the final construction (grading, etc.) resumed in March 2014. At that time, we were assigned Dan Hignight as a new project manager. We have nothing but wonderful things to say about Dan. He was the only thing that saved this entire experience; however, it still does not make up for the issues we had prior to him being assigned to our pool. Dan was fantastic. He kept us informed, met with us numerous times, and made sure that everything was completed to our satisfaction. There were some delays, but much to his dismay and ours, they were all weather related. Our pool was eventually opened in mid-April 2014. We only have a couple of outstanding items to deal with. First, we are supposed to receive free weekly service due to our issues. Dan informed us that someone from the Plainfield store would be contacting us. It has been a week, and no one has called. We have been proactive and just called the store directly. The store staff had no idea what we were talking about and are "checking into it." Same thing with scheduling the chemical version of "Pool School." Overall, we would recommend Pools of Fun, but with reservations. We felt pretty good when Dan left our house, but we have had to follow-up already. One of our biggest frustrations is that we felt like we were never given enough information. Mike should have covered some of the things more in-depth during the pre-contract phase - like what the chemicals actually cost, how long the pool has to remain open (we were not told until Dan was there on the last day that it has to be open 4 hours per day once it is up and running), what the heating bill will be (Dan said one customer ended up with a heating bill in the thousands of dollars). This is supposed to be Pools of Fun's area of expertise, and we relied on them to provide us with accurate information. This is especially true considering that they were $5,000 to $10,000 more expensive than other vendors we contacted. For this major type of project and the large expense, we as the consumers should not have been required to daily monitor the construction process to ensure the job was completed as we had discussed. We are very happy with the way the pool looks, but it was definitely an ordeal to get it completed.

1. When we contacted Pools of Fun, they were responsive and quick to get a salesman out to our house. The salesman was a very nice guy, he promised the pool to be installed within 14 days after we were placed on the schedule. At this time, we were assigned to a Project Manager, who said it would be at least 21 days. 2. We were required to go to Pool School and the people were knowledgable but it was a definite sales pitch to get us to buy products at that time. 3. There was a huge lack of communication by the Project Manager. We had to inquire every day asking what was the plan for the next day. Sometimes he would answer us, sometimes he wouldn't. 4. We went 4 working days with absolutely no work done on our pool. NOTE: we only had rain 1 evening during the construction phase. 5. Pools of Fun ordered the wrong vinyl liner and placed the wrong vinyl liner. Needless to say, they had to place an order for the correct vinyl liner and we were promised it would only impact 3 hours of our swim time, which would be the time it would take to empty the pool, replace the liner and fill it back up with water. This wasn't true because now we had to start all over with really cold water. 6. The correct liner came to Pools of Fun on a Tuesday, and they wanted to schedule the new liner installation for the following Monday. It got installed on a Thursday, but only because we had to argue with them and remind them it was their fault and our liner should take precedent. 7. Project Manger gave us a lot of incorrect information, such as when the final inspection would be done. This was a delay as well. He also told us that we were required to fill out an evaluation form and give back to him with the final payment and upon receiving this completed evaluation our warranties would then become effective. This is untrue. We talked to the retail store who told us that was wrong, and suggested we call the Service Department, who confirmed it was incorrect. 8. Pools of Fun told us that a new Marion County Green Space law prohibited us from using the amount of concrete we initially wanted, but could not provide us with any detailed information. Nor could such a law be found on Google. Pools of Fun suggested we put pavers around the pool and that they would work with the paver company regarding timing of construction projects. This did not happen. 9. When the final crew came out to do their final cleaning, they damaged a plant with their hoses. I took a picture and sent it to the Project Manager where I never even received an apology. 10.We have had our pool in operation for 3 weeks and we already have problems with the vinyl liner. It is wrinkling on the deep end. Service Crew came out and looked at it (very nice service employees) and said they were not sure why the liner is wrinkling so badly but would have to drain the pool and fix the liner. I had taken pictures of the wrinkles in the liner and the service crew asked if I would text them to the Project Manager and they would contact him to retrieve the pictures. I did. And, as I suspected, not a single response from the Project Manager. No apology, no acknowledgment, nothing. 11. On a bright side, the retail staff at the Greenwood store has always been kind and very helpful. 12. Could I honestly recommend Pools of Fun to my family or friends.......NO!

Sales consultant (Tyler) was excellent. He offered several different ideas and examples. He listened to our needs and made sure he knew what we wanted to accomplish. He walked us through the whole process and made sure we knew what to expect. He was very responsive to our questions and concerns. He also helped with getting all our approvals so that we could get started as quickly as possible. The project manager(Dan) was very professional and made sure we always knew the schedule and what to expect during construction. Dan made sure he communicated with us daily during the construction process. Any concerns during construction were immediately addressed.

Pools of Fun salesman and construction manager were great to work with, very knowledgeable and responsive. It's a very dirty job, but the mess was less than I expected. I was amazed at how quickly it went in - pool itself was finished in about a week. Took about 2-3 weeks in total, but the weather was cooperative. Only negative is we had to close it for the winter as soon as it was finished, so we have yet to use it! It looks beautiful, though!.

Pools of Fun did an excellent job installing the pool which they accomplished very fast and with high quality. They definitely know this business well and I would recommend them to anyone. Pools of Fun engineers do not have the knowledge to properly install a fixed spa and size the pumps accordingly. This was a disaster. They installed the in ground SPA, we poured the concrete decking around the spa and they could never make it function properly. Their basic problem was that they did not know how to properly calculate flow dynamics and install the proper pumps. In the end they recognized their issues, removed the spa, repaired the decking and fully refunded my money. All at no expense to me. In the end while the Spa issue was extremely frustrating, they owned up to their failure and made sure they put things right. Very commendable! I give Pools of Fun an A+ on pool installation. I give Pools of Fun an F on Spa installation I Give Pools of Fun an A+ on being accountable and making sure that they correct their mistakes in a fair and equitable fashion.

Pools of Fun are pretty excellent. They are always very professional when they come out to the house, and they will explain anything that needs to be explained. When you go to the shop to buy stuff they are always super nice, friendly and helpful and patient with people like us who don't understand. They are very nice. They always respond very well. We had gone there a couple of weeks ago for the opening of the pool as we had closed it in October.
Description of Work: Pools of Fun put in our pool many years ago and they service it and I buy my chemicals from them.

First, we called for a consultation and Tim was very quick to come out to meet with us. He was professional and very knowledgeable and helpful. Tim was great to work with and he delivered exactly what he promised. EVERYTHING went smoothly and quickly. Dan was our Project Manager. Dan was very detailed oriented, methodical, and responsive. Everything went like clockwork. The crews were polite and left the site orderly and picked up at the end of each day. We LOVE our pool and we enjoyed working with the Pools of Fun team! After our final walk around today Dan said that even though the project is done, we should feel free to call with any questions. That is so very much appreciated! Love the pool and the Pools of Fun team!
