The estimate process went well.

Starting in February, I called 2 Angie list Contractors for bids. I live in Morgan County and while researching, I made sure my area was in the Contractor's range. Both Companies took my contact info and said someone would give me an estimate within 2 weeks. No one ever called. I called twice. Next, I asked my Insurance Agent for referrals. This time, the Contractors came to my home looked at my problem and promised estimates within a week. After repeated phone calls and no estimates, I returned to Angie's list and found Hayes Construction. Mr. Hayes came to my home, faxed the estimate later the same day. I waited one more week for the other Contractors bids, contacted Mr. Hayes and the work was completed 5 days later. I have landscape completely around my home and the workers were very careful with the tear out. Nothing was damaged.

Bo Pierce called me very quickly and gave me an estimate on the roofing job and labor costs for tieing in the roof of a sunroom to the existing house. He said they would start the work in about a week. Dave and Mike were at our house about four days later and started on the roof. The weather was a factor, and Dave did not want to open up the roof and have water damage. They worked on rafters and roof decking, and when the weather cleared, they cut in the roof and shingled. The roof had a 9/12 pitch, and Dave did an excellent job of moving on the roof. He made suggestions on fixing a few errors I made in building the room, and they worked out fine. Bo Pierce contacted me and asked how everything was going, and when the roof was finished, he inquired if I was satisfied with the job. We have had a lot of rain since the roof was tied in and shingled, and there were no leaks anywhere. I was very pleased with the work and attitude of the company.

They came out quickly to give us a quote and provided us with a quote on the spot. The quote was in-line with all other quotes that we got for roof replacement. We decided to go with another company but had no complaints with this one.

I had called at least 4 different companies to give estimates. Bob came out twice after I called to give an estimate which was lower than everyone else. The workers came out and almost got done in 1 day but the weather cut them short. So they came out the next day and finished up. We noticed that they did not trim the shingles on the back of the house, I called Bob and it was fixed that day. They have done such good work in our neighborhood that 75% of the houses have used Hayes Construction.
