Michael was delayed but notified us of the delay. Service call lasted approximately 1-1/2 hours. Michael was professional yet personable.

They were very friendly. They went the extra mile. Since we'd never had a fireplace before, they walked us through starting it and closing it up, and how to set things up. They were very helpful.

The work was very professional. I was very satisfied with the work of Hoosier Chimney Sweep. They are to come back and seal the chimney crown against water going down the chimney.

He was fun rather than he was supposed to call us back to come back in the spring or summer to fix it and we haven't heard from him yet. He came in and told us what was wrong but between him and my husband, I don't know what the time he was supposed to be but we haven't heard from him yet. He came once but he hadn't called back to set-up appointment to come and fix it. He came out and he was fine. He was good but he hasn't come back to us and come up with a project expense and all that stuff. He's probably waiting for us and we're probably waiting on him. I think he was punctual.

Michael and his team arrived gave and estamate and showed us all about chimney fires and the proper equiment that should have been put in the chimney at concrection time. michael and his team had to fight witht the weather, one day to fix and replace chimney crown than it rained, than snowed. finally a good day and they where right out and finished with the crown. Once their supplies arrived they place the liner, insert, and did all the cleaning in one day. they where there from 9am until 9pm. then again had to wait for the weather to get about 60 and came back and did all the water proofing. they all did a great job and cleaned up all the mess they made. will be back to do the chimney sweeping again and again. thanks again hoosier chimney sweep.

Great service

Prior to the date of service, they always answered their telephone and behaved in a businesslike manner. In person, they were professional in appearance and action. On the day of service, they arrived on time. They explained the process and answered our questions before they began work. They took our concerns to heart (about the overall condition of the fireplace and chimney) and agreed to render their opinions upon completing their work. They performed the work inside the house and out. They consulted on the conditions we were worried about. Some could wait but another needed repairs after fireplace season ends; they are sending their estimate to complete that repair. They took the time to detail their organization and the mutual aid arrangement they have with other of their associations dealers to see that all clients receive timely service. We were glad to hear that they do much move than "chimney sweep". They propose to do structural repairs for us as well as another ancillary service they provide: window washing. We scheduled our next cleaning far in advance.

They seemed professional and had the credentials to do the job properly and without taking shortcuts. Our three-story house never had a chimney, so it would be a new installation. We knew where we wanted the stove, and were limited in where the chimney could go. Mike was very professional, and looked at the area thoroughly. He concluded he needed to go through the wall and up the outside of the house. His estimate was over $7000 without the stove. The estimate cost $99. I asked him to come back and look at the option of going through the walls inside the house, thinking it might be less expensive. This is when it became frustrating. I had to leave work to meet him at my home, and expected it to be a short visit. After all, he'd been at our home only three weeks earlier. He walked around staring for the longest time. Now and then he'd take a measurement and stare some more. After two hours of hemming and hawing, he still couldn't tell me if it was possible or not. I told him I needed a plan. He scratched his head and stared some more. It was very clear he didn't have a clue. For someone who claims he installs and cleans chimneys all over the midwest, I would have thought he'd be able to figure out whether a chimney can go up through the walls or not a lot faster than this. It was as if he'd never installed a chimney before. After two and a half hours without any idea if he could go through the inside of the house or not, I told him I needed to get back to work. He stayed for a total of three hours and finally hinted that he might not be able to take the chimney through the inside of the house. But he was far from being sure. I felt like the job really stumped him. He was the most indecisive contractor I've ever met. I could not imagine him actually installing a chimney, even outside the house, with any confidence that he knew what he was doing. Before he left , he required another $99 for a second visit. I paid him and I told him not to bother sending another estimate. I have since had another well-established chimney installer come out and inspect the house for how a chimney might go up, and he was able to tell me decisively within the first ten minutes that there's no way it can go through the inside of the house. Their estimate for going up the outside of the house was less than half of what Hoosier Chimney Sweeps was going to charge. "Nuff said.

Mike did a thorough inspection and cleaning of the fireplace, chimney and wood burner. He was very knowledgeable and helpful.

I got affiliated with this company when we had a chimney fire in 2010. They cleaned our fireplace and chimney. They are the only certified chimney repair company in our area. They are very clean and neat. When they get done working our place is even cleaner than when they got here. They encourage that you watch the work being done and ask questions as well. They are really polite and knowledgable. I am picky with service providers and they have done a great job for me. I recommend them to anyone.

Mike Stiles looked over our chimney and old wood burning stove and showed us where any issues were and where things were not to code. He also showed us a few options of wood burning stoves and explained the pros and cons of each one. We looked into two different options and were given reasonable quotes on both. Both Mike and Penny Stiles were very thorough and efficient in their help with any questions we had. Once we decided on which stove we wanted, it was received and installed in a very short time. Well within the time frame quoted. Mike was very professional during the installation as well as being friendly and courteous. The work area was kept clean and neat with no mess left behind for us. We thoroughly enjoyed our experience with Hoosier Chimney Sweep, with Mike and Penny and the rest of the staff. We will definitely be using them for any services, such as chimney cleaning, in the future.

Although we did not use this company, they were very quick to respond to my initial phone call. As this work was to be done for my Mother, the information was relayed to her and then back to Hoosier Chimney Sweep. He was very prompt and very professional in all phone conversations. Should we decide to have any work completed, we would contact them.

I would not even think about hiring anyone else to do this job. We have already scheduled for next year.

Both Mike and his helper we extremely professional, hard workers, detail oriented, clean and organized, came prepared to perform the work and reported on time. The work necessary was extensive and they completed it in less time than initially quoted. Penny, the office manager/ owner/extrodinaire was professional, detail oriented, organized and extremely knowledgeable.

We would highly recommend them. We've used them in the past. It was major work and they did a very good job. They were economical. We were very satisfied. The price was competitive and they gave us several discounts for being a repeat customer and bundling several services. We would absolutely use them again.
