+ -1 moreFrom start to finish, Four Winds was fantastic. We bought an older house (1929) in South Bend that needed some significant work done to both the heating and air conditioning systems. Todd and Mike spent about 2 hours looking at the system -- evaluating what we needed (and more importantly what we didnt need). They provided me a VERY fair estimate for the work as well as a prompt schedule to get it accomplished. Once I agreed to the work, the teams showed up on time and were extremely courteous and professional. They finished the work in the time they promised and went the extra distance to ensure we were happy with the system before they left (or took a payment). The most important thing is that the house is now warm throughout and much more comfortable than it was a few weeks ago. I will definitely use them again.

Description of Work: Because our home has a hot water radiant heating system, we don't have air ducts. As a result, for air conditioning we have to use the units you mount on the wall that are connected to a compressor outside the home. Ours is a Samsung, installed in 2003, and we've been very pleased with it. However, In the hottest of the hot spells of 2011, all the sudden my Samsung started gushing water down my wall. I had company coming that weekend and I just didn't have time for that kind of trouble. I called Four Winds and they were at my house within a couple of hours. Turns out there was a drainage tube that was plugged (because we hadn't had it serviced since it was installed), and it was a relatively easy fix. But their quick response prevented a lot of discomfort (and potential embarrassment when our weekend guests arrived).

+ -1 moreTurned on our A/C yesterday and fan kicked in but no cold air. We looked around and found ice forming on the lines running directly into the A/C unit outside. I thought it was most likely one of two things, bad filters or a freon leak, it was a freon leak. The gentleman came out on time and was able to repair the leak and recharge the freon (about 3 lbs.) in about an hour. We are very pleased and happy to have the A/C back. We were also happy with the price for the service.
Description of Work: No cold air from our Central A/C Unit. Repairman came out as scheduled and looked at potential issues. Found freon leak on outside A/C unit. Repaired the leak and recharged the freon.

Would call them again, but selected furnace contractor who had been providing service on existing furnace.

The salesperson was knowledgeable, explained all the options but was not pushy. The installers were outstanding, did a very neat installation and stayed late until all the work was complete, in one day.
