Very honest assessment of current state of AC. I felt very comfortable with the recommendations for repair, including the recommendations to "ignore" one aging part that likely needs to be replaced but that could still outlast the rest of the compressor due to age.

I felt like they were high pressuring me. They came out to service my furnace and told me it needed to be replaced and the technician tried to give me a signed agreement while he was here and I wouldn't do that. Either he called back or came back out to visit, I just told him that I'd accepted another quoting and it wouldn't work out if we are going with them. He started telling me about their management style, about his personal issues which was not of value to me. He was nervous he was going to lose his job if he didn't get the sale. I was like why is a technician selling to begin with instead of a salesman? It was kind of an interesting experience and I just lost my confidence in them when he told me that.

Our air conditioner went out and Chris from Summers came out the next morning to diagnose the problem. He was very thorough and professional. We decided to replace the 10 year old heat pump system vs. trying to patch it up and deal with potential other issues on an older system. Summers beat a quote from another provider and was out the next day to replace our system. We are cool again, thanks!

The provider had originally scheduled me out for six months in advance since they were so booked up. This was annoying, however, they were able to fit me in after a cancellation within two weeks of my initial call. The technician showed up on time and was knowledgeable, personal, and professional. He thoroughly inspected my furnace, explaining to me the steps he was taking to ensure that it was in working order. He identified one part that was worn and needed replacing (hence the $78), but was not pushy to get me to buy it and did a thorough job of explaining to me what my options were and why it needed replacing. He also thoroughly cleaned my air conditioning unit, which required disassembling the entire unit and cleaning all of the coils. He did a great job cleaning the A/C and it looked like a brand new unit after he was finished. Overall great job; this was my first experience with the company and would use them again.

On Saturday evening our new furnace went out, and I called All Seasons Heating and Air as they are the warranty contract from our builder. I called them at 1030 pm and let them know that I had no heat, our house was getting cold and we had a 1 month old. At 330 am and 4 more calls to them and no call back I called Summers, got a call back in 15 minutes! Was told that Ed would be there and he was within an hour and fixed my furnace. Ed couldn't have been any better, he was awesome and very helpful and personable! Best service I have ever received from any company in Summers!

I called this company with a coupon I received in the mail for a $39 water heater drain and flush. The plumber did the work but tried to sell me on the maintenance plan (which was VERY annoying) and also told me I needed to replace my water heater which was under warranty. He showed me an area where it had leaked. I asked him if there was any way that the warranty would not be accepted by the company because it was not currently leaking. He assured me that they "do it all the time". This didn't feel right to me and I called my water heater company. They put me in touch with their main supplier in the area who came out to my house and told me that the water heater would NOT be replaced under warranty for free at this time. He showed me why and the part that had been replaced. After a full diagnostic test, he showed me how my water heater is functioning fine. I felt like the company was interested in the "hard sell" and wanted me to replace my water heater even though it would not be covered by the warranty. Would definitely not use them again.

We came home to a very hot house. Our neighbor had a great experience with Summers on a Friday night call and suggested we call. Doug was at our house 45 minutes after we called and had the AC fixed shortly there after. He showed us the parts and wires that were burnt and no longer working. We were very impressed with their response time and honesty during the repair. We will definitely use them again and would refer them to friends.

Our conditioner air was not blowing. Mike Montgomery arrived and started his inspection to figure out the cause. He looked at the blower capacitor and noticed it appeared swollen and perhaps was not working. After a check on his meter he determined it was indeed defective. It read 0 on the meter. Lucky for us he had the correct replacement capacitor with him in the truck and replaced it promptly. We were back in business. In addition, Mike not only replaced the filter with a new one I had on hand, but he was able to get the finicky wire that holds the filter in place working properly. Other service tech?s over the years, very seldom paid attention to that detail. I successfully used one of their coupons for a savings of $89 off the cost of the fee for Diagnosis when coupled with a repair.

The Technician took ownership of the problem and went out of his way to try to get the house cooled down on the weekend. The part needed to be obtained from a supplier and they had it installed and working Monday morning before noon! Their price for the work was far better than others. My after-hours call was returned promptly by the technician. I highly recommend this company for HVAC & Plumbing.
Description of Work: My blower motor went out on my HVAC unit, leaving me with no air conditioning on the weekend. Their technician came to my house on Sunday with a blower motor, based on my description of my unit, that he had in stock. Unfortunately it didn't work with my unit. On Monday they obtained the OEM motor and installed it before noon.

The provider came out looked at the system and said it needed to be replaced for 8,000 per unit. It was obvious this was a rip off-- they wanted to sell new units. I was not at the site my wife paid and they left after doing nothing. They want to charge people over 70.00 a pound for R-22 Freon when the going rate they purchase it for is 15.00 a pound I understand they need to make a profit but D*** that is crazy. had another come in and the 8200 per unit went to 3200 per unit. This place is a rip off. Plus they could have put Freon in system for the amount I paid for them to do nothing. Never go to this place

The call was received for our $59 A/C tune up and there were 2 units on the property. When our tech arrived, he found all of their windows were open and the air conditioning units were turned off and were not working. Before our tech took any tools off the truck, he spoke with the Mrs and explained that the tune-up is for working units and these units were not working. They were in need of some repairs and were subject to diagnostic charges. She called the Mr at work and explained that there would be a $89 diagnostic charge on each unit since they were not working. After the Mr approved the diagnostic charges, the tech started the diagnostic and found that the first unit was completely out of refrigerant. The second one had a leak on suction line service valve. We gave the options to leak search the first unit and repair the second as well as options to add refrigerant to both systems. We do offer upfront pricing to ensure that the customer is completely aware of the repairs and the costs associated. We also provided equipment replacement pricing options which included both a furnace and an air conditioner. We are happy to answer any further questions, please give us a call at your local office.

I am not sure where to even start. Our air conditioning went out on Saturday. Summers was the only company that could come on Monday, so I have to say they were extremely responsive and prompt. After receiving their services, I am not surprised they were available for a same day appointment. Basically the technician diagnosed our air conditioning as not worth repairing. The technician made it seem as if the only option was to buy an entire new unit, or we would be looking at spending an exorbitant amount of money on the 13 year old unit we have. There were things cited as broken, that upon further review by other technicians, we were told there was no way of knowing if those items were broken unless item "A" was fixed first. Basically we have been told the list of broken items is "Bogus." It was very obvious to me that the technician simply wanted me to replace the unit and not fix it. He provided no other options or alternatives. Every time I would say..."Well what about doing this or that," it was made abundantly clear that nothing but a new air conditioner would suffice. That answer would have been fine, if three other HVAC techs wouldn't have come in and told me differently. Here is the worst part of it all...the quote I received for a new air conditioner was almost $6,000.00. Yes...$6000.00. I was shocked. The tech looked at me and said, "Umm-was that more than you expected?" One of the final quotes I got yesterday from another technician was $2800.00. I understand that this company sells and installs a good unit, but I would have liked straight answers on the alternative (fixing the current unit I have). It's 100% up to me as a home owner and paying customer to make the determination as to what I would like to do about my air conditioning. I felt like I was being "sold" on a unit and that I needed to be "educated" on saving money by replacing something. I am in my mid 30's and in no way do I need an education on where I do or don't spend money on my home. I would warn against paying the money to have them diagnose your air conditioner, only to find out they would like to sell you an extremely overpriced unit. We never got a straight answer on why a compressor could or could not be replaced if something were to go wrong with it. I NEVER write reviews on Angie's list, because I have never felt compelled to do so. I understand that businesses need to make a profit and I respect people in the sales industry (regardless of what capacity) but to feel like you were given incorrect information, only to be coerced into making a huge financial decision...that's not the right way to do business. It's taking advantage of 90 degree weather and perhaps a consumer that may just want their air conditioner fixed and aren't willing to sweat it out for a week (which we were prepared to do for the right service provider). I can't believe after years of home improvement and services I am writing this...Buyer beware.

The GM did reach out and left a couple of messages, but with no response. We did pull the ticket to see what info was provided to the customer. The ticket very clearly stated several items of repair with pricing. We train our techs to be thorough and provide info for anything that they find. We want to educate the customer on their system and then we respect the decision that they make.

I called another company who got there within 30 minutes. Other company looked at unit and he believed there was no issue with heat exchanger and replaced Limit Switch and all has been working fine March and April. he also said the heat exchanger was guaranteed for 19 years so if there was a problem the part would be no cost. He looked at a lot of items and spent time even opening the compartment with Air condition fins just to make sure no blockage. He said the heater was very clean for the age. I do plan to replace both air and furnace but clearly not something you want to do on a very cold day if not absolutely needed. Looking at multistage furnace and air for quiet running and efficiency. WIll probably do this in May/June. Looking at Angie's list for a higher rated company may use the other company I called in but will do my research before making a decision.
Description of Work: I knew i had a limit switch issue. Provider came in pulled out blower barely looked up at exchanger and told me I had a crack in heat exchanger and needs to replace furnace. Because age of heater was 17 years he appeared that he was going to try to sell me a new heater in that the first thing he did was pull the fan and tell me that there was a crack. Clearly the limit switch did not fail because of the crack that I don't believe is there. Sometimes they just fail and perhaps I had a too restrictive high efficiency filter restricting flow which was something the 2nd contractor I brought in said. I could not see the crack and i spent time looking for it. They turned off unit on a cold day and would not replace the limit switch. They offered a 2nd opinion (another person from their staff to come over and look at it...I declined and called another heating cooling company for a 2nd opinion.) I would have been fine if the other company found the same results. Left booklets and quoted me prices on a new unit that they could install with a day.

Our concern is for our customers and a cracked heat exchanger is not something that we take lightly. Our techs are trained to turn the unit off due to carbon monoxide concerns. When a crack is found, we understand the seriousness of the situation and will always send out a supervisor for a second look. But, this is the customer's choice. In this case, that offer was declined. We would still be happy to send out a supervisor to take a look at the heat exchanger. This is at no charge to the customer. Please feel free to call our office to get this scheduled.

Horrible. Summers is absolutely unreliable. I scheduled service calls on 2 separate occassions and did not have 1 of 4 serviceman show up. Please, please take your business elsewhere.

They were wonderful, very professional. The price was right they were able to get everthing done in one day. I have an older home and they had to cut through closet walls to get all new shower replacements set up. It was a lot work. More work than I anticipated. They even left to get more materials to finish the job and I didn't have to schedule another time for them to finish. They came right back and completed the job. They do HVAC and plumbing. They have this paying a yearly fee and they come out several times a year. It was fine. The thing that bothered me was they tried to tell us that our HVAC was being phased out because it didn’t pass a law that Freon was being phased out, which is true. That part is true but they are basically telling us that we had to get a new HVAC unit. I did a little bit of research and discovered that, in fact, that the Freon is being totally phased out by 2015 but even after that, you are going to be able to get it through recycled Freon. There’s really no need to replace anything until it breaks down. They are just trying to do a hard sell on spending a lot of money to get an HVAC that we didn’t need at that time. The price was fine.

Summers called the phone numbers that we have in our database to try and contact the [Member Name Removed] family. The first number was answered and then the lady hung up on the supervisor. The second was the same voice, but we have received no response to the voicemail that was left. With the last service date being 4 years ago, we have concerns that we may not have the correct phone numbers to contact the customer. Angie’s List could not provide a phone number to contact the customer, either. If, the person who filed the complaint would like to discuss their concerns... I got up on a Saturday morning to discover water on the floor of my furnace room near my water heater. I called Summers and John arrived within a couple hours. He determined I needed a new water heater and managed to replace the old one all by himself. I was impressed on two counts: one, that I had hot water again by the evening. I was sure I was going to have to wait until Monday to have the unit replaced and two, John did all the work himself. It had taken two guys to install the previous water heater.
