Stonycreek Farm Nursery & Landscaping

Slowly, but we are very happy with the end result. Told us it would take three work days, but it actually took seven work days. There was bad weather in the middle so the entire project was spread over 2 1/2 weeks. The crew seemed inexperienced and/or unable to understand the manager so several sections had to be re-done. It was frustrating to watch. Our irrigation system sprinkler heads were not moved to the best places. They offered to come back and move them but we preferred to have the person who installed our sprinkler system move them rather than deal with the work crew again. Several of the bushes planted before the cold spell appear to not be making it, but we are told they will replace. It is a beautiful patio now and I would work with them again. Just know to be patient.

In selecting a landscaping company, we felt the following were important: knowledge of the plant materials being used - we wanted to stay with Indiana native, low-maintenance plant materials, we wanted the ability to choose several of the plants ourselves at the nursery, we wanted a company who could handle the entire project without sub-contracting and we wanted to stay within the landscaping architecture of the neighborhood. Loren (owner) listened to our ideas and designed a project that met our criteria. We felt that the project cost proposal was in alignment with the work which was to be performed and the materials selected. The landscaping, patio and irrigation installation went extremely well and was completed in a timely and professional manner by the Stonycreek team. As with all large projects of this nature, there often requires some adjustment after the first several weeks. We contacted Loren to have the irrigation system adjusted and his team responded promptly.

Loren did an estimate promptly, and the work was carried out as scheduled. Loren met the crew on the job and made sure they understood the project. The crew was polite, prompt and quick. The only small problem is there was not quite enough rocks to evenly cover the entire drain, so there is a depression in one part of the trench. This should be fixed shortly.

Everyone which whom I dealt was knowledgeable and polite. They communicated far better, than other companies with whom I've dealt. The work was well done and reasonably priced. I will use them for future landscaping projects.

I was very pleased with the initial plans. The final result is fabulous! Loren helped place each plant and rock to ensure the best initial look and allow for growth. I worked side by side Enrique and the crew and enjoyed every minute. I can't wait to save up to do the back yard with Stonycreek!

The work was excellent. It took a bit more time than we expected but that was primarily due to rain. The price was fair for what was done (although it is always hard to be happy about spending that kind of money.) Loren was always available to answer questions/concerns.

Loren was on time and very helpful. He provided a timely estimate and followed up promptly. We ended up going with a different company based purely on price. We found that he was about 30% higher than the company we ended up going with. Although we would most likely not use them for a project we will buy landscaping products from them in the future.

They stand behind their product. They strongly believe in the quality of their product which allows them to offer a 2 year warranty on materials planted by them versus the typical 1 year.

Loren, the owner, was very good about calling me back and answering my questions. The workmen were polite, efficient, and very neat.

They were able to get it done in a timely fashion. They were the lowest bid. The work they have done looks like it will last a very long time. They did a careful job using very heavy stones. The stones selected seemed to be appropriate. There was no mortar. There is less chance for the wall to deteriorate based on the technique they used.

LOREN WAS RESPONSIVE AND HE VISITED RIGHT AWAY, PROVIDING AN ESTIMATE PROMPTLY. HE WAS UNABLE TO GET ONE OF THE KEY LANDSCAPING MATERIALS THAT WE WANTED TO USE AND THE WORK WE NEEDED PERFORMED WAS TOO EXPENSIVE FOR OUR BUDGET.

THEY DID NOT PUT ANY MULCH ON THE AREA AROUND THE TREE. I HAD 2 OTHER LANDSCAPERS PLANT TREES AND THEY BOTH PUT MULCH AROUND THE TREES. WHEN I CALLED STONEYCREEK, THEY SAID THAT THEY DON'T PUT MULCH AROUND TREES BECAUSE IT MIGHT NOT MATCH THE OTHER MULCH. THEY ALSO CHARGE A DELIVERY FEE OF $29.75, AND WE LIVE NEXT DOOR TO THEM!

LOREN, THE OWNER, LISTENED TO WHAT I WANTED: EASY MAINTENANCE PLANTS, HARDY, SLOW GROWING, ETC. HE CHOSE ONLY THOSE TYPES OF PLANTS. HE AMENDED THE GROUND, PLANTED, AND KEPT CHECKING BACK TO SEE IF THE WORKERS WERE DOING A GOOD JOB. THE MOST IMPORTANT, HOWEVER, IS THAT HE LISTENED TO MY REQUIREMENTS AND DID NOT TRY TO TALK ME INTO ANYTHING.

THESE GUYS WERE TERRIFIC. THEY WORKED WITHOUT TAKING A BREAK FOR TWO WEEKS. TRUE WORKMANSHIP, HIS KNOWLEDGE AND WORKMANSHIP ARE SUPERIOR. VERY RESPONSIVE. THE OWNER CAME TO MY PROPERTY AND WORKED WITH ME ON THE DESIGN FOR TWO WEEKS.
