Exceptionally! I just want to praise this crew, headed by Jesse Lee: Mario Smith, Mark Kleitch, and Jesse Lee, who had actually read one of my books --he discovered this as he was packing them. Arrived on time! --very punctual! Handled even flowers from my father's funeral in 1980 very well! --everything was put into the storage units to my satisfaction; could scarcely open the door of the storage unit, at first, because f how well space was utilized, and as I'm paying for space, utilization of it is crucial! --every inch; every centimeter seems to have been used. Chris, I just want to say how pleased I am so far! I've praised Jessie Lee and his crew heartily and tremendously! What a fine difference they're making in work that remains to be done! --when this house sells, and I move into a new place, I want this same crew to unload all these boxes! Please praise them and thank them again for me! I will recommend this crew to everyone! Thank you! --and please thank Jessie! --I'll see this crew tomorrow to actually unload all these boxes into a storage facility that I've already rented! --please also send me individual emails so that I may thank each of them this way! --will see them in the morning about 9:00am; hope to motivate my son to complete his side of the basement, then that level will be finished! --thanks to that marvelous team! --his side is holding up progress, and I need ideas to motivate him so that the basement and the house can be finished. Please let me know whatever you can think of. Thank you so much. Turns out that Jesse himself had read one of my books when he was in school; if they weren't all packed, I'd sign and give one of them to all of the crew, but the focus is on moving, and not on my identity as a writer. Just wanted it met you know how pleased I am already!
Description of Work: Moved all my belongings, furniture and breakables, including delicate objects I'd had for over forty years from a house I'm selling --came in punctually and packed the boxes: including 8,000 books. I called Juan with Morse Moving to schedule an appointment for him to provide an on site estimate for our upcoming move. As he was driving, I emailed him my information so he could call me back at a more suitable time. It took about 24 hrs for him to call me. We spoke and scheduled an appointment for an afternoon later in the week. A half hour before the scheduled appointment time Juan called and asked if the appointment could be rescheduled as he had a family obligation he had forgotten about when we first scheduled. I was more than willing to accommodate this request. We rescheduled for 9/4/13 at 6pm. By 6:50 pm on 9/4/13 I finally called Juan to see if he was on his way (he had not called to say he was running late or needed to reschedule). He was not. He had completely forgotten about our appointment. He was very apologetic and offered to reschedule, which I declined. If they can't keep track of appointments and schedules for estimates, how can they be counted on to show up on move day?

Dear (removed member name), I am terribly sorry for the inconvenience I have caused. I made the mistake of putting the appointment on the wrong day in my calendar. I take full responsibility and I know that your time is verry important to you. I personally have one of the highest quality records in my company and I also understand that customer satisfaction is the most important aspect of my industry. As I stated on the phone to (removed member name) I would like the opportunity to make it up to you. Please let me know if there is anything that I can do to help you move. Once again. Sorry for the inconvenience. Best regards, Juan Rivera Regional Manager Morse Moving / Allied Van Lines 317-496-1584

I searched the internet and selected Morse because they were close to my sister's condo and had an A+ rating. I asked for packing and moving and informed them that she had a lot of books to pack, etc.. I received the estimate and thought it was awfully low for packing needs. I called and Shannon said that it was accurate. I also asked if they wanted to come in early for the packing part, and she said that would not be necessary. (Later she would deny this and claim that I had never asked for packing, and had never mentioned that I had a lot of books.) When they had not shown up by noon on the scheduled date, I called. They then explained that they were having trouble getting a driver although they had not called to inform me. Finally, around 5:00PM, a truck arrives with three people. I asked them how long it would take to pack the house, and they said that they didn't know they were packing had no packing supplies. The three who showed up were polite, but totally at a loss since they had not been informed either. (One of them told me that this was not the first time it had happened.) The driver called the office and explained the situation. They then said that a truck with packing materials would be there the next morning, and they would send a new estimate to my cell which they did. I agreed to new estimate, but they did not show up the next morning either. I called and they said their driver had a family emergency, and they didn't have anyone else and that I was just out of luck. They offered to do it the following week (which meant that my sister would remain in a nursing home another week). Finally, I just cancelled the whole thing, called my family who brought a caravan of pick-up trucks to get enough of my sister's belongings into her assisted living residence so that she could move in. The real slap in the face comes when you call Morse and listen to voicemail recordings telling you that this is a family owned business and therefore they really CARE about their customers. Not true. Not one family member ever called, ever apologized, and, in the end, Shannon was quite rude. PS During my first call, they were having problems with their phone system. They explained that it was new and they were still getting used to it. A month later, they were still having trouble and still explaining that it was a new system.

Morse packed our entire home and Allied loaded and moved the load. Abraham, the driver, and his team worked hard and professionally. We were very happy with the service. If we had one complaint, it was that he didn't check out the location in SF. It turned out that he couldn't get close enough to our house with the big truck and he needed to rent a shuttle truck to complete the mover. This meant that although he got to the house at 8 am as promised, it was well after noon before any furniture began to be unloaded at the house. If he had checked out the location, the unload would have started on time and they would have been done long before the 9:30 pm time they finished.

I hired this company to do a simple moving job. They overbilled me according to what was originally quoted and the workers showed a lack of professionalism and urgency. When the movers showed up with coffee and cigarettes in hand and while on the clock they continued to talk amongst themselves before getting to work costing me about 15 minutes of expenses. The movers also were not moving with the greatest of urgency. They lured me in with their lowball estimate but when the bill was issued, an overcharge was issued. I called the HQ immediately following this overcharge and found that they were not standing by what was the original agreed upon price.

Response from Morse Moving And Storage- Allied Van Lines
I spoke with [member name removed] after his move was complete and he did not mention that the crew arrived with coffee and cigarette's costing an additional 15 minutes. Had he brought this to my attention I would have gladly removed the 15 minutes from his total bill. During the course of our conversation the only time dispute that [member name removed] had mentioned was that he did not want to pay for the trip charge of one hour. This charge is standard on all of our local moves and was included in [member name removed]original estimate. The final bill is based on actual time and [member name removed] did express that he understood. His actual move took 30 minutes longer than estimate.

A last minute move - original company did not put me on the schedule, I had to move that day. Called Morse and they fit me in and did an excellent job - I had everything packed. They disassembled my bed and reassembled in at the new apartment. It was a 2 1/2 hour drive one way. They unloaded and had a distance to cart the boxes/furniture to my new apartment on the second floor. Good attitude and professional to the end. While it was a little more than I wanted to spend, it was worth it. I would use them again in a heartbeat.
Description of Work: I had everything packed. They disassembled the bed and reassembled at the other end. They loaded all the boxes. They also packed my flat screen TV and re-attached to my entertainment unit. When it came to unloading, they had quite a distance to cart my boxes / furniture and it was a second floor apartment.

They showed up on time, were very congenial, and moved everything into our new place without any delays. They removed doors to get larger items into rooms Everything was moved in and placed, without any scratches on furniture or damage to walls on home. We have no complaints and would highly recommend them to anyone considering a move.

We moved from Indianapolis to the St. Louis area and wanted to use a reputable mover. The St. Louis realtor recommended Allied, so I contacted the local Allied rep, Morse Moving. Jack Martin came out and did an in depth home inventory and gave me an estimate. I told him I was going to check him out on Angie's List. He warned me that there was a terrible review written. Despite the bad review, I decided to go ahead with Morse and it was a good decision. They have been great to work with from start to finish. We had to change things several times and they kept rolling with each change to pick up, hold, and deliver our things to our new home. Our driverwas Eric and he and his team were professional, curteous, hard working, upbeat and fun. I appreciate all everyone did to make our move as easy as possible and I would recommend Morse Moving to anyone.

It was a nightmare. After they destroyed my property, I called up Angie's List, that's why I am a member. They ruined thousands of dollars' worth of stuff and they lost stuff. They gave me stuff that didn’t belong to me. I had to make them take it back. The damage was not done while it was in storage; it was either done putting it in storage or taking it out. I would tell others to stay away from Morse. The price was average, that's why we chose them. They were kind of in between the high and the low. With regard to responsiveness, in the beginning they were fine but not in the end when I was trying to get someone to respond to my complaints. They were punctual. I told my neighbors not to use Morse.

In mid July 2011, the contents of my home (119 boxes) were packed by Morse Moving employees. The following day, five other Morse employees arrived to wrap the furniture pieces and to move the boxes and furniture on to a moving van. An antique wardrobe was broken by one of the movers due to mishandling. I was told that it would be reported and repaired before the move to the new house. The contents of my home were stored at a Morse storage facility for five weeks prior to being moved to our new home. During the weeks preceding the move to the new home, we contacted Morse Movers and the Claim's office several times to inquire on the status of the wardrobe. We received conflicting statements. The third week of August, Morse Movers delivered the boxes and furniture to our new home. The wardrobe had not been repaired, In addition, 5 other pieces of furniture were broken (all antiques). To make matters worse, 3 boxes containing crystal, china, a patio umbrella stand, and numerous other items were missing. Hardware to dressers, mirrors, etc. were all mixed up and took forever to get sorted. A hardware hinge on an antique piece was never found and we cannot find a replacement. We received one box with someone else's name. And - we received a box with someone else's name and number, but the contents were mine. The damaged furniture was repaired in our home by a subcontractor of Morse. Due to damage the antiques are not as valuable as before they were damaged. Likewise, most of our furniture had cracks due to overheating. (We are suspicious that they might not have been stored in a climate controlled environment for the entire time.) In addition, Morse claim's rep refused to reimburse us for the lost property even though we had replacement value insurance. We eventually received compensation in small claims court. I missed 3 days of work during the damage repair and court appearances. Needless to say, this was one of the worst experiences of my life. I hope to spare others from the ordeal that we experienced.
Description of Work: The contents of my home were packed in containers supplied by Morse Moving Company and stored in what we were told would be "climate controlled and private pods" for approximately one month. After that time, Morse Moving Comapny delivered the contents to my new home. We obtained replacement value insurance through Morse Movers at their suggestion.

The gentleman who came out seemed to get a thorough assessment of our items to be moved. His quote was one of our higher quotes (about $2,000 more) and he seemed to get a little impatient with answering some of our questions.

Our experience was terrible. There were a lot of damaged items and response from this company has been just as bad. They lost the parts box holding all the screws, hooks etc. The pump for our air mattress was lost causing us a loss of $1000 as they don't make those pumps anymore. A $200 floor lamp is missing and no one knows where it is. Our wedding china which we had carefully boxed and labeled fragile was mostly broken. We had an antique crock from the 1800s which was from a family member was shattered. The frame from the bed was bent, and there was moisture in some of the boxes ruining some of our pictures. We called the home office 2 or 3 times and they said they could not find the parts box. I kept having to pursue them as they would not return my calls. 3 weeks later, they told me I owed them $455 for storage I owe them for the month of July. They had stored the items for 4 months total. The total damaged amount was $588. The difference is $133 and that is all they are willing to reimburse me. We just want them to reimburse us the full $588 with all we have been through.

Morse's crew of four arrived on time, introduced themselves, and toured the home prior to loading. They were being paid by the hour, but no one ever appeared to be wasting time. Rather, after working diligently to first load and then unload the truck, we often saw them running to get another box or item. Yes, they loaded and unloaded in one day. Everyone was polite and pleasant. We provided a light lunch and were thanked repeatedly.
Description of Work: Morse provided a residential move from NE Indpls to Carmel. We packed all of the boxes. They wrapped much of the furniture in a clear plastic wrap. Moving cost was $745 plus optional additional insurance.
