John Mitchell Moving/Two Guys & A Truck

Everything about moving in general is very stressful. When John Mitchell's 2 Men And A Truck crew showed up...it was a HUGE stress reliever. We knew from the first minute we were in good hands and we'd made the right call. Casey, Tristan and Phil worked like a well-oiled machine, getting right to work. They communicated very well and the result was an amazingly fast and efficient move. Also...not ONE SCRATCH on anything and they were moving some wickedly heavy pieces! Casey, Tristan and Phil were professionals to the highest level, courteous and friendly. We really enjoyed having Casey, Tristan and Phil here and when we are ready to move the remaining items to our new home, we'll adjust our schedule to be sure we are able to book Casey, Tristan and Phil... The support team at the home office was friendly, answered the phone immediately, answered our questions completely...Everyone we dealt with had a terrific enthusiasm for what they do and for their company they work for. Their dedication to excellence is readily apparent. We were also under budget. The guys worked diligently and constantly throughout the morning and right up until we were done for the day. It was the single best component of the entire process of moving to a new home. Remember to look up JOHN MITCHELL'S 2 Men and a Truck....fantastic company.

This was the best move I have ever had and I have moved many times. Thanks to Chris, Angel, Nate, Brad, and Phil for a superb, professional job. On time, stayed on task, handled my belongings with care, and went above and beyond. They even moved furniture around to help me decorate at my new place. WOW!

It went very well, except the quality of the boxes sold to us was substandard.

Chris, Kody and Nate did an excellent job and were very professional. They padded areas and placed runners down to protect my home and also moved pictures off the walls so not to bump them while moving the furniture. Got the job done quicker than the estimated time which I appreciated. I will use this mover again!

The movers were really professional and communicative. The company sent a guy to our house before the move to swag how much we had, and he was really nice, really honest, and pretty precise about the actual time our move took. The guys doing the actual move were similarly professional and easy to work with. Overall, we're really happy with the move and would highly recommend this company for local/semilocal moves.

What an easy move! We did it in 3 stages. No extra charges, just very pleasant workers who were cooperative and friendly. Novel experience! Would absolutely recommend them for large or small moves.

The men, Casey and Tristan, were very professional, worked quickly, and were very careful with my furniture. I had a couple of large pieces that proved to be difficult but they figured out the best way to move them and listened to my suggestions. I was very pleased with the move and would use them again.

We contracted with John Mitchell Moving and moved Oct. 2nd. We purchased the additional "replacement" insurance. Shawn, the owner, gave us an estimate based on the things we thought we would be moving, however we ended up leaving a lot of furniture for the new homeowners. To our surprise the final bill was 32% over the quote even with less items moved. One of their movers stated " Shawn always under bids, you would think after two years of doing this he would know". They also had a hole in the truck and it rained on our furniture, destroying the linen fabric on our sofa and two chairs. One of the movers stated "they still have not fixed the hole?". To add insult, we had to pursue our claim throughout the process. You would think that after your furniture is damaged, you would receive a call the next day. After not hearing from anyone, we called on 10/4 and 10/5. On 10/8 we called and the person answering the phone said the "cleaners" would call. On 10/10 called again, was put through to Ann and she states the "cleaning company" will be calling. On 10/12 still not hearing a word, we call again and ask for the name of the cleaning company (Edmundsons). We call Edmundsons and they state they will pickup on 10/29 and return the sofa on 11/2. On 11/2 we call Edmundsons and they requested to keep the sofa over the weekend. On 11/7 sofa is returned and is worse, the spots are now "yellow" and the fabric is worn from scrubbing. On 11/8 we call John Mitchell and speak to Ann and she states 95% of the spots are removed (not true) and gave us all kinds of excuses. She then asks for us to take pics and send them. We tell Ann, that the pics are not adequate and they need to see them in person. Ann states "yes but the fabric specialist will charge me to see them in person". 11/9 called asking for the owner and again Ann calls me back stating "a fabric specialist was looking at it". 11/12 left a message asking for the owner to call me. 11/13 left a message for the owner to call me. ] 11/13 received a "text" from Ann "should have an answer for you tomorrow on next step". 11/15 sent text to Ann requesting "what is the next step" since we never heard anything after 11/13. 11/15 Ann sends text asking for length of sofa. 11/19 Left another message asking for a return call. I receive a text, no call, from Ann asking when and where was the sofa was purchased. I reply with the info and also how it had been 7 weeks, we purchased the additional insurance, we have been the pursuer, and to this date we have never heard from the owner nor received an apology! I then receive this text "we will be sending u a check for $600 today. According to insurance the sofa has a depreciated value of $900 and $300 was spent on cleaning. I forwarded your message to Shawn who is out of the office. He and I are sorry for the delay. Our hands are tied until we get the go ahead." I responded that we paid $3000 for the sofa, plus shipping plus tax and the John Mitchell Company attempted to clean it after I told them that Linen cannot be cleaned. I also told them that Shawn told us the insurance was replacement. I requested the name and number of the insurance company and I would deal with them directly." On 11/20 finally receive a call from Shawn, he tells me the insurance company would not give us the full value of the sofa. Mind you we have never heard from anyone from the insurance company. He did tell me they would call by Monday. On 11/26 called Shawn, told him I had not heard from the insurance company. He told me he would call them and have them call me. On 11/27 called John Mitchell and left a message the insurance company never called. On 11/27 I hear from the insurance company (Peggy). She tells me her first contact was yesterday and she would offer me $1500. I did not accept that offer and she sent me to a different insurance company. I ended up sending them all the info and again was forced to pursue my claim. In the end, I ended up getting the $3000 however I would never use John Mitchell again. As with any company, a true testament of integrity comes out when they are faced with a problem they caused. They lied throughout the entire experience, did not communicate, did not apologize, were over 32% on their quote yet will tell you they have a high rating!

Excellent service from John Mitchell Moving, beginning with the cordial and reassuring first contact with the gals in the office. Eric, Tyrell and Paul worked quickly and worked hard to get some fairly heavy pieces of furniture moved for us. Tyrell even took some time voluntarily to secure the back onto an old bookcase that is feeling its age, and they all stuck around to make sure the larger pieces of furniture were exactly where we wanted them placed. The price still came in significantly less than the quote because of their efficiency. These are people who take pride in their work and I'd call John Mitchell Moving again in a heartbeat!

Overall, everything went fairly well. However, getting them to answer the phone in the office can be a challenge, particularly the hyperlink from Angie's List. They advised me at the beginning that we would need two 26' trucks for a house our size. When I asked if they would come out to the house to estimate how large the second truck should be, they insisted we needed a 26' or a 20' truck. It turned out that we only filled the 20' truck half full. I really wanted them to come out and give us an estimate, but they wouldn't do that. Three guys came for three hours and worked impressively hard to get everything out of the house and onto the trucks. I don't think they were as careful packing as they could have been as several furniture items had minor damage to them (scratches, gouges, etc.), which I think could have been prevented if the furniture had been wrapped better. Also, they turned some furniture upside down (furniture with drawers), and I don't think they should do this without asking first as all drawers were full of other items (and we told them this). One of the main reasons I hired them was because they also have experience moving grand pianos. They did an excellent job with this. The piano was well protected and suffered no damage during the trip of >600 miles. The guys loading were prompt, professional, and hard-working. I would hire them again to move a grand piano, but not to pack a U-Haul truck.

Eric, Tyrell and Nate did an outstanding job. They move quickly. No stopping, just moving. They we're congenial, courteous and true professionals. Not one problem at all. I got four other estimates from $700-800. Our bill was 379.00. There are no extra charges. We highly recommend this company and crew.

Used them three times to move and put items in and out of storage. Great job every time. We always request Bill and Phil.

We hired them to load our moving trucks. They were outstanding. Their employees were professional, positive, worked great as a team, and hard working. You can tell that they enjoy working together. Many of them have worked for the company a long time and it shows that it's a family owned company. I highly recommend them!

Able to move all our furniture quickly with careful care. Moved piano and treadmill without issues. Got a couch out of the basement we thought about just leaving behind it was so hard getting out. Padded stairs and put mats down and padded furniture on truck. Very courteous to everyone.

Two Guys & A Truck are top notch!!! The crew (Todd, Tory, Bill, Kody and Danny) were upbeat, professional, careful, attentive and helpful in every way to make our move go smooth and stress-free. I submitted a request to schedule a move and receive a quote, 4 days later still haven't received a response to even schedule or obtain a quote. Two other companies responded within minutes with a phone call so certainly chose someone else. Guess these guys are too busy to take on new customers. Good for them.

Quickly done. It’s amazing how much they can pack into that truck! I had packed all the household goods for our 2000sf home in totes before moving day. I was quoted $1100, it ended up costing $700. Prep is key! Lots of glass shelves - nothing broken. Slight damage In one spot to wood floor and they’re sending out someone to fix it. Highly recommended!

Movers arrived on time. Came in and checked what had to be moved out of the 1st location. That took them about 20 minutes to disassemble my bed and move my bedroom furniture. Next we went to my storage unit and they loaded everything there in about 35 minutes. Finally arrived at my new condo and it only took them 1 hour to unload, assemble and put all the furniture where it belonged. The whole time the 3 men crew were polite, happy and very helpful. I can't compliment this company enough.

It went well in spite of a heavy shower. It took a 3-men crew 8.5 hours to move two truckloads of furnitures Including a gigantic fridge and some boxes over. We are very pleased with AJ, Tristan, and Christopher on their efficiency, professionalism, and work quality. They made the impossible possible. They were all trustworthy, caring, and kind. From the initial evaluation to final delivery and payment process, we appreciate the punctuality and respect they showed to our time and possessions! Strongly recommend Two Guys and A Truck to anyone.

Arrived a little late but were efficient and hard working.

To start I called the office and received a response within 24 hours of requesting information. I also received a call the day before confirming the time of the move. They kind of blew up my phone (4-5 calls), but I understand, they were trying to confirm. I was told that we would get a call from the movers that day 30 minutes before arrival, but did not receive it. They were scheduled to be there between 9 and 9:15am. They arrived about 9:30am. Not on time, but no complaints about this, just the lack of call. They did mention there was supposed to be a third guy with them, but it was just the two of them this morning. Overall, we thought things went well on the packing end until we unpacked everything at our destination. There was no real damage. Items shifted and there were a couple nicks and dings which was expected. We did feel the truck could have been packed more securely, but we did not have straps available so that could have been the reason. The biggest issue we had was that we requested certain items be placed at the back (to be unloaded first) during packing because we were going to be pulling them off for storage before unloading into our new apartment. We moved to a third floor walk up and did not want to move anything that was unnecessary up the stairs since we were paying movers on the other end as well. When we got to our storage unit to unload we quickly found out that over half the items we requested be put in the back were mixed in with everything else. It was very disappointing because we pointed out the exact items that needed to be in the back. I even had some of them (not all, so my fault their) marked as storage. We weren't able to separate them from the other things going to the apartment so they ended up being moved by the next movers as well when they should not have. That's why I gave them a C overall. The movers were friendly and efficient, completing the job in an hour and a half. I was charged $300.00 for that time. This seemed off compared to the quote that I received, but unfortunately I did not have the original information I wrote down. It was packed in a box somewhere for the move. I did give them a C on price for this reason.
