John Mitchell Moving/Two Guys & A Truck

Although they arrived about 30 minutes later than anticipated, the two gentlemen came right in and started moving things out with great care and very quickly. They were able to get everything moved out in about 2 hours. There was a slight mix up in that I told them to go ahead to the new home ahead of me as I was waiting on my daughter to return to the house and instead, they waited which added additional time onto the move but nevertheless we got to the house. Typically, the unloading goes faster than loading but in this case it seemed to take a little longer to unload but they were very careful and they set everything back up just fine. Although they covered everything, a large spot of water did get on my leather ottoman and left a slightly noticeable stain but they brought it to my attention. The only thing that was different from the conversation that I had with John was the cost; I paid about one hundred dollars more than the maximum amount he told me that I would have to pay. All-in-all, the experience was a good one. The crew was professional and friendly (not like some movers who seem to have a chip on their shoulders). I felt as though my things were in good hands and they were clearly there to get the job done. I would recommend them to other Angie's List Members without hesitation.

This company did a great job. I had to change the appointment time 3 different times and the office was very accommodating so I could move on the day and time I needed. They made the moving process much easier for me. I was very impressed with their timeliness and attention to detail. All of my furniture was well protected in the process. They also used pads to protect the door frames as well. They placed each piece of furniture where I requested and were very speedy in the process. I was impressed with how quickly everything was completed and thought the price was very reasonable.

Overall things went extremely smooth. The only problems were with flooring supplier which caused scheduling problems. When the flooring could not be installed on day it was supposed to be done and had to be done a day later - which was the original move date, my wife called John Mitchell Moving and explained the problem. The gentleman she talked with listened and assured us that they would get us moved one day later after the flooring was installed, even though their schedule was tight. As it turned out my wife talked to John Mitchell. Day of the move the crew showed up on time. They literally put the "pedal to the metal" to get us moved. They only took staggered breaks to get water and energy drinks. We were moved in shortly after noon time. There was no damage to either furniture or the old or new home - very careful to take care of things. The old home was two story with basement and some of the furniture was rather heavy but the crew handled things with ease. To watch them load the truck was similar to seeing a watch maker repair things and get everything in its proper place in a confined area. They put down runners between the sidewalk and the patio and inside the patio door so nothing was tracked inside - which made my wife estatic. Super company with super efficient employees. Would use them again without hesitation.

I hired them to move my belongings from a 3BR house to a POD in my driveway for a move across the country. I thought about going the friends route but I didn't have the manpower or patience to schedule everything. I have a piano and thought it would be easier if I just hired someone to do all the moving. Best decision ever! When I called for a quote, they were very professional and efficient; the estimate seemed reasonable and they could accommodate my relative short-notice. The two men arrived exactly on time and called beforehand to let me know they were on there way and provided and ETA. It took them 1.5 hours, and although I paid for the 2 hour minimum, it was well worth it. The movers were very friendly, packed everything with care (i.e. my 75-year-old heirloom piano), were knowledgeable of packing techniques, made sure to tie off sections in the POD as they filled it, and were courteous enough to ask questions about whether I wanted certain things in the POD or not. In other words, they didn't just come in a throw things into the POD. I would use this company again in a heartbeat! P.S. I'll have to find my receipt for the names of the two movers, specifically. They were great!

This was the first time using hired movers, and I was apprehensive. Overall, great experience and the cost ended up coming in less than the estimate. Movers were very careful of precious items and quick to ask questions. Also very efficient and fast. Followed instructions well and everything was moved without a scratched...definitely worth it.

These guys were great. They did an excellent job. I was moving out of town and for them to get everything moved in such a short time was amazing. They arrived on time, worked hard and very fast. It was such an easy move. I would recommend them to anyone.

They did a great job from beginning to end. The estimator was great and very reassuring about the process. On the day of the move, they arrived on time and worked very hard, barely taking a break for lunch. They were able to move a very large sofa into the basement that I don't think just anyone could have moved down there. They worked and worked until they were able to fit it down the stairs. They were very respectful of us and our home. The only negative (very minor) is that they left a piece of equipment and haven't picked it up in 2 1/2 weeks. Overall, great experience.

The moving men assessed the situation and determined exactly how to proceed. They worked quickly and easily as a team, but were very careful with the client's belongings. Nothing was damaged in the transition. They ran into an unavoidable obstacle at the destination, but handled it calmly and quickly. The client received a better price than what was quoted by a couple of companies who specialize in moving the elderly even though it took longer than estimated.

I called them only about 2 weeks in advance - from the scheduler to the movers, all were friendly and professional.

Excellent service. The guys were friendly, fast, efficient, and careful with our stuff. The estimate was for one trip / one truckload; it ended up taking two trips, but the cost was no different. The guys worked so quickly that the time was the same, even though we had a 30 mile round trip between locations. They took some extra items (heavy treadmill and elliptical machine) that were not in the original estimate - all for no extra cost. Very pleased, and would definitely use them again.

Dealing with this company was a wonderful experience from start to finish. We had checked out options for portable storage units and a couple of other moving companies. I checked Angie's List again and called, John Mitchell's. It felt like a totally different experience. I first spoke with Ann when I called the company and she was pleasant, knowledgeable and so helpful in helping me determine what information I even needed to make a decision. When I told her "I am moving, I have never used a moving company before and I don't even know what I want or need," She began walking me through the thought process without any sales pressure at all. I scheduled for their guy to come out and give me a quote on packing and moving. Bob Johnson was efficient, pleasant and wonderful to work with. He worked up what it would cost to pack and move or just move. He gave me information about the company and their philosophies and work ethic and experience, again without any feeling of being pressured into using them. I like the term quiet confidence. It seems as though this company works to do a good job, keeps a solid workforce and shares that with the potential clients, but doesn't feel the need to press. The day of moving- Roger and Gary showed up at 8:30am. One of the 3 man crew scheduled called in sick. These two men worked that much harder and with such remarkably good attitudes. They were pleasant and considerate and worked their butts off! We didn't finish until about 9:00 PM that night and they both were going strong and still smiling. I was amazed! Their personalities made it easier for my family to keep up our energy and stay smiling through out the day. This company, from start to finish made a difficult project, which moving always is, much less traumatic. Where we are living is temporary and we know we are going to be moving again--We will be calling John Mitchell's company and asking for Roger and Gary.

They did just wonderful. They did such a good job that I have nothing bad to say about the experience.

Excellent service from estimate to moving day through completion of the move. This was a long and hard job but the crew was professional and did good work. We packed ourselves and made it through the move with 1 broken glass tumbler and 1 glass picture frame we didn't care too much about. They did a great job packing, padding, and securing furniture and other items. Highly recommended.

Fantastic! They were able to schedule a move on relatively short notice and came out to my house to give me an estimate, which was nice. On the day of the move, the movers were on time and worked tirelessly to move my things. Because they charge by the hour, it actually ended up costing $500 LESS than the estimate! I was very, very pleased and would highly recommend them.

I hired 2 movers to load my rental truck. Roger and Gary arrived on time, in a great mood, ready to work. They were fast and efficient.. My truck was loaded perfectly! Roger and Gary were so easy to get along with and I really appreciated their help!

The movers were efficient, punctual, respectful, hard-working, and very fast. They came in (time-wise) well under the estimate, which meant, since we paid by the hour, that the move cost only half of the estimated price. We were very impressed with the service and would use them again for an in-state move.

It's very refreshing to find a company that still does business the old-fashioned way, honoring responsibility and respecting the customer. I was one of those rare cases where a piece of furniture was damaged in transit (thanks to an unavoidable road hazard). John unequivocally stated "we'll make it right", and he followed through with that promise. He promptly wrote a check for the full amount needed to replace the damaged piece with no hassle, and no attempt at negotiating or shirking his responsibility. I am very thankful to have chosen Two Guys for my move, and will do it again next time.

I was very pleased with my moving experience! I had a three man crew (Chris, Kris and Steve) and boy did they hustle! They arrived at 8:35 am and had me completely loaded by 10:21 am, This was quite impressive considering that we had three stops to make and things had to be placed in the truck according to how they would be delivered. The first stop was to deliver my piano to my son's house. They did great! ( I had been very concerned about who would move the piano and how because the piano had been in my family for over 42 years.) The next stop was 45 min away to my temporary three room bungalo where I would be staying until my fiance and I got married in March 2012. This was no easy task considering that each piece of furniture had to be moved into each room in a certain order because of how tight the space was. They questioned my logic at first until they got there and saw how little it was and then realized how right I was! A couple of times they chuckled and doubted whether a piece of furniture would actually fit where I wanted them to put it, but then I reassured them that I had measured the wall space and knew it would fit. Our last stop was at my fiance's house. They helped us move his couch and kitchen table into the lower level so that my living room and dining furniture would all fit. They were curtious and funny. I was very relieved when we were all done before 2pm. The enitre move only took 5 1/4 hours and that was quite impressive considering the drive time to three stops and how awfully hot it was that day. I am planning on requesting the same crew again when I move to my fiance's house in March. Definately was worth the cost!

Two pleasant, expeditious, muscular guys arrived on time--after an advisory phone call--and knew how to disassemble the love seat to fit it through the stairways of the two houses. They did it quickly and carefully, with zero damage to either house.

They basically moved the heavier stuff. They didn’t do too many boxes because we did most of it ourselves. They removed my heavier furniture and the piano and things in the bedroom, dining room, living room and TV room sets. They were very professional. They had a great sense of humor because my husband thought he was helping and he put all the furniture in the garage and that messed them all up but they managed to work through that real well. They were quick in getting everything into the truck and in unloading and in placing it where we asked them to place. They were not pricey.

From the scheduler on the phone to the two "guys" that came to do the work the experience was friendly, professional and easy. The two men never stopped working even though it was an extremely hot day. They were courteous and very careful with our belongings. They placed everything exactly where we requested. We can and will highly recommend Two Guys and a Truck. The price was fair and reasonable; overall a perfect A+.

I was pleased with them. They did some work for friends of mine as well and they seem consistent. I thought the price was pretty reasonable.

Excellent service. The guy that came to do the estimate was friendly and quick but thorough. The crew that came to move did a spectacular job; all were friendly and hard working. They ended up having to do two trips instead of one, and I added some particularly heavy exercise equipment that was not in the original quote. They still finished on time and at the quoted price. The guys did a great job of packing all the furniture and securing it in the truck. Absolutely no issues, and I would definitely recommend them.
