John Mitchell Moving/Two Guys & A Truck

Two guys gave us a worst case cost estimate and a good selection of days for the move. They used 4 guys and two large trucks over a day and a half. They really took great care with everything. Even though some boxes are still to be opened, we have yet to see any damage. All the guys were friendly and very helpful. They went above and beyond in several instances to meet our needs. Plus, at the end the cost was over $1,000 lower than the estimate. We would definitely hire 2 Guys again!

All went very well. Had 3 guys throughout day. Took approx. 7 hours. They moved furniture and other large items out of 3,500 sq ft home to both an apartment and storage unit. The movers worked hard all day. They were personable and considerate. No damage. The company had provided a written estimate guaranteeing that the charge on the day of the move would not exceed the estimate. I came in approximately $150 below the estimate. I felt the price was a bargain. I plan to use the same company two months from now when I move from the apt and storage unit to a house.

It was a terrible experience. They beat up a whole bunch of my appliances, and my dining room table. I was supposed to have 3 men to do the work and there were only 2 guys. They were there for 8 hours instead of 6 like they quoted. They didn't tell me until they got there that they wouldn't remove gas appliances so I had to contact a plumber. I also went down into my basement and noticed that they had cracked the cold water faucet and caused there to be a leak. They also put one of the drawers that goes under my bed off track, and even broke my screen door at the house I moved out of.

The movers arrived on time and started right away. We were moving from a 4 bedroom house and they were very efficient and had everything on the truck in less than 2 hours. The did a great job of handling our items with care and asked questions when they weren't sure if it was something fragile. We really appreciated the attention they gave our items when packing them on the truck. When we arrived at the new house that was an hour away, they didn't stop to break and immediately began unloading the truck into our new house that was larger than the old one. Again, they checked to see where everything needed to go. And before leaving, they wanted to make sure all the heavy furniture was exactly where we wanted it. We really liked their professionalism and speed. They were so effiecient that the job ended up costing less than we were quoted. Definitely pleased with their services and would recommend this moving company to anyone wanting the right time and attention for moving your items. Thanks for making our move stree-free!

Very pleased with the service we received from Two Guys and a Truck. The crew of three arrived on time and were polite and efficient. They were very happy we had already moved all items that were in boxes and had taken care of dresser drawers ourselves. We just used them to move the big stuff. They were very careful with all of our furniture. We were concerned about what condition they'd leave our home in, since we had literally had all new wood flooring and carpet put in just a few days before the move, but they were great. Price was reasonable and it was nice not to have to move the big stuff ourselves. All in all, I'd absolutely recommend Two Guys and a Truck to anyone looking for a quality moving company in central Indiana.

They were very efficient and stayed on the job without taking a break, except 30 minutes for lunch. It saved us money.

I can't say enough good things about this company. Immediate contact when I requested a quote and follow up/confirmation from the office 2 weeks prior and again 1 week prior. We were informed they would be there by 9 am and they were. We had everything boxed and ready for the to load and at 9:45 we were on our way. I was initially concerned about many of their items as they were antiques, some 150 years old. They wrapped everything in blankets/padding and NOTHING was damaged. Once they got here, they unloaded everything and put it where we asked them to with a smile on their face the whole time. By 11 am, they were finished and on their way. They were very professional.....Awesome service! Would definitely use them again and have referred them to several people already. Thanks again.

Absolutely great! I cannot express how easy this company was to work with and how seamless our move went. We were a little worried that our items had not been professionally packed and were somewhat haphazardly put into storage (by my wife and me). The three man crew went to great lengths to ensure all of our items were protected and secured on the truck instead of just piling things in. Not one item was damaged during the move which was amazing to me. Our movers were Danny, Todd, and Todd and they were nothing but professional and courteous the entire time. Once the truck got to our new home, they listened and placed the items exactly where they needed to go which greatly alleviated the stress of the move from our shoulders. Scheduling was a breeze (even though this was during the busiest time of the year) and we were able to communicate directly with the office as needed in the time leading up to our move date. Top notch company from A-Z. I would never have another company move me and have recommended them highly to friends and family!

Was very good at explaning what was included in the cost of he move and what they would do.

The guys were courteous and efficient. They were very careful and we had NO damage at all to the things being moved or either house! They moved the items from a ranch home to three separate levels of the second home.

Everything was fine. They put in a lot of hard work. They were one man short, so they worked from about 8:30 AM to almost midnight to get it all done. They did a nice job.

The move went GREAT! We were very happy with the job the crew did! The guys did and awesome job moving all of our stuff. They were on time and had everything moved in and set up before dinner! They were even willing to move a few things after I changed my mind. They worked without really stopping... even after I offered to get them lunch. The guys were kind and very professional! The four movers were exceptional! They worked non-stop all day. We built a new house and were living temporarily in an apartment. Not only did they have to move furniture from the 2nd floor, but they had to empty the contents of 2 on-site storage units and then leave and drive to two other storage units. We could never have accomplished this move without them. The men were very professional, kind, nice and thoughtful of our possessions. I hope to never move again but will recommend Two Guys and a Truck to anyone who needs a professional moving company. Thank You!

Found the company on Angie's List and contacted based on number of great reviews. Also gave me a 10% Angie's List discount. They came out to my house for an in-house estimate. The man who came out was punctual and kind. The price he quoted was exactly what we ended up paying in the end (although we did get rid of a lot of stuff between the estimate and move). Higher estimate than most of the national companies. However, they were one of the only local companies in Indianapolis that I contacted that would do an out-of-state move and I was set on wanting to use a local Indianapolis company that I could trust. We confirmed times with the move multiple times. Moving Out Day: we were supposed to have the movers come at 9am on Saturday, which was important because we had hired a cleaning team to come in to the house that afternoon after the movers were done. We had expressed the importance of this during our conversations. The day before the move, the company called my wife and told us that the movers had been bumped back to 11am because of another job. We AGAIN expressed our concern with this change in time because of the schedule we had arranged with the cleaners but we were promised they would be done in the early afternoon. Moving day comes and so does 11 am without any movers. 11:30, 11:45.... I call J. Mitchell and express my concern that I still have not seen any movers. Direct quote from the boss: "I also am concerned and do not know where they are at. They should be there. I will call them and call you back." 12:00, 12:15.... Still no movers, still no call back. I call J. Mitchell again. "I still haven't got ahold of the movers. I understand why you are frustrated. I will call you back when I get ahold of them." 12:30, 12:45, 1:00pm....the movers finally get there. 4 hours after the original time we set, 2 hours after the time they changed to. Never got a call back from J. Mitchell. Never got an apology from anyone. This situation could have been handled in a variety of ways to make it better (keeping me updated, adding an extra mover to do the job quicker, discounting the price, etc) but it was just ignored. Frustrating to say the least. The movers arrived, scoped out my house and expressed their frustration that the company had scheduled a condo on a 3rd floor move-out BEFORE my house. How did they expect to knock that out in 2 hours? They expressed that it wasn't their fault (and it wasn't) but they were tired and they would work as hard as they could. Chris and Ty were my movers and were enjoyable to be around and worked hard. They started a 1pm and finished shortly after 4pm. They didn't take much time in the way of breaks and were very efficient. The cleaners could not get in until the late afternoon and were VERY accommodating working late into the evening. Moving In Day: Punctuality was a bit better this time. They showed up on the day they promised and only 15 minutes late from the time we set. Before they open the truck, the movers tell me, "We had some pretty big bumps and stuff shifted a bit so can't guarantee everything will be great." Reassuring to hear. I think they were mostly joking but not exactly what you want to hear. Chris and Ty worked hard and finished the move into a 4th story 3 bedroom apartment (with elevator) in about 5 1/2 hours. Great attitude, fun to be around, worked hard. Overall assessment: punctuality, enough said. But regardless, everyone I dealt with in this company was polite and easy to work with. Everyone worked hard. One lamp got broke. One lamp had a screw lost rendering it unusable. Couple bowls were broke. The furniture had some scrapes and dings. Nothing major got broken. Not perfect but I'm sure no move is and I expected some scrapes and such. I give them a B overall. It was the first time in my life that I ever hired movers and didn't know what to expect. I would use them again but I would also spend more time looking at some other companies. I had several friends who moved out to the West Coast the same time with some other companies (mostly national companies) and did it for a lot cheaper (closer to $3000-4000) but didn't have the local connection. Overall a good experience.

These guys were great. They arrived on time, got immediately to work The movers were very polite and fast. They were able to complete the move in half of the estimated time. Before leaving they had us go though the house and see if we needed any of the furniture moved to a different location. I highly recommend these guys!

The guys were there within the time frame. They brought an extra smaller truck "just in case" and we did need it. They packed quickly and carefully. They were pleasant to work with. Finally the final price was the price quoted on the phone. I was very pleased.

They came and packed up a three level town house. They moved me to another three level town house. They moved a big china cabinet. They put everything back in its place. I would highly recommend them. Professional, caring gentleman. They're hard working, professional, caring and dedicated. I had no damage at all.

Highly professional job from start (coming to home to give estimate of moving cost) to finish (unloading the goods in Chicago). The three men were extremely polite, careful and moved at a good pace from loading the moving van to unloading the moving van. Always courteous and asking where goods were to be placed (i.e. bedroom, kitchen, etc) in the new household. We have moved many times...in and out of the US, John Mitchell Moving Two Guys and A Truck gave us one of the best moves we have had. Thank you for the highly professional move of our belongings.

I was quite impressed with the professionalism of the entire end to end experience. First from the initial quote to the moving of my home furnishings. My moving team Todd, Danny and Ronald were extremely careful to ensure my furniture was moved without a scratch . I have some heavy furniture and there was no marks left on walls and the assembly of the furniture was done well. I would highly recommend the company and the moving team. THanks for excellent service.. They wer very honest with quote and completed move several hours earlier than planned..

I did not care for the service that was provided. I hired professionals because I wanted my belongings to be shipped safely. This was not the case. The I witnessed the movers tossing my boxes without a care of what might be in them. Once everything was unloaded I started noticed three pieces of wooden furniture was damaged. Two of these being antiques. When I contacted the owner he became very nasty with me. I didn't ask for any money back or for anything other than him to talk to his movers about being more careful with other peoples belongings. One of the movers even commented to the other "it's only furniture". John became very rude with me as if I had been the one who did something wrong. He said he would send a guy out to fix the furniture. I tried to explain that they were antiques, but he would not listen to anything I said. I finally said fine, have the guy call me. But I have decided that I do not want anyone from this organization touching anything of mine again. I have since noticed other damage. It is wear from rubbing. The couch has a tear on the corner, the chair had a bald spot in the fabric, a book case has a scratch on the side, my buffet has the finish rubbed of the front, a quarter size piece of veneer was broke off the top of my 1937 radio, and my mattress is filthy where it was drug against the bottom of the truck. I have not been able to unpack all my boxes yet. I hope that there is not anymore damage. I simply cannot believe that this man manages to keep a business running. In my opinion he is totally lacking in any customer service skills. I recommend that you do not trust these people with anything you care about. It is not just furniture to me. I work hard for my things and if I am paying someone they better respect me and my stuff.

This review is sooooo late in coming. Mr. Mitchell came to our home and did a walk through before giving us an estimate. He estimated it would take about four hours start to finish since we had already move our kitchen stuff and our clothing. His crew showed up on the dot on moving day. They worked quickly and carefully. They moved all our belongings into the new home and even leveled the stove and refrigerator and attached new 4-prong plugs on the stove and clothes dryer for us. Not a scratch on the walls; not a bump or break to any of our belongings! It was amazing watching the men working together. It took them exactly four hours. We would recommend this company to anyone looking for a reasonable price for quality service on moving day.

It went great! Best moving experience I have ever had and it was a large move. The guys were very nice, helpful. They took great care of all my things. Not a scratch on the old house or new house. There wasn't any damage to any of my belongings and they were extra careful with my antique piano. I would highly recommend them and have!

Move went well. Only two issues. Movers were to call when they were on the way. They did not do this and we almost missed them...just happened to pass their truck as we were headed to get lunch. Other issue was they dropped a piece of furniture, which hit a closet door and put a small dent in it. They apologized over and over and I let it go.
