We agreed on the price and the work started few weeks after our agreements. My wife and I would go to work in the morning and would come back to be amazed how much work was done. Jeff was very punctual and reacting to our needs very promptly. Basically, they would go extra mile to please us. The project was mostly completed in less than 10 days. Our neighbors were amazed by the changes in our backyard and we received many complements from all around us. We also received discount due to Angie's List membership.

He left a brochure with different types of bricks and patterns to choose from. When we narrowed it down, he came back with two that we liked and we were able to make a choice. At that point, he said he'd mail a contract and gave a rough idea when the job would start.
Description of Work: I had a brick patio installed. The crew took up old posts from a deck. Cleaned away the grass and leveled the area away from the house. The proper materials were put down prior to the pavers being laid. They took only two days in spite of the heat. They came back a few weeks later to replace some pavers that were damaged and add additional soil and grass seed.

 + -1 moreJeff came out and walked the yard with me and I showed him what I needed and wanted. He told me it would be about 5 weeks before they could get out to do the work. He told me an estimate would be mailed to me in three days. I had to call to get the estimate a week later. Even though the estimate was more than others it also included cutting new beds which the others didn't. The work did happen within the 5 weeks as I was told. The work was completed in a day and looked great. I did need to have them back to re-trim some of the bushes because they didn't take enough off of them initially. They came out and re-trimmed without a problem. I would use them again and in fact I'm going to have them put in a new evergreen tree this fall.
Description of Work: Trimmed all existing bushes and trees. Cut out around trees and bushes for new mulch beds. Put down mulch in all beds old and new.

They returned on June 26th and finished the new plantings and did the leveling, grading and planting of new grass seed in the backyard area. They completed the cleaning of the old beds and added the hardwood bark mulch to all beds. They then cleaned up everything and left the yard with a very pristine look.
Description of Work: Created Backyard Planting Beds. Added Flagstone pieces from new grass area to north gate. Added a river rock strip against south fence the length of the back driveway. Added a river rock area with a brick border under bird feeders. Leveled and graded the new grass area and planted new grass. Removed dead plantings along south side and west side of house and replaced with new plantings. Added Boxwood where change out beds had been on west side of house along house sidewalk. Expanded 2 beds at beginning of house sidewalk on west side of house. Separated Daylilies and put them in expanded beds and changed out bed in front of low stone wall along sidewalk on west side of house. Trimmed evergreen hedge around patio on west side of house. Cleaned up all beds, redefined edges and applied hardwood bark mulch to all old and new beds.

TJ came out and re-looked, and made a grand change to the plans and reworked the site. We then added some additional work to the project (which totally made it perfect) and they did a FANTASTIC job, not to mention they were very timely and efficient.
Description of Work: Removed existing vegetation. Filled slope with topsoil. Planted trees (some big ones), shrubs and flowers. Installed retaining wall and filled in. Placed hardscape to our specifications. Mulched the entire area. This was a major re-do of our back yard area. Getting to the back yard was downhill all the way. Tough work!!

 + -1 moreWithin days of my initial phone call, I had a written estimate of the cost and a detailed list of the work. Unfortunately, the weather did not cooperate and the work was delayed. The beds were installed in late fall and though it was not part of the contract, they added mulch tomy existing beds in addition to the new beds. Through the wet winter, Jeff kept in regular contact with me and kept me updated on the status of my work. Once the weather allowed installation, the work was completed quickly. Though the delay was not their fault, the company gave me a discount off the original quoted price and refreshed the mulch in all the beds.
Description of Work: They installed two 4 foot wide beds. One on the north side and one on the south side of the house. They dug out the beds and filled them with mulch. They moved a trellis and two rose bushes from the back yard to the new bed on the south side. In addition, they prepared the side and back yards and installed new sod.

Since I needed time to resolve my problem with the previous "contractor", he offered to honor his fall '06 estimate until spring of '07. Co-owner Scott and his crew were prompt, friendly, neat, and it was evident they took pride in their work.
Description of Work: Pulled up old brick; excavated old base; removed and disposed of old stepping stones, installed pulmeric sand, reset step by deck, mortared gaps in RR tie frame, that were made by previous "contractor".
