TJ and his gang did an amazing job! We waited a long time to do our front yard and we did a lot of research. The crew, led by Matt, worked so diligently and kept us informed on every step of the process. They arrived early, stayed late, worked harder than anyone would have expected! Their attention to detail was superb. Such a pleasant group to do business with! We are planning on hiring them again for a project this fall and also are hoping to add a fire pit next year. We cannot recommend them highly enough! From the office staff to all of the workers, it was truly a pleasure to do business with. We miss seeing their smiling faces! If you have any work you need done with Landscaping and all that goes along with it, look no further! They truly are awesome!!!!!
Description of Work: We needed our whole front yard basically gutted and a retaining wall removed along with a new stone retaining wall and landscaping.

Definitely a lot more expensive than what I expected for the size of this job. But the work was done well and looks good. A few of the bushes looked stressed immediately after planting; however, Green Vista took care of the plants for several weeks following while I was away and they seem like they are doing fine now.

Looks wonderful and the crew were quick and professional. They were quick to move their truck and trailer when my neighbor needed to get in and out of her driveway. We did have some rescheduling of the actual work day, but that was partly my fault and the weather. TJ was always pretty quick in responding to my emails though and letting me know what dates were available for rescheduling. I will definitely hire them again in the future for additional projects.
Description of Work: TJ worked up a landscaping design for me. I decided that I would do the front of the house this year. His crew added a block retaining wall, new plants and much.

The landscaping plan is beautiful and very low maintenance with perrenials and a few small blue spruce. The patio is exactly what I wanted and even better than expected. Green Vista uses plants that grow and thrive in this environment. They also use locally sourced stone as much as possible. I couldn't be happier!

Fully understands my specific needs without a lot of detailed instructions. I know a job will get done correctly the first time. Cannot afford to use another landscaper.

They provided the services when promised and did a professional job. They cleaned up and it appears they used good quality plants and materials. They returned at no charge to re-do some areas affected by heavy rains and to re-locate some of the shrubs. We thought the cost of the services was reasonable.

Green Vista did an incredible job! We are very please with our patio and use it all the time. The quality of work was great, and they stand behind their work. As some stones have settled and sand washed out in a couple of spots, they came back at no charge and fixed those items. In addition, Jeff can take a concept and put it into a great design that looks great with each home and is highly functional. Finally, of the many projects we have had done around our home, this was one of of the most pleasing both from dealing. Not every contractor takes care of their customers like this.

They always exceed my expectations. They work with me when I get a tight budget particularly. They are very conscious on details. So, if I have something I particularly want like doing something with shrubs, they will be very conscious about asking how I want things to be done. They are very careful in pruning one tree that I have so that it will have a good shape. Basically, I cannot afford to use another company.

We have been customers of Green Vista for about 4 years. They initially re-did our entire home's landscaping, and have since done various bed/mulch/shrubbery maintenance, mowing and weed prevention. TJ and the rest of the team are always prompt, professional and responsive, and the quality of the work they do is top-notch. Their employees are always so courteous and respectful to us, so we plan to be loyal customers for years to come. It's refreshing to see a business run they way they are. A+!!

We were very happy with Jeff and his crew. Jeff came out and gave us an estimate of the proposed jobs, worked with us on changes and communicated with us throughout the project. He always returned my emails or calls promptly. Brandon and Garrett completed the patio work and landscaping. They were hardworking , friendly, patient, and great to work with. I have small children and they allowed them to watch and even let my son help out with a few pavers! Everyone was cooperative and patient when we made changes or suggestions. They worked with us every step of the way! I would recommend Green Vista to any friend, neighbor or stranger.
Description of Work: Installed a paver patio with seating walls, move an existing tree that was in the patio area, and landscaped around the patio. Along with the patio landscaping, they also cleaned out a wooded area behind our house and planted new plants and mulched the area. Also installed lighting in front of the house and in the seating walls around the patio.

After getting a few estimates for our project, we decided to go with Green Vista. TJ appeared to be super responsive, polite and honest as well as his quote was comparable to others. Simply put, his prompt and thorough responses made it easier to give him our business, and we felt very comfortable working with him. Now that the project is over, I can honestly say he and his crew were great to work with. However, as much as we liked working with them as people, and as much as I hate saying anything bad about what they did for us, I wouldn't be doing this site justice if I didn't point out some of our disappointment in some of their work. I rely heavily on this website when researching companies, and this evaluation is what I would like to know/read before spending 5 digits on a patio. That said, I thought the best way to provide feedback would be to breakout, and justify, each of the assigned grades. I preface the below remarks by saying I am, by nature, a fairly detailed oriented guy with an eye for finishing touches. While I certainly think all comments are justified, I also think there are plenty of homeowners that could rate a higher for the same work. Again, I'm writing this review for what I would have liked to read/know going into my selection. If you're a ''close enough'' kind of person, take the grades with a grain of salt. If you're detailed, or have a stronger sence of the aesthetic side, I would read the following as a true reflection. Professionalism/Punctuality/Responsiveness - A. A. A. Before, during, & after the project he always got back to us within 24 hrs and respectfully answered any/all of our questions no matter how many we threw at him. I'm very much a hands on guy.....in fact, I originally was going to do this project myself but having a newborn and a 2 yr old just simply didn't make it a realistic option. It was hard for me to pay somebody to come in and work on my home (not my normal style). So, I was definitely a hands on homeowner and gave TJ more than a fair share of emails. Nothing ever appeared to annoy him. He addressed every question/complaint as if he was happy to do so. Just a nice, professional, patient guy....sincere, responsive, & professional the entire time. They appeared to work very hard while they were on site, they always cleaned up before leaving, and they were quick to correct any issues we had along the way. Anything we asked them to fix/redo (both with the patio and repairing our yard afterward) they appeared happy to make us happy without ever once making us feel like a bother. In fact, we had a leak from an irrigation line that was cracked during the delivery of materials.....TJ was on vacation for Father's Day and still took all my calls. At the end of the day, they showed peak customer care and willingness to make it right. Quality - C. While we loved working with them and are overall fairly pleased with the final product, there were a lot of other issues with the actual execution of the patio itself that prevents me from going higher than a C for quality. It seemed they set a solid foundation (the most important part), but only time can truly tell on that. TJ also had great suggestions for our stone selections. Beyond that, either these guys did not have a knack for finishing touches, or they were in such a hurry to fit the job in their allotted time that they had to rush things. I have several pictures I'll attach to this review if I can, but suffice it to say I strongly feel my gripes are valid, even beyond a ''picky'' standard. When you pay $10k to have a 23'x13' patio ''professionally" installed, it should look professionally done. And as far as the aesthetic finishing touches go, our patio looks more amateur than professional in many areas. First off, the slope - the overall slope of a patio should be subtle and consistent. Ours is neither. Our backyard is fairly sloped. In order to blend our patio in with the slope of the hill, I get TJ needed to slope the patio more than normal to make it work. Fine. The bad part is the pitch gets worse the closer you get to the house. Over just a 13 feet span, you can visually (with the naked eye) see the pitch of the slope increase at 2 different breaks. By the time you get close to the steps, there is a foot or so that actually feels like you're walking uphill (or, if you walk perpendicular to this area it feels like you could almost roll your ankle) --- slight exaggeration, but the point is your foot does feel somewhat turned which you should never feel on a patio. TJ also noticed this and said it had to be done to "get the step height right". I'd rather have my step height be off than to have such a change in slope. Either way, if the patio was dug/planned out properly there would be proper step height AND a visually flat and consistently sloped patio. Again, ours is none of those. Next is the pavers - Our pavers came in 3 different sizes: large rectangle, small rectangle, and medium square. The 3 different sizes are meant to be laid in an alternating staggered pattern to created a random look. However, anybody that has been around patios knows the ''random'' pattern doesn't truly mean random. There should still be a uniform, cohesive flow. Our patio looks like either they put NO thought into the layout, or again they were just too rushed to care. We had seem lines running from one end to another without a break. We have areas where there are 3 parallel seems in a row spanning over 10+ ft each without a break. There is one patch where there are 4 small rectangles lined in a row single file (picky, but still), and another spot where there are 7 small rectangle pieces bunched together in a 4 by 4 square as if they ran out of the other two sizes. Along with other unappealing areas, it just looks amateur & choppy. In addition, as the patio spans you can visually see the flow of the pavers/seems curve away from the house by quite a bit. Then there are the seat walls - the caps of the walls (the seat) should overhang the wall blocks by 4 total inches...2in on each side if place centered on the wall. Almost all of our wall caps were placed crooked leaving 1in. or less on one side overhang with 3in. or more on the other. I'm not talking about the middle of the wall where you can't tell....i'm talking at the wall end where you can easily see the crookedness of the cap as it sits on the wall stone. There is 1 wall that visually sits lower than the others, and there are 2 walls that are misaligned (one wall slants away from the ouse and the other slants in) which visually throws off the alignment. Then there is the step - the stones they used for the steps are so chewed up from bad cuts (i assume) that it looks like it is a 20 year old stone that got banged around over the years. We had them replace a few, but just felt awkward asking them to replace ALL of them, so we are living with the rest. In my opinion, they should have realized the stones were badly nicked and not used them in the first place. Lastly, perhaps most telling, was the curve in the center of our patio for design (...which about 10 feet long). You would think a professional landscaper would use string and measurements (maybe a little high school geometry) to create a smooth, consistent, symmetrical, professional looking curve, right? Nope. These guys straight ''eyeballed'' on multiple tries. Their first try was WAY off. The 2nd try was better, but still very wonky and lopsided. So, to avoid having a 3rd fail, i explained they needed to use a straight line and measure off of it at regular intervals. I even joined them since TJ was not on the job anymore. In the process, I got my fingers hammered twice by their crew. A homeowner shouldn't have to be put in that position...ever. Especially not one that is paying over $10k. The curve turned out much better with my help, but it still isn't amazing. It looks like a skilled homeowner did it, not professionals. Again, anytime we asked them to fix something they did (to their credit). But, we got a little tired of asking for little things here and there to be tweaked. The crew was so nice, we felt bad/sort of embarrassed at some of the errors we had to point out, so we ended up just living with what I would normally have asked to be redone. Price - B. I could have given a C for this based on quality of work, but I'd say his price was reasonable with what we saw. I look at it this way though... at least $4k of our cost was labor, to which (divided out per man hour) ends up being $40'ish/hr. That is a lot for a backyard project that most skilled homeowners can do themselves. It is one thing to pay it and get a professional looking job. But, when the finished project looks as sloppy as ours did in places, that price starts looking worse and worse. Overall - B. I would use Green Vista for many jobs, but maybe not for more complex jobs where aesthetic touches matter (especially if you're picky and especially if you don't want to ''supervise'' the work along the way). Considering we created our design & already had our dimensions, all they had to do is execute the plan. The final product just isn't as "squared off" as I anticipated, after the fixes were made along the way. It just looks like it was rushed, or the crew lacks skill/an eye for detail. A crew member even said he JUST got back into landscaping after 20+ yrs. If my house is to serve as a training opportunity, my price should've been discounted bc the lack of experience/skill showed in the final product. Overall, for the money we're not over the moon. In TJ's defense, our yard isn't the easiest, and he was trying to get it done before Father's Day for me while dealing with some rain. But, (if that was a factor), I'd rather the patio take longer to get done if it means doing it right, and he knew my yard had a slope before hand. Neither is a good reason for a lower quality product. Balanced with the customer care = Overall B. Good. Not Excellent.
Description of Work: Installed paver patio with seat walls (approximately 23 by 13 ft rectangle) off the back of our house. There were 4 independently standing seat walls that framed in the 4 corners while leaving walk ways in-between. A smaller border tile was used around the outside boarder of the pavers, and lastly, so the footprint wasn't a plain rectangle, we asked that a curved be placed at the center of the longer side of the rectangle opposite of the house.
