Wood Pro Restoration

The contact prior to stain application was timely and professional. The fence looked great and I've received a number of compliments from the neighbors! One of my neighbors has installed a matching fence, and will also be utilizing the superior service from Exterior Wood Restoration.

The wrong color was used. It was not the color sample the salesman had shown and what was required in continuing the color of the prior treatments. What used to be bright and beautiful is dark and dreary. I was told that the color would probably lighten up but it has been over a year and the golden rose hue remains a flat dark brown. After a year went by I was told they would power wash off the stain on the siding, but not on the deck In order to show the stain could be removed I was told a small shoe box size area would be sprayed to demo what could be done. Now at my entrance area the siding has two 2 X 3 sq ft areas of pale wood. They sanded one and power washed the other. They wanted me to decide which process they were to use and then they would retreat the siding with a different color. The deck would still remain this awful dark brown. In the spring of 2013 I was in conversation with the company but after that my calls were not returned. I am very disappointed by this experience.

I have used, and referred, Exterior Wood Restoration Inc over the last 15+ years. The products they use are like no other...with the special formula they have you do not have to re-stain your deck or fence etc as often as other products out there! The color is great, long lasting and well worth the cost. They are not the least expensive initial BUT when you average out over the years YOU DO NOT have to re stain, its worth it! I highly recommend Exterior Wood Restoration for great results!!

The inspection was performed by two very experienced, knowledgable roofers who performed an interior kitchen inspection, an attic inspection and outside inspection of the roof. Their conclusion: (1) There was no major damage to the roof where the kitchen ceiling spots and crack were evident. In their opinion, due to the severe nature of the winter and ice build up on many roofs in the area, the spots were probably caused by ice damming (a result of severe temperature swings generating water invasion under the roof shingles during warm weather, then subsequest freezing of the water causing it to form into ice under the shingles, then more warm weather causing the ice formed under the shingles to melt and invade the under shingle roofing water shield and leak into the kitchen ceiling). Their advice: (a) Just touch up the paint and crack in the kitchen; (b) observe this same area during summer rain storms and during the next year winter, when more severe weather swings may cause a re-occurrance of the kitchen ceiling wet spots. Go from there. (2) Another area of past wet spots noticed in the attic on a vertical wall, were probably there during initial construction of the house, as no deterioration of the wall board indicated ongoing water leakage problems. (3) The EIFS was in good shape, requiring no repairs; but requiring paint for appearance only. Very honest appraisal that did not result in an invoice from the contractor. All observations were well explained to us and made sense. Of three contractors provided by our insurance company (Chubb), only this contractor responded to our calls for help. The other two with no response after 2 days were Meridian Roofing and J L Fox Contracting. This contractor responded the same evening and we worked together to set and reset appointments (I had to defer the 1st one) to get the inspection completed.

Exterior Wood Restoration came out originally and gave us a quote. They are a tad higher but with the 5 year warranty they give, it's totally worth it. The first day they come out to clean and condition your fence. They power wash it and use a certain type of conditioner that they only use. Then they come back a couple days later, depending on the weather (for us it was the next day), and apply the stain. They had 2 guys working on our fence and they they did a very good, clean job. We were nervous about it possibly getting on our neighbors house since they spray it on and not paint or roll it on, but they did a good job it make sure it stay on the fence. The gates next to our house they did do by hand as to not get it on our house. They left us some stain for touch ups that we find and cleaned up quick. Plus the stain had a orange scent so it smelled fantastic. Overall we really liked EWR and we would use them again.

They were prompt in coming out to provide the quote. We took a month to contact them to be put on the schedule and by that time, they were behind due to the amount of rain we had recently received. They were able to come out within a week of scheduling to powerwash, but it did take them another 2-3 weeks to come back to put the finish on the deck. I would say my only frustration was that they couldn't give us a date they would be out. When I asked when we were scheduled, they told us sometime between 01JUL13 and 15JUL13, which makes it a little hard to plan. I'm sure the timeframe was set due to weather being unpredictable. We were very happy with the deck and would definitely use their company again.

We had hired them to stain and protect our very large deck 2 years ago. They did a really good job at the time all was fine. This year we have noticed that the stain wasn't holding up very well and just didn't look good. We had called another company out who was very honest with us and told us it didn't need to be re-stained and didn't want to take our money for something not necessary. Very impressive. So we decided to call Exterior Wood Restoration again and maybe see if he would come by and see what he thought. He came out quicker than he originally said and was apologetic that the stain didn't last the 5 years like he said it would and ask if he could spot stain and treat it and give it a good powerwash and asked us if it would be okay if he came back in the fall to check on the deck. This meant so much to us that he would back up his product and his work that he originally done. This speaks volumes about his character and the pride he takes in his work. Definitely a stand-up company.

They did a great job. Our soffits and facia look almost new. They even touched up a couple of areas with paint. Would definitely call them next time we need the service.

Great experience. I called in mid to late March to schedule an estimate and within the few days had a quote in hand from a comprehensive on-site meeting. I received 3 estimates in total from other competitors and although Exterior Wood Restoration was a little more expense then the other estimates their presentation, professionalism and quality are/were worth the money. Due to weather (which no one can control) there was a gap in work but the crew did what they could when they could. The crew power washed the deck, sanded boards where the previous stain would not come off and even replaced a few boards on top of our arbor. The stain that they use is the best I have ever seen. Far superior to any store brand and most of their competitors. The crew took their time to make sure that every nook and cranny of our deck and arbor were fully saturated. They did an excellent job cleaning up and always checked with me prior to work being completed to see if I was satisfied. They finished-up today (4/22/13) and I would not hesitate to use them again or recommend them. Excellent job!

John was punctual for the first appointment and sent estimate in timely manner. He was even able to begin two months earlier than expected. He and his crew are perfectionists and paid much attention to detail and my questions. Repaired and replaced all needed exterior wood to keep the restorative look. Very organized, cleaned up thoroughly afterwards, and walked around the house with me to show all they had done, with explanation of how and why. He matched the needed wood to wood already on home. Outstanding service and work!!!!

The guys did an excellent job with the entire project. Very professional, friendly, and they did exceptional work. With the boards they replaced along with the existing ones they cleaned & stained, it looks like a custom deck! I would definitely use them again in the future. Thank you so much!

The company let us know just when they could do the work. The workers were prompt & worked methodically and careful. They were careful working by the plants. We they did a thorough job.

Due to condominium color restrictions, my choices were limited. I chose Cedarstone, and the finished product is beautiful. Even the upright parts (built-in benches, newels and handrails) were thoroughly coated. There is an upper and lower deck here, and we are still admiring the finished product.

I emailed Exterior Wood Restoration through the Angie's List link, and I heard back from them within a few hours. One of the salesmen was at my home the next day to measure the deck and give me an estimate. He was very professional and knowledgeable about the company and products. We chose to go with Exterior Wood Restoration even though they were more expensive than the other company that gave us an estimate. I was impressed by their 3-year guarantee, the fact that the company is in Cicero (I live in Noblesville), and the high ratings the company had on Angie's List. They called while we were on vacation and said that they could come and complete the work while we were gone, which was a week earlier than they thought they were going to be able to come. I got a call when they were finished, including information about when we could use the deck and what to do if we had questions or concerns. When we got home, we found that the deck looked wonderful! We are very happy with the results and will call Exterior Wood Restoration when we want to have our deck refinished again.

It was excellent. He gave a detailed estimate and everything was explained thoroughly. My husband was impressed with their knowledge. We had 2 other companies who were less expensive, but we were so impressed with their knowledge we decided to go with Exterior Wood.

They spent one day completely cleaning everything. Because of all the rain they were not able to seal it quite as soon as they would like. The day they sealed they also tightened a number of joints, drove all nails in tight and sanded the benches. All of this before they sealed everything. This is just I was told they would do. They cleaned and sealed my deck etc. three years ago. They assured me it would last three years. This is the third year and everything is nearly as good as when they first did the work. Great to have this kind of performance. Hard to find today.

This is the 2nd time we have used them for the same service...once about 10 yrs ago. Trying to save our roof so we don't have to replace the entire thing. They came back a 2nd time each time because some of the mold did not go away with one treatment. Was very satisfied with their service.

They did a nice job. We were very happy with their work. They were somewhat expensive, but we would hire them again.

The team showed up as expected and moved all of my heavy furniture and got right to work. They finished up exactly when they said they would and pit everything back in it's original place.
