 + 1 moreThere was a great deal of demolition as we began the project. Tom removed 2 large fireplaces/chimneys as well as the roof and ceiling of an earlier basement addition. Our project included adding new rooms (hearth-room, sunroom & master suite) on top of the existing basement. We also moved the kitchen from its original location and did quite a bit of custom woodwork/trim. Tom & his employees were always professional. I felt as though Tom was an advocate for us throughout the project and wanted to see it completed to the best of his ability. He is very meticulous about details and noticed many things we did not. As with all remodels, we did run into some unexpected, but unavoidable, issues. Tom always handled these with honesty and integrity. We were very pleased with the outcome of our project and love our new home.
Description of Work: Tom remodeled a 1950's ranch home we purchased. The home had not been occupied for a few years, and we ran into many challenges. Tom was great! We totally remodeled the kitchen, dining room, walk out basement, entry, and added a hearth-room, master suite, and sunroom.

Tom was responsive, prompt, and professional from start to finish, including providing us a bid, responding to calls, and making sure the work was completed to our satisfaction. He and his crew were very cognizant of our family (including little ones) and attempted to disrupt our routine as little as possible. We also liked the fact that Tom was regularly on site and very accessible. We would recommend him without any hesitation.
Description of Work: Tom finished our basement, the majority of which was not finished at all. He helped us create a gathering room, playroom, office and 1/2 bath.

 + 4 moreTom is THE MAN!!! I got 4 estimates and he was very reasonable. He has done commercial construction before as well as building homes so it was impossible to throw him a curve. He is creative and a problem solver and when I would hand him some goofy thing that I needed done he always said "you are the homeowner and it has to be the way you want it" then he would go figure out a way to do it. He is email savy so I would get regular status and updates via mail which makes tracking change orders, etc very easy. When we made changes along the way he would always give me a rough estimate as we discussed it then follow up with an actual quote that was usually close. A couple times he under quoted something but he stood behind it. He has a crew of his own people and they are very nice people to have under your feet which is important. They understand remodel and keep things clean. Tom hit every date he gave me in spite us sometimes. I will use tom for anything else I do.
Description of Work: Finished the basement. It was an unusually complex job because we were adding a huge window well and 2 windows. In addition we moved a steel support post and added a steel support beam so that we could make a wider room for the theater. Tom's crew moved the 700 lbs beam into the basement, jacked it into place on top of new concrete footings and safely increased the span in the basement. Finally this is a complex home theater, so Tom had to deal with odd things such as double drywall, suspended drywall ceiling, a tiered floor with curved edges and cherry soffits. There was nothing about this job that was standard.

Description of Work: Converted my screened porch into a home office. The remodel included light demolition of the old framing, new framing, wiring, addition of HVAC duct-work and vents, installation of new energy-efficient windows and patio doors. In addition, Tom made sure the overall design was appropriate for the age and character of our house so that the new living space would seamlessly blend with the existing structure. Tom and his crew also custom built cabinetry and bookshelves to add storage space and ensured the finished product complimented the room.

Description of Work: My husband and I met with Tom to go over a remodeling project adding a RD garage and upstairs to accommodate our parents who were moving in. Out of 5 companies that I called (and they were all on Angie's list with "A" reports), Tom is the only one that called us back. He mentioned that he would not be able to start until September as he doesn't take on more work than he can handle and gave us the address of a project he was doing as Geist. Tom and us hit it off from the beginning; he knew what we were looking for and was upfront and honest (which is very hard to find these days). We were willing to wait until September to get the work done, but now have a change in plans in our family. Our parents have decided to stay in their home and add on to it to accommodate another family member moving in with them. I have contacted Tom and would like him to do the work, as we have seen one of his projects and the reviews he gets is worth a million. I will definitely recommend him!

 + -1 moreThe project far exceeded our expectations. It is impossible to tell where the doors and windows were previously and the room looks like it has always been a part of the house. They always arrived on time and kept us informed as to what the next step would be. If we had any concerns as the work progressed they were addressed immediately. They cleaned up their work area at the end of the day and were respectful of our house and yard. It felt as if they were part of our family. The addition looks like something out of a magazine!
Description of Work: Tom and guys added a 16' x16' sunroom with a cathedral ceiling to our house. The project involved moving several windows and doors, connecting to the current heating and air conditioning and building built-in bookcases and a window seat.

 + -1 moreThis company was outstanding to work with and I would definitely use them again myself and recommend them highly to others. They completed the work earlier than promised. They constantly kept me updated on what was happening with the job, when they would be at the house, and when they would not, including letting me know if they would be arriving earlier than usual, or later than expected. Kept the areas relatively clean throughout the process. Pleasant to work with throughout. They also re-did (without complaint) part of the drywall and paint when I was not satisfied with the initial results.
Description of Work: Basement re-finishing after a sump pump failure and an earlier leak. Re-did insulation, drywall, ceilings, trim, painted. Also shored up sinking front porch posts.

 + -1 moreTom Pearson runs multiple jobs at once. He did a good job of sticking to the schedule he gave us. The actual work took about 12 days. His superintendent did a good job overseeing the day-to-day work. They kept the house picked up. When they deviated from the suggested placement of a fixture, it was always an improvement upon what had been suggested. Tom doesn't like to install sliding shower doors, but he tackled this job and we were pleased with the results. What we ended up with was an improvement well worth what we paid.
Description of Work: I hired this company to tear out my upstairs bathroom, down to the studs, replace the pipes, re-tile, install $3K worth of fixtures I'd bought, put up lighting, paint, etc. Tom Pearson came out, reviewed the job and gave me an estimate on my bathroom. He also recommended another contractor to repair my roof, which was leaking over said bathroom. That contractor put on a new roof within 24 hours and did a fantastic job.

 + 4 moreWe were extremely happy with our experience. We got 5 different bids on our project, and Tom was by far the most responsive and easy to work with of the contractors. Tom personally supervised the entire project, and did much of the work himself. He was very open to our suggestions, and even made his own suggestions on how we could improve the look or save money. He had the same crew show up everyday, always on time. Our project posed some challenges, like matching 65 year old brick, and cutting steps into the concrete pad, but Tom managed through all these issues beautifully. The project started and ended on time. We are thrilled with the final result. The house looks so great that we have had several strangers who were driving by stop just to say they love the work. We can't recommend Tom enough!
Description of Work: Gave my Meridian Kessler home a facelift while maintaining a look consistent with the area and age of the home. Added new front porch with columns, added steps, poured sidewalk, added crown molding over windows and shutter dogs. Tore down side porch and added large mudroom, including family lockers. Enlarged and arched entry to living room.

HIS WAS THE ONLY COMPANY THAT DIDN'T INSIST ON SELLING ME A FULL EXPENSIVE FOUNDATION BEFORE AGREEING TO COME OUT FOR A FORMAL QUOTE. A LESS EXPENSIVE STRUCTURE WAS USED WITH VERY GOOD RESULTS. WORKMANSHIP, ATTENTION TO DETAIL, ADHERENCE TO SCHEDULES WERE ALL EXCELLENT. POLITE AND FRIENDLY SERVICE WAS PROVIDED. AS IN ANY CONSTRUCTION PROJECT THINGS CAN GO WRONG. THE EDGE OF THE DRIVEWAY WAS DAMAGED BY THE DUMPSTER DELIVERY VEHICLE. MR. PEARSON IMMEDIATELY REPAIRED THE DRIVEWAY BETTER THAN NEW. THE COST OF THIS ADDITION WAS REASONABLE.
