Deck Pro

Did a great job. My deck looked like new when it was power washed and then even better with the stain applied. Jason called and told me what day he would be there. He also said he may come a few days early, due to rain. I don't have to worry about my deck for several years

Deck pro came out assessed how much extra it would cost to finish our deck, we excepted their price and they came as planned did the work and we were very pleased. It makes our whole backyard look better. We change from my ugly red to the beige color of our siding

Excellent. The gentleman was on time and very thorough. Work looked great. He left no mess when it was completed. I would hire again if needed.

I attempted to call this company 3 times by phone one day and they never answered. I left a message asking for clarification on the service of the deal I was looking to purchase. I never received a call back. I figured staining/painting some posts in lieu of the entire deck's rails and decking would be a wash in terms of cost so I went ahead and purchased the deal. A company rep eventually emailed me later in an evening stating they'd be out on their schedule to view the deck. I was available so I exchanged emails with the individual quickly. After I stated that I would prefer to look at the deck with the rep in person, discuss products, discuss colors, etc., the emails stopped. Three days later I receive another email stating that rep came to my property without my permission & informed me that they would not stain/paint posts, etc. I have composite decking and railing and the rep stated they don't do anything for these. There is nothing to do with them obviously. I stated I could have easily discussed what I needed if we'd have spoken on the phone. The rep said he did not see my email which is comical. The rep then stated they'd return my money and they did not even consider staining/painting the posts. All my attempts to communicate with this company went extremely poorly. The approach of 'I'll come out on my schedule & not meet with you or talk to you on the phone' tells me a lot about this company. They're not the type of company to work with all consumers. If you want to have simple planning conversations to ensure your project goes how you want it to, this is not the company for you. If they handle these deals in this fashion because they're not making any money on them, then there again this is not a company many folks will want to work with.

Very well. I was scheduled for a Friday. Deck Pro called to ask if they could come earlier since it was scheduled to rain on Friday. I was very appreciative and the deck was finished ahead of time.

The work was completed a few days early, which is a positive. The deck looks much better, but a couple of spots could have used a bit more stain. Small spots of stain also was applied to the brick, but isn't very noticeable. The deal was completed as specified.

GREAT... First of all the deck is 18 years old , 800 sq. Ft and this is the fifth time it has been re-stained. The guys did a better job power washing than was done on previous re-finishings. Stain was applied evenly in all areas. It really looks better than what I have had in the past. Deck has always had semi transparent and even now after the fifth re-Stain the grain still shows through nicely, so I am happy. Price was very competitive.

We will defiantly use Deck Pro again.

The vendor was very responsive via email, and everything went well. I thought that there would have been some sanding/smoothing of some areas after the power washing, but that didn't happen. Overall the results were good for the price I paid.

They gave an estimate but never contacted me re: doing the work.

I do not want him to come back to complete the job. I have a partial job done and he refuses to come out to finish the job. He does not take phone calls he only communicates by email and text. He sent a text stating that he will not come back to do the job. He is now upset because I am reaching out to Angie's List after I had to wait a week. This is a two day job according to him and I have partial job done. The first day they are supposed to do the pressure washing and we noticed that we still had cobwebs. The second day he comes back and we question the owner and they accused my husband for cursing him out which never happened. The owner's brother was the person that actually came out to do the work and he left the job after 5 minutes of arriving to our house on day 2.

After he came over and power washed, there were several areas under the deck where the stone and weed barrier had been blown away from the deck posts down to the dirt. He didn't bother to fix this before he left, and I had to go back and fix all of that. The day he stained, I came home and found that the floor of the deck looked very bad and spotty. It was not a uniform color like the rest. After much back and forth over email, he blamed this on product failure, but admitted it looked terrible. I supplied the stain since I had already used this brand before and wanted it to be the same color. I will point out that this is not a cheap stain (TWP) and covers just fine, as I did it myself a couple years ago. I contacted the stain manufacturer and sent pictures of the deck floor, they said this was not product failure and advised to try to go over the light spots again, as the wood may be more dense in these areas. This was brand new wood that had aged for about 18 months. I contacted Jason with their response and asked him to come over on a day I would be home to assess the deck after a few more days of drying. This time I got no response. I sent him a follow up email the day before to see if he would be over the next day, and still got no response. I have not heard from him since, and I am guessing that he has no intention of coming over and fixing the floor. I will also say that much of the areas that are "acceptable" (spindles/railing) are very shiny, which the stain manufacturer points out right on the can that its a sign of over-applying it. So in all actuality, even those sections were not done right. On top of the quality of the staining, he did not cover anything up when he was applying the stain with his sprayer. There was stain overspray on my plants around the deck as well as stain mist on my white sliding glass door. There is also 2 spots about 12 inches in diameter in the lawn where it looked like he cleared his spray hoses out and I'm pretty sure the grass is going to die there. So after all of that, it looks like I'm going to have to end up re-staining half of this myself, which I didn't have time to do...that is why I hired him in the first place. Overall experience was a bad one, and I would definitely not consider him a deck pro.

It went very well. They were very careful to get the color that we wanted. The first color didn't match a trellis we had, but they found a color that did match. They moved everything off the deck and came back and moved everything back when they were done. They do a good job every time, we've used them for about 3 years.

Great. Jason contacted me through email the day I bought the services from Angies List. After he looked at it he was out to do the job two weeks later. He was fast and clean. He even helped me pick out a great color. It took him one day to wash, then one day to paint. My deck looks fabulous.

Great work, very responsive, great price.

He charged me on top of the $199 special, another $183 which included the stain. He cut the boards with precision, but didn't sand the new boards, so your feet would catch every time you walk on them. Also when he nailed down the boards, he only nailed them down at the ends and not in the middle, so when it rained, all the boards had warped within a week after he came out and I had to go out and screw them all down myself.

They performed all work when they said they would, when they said they would. Quality of work was good as well.

I wish I'd thought to trim our hedges back around the deck beforehand so they were less in the way, but they did a great job despite this. They were quick and easy to work with, and our deck looks so much better! They also power-washed our driveway and sidewalks.

Definitely somewhere between an A and A+. I live in Indianapolis. Deck Pro with Jason Glass out of New Palestine, Indiana is definitely going to be my “go to” folks when it comes to getting my deck power washed and stained again (which I will do in about 3 years), or getting repair work done on it. My deck is made of Cedar wood. After the Angie’s List deal of power washing and staining 200 feet of the deck for $199, I still had another 152 feet of deck for pricing. Keep in mind that everything about your deck will be measured to be priced. For my deck this included Decking (i.e., floor and steps) at 208 ft., Posts at 36 ft., Spindles at 52 ft., Hand Rails at 24 ft., and Benches at 32 ft. The extra 157 feet cost $193. I have a small cedar privacy fence bench on other side of the deck that they also estimated, and said they would do for another $195. I told them to give me a price for a long floor board on the deck that had a couple of bad spots (to the point that it was just a matter of time before a foot went through it.) I left an identifying mark on the spots, and they said they would replace the whole board for $25. I checked the total price (including Angie’s List part of deal) with a friend of mine who is a professional painter (indoor only painter), and he said “sounds like a good deal and fair price.” So, we had everything done. They cleaned up after themselves when finished, and even left what was left of the stain (see photo). Wife and I are totally happy with the work - - nuff said. - - Jim Lyons

Bought deal through Angie's List for deck wash and stain. Since I exceeded square footage, cost me more than 50% more for additional space, though my deck isn't that large. They were very prompt in responding to my purchase and coming out to estimate and scheduled at my convenience. Deck looks fine, but they weren't here that long either day. Will see how it wears before deciding if I would hire again. Would like there to be a "Maybe" category for whether I would hire again.

It was good. I have used them before, that is why I used them this time.

They were punctual, polite and the job looks well done.
