I did what I thought was the right thing by talking to various gutter manufacturers, thoroughly evaluating the options for color and gauge of steel, getting multiple quotes from installers, and contacting Angie's List to get a recommendation on the installer I'd selected. Everything looked perfect and my wife and I were so excited to have this final task done to complete our house painting project! I told her when she left for work this morning, "when you come home tonight, you'll have gutters on the house!" The first piece they put up was 5 or 6 inches too long. It stuck out way past the roof edge and it wasn't close enough to the house on the other end. They had to unscrew it, slide it down and it was still too long, so they had to cut it off shorter. The next piece they put up was the right length, but it had too much fall and wasn't lined up right. The third piece they put up was too short, but he said he got it mixed up with another area of the house. He'd measured it for the front and he was trying to attach it on the back. At that point, I called the office and told the lady there, "Things aren't working very good". She said she would have Don call me, that he wasn't in the office, and she would have him call me back. Then she told me to hold on a minute, then I could hear the installers talking to someone and shortly after that, they said they were told to pick things up and go on to the next job. The lady I was talking to said they couldn't get hold of Don and they couldn't just have them stay here doing nothing until they got hold of Don. They had downspouts and pieces laid out all around the house to do the job. They had a couple large pieces already run on the machine ready to be put up. They took a pair of tin snips and cut them all up so they could throw them on the truck. I called her back again and said they didn't really need to do that thinking that they would be able to come back out and finish the job, that it was a waste of material, and it was a shame to cut these pieces all up. I'm thinking what a waste of material when they were already cut to go on the house. She said sometimes that's what we have to do, that she would have Don call me. I told her I'd actually like Don to come out there so we could talk about it and I could show him what was going on and her response was that it as up to him whether he wanted to come out or not, that she'd have him call me. I actually said, if he was to come out here, it would be easier for me to show him than to explain it over the phone.She said they're not used to having someone home, that they're used to doing a job without the homeowner being home is what she said. So the installers got up there on the roof and cut off that piece that was hanging way out, even though they were told to just clean up and leave. In my mind, they wanted to make sure that their mistake was fixed before they left. So they got up there and cut off that piece and then they went around and took photos. When I saw them taking photos, I called the office back and Don answered the phone. I tried to explain to him how I felt and the first thing out of his mouth was, that he would have to get a judgment against me because he wasn't going to come out here and do something for nothing. My response was that he didn't have to get a judgment against me, that I didn't say I wouldn't pay him, that I had cash ready to pay him. I just wanted the job complete and I asked him what it would take to get them out here to complete this job and his response was, “I don't know, I'll have to talk to the office” and he said he would call me back, but he never did. I'm thinking to myself that he told me when I asked him about using the brackets that he said that he was the owner, that's what he was there for, but that now, he has to talk to the office. Why couldn't he make the decision if he was the owner? I just felt it was better to point out the problems rather than have them finish the entire house and then have to re-do work and fix mistakes. I understand that they shouldn't be out money, but I shouldn't be out because they cut up pieces and didn't finish the job. I didn't tell them to cut them up or to leave the job site. As far as I'm concerned, that was a waste of material. I just want them to come back out and finish the job. I feel like him being the owner, he should be able to come out, talk this out with me, that he should be able to get the job done, that he should be paid for a full job, and I should get a full job, not a partial job. I never told them not to do the job. I never told them to leave. I want them to finish the job. We want the job done. I spoke to Christine at Angie's List and she said if I filled out this review form, they would act as an intermediary and try to help me work this out, to get the job completed.

D & B is a great company to deal with. I called them on April 3rd, their salesperson, Jeremy, came out that morning, and two days later I had new gutters.

I'm extremely pleased. The estimator showed up on time, provided a written quote and explained all services that we could expect. The installers had a free afternoon and called ahead to see if they could show up early. When I agreed, they were here within 1/2 hour and began work. No running complaints by the crew. No griping about the height of the second story, pitch of the roof yada yada yada. No complaints about anything! In fact....one of the installers whistled the whole time he was working....except for the time when he broke out in song. The job looks extremely good and I am VERY satisfied. I asked if they wanted a check as they finished the work and they indicated that the office would bill us since they were here early and didn't have the paperwork. WOW. What a GREAT JOB!!!

did everything we asked them to do.however, we were not home when they did the work. we would like to have been present. were unable tobe present due to dr. appts that day. always returned our calls and were very polite.

We will use them again in the future when needed!

There Price was Great, Workmanship was excellent. These came out and got the job done. Never seen them standing around taking breaks. They Worked hard, and Did the job right. My only complaint, some of the works on the second crew that installed the gutters left cigarette butts around our house. I though that was a little disrespectfully. But all in all they did a great job.

They came out to give an estimate a week or two before hand. Price was reasonable, and technician was professional, courteous and knowledgeable. The work was done by two technicians. They were also professional, courteous, and knowledgeable. Overall, a great experience and would do business with them again!

They came when they said they would. They did an excellent job and cleaned up afterwards.

I had everything prepared for new gutters (new baseboards, soffett, paint, old steel gutters removed.) They came right out for the estimate and left it (I was gone at the time.) It was lower than several other estimates. I requested the thickest, .32 guage and got it. I faxed over a signature to approve it. They said they'd be over in two weeks and they were. They had about 5 guys and they went right to work and got it done in an hour or so. They'd already done 3 houses prior to mine that day. One guy asked me to try and find a piece of left over shingles. After I was done looking and before I could talk to the guy, they were all packed up and gone. I was surprised. I was expecting to talk to them and to get on the roof to look it over, etc. There is a corner that is swayed out at my front porch. I almost called them to come back and fix it, but never got around to it. They sent me a bill and I paid it immediately. There have been no follow-up calls.

We added a room onto our house a year ago and I put some guttering up for the last year, but it started to leak. I wanted a continuous gutter, so that it wouldn't leak. D&B came out and gave me a quote, and within a week, had it installed with just one call. I am fully satisfied with their work and excellent response time. I would hire them again immediately if I needed additional guttering.

They were very good. I can't complain about it at all. I have to have trustworthy people, and they were.

They installed my original guttering and then added an additional downspout later. However, I had to have part of my roofing redone and they came out, took down my gutters and replaced them for not charge even though the roofing problem was not their fault. When I suggested that they might still be somewhat slanting, the owner came out himself and made the necessary adjustments again at no charge. They were very, very accommodating and I really appreciated it because I had had a lot of difficulty with the roofing company trying to get them to fix a problem which violated building code.

Everything was perfect. They did a great job. The quality of work was good.

Jeremy, the sales person, met me at the house at the assigned time to initially estimate gutter replacement from the hail damage two years earlier. I mentioned that I would really like to put in a vinyl soffit so I wouldn’t have to paint anymore. He said he could give me an optional quote on doing this work, too, and for me to take a few days to think it over and let him know what I would like to have done. The soffit estimate was a lot lower than I thought it would be so I met with him a couple of days later to pick colors for both the gutters and soffit wrap. The work was scheduled as near to when I wanted it done (around rain storms) and all work completed on time (2 days) by two very professional and pleasant D and B craftsmen. The old gutters and scraps were hauled away and everything was cleaned up before they left. The house looks GREAT. I wish my experience with all home services and repair companies was half as good as with D and B. I hope I won’t have to use them again, but the work came with a 5-year labor warranty, too. Great job!

They did an excellent job overall! They supplied a good product and kept the work site cleanly.

The price was reasonable for what they said they were going to do. They did not do a very good job. We were just going to have some gutters put on. He told me that it was a problem with the venting in the roof. They were $500 cheaper than another company I used for the roof. He just cut a few holes for the venting and now we do not have vents in some parts of the house. His guys were in a hurry to get their job done. When they were all done, the other company told me that he was not sure if that would work or now.

Did not use this company for service. Only quote.

The estimator came out to the house on the day and time specified and gave us the estimate at that time. The workers were out on the job at the designated time and did a great job of installation and clean up. This job was done on a very large house and I could not be happier with the installers and the price.

They've been very good about working us. They seem very willing to work with us if there are any problems at all and they're very quick to do so.

This company was referred to us by a remodeling contractor we used in the past. Their estimater came out promptly to assess our situation and provided a quote to conduct the repairs and installation. The work was scheduled within two weeks. The employees to did the work were polite and professional and did an excellent job. They clean up and removed all excess material from the site.

D&B was the subcontractor for replacement guttering by Spivey Construction when Spivey added a screened porch to our house in 2008 and they had done a great job, so I contacted them for this repair. I set it up by phone, Don came out a couple of days later to see what needed to be done and asked us if we wanted the downspout replaced, as well, since it was dented in a few places, and we said yes. He came out a second time a couple of days later, replaced the downspout and tied it into the buried runoff.

We contacted D & B Continuous Guttering, LLC because they were listed in the March, 2010 Angie's List. We requested an estimate, which was free. The Sales Representative, Jeremy Hill, (jhillatdbgutter@aol.com) was professional, and answered our questions. He made recommendations for a problem area, and explained the extra cost. The installers (Jim and Greg), completed the work efficiently, and paid extra attention to details. They placed their ladders very carefully to avoid our spring bulbs and shrubs, and even cleaned up the mulch that was knocked out of the flower beds.

Great job by a great company. Were responsive to my request for pricing and broke down the cost as I had requested. Once contract was signed, was informed that our color was a special color, and would take about 10 days to get in. Came in early, and was called to let us know that the project would be started on Thursday Feb. 4, 2010. Showed up as scheduled and completed two side of home that day. Returned on Friday Feb. 5th and finished the third side in a snow storm. Came back on Monday to remove additional boxes of material left.

Good. Took about 2 weeks to get them there ( of which 1 week was all rain). They arrived on time and acted professional. They had to drive about 70 miles to my place. I called several places in the Bloomington/Bedford area. Only 1 called me back and he didn't show up for the estimate when he said he would. The guys at D & B Guttering said that they do a lot of business in my area. I can see why.
