Rick Remaly Painting

I was scheduled for 2 painters for the day. The original scheduled date was April 15th. One painter showed up and explained there was an emergency. Nonetheless, he was wonderful and completed much of the work by himself. I was then scheduled for a single painter on June 2nd. This was a different painter and not as prepared as the first painter. He was also did not have complete understanding of the "deal" which I purchased. After numerous back and forth with him, he got started and finished almost all of the painting that I wanted done. They were clean, on time, and professional. I would use them again in spite of the "deal" confusion.

Steve and his partner did an OUTSTANDING JOB!!! I am so pleased with the finishes product. The men were on time, professional, and hardworking. I would def use them again!!!! Thank you!

We had some weather issues and he held his word... even though it took over a year. unreal service...

Don?t bother Had to wait over a month to get a date for the work to begin. Refuses to communicate other than through Angie?s List message center. Communicated at 2:30pm the day before work was to start that only ONE painter would show up and work fast. (Deal was 2 painters for 8 hours). When I questioned my missing 8 hours he said he would have someone come on a different day and finish up. I asked what other days were available and heard crickets. I refused this option and an hour before start time he was still sending one painter. The final excuse was the job from yesterday added a few rooms to the original work order. The other painter will stay with that customer. Sorry for your inconvenience. I have NO idea how this company has an overall ?A? rating.

He didn't call me so I called him and left a message and number. Never called back but did send me an email asking me to take pictures of the damage and send to him. Now how in the world is he going to make an accurate estimate from pictures? AND made me feel my needs weren't even worth a trip out to check damage on his own!

Excellent. The house is up for sale and I live currently in California so it would have been easy to take advantage of the situation but my realtor said it looks great and they even removed the moss from the roof. Rick communicated every step of the way even knowing I am out of town. Highly recommend this company!

Fantastic!!!! Ricky and Ron are miracle workers. - After purchasing all new stainless appliances for my kitchen, they made my dark wood cabinets look old and outdated. I talked to seven contractors/stores regarding replacing the cabinets, refacing them or painting them. I decided painting was my best option due to time and budget. Ricky and one other contractor were just a few dollars apart, but I decided to go with Ricky, as I trusted him after I had several conversations with him by phone, messaging and e-mails. He was very upfront as to telling me exactly what he was going to do, informative and answered all my questions. I could not have made a better choice. Ricky and Ron showed up when expected and did an excellent job. Unbelievably fast, professional and so NEAT. They left everything exactly as it was before they came, except for my beautifully new painted white cabinets. They actually look "NEW". I did have one small issue and Ricky had Ron come back immediately and it was taken care of. In the past , I have experienced contractors doing the job, leaving and if anything needed fixing you could not get them back. This is NOT the case with Remaly Painting. I cannot thank Rick and Ron enough for making my 30 yr. old cabinets looking so, so nice. I now love my kitchen!

Rick showed up when he told me he was going to and fixed what I needed fixing. He did a great job and I hope to have him do more work for me. He was very knowledgable and friendly.

Ron arrived at the early end of the 2-hour window. He and I discussed the painting project. He stayed steady at the project consisting of painting 3 rooms for $299.00. He left each room in very good shape and did a very good job of painting two coats per room. I was please to have the 3 rooms painted by someone other that myself.

Our kitchen cabinets now look brand new and beautiful, thanks to Rick Remaly Painting and Staining. After twenty years, our cabinets had accumulated nicks and scratches, and hard to clean grime. Also the wood stain on the door below the sink had washed off in places due to dripping water. We thought about buying new cabinets or replacing cabinet doors, but decided to try re-finishing first as the most cost-effective solution, and we?re so glad we did. The difference is quite dramatic.Rick arrived on time and finished the work fairly quickly. More importantly he was able to match the existing wood stain, so that it blended in perfectly.

The painter was very nice and did his work with speed. I am happy with his work for the most part, but had to do cleaning up of drips and smears in the last room he did. It is a small bathroom. I should have checked it before he left , that was my mistake. ' I am having two more rooms to be painted by this company, so will see how the next project goes.

It went well. 2nd time we used them. This time Rick's guy, Sherrod was the 1 who painted. Wasn't able to finish the 1st day, so had to come back the next day, for a couple hours.

From all appearances the service was okay. He communicated well and was prompt. The only concern I had was that I had to pay extra cost for the service.

Here's what went right : - The wallpaper removal job went smoothly, and the workmen vacuumed and cleaned afterwards. - One of the workmen carried away 2 bags of debris from the wallpaper job, after I mentioned that I had no easy way to dispose of them personally. This was much appreciated. Here's what went wrong : - This provider twice cancelled scheduled appointments ? in both cases minutes before arrival time. - Rescheduling the first appointment was difficult, as the provider did not respond to my emails or phone calls. I eventually had to ask the Angie team to facilitate rescheduling. - Despite my repeated requests for changes to be communicated to me by phone (I do not have a smart phone which captures email, and it is not possible for me to constantly check personal email for possible messages because of work commitments), the owner refused to comply. The reason he gave is that Angie urges its providers to use email in order to preserve copies of communications -- which is understandable. However, given client preferences, it is always possible to call, then follow up with an email for the record. This awkward method of communication made the cancellations and rescheduling even more personally inconvenient. - Prior to painting, I covered some of the furniture with sheets, and left drop cloths to cover the rest after the pieces had been moved away from the walls; however, the cloths were not used and the top of a hutch now contains drops of white paint from when the ceiling was painted. - The painting job was sub-standard. There were 2 patches on the wall which were not fully covered and in which the underlying wall showed through. In addition, the painter did not remove a wall vent before painting, instead painting around and slightly over the edges of the vent. This resulted in small patches of paint peeling off when I removed the vent to clean it a week and a half after the job was completed. I had to repair all of these defects personally. - The owner indicated he would call me after the final work was completed to ensure everything was satisfactory. I did not hear from him.

This is the second time we've used Rick Remaly Painting and their quality work and professionalism continues. Rick and his crew we're on time both start and completion dates. There was the added benefit of clean up of the site and actually doing some drywall patching that wasn't part of the original scope. I would definitely and plan on hiring them again.

First time he came out he was supposed to patch plaster in ceiling of my basement and it was not done correctly because some of the places where he put plaster over old plaster is still falling down. He said the waterproof paint would do the trick but when he started doing it, he then realized it wasn't working but he kept doing what he was doing. I trusted him and left him to himself because I figured he knew what he was doing. Now I had to have someone come out to fix and I'm probably going to have to pay 5,000 to have them fix it correctly. He decided to look at my dryer as well and he looked at the pipe and said he vacuumed out the pipe that leads to the dryer but now it isn't even the same shape that it was in. He didn't even ask me for approval before doing so. UPDATE: Dear Mr . Renaly, I do not understand why you kept saying I had leaks in my basement when YOU, yourself, saw they had been fixed. There weren't any leaks! There wasn't any mold because YOU, yourself, said so when I asked you 2x. There was just old plaster there that you tore out, left open, and plastered everything else. I originally wanted the whole basement ceiling plastered, but YOU said that it didn't need it. You would patch the basement ceiling and paint over it. As I stated previously,You tore down one big area and one small area. You never plastered it or fixed it. That was to cost me some more money after YOU finished waterproofing the basement. By the way, I had to pay you $300 more than the plastering deal than I had already paid for. Then you came back to waterproof the basement. YOU said YOU would, scrape the walls, waterproof the walls, and then paint them with waterproof paint. YOU never told me you couldnt fix it. YOU never said you didnt know what you were doing!! YOU didn't waterproof the basement. I didn't realize that until you left with the check. You kept saying how clean the basement looked. After you left, I did a thorough going over the basement. I saw the walls were bubbling and cracking. I saw YOU painted the circuit box and another box in the basement. I saw YOU painted any wires that were there. I saw YOU painted the light fixture and spray painted the light. I saw YOU painted the tubes leading from the washing machine to the sink. I saw YOU disfigured the dryer duct. I saw the walls were beginning to bubble and the paint was cracking. What I DIDN'T see was any waterproofing! YOU lied about what you were going to do! YOU'VE continued to lie about how my basement was and what you did ! Please tell the truth!!!!!! YOU took advantage of a senior! YOU took my money under false pretense. Evidently that was your goal all along.

Rick provided excellent communication and scheduling options. A pleasant and professional experience.

They showed up on time and finished when they said they would. I spoke to the painter for a bit and he was a really nice guy who did good work. It was a relatively small job, but was done well and he cleaned up afterward. The painter was pleased that I already had taken the time to move the furniture to the middle of the room and remove all wall and switch plates, etc... He mentioned he was expecting to have to do that himself.

Great! The owner was the painter. Did a great job with painting. Fast, cleaned up, was friendly.

The deal was great, I just need something faster.
