On February 6, Mike, from Trustworthy, showed up and started working on the dishwasher. After about an hour of testing the entire unit, he called Frigidaire. They confirmed what Beeson's had said, that a new control board was needed. He called their parts supplier (a local company), who told him they had the part in the warehouse in Indianapolis and could get it in a couple of days. He did not even turn on the washing machine. He asked if it sounded like a Sherman tank. When I said yes, he said, "I'll go get the part at the parts place and be right back." An hour later he returned, tore the unit apart and replaced the broken parts. Four days later (there was a weekend in there) he came back with the control board. Less than 30 minutes later, he was done. The last thing he said was that their repairs carried a 90 day guarantee. And I got to try it out. The second time we used the washing machine, we noticed a loud squeak in the wash cycle. I called Trustworthy. They offered to schedule a service call the next afternoon, but we were busy, so they made it for the following morning. Again, Mike came out, ran the washing machine and said that the parts he put in were defective and he would replace them. The following day, he showed up with another set of parts and did the repair all over again.
Description of Work: In 2011 we moved into a new custom built home, with all new appliances. In 2013, after the warranty had run out, we started having trouble with our Whirlpool Cabrio washing machine. The store where we bought them, Beeson's Appliances (see my review of them), gave us the run around about parts being back ordered, for about 9 months. While we were "waiting" for these parts, our Frigidaire dishwasher stopped working. They said we needed a new control board, which, of course, was also back ordered. Finally, on February 3, 21014, I went on the internet and found the parts from Frigidaire and Whirlpool, which could be shipped that day. I called Beeson's on February 3 and when I told them about the parts, they said they did not use internet suppliers and ordered only from manufacturers. In the meantime, we had heard about Trustworthy and so, that day, I gave them a call to schedule a service call. The earliest they could work us in was February 6.

I contacted them through email and received a response same evening with some helpful guidance on how best to schedule. Called in AM and was given a time-window for them to come to my home. Jim arrived within that window and provided an estimate following troubleshooting the problem. I gave him the 'go-ahead' and he repaired it efficiently. I came home to a functional refrigerator and - other than that - could not tell that he had even been here. Super pleased with responsiveness and service.

I was really impressed with the service. The technician was very good at explaining what he was doing and why he was doing it. After he found the parts that needed replaced (which he showed me) he was able to contact the office and get the parts ordered. Arranged to have the work finished once the parts came in and now everything is working great.

The first technician came out on August 6, verified that the error message on the fridge was correct (I had looked it up myself and told him what the code meant, but he's got to verify that, I understand). He told me they'd order the replacement part and be back out within the week. Exactly one week later, a different technician is at my house, installing the new part. He was new to fridge repair, but he received guidance via his cellphone from another tech, and it all got worked out. Both techs were friendly, punctual, and professional. I personally appreciated getting a confirmation call when they were on their way over. Don't forget to get $5 off by mentioning Angie's List!
Description of Work: Trustworthy replaced a freezer fan motor in my LG fridge. This fan is very important - because it was broken, the temperatures in my refrigerator were wonky. This meant frozen vegetables in the crisper and milk going bad long before the expiration date. Not good.

MiIchael got our stacked dryer connected to the venting and ordered a longer electrical cord. The electrical cord came the next day and he called me to let me know it had come in. He stayed at the business a little after hours to allow me to come pick it up so my husband could replace it and I could do laundry! He gave me a wealth of information about other appliances that I had and didn't attempt to charge me when I didn't need to be.

The tech sat in front of the washer for over 30 min using smartphone to diagnose problem. Then said the drum was bad and would need to be taken to the shop to repair at over $1,000. Did not replace the pressure sensor. The service guide for the washer has a trouble-shooting guide. I followed the guide and determined it was not the pressure sensor but the solenoid valve assembly. I ordered the part online and replaced it. It works fine. I still feel the tech did not want to get into the washer because it was in a tight spot and the dryer was stacked on top.
Description of Work: Front loading LG washer was not completing the cycle. It stopped after about 20 min and would not continue.

If the technician was on the phone with the LG service line, then the problem must have been an unusual one that required their assistance. If your machine was under warranty, you could have been compensated for some or all of that repair by LG. If not under warranty, we are still required to give the customer the pricing available to us. Sounds like you paid for a service call and diagnosis and that is what we provided. The part that was needed must have cost us a lot or the nature of the job was labor intensive. We cannot always give our customers good news, but it is what it is. the open door sensor was not working properly and the fridge beeped continuously. he determined that it was a control board causing the trouble (not an actual problem with the door). the expensive board was no longer available, but he was able to disconnect the beeping so we could keep using the fridge. he was quick, efficient, friendly and i was extremely pleased.
Description of Work: disconnected the alarm on the fridge which was due to a malfunctioning sensor - new control board was no longer available

The repairman arrived in less than one hour after I called them to sask them to service my older Whirlpool electric clothes dryer. He began by opening the machine and diagnosing the problem. He then carefully explaind to me everything that needed repairing. He was very professional, did great work, and left the area cleaner than he found it. I will definitely use them again for all my appliance repair jobs.

Over the years, we've used Trustworthy to repair nearly every appliance in the house (washer, dryer, hot water heater, vent-free gas heater). This time the gas stove needed attention, so based on our previous good experiences we called Trustworthy. They were prompt to set up a time and arrived on time, calling ahead to ask which door we wanted them to use (it was raining outside). The serviceman was very polite and thorough. On the stovetop burner that was slow to ignite, he said it was a micro-something (I can't remember at the moment exactly what it was called) that needed replaced. He didn't have one on hand, but could repair that later with no extra service charge, just parts and labor, if we wanted. He had the oven ignitor on hand and we definitely needed that replaced as we do a lot of baking. We appreciated the timely repair and the advice given on how to start the slow burner on the range without making the replacement (which we decided for the extra cost we don't need at this time).
Description of Work: On our gas stove, one burner wasn't igniting consistently and the oven was not heating up. The Trustworthy repairman checked both out and replaced the oven ignitor.

Service personnel came to my house three times but only charged me for one service call due to the problems noted above.
Description of Work: Gas stovetop had more orange flame instead of blue. Service individual cleaned system and installed new part that mixes gas and air prior to getting to burner. Problem not fixed. More experienced service individual came out and checked system again. He stated he though the gas company might have added something to the gas to make it flow better in cold weather and it could burn orange instead of blue. Two weeks later blue flame returned.

They successfully diagnosed it's demise. It needed to be replaced. They put a lot of effort into this, they had to call the manufacturer to scramble the codes and find out that it wasn't worth repairing.

-covered everything above-repairman was polite and cordial, but, in speaking with him, did not seem to know what he was doing-did not go any farther in taking things apart than i did-did not test other parts-saying whirlpool had done some troubleshooting with him, when they told me they would never try problem solve over the phone-i have to think something was fishy-and the $180 cost for a part that was way overpriced-never covered possible problems he would check-totally left me wondering-and then not returning my call(i told him what i was calling about)he also smelled strongly of cigarette smoke
Description of Work: gas dryer was not totally drying loads on sensor dry-i checked usual-vent, lint collector, inside of cabinet-all clean -i took front bottom off and loosened door panel-reached point of my expertise and called repairman-came next day-cordial-but said he would have to put everything back together to do estimate-then told me he would have to charge me for that-started evaluation, taking things off that he had just put back on-he then said he had to talk to his supervisor and would call whirlpool for advice-came back 20 minutes later(couldn't get phone connection)-said everyone agreed on what i had said in the first place-moisture sensor wasn't working(i could not find this part in parts sheet)(also found out later that whirlpool does not have troubleshooting department and would not do over the phone problem-solving)-he then said it would be $330.00 total(with first visit charge) to fix it-i was surprised- he said part cost $180.00-told him to forget it-talked to two co-workers who had bad experiences with trustworthy who suggested i check on the part at local parts store-could not find sensor costing more than $5-$20-told timer switch was most expensive part at $100-called repairman back to find out part number-he never returned call

[Member name removed] In response to your review I would like to address all of your concerns. On 12/28/2012, one of our technicians went to your home to perform a service call on your dryer. The technician did find the machine disassembled and did have to put it back together in order to properly diagnose the problem. The first step in diagnosis is to see the unit running in order to check all operations. Re-assembly took 15-20 minutes. After checking operations and checking sensors for resistance, he needed to consult the Whirlpool tech support line. This resource is available to factory trained authorized technicians. At that time he was unable to get a signal on his phone. He then drove down the road a ways to get a signal to call the tech line. After consulting the tech line it was determined that the dryer needed a new moisture control, (not a sensor) The technician then gave an estimate of $303.43 total price. Our normal price on that part was $180.00 at that time. The price of that part has since come down by $60.00. I checked with the supplier to verify that the price in December was the correct price, and it was. The technician did not remember being asked to furnish the part number. The technician that we sent has 8 years of experience in appliance repair and is very thorough and conscientious. We have been in business for over 25 years and have built a good reputation for prompt, professional service at a resonable price. The repair was performed by Jimmy, and he arrived at around 10:29 am. He turned the appliance on and went through a series of functions and found the problem to be a broken motor coupler. Went out to his vehicle and got a replacement coupler and proceeded to replace the broken coupler with the new one. Jimmy performed all the repairs was finished in just a little over a half hour. He was very professional and didn't take a very long time doing the repair. If any of my other appliances break down, I would call Trustworthy in a heatbeat.
Description of Work: Repair was made on a Kitchenaid (Whirlpool) clothes washer. The motor coupler was replaced.

The serviceman arrived early within the scheduled window appointment time. He was very polite and courteous as he introduced himself and began to evaluate the repair. He was very thorough and ran a few diagnostics on the washer to confirm the origin of the problem. It was a bad computer module. He called Whirlpool to get the correct part number and then went to get the part. The serviceman returned 30 minutes later. He installed the part, ran a test to make sure everything was working properly, and then put everything back in its place. He wrote up an invoice for the repair $280 which included a $60 service call fee. Overall a very professional and pleasant experience. I would definitely use this company again.

The tech was very friendly and professional. He had the problem found, went to get parts, and had it repaired all within an hour while my daughter and I played cards waiting, so we appreciate the quickness of service. It seems like a little more than I expected it to cost, but I really don't have any basis for comparison. All in all, I am very happy with their service, very happy with their tech, and can move on with selling the house.

The electric lighter in my oven was broken, although I didn't know that was the reason the oven wouldn't heat up. The technician came within the designated hour, was friendly and professional to me and my dog, and got right to work. He had the replacement part on him, explaining that these things break often (and that the "self-clean" function on ovens is a bad idea!! Good to know). Within an hour he had it fixed and it was working. I just thought it was a little expensive, but it's my first time getting an oven fixed, so maybe that's normal.

I called Trustworthy Appliance and they were able to get someone out relatively quickly, faster than any other appliance place I called. The young man who came was very friendly and went right to work on the washer. He quickly determined what the problem was, but needed a part that could take a while to come. He then gave me two different options for fixing it. Option 1 - order the part and come back next week. Option 2, bypass the part and do a quick fix to get the machine going, even though it would eliminate a feature on the machine. I choose option 2, and he had my washer working less than an hour later. The cost was very reasonable as well! I would definitely use them again. I liked that he gave me two options and let me make the call, and I was so happy to get my washer working again.
Description of Work: Our washer stopped working mid cycle, ack! They were able to fix the washer so I could get my clothes clean and dried.

It was great, as it has been on previous repair calls. They're prompt and reliable and will even suggest self repair tips to try before making a house call. My AC compressor would not come on. I checked circuit breakers and none were tripped. Trustworthy arrived promptly. The guys were friendly and they figured out the problem within minutes and had the compressor back in operation.

I called on Thursday 11/3/11 for service for my dryer as the heating element quit working, or at least that is what I thought. They gave me a time for 8 AM - 1 PM to arrive at the house. They were there by 12:00, and had it fixed within an 45 mins. This is the second time I have used them, the first I wasn't home. But the service man was professional, answered my questions and very very polite. I would definitely use this company again.
