They did a wonderful job. Our garage doors made our house look so nice and it added great curb appeal. We would definitely recommend Steve's Overhead Door Co. They are very easy to work with; its very smooth process.

From the first call to request a quote through to installation working with Steve's was one of the best experiences we have had with a home improvement contractor. They were timely for meeting with for the estimate, they did not try to oversell or push products that were not needed. We went with a very standard door type (double sided steel with foam between the panels. We visited their show room to see what we were getting and the representative was very helpful. The installers showed up on time and finished the job quickly and professionally.

They are really amazing. We thought it will be more expensive, even replace. But they do homework, and now the door doe not even show the hit. They also lubricate the door and it works even better than before. They came at night in about an hour. We are really happy wight their services.

I called at 2:30pm and they had a person in the area that was just about to head in for the day. So he ran over and completed everything within a 30 to 45 minutes of the initial call. Remind you it was near zero degrees when he was there. Not ideal temperatures to work in. But was extremely quick and polite. Plus I like that they spray the door parts without being asked. Will definitely use again.

The sales rep came a few weeks before the installation and explained the process and showed us our choices of doors. He explained everything we needed to know about replacing the old door. Since our house is older we needed to do the lead test, which he was able to to that day. If the door had ever been painted with lead paint, there would have been an additional cost to the hauling away of the old door. Luckily our door did not test postive for lead. Once we picked out the door and mechanism we wanted to purchanse, we were given an installation date two weeks later. The time was set for the installation. The team of two people arrived on time and completed the work carefully and competently. We were satisfied with the work done. They gave us instructions on maintenance and care of the system. They were professional and we can recommend their services.

The technician arrived on time and was friendly and knowledgable. He took the time to grease and lubricate the doors parts(something we didn't ask for but are grateful for the quiet operation now) and then without a word from us took it upon himself to lube the other door too! All this on a Saturday with no prior appointment. I don't know if he had plans he was dreading that day or what but I appreciated the extra effort and and would call them again with highest confidence. My door is always opening, Dave, Laffayette

Brian did an excellent job at surveying the situation, explaining what needed to be done, and resolving my issue. Matter was completely resolved in about 15-20 minutes. Brian was very helpful in explaining how to prevent this problem from happening in the future, and what most likely caused the incident to occur. Garage doors works better than it ever has.

They were in the area and were able to stop by in less then 1 hour from calling them. They replaced both spring , and did an overview of the opener and found a part that was going bad. They had the part needed on the truck and was able to fix it before it went bad. They showed me the part and said what was breaking and asked if I wanted it changed. They said it might be good for some time, but it would go bad and changing it now would save a service charge down the road.

The spring broke on my mother's garage door which was installed in the 1970's. He suggested replacing both springs which was what we wanted. He tested everything several times to be sure it was working with different garage door openers. The job was finished in about an hour. We were very pleased with his work.

One of the torsion springs broke on my 1960's era garage door. I am usually a DIY kind of guy, but without proper tools, this is a very dangerous job. I called on Wednesday and they gave me a quote and scheduled me for 10:00 Thursday morning. At approximately 9:30, Jeff called to let me know that the job that he was working on was going to take a little longer than anticipated and that he would be approximately 30 minutes later than scheduled. Jeff arrived when he said he would, and replaced both torsion springs and the mounting bracket. Once upon a time, prior to my owning the house, the bracket had been modified and it nearly broke during the repair. Fortunately, It did not and no one was hurt, and we now have a safe and functional bracket. Grand total for Parts and Labor, just under $240 1YR. Warranty on Labor 3YR. Warranty on Parts

Better than expected and I expect alot!

I contacted this company both through Angie's list and directly by e-mail. They never responded!

The technician arrived at the appointed hour the next morning, and made relatively short work of my new garage door. In the process of installation, he discovered the source of the problem with the safety sensor, and fixed it? so the new sensors were not needed and were removed from the work order. The door opener was repaired, and the old door disappeared into the truck. My garage was clean (no loose parts or leftover scraps), and the new door works like it?s supposed to. Prompt, courteous, and competent service: that?s exactly what you need when the garage door won?t open. That?s what Steve's Overhead Door Co. provides. They are my go-to provider for garage door problems.

Overall, the service was great. The staff was very professional. A man was supposed to come and test our old garage door for lead, he postponed twice, then never showed up. We had to call Steve's again to get him to come so we could get the door ordered and installed.

They were very good. They were speedy and they got right to work. It only took a few hours and they were totally done and gone. The awnings look very nice.

We have used Steve's overhead door several times in the past few years. They have always been great. They always seem to come the same day and take care of the problem. I have had a broken spring, door bumped by car, and a door opener failure. All have been taken care of quickly and professionally.

The technician (Brian S.) showed up, shook hands, and immediately went to work on the hung-up door. I think he had the first door back and readjusted in about 8 minutes. The second door had to have some gears replaced, and Brian had those handy, and that was perhaps a 15 minute job start to finish. Brian suggested a few things that would extend the life of the door and how to maintain them going forward, even to the point of checking my cans of grease, oil, and cleaners for proper contents, schedule of use, and (best yet for me, as a scientist), why certain substances belong on the rails, chains, and spring. He checked the door from top to bottom (while pointing out what I need to look for and test), and found a few loose bolts and such that were in need of attention. I feel like I have a solid set of garage doors now and also know how to spot problems and do preventative maintenance (which I was previously clueless about). All of this work and education occurred in about a 35 minute span. Amazing and impressive. Add to this that I called Steve's Overhead Door (John answered the phone) this morning at 9:30AM, and Brian was here by 3PM. I expected an appointment next week or perhaps the week after. Top-shelf service all around, efficiency, practical education on maintenance, and the bill was way lower than I was expecting for replacement. I called back to the main office just to relay my satisfaction with the job. Thank you! Very happy with the experience, anyone in Lafayette area would do well to have these folks come by for an estimate or do the job.

Spring broke on garage door on Sunday. Called them at 8am on Monday and they were there by 9am same day. I was not able to be at home but had left side garage door open. I have never had this type of repair done before, so they were recommended by a friend. Thrilled to come home to a garage door that opens! Door also operates alot quieter and smoother than before. No complaints.

My garage door opener suddenly became inoperable when it tried to raise the door. It went up a foot or so then would stop making a grinding sound near the front of the track. With the opener disengaged it was very heavy to lift the 16' wooden door. Steve's overhead door company was recommended by a trusted neighbor. Reviews on Angie's list confirmed customer satisfaction. The staff was very knowlegable when I called and could identify the problem by my description. A prompt service call was arranged when I could be home. Brad arrived promptly accompanied by Michelle the office bookkeeper who was riding along so she could better understand the customers needs and procedures. The problem was diagnosed correctly and repaired. Then Brad took the time to tighten bolts, adjust a bent track form a previous owners backing into it. With the spring tension adjusted and moving parts lubricated the door was much easier to lift manually and the Genie door opener now operates very smoothly. Brad demonstrated suggested routine maintenance and took the time to measure for a possible front tension spring should the large springs ever break. Overall I was very pleased by the excellent and professional service at a reasonable price. In the future I would not hesitate to call them for service or a new door or operator.
