Description of Work: This is an update to my review of the Basement Waterproofing completed on my home in October, 2015. It has now been 9 months since the projected was completed. I endured 14 years of major seepage and water damage and was doubtful anyone could completely remedy the situation. I have not found ONE DROP of water since Nova completed the job! I did find a puddle of water approximately one month after completion and Nova sent a gentleman to check it out immediately - turned out my water heater was leaking!

Description of Work: Rerouted downspouts away from house to prevent standing water in yard and basement window wells from overflowing during storms. They did a fabulous job. In the initial estimate, Phil suggested we try rerouting the downspouts first, as that was probably 70% of the problem. If that didn't do the trick, he could come back and replace one or more window wells as needed. He could have recommended we replace all three window wells at the same time. Nice to know there are honest people out there. The guys that came to do the work did a great job and left the yard cleaner than when they arrived. I couldn't be happier. You can't go wrong with this company.

Description of Work: We have had moisture in our crawl space that over the years finally effected our floor joists. Nova dug drain trenches, lined the space with vinyl and installed a sump pump and dehumidifier to handle the wetness. They replaced rusting floor jacks and lifted and secured the floor joists. They also neutralized mold that had developed on the underside of our floor boards. It was a very large undertaking and took a 3 man crew 5 days to complete the job. Their bid was competitive with that of another company. |No one wants something like this to happen to their home but the people from Nova made the situation a little easier to get through. |

Description of Work: Overall I am pleased with the job. I did have to ask them return to do an area that I think should have been done in the beginning. In hindsight I should have asked at the time of the first installation, not after I saw water again. Since that second time, we have not had any visible water seepage.

+ -1 moreI found them through Angie's List. They were somewhat expensive in my mind. However, when I discussed their pricing with some of my friends. Their pricing was comparable to other's within the area. They were on a very tight schedule due to the water issues within the area. Fortunately, they communicated very well on a time frame in which they could repair mine.
Description of Work: To begin the process, the company completed an analysis of my water problem in the basement. They found a hole in the crawl space which needed to be repaired. Also, they added insulation. They recommended the use of a humidifier for reduction in moisture and mold.

+ -1 moreNova answered my call promptly. Salesman professionally explained what would be done and the costs involved. I immediately signed the contract with no pressure on his part. He said the work might not begin for some weeks. A few days later when I found out that my father would be available to let the workmen in and supervise my nosy cats, I called Nova to firm up a specific date. Happily for me, Nova moved the date from September to the very next day. Installers were very efficient and were courteous and accommodating with my father. Jim Nova himself showed up once to monitor the progress. They cleared out all my debris and cleaned up after themselves. They even put grass seed in my neighbor's yard where they had parked the cement truck. I wouldn't call Nova "cheap" (which is why I gave them a "B" on price), but their work is worth every penny. You definitely get what you pay for.
Description of Work: A brick wall in my Michigan basement collapsed due to hydrostatic pressure after a heavy rainstorm, resulting in a wet pile of brick debris and sandy mud, exposing part of my house foundation. Nova temporarily reinforced the foundation, cleared out the dirt and debris and put up a thick wall of concrete and rebar with a wood front.

Good at what they do. Job was completed in one day. They came very well prepared, no running back and forth. They worked until the job was done. They cleaned up after themselves. No mess was left behind.

+ -1 moreThe Nova salesman and installers were professional, prompt, courteous and efficient. We had called people we knew from their list of references and all were pleased with Nova. The work progressed as they promised. The warranty and other paperwork came promptly. We had gotten estimates from two other companies; one group used high pressure car salesman sales techniques, including calling back with a "deal of the day", which was very unprofessional for this type of work.
Description of Work: Nova installed a basement drain system, including 2 sump pumps, and 2 yard drywells. So far no water problems!
