We were having issues with water coming up from under the floor and covering a fair amount of the floor in our unfinished basement. After getting a quotation from Everdry, we decided to get a second opinion.. Everdry had quoted over $25,000 for a large amount of work to be completed in our basement (exterior excavation, interior sealing, new drain tile etc.). Nova sent their rep in and after some inspection determined the major issue was that the sump pump was not set to start up at the right time and the existing drain tile was not draining. He recommended a new sump pump ($500) and a dehumidifier ($1,200) as it was a little musty in our basement. If that did not fix the problem, he had a stage 2 and stage 3 plan if needed (all three stages combined were still less work and cost than the Everdry quote). We decided to go with their plan to start. Their installer was in exactly on time and completed the work in a few hours as quoted. The new sump ran pretty continuously for the next few days and since then it looks like the sump and dehumidifier was really all we needed. We have had one small leak over the past year in a different area and Nova recommended either adding a small bit of connecting drain tile to fix the issue, or adding a small channel to the floor to allow the water to drain to the sump. Nova was very upfront about our issues and did not try to oversell us. I would highly recommend Nova and have to others. Please make sure you get multiple quotations for work like this and don't be pressured to sign a contract before you have multiple quotations (Everdry is a very hard sell company and will try to get you to sign something the same day - don't do it), we saved ourselves over $20,000 by just making a second call

It was excellent. I was very pleased. They were extremely punctual. Actually, they took less time to do the job than what they anticipated. They cleaned up after themselves everyday and I was extremely happy with them. The first impression with them was that they were not trying to tell me anything that I didn't need. Their pricing and their explanation of whatever work that was necessary to be done made a lot of sense to me, whereas other companies that I had spoken to seemed to be inflating what I needed to have done. I was very happy with the way they approached the job that needed to be done. I knew that they were very busy at that time and they fit me into the schedule as soon as they could. They didn't fix water damage because by that time the water had stopped coming in, so there was no more damage to be fixed by them. So they were doing water proofing so that we wouldn't have the same problem again in the future. They were wonderful to deal with. I have recommended them to other people.

3The representative was prompt, courteous and answered all my questions thoroughly. Ultimately, we did not contract with them as they were priced above what we were willing to pay. They did seem to have a very thorough system but it just was not in our budget.

It was a lot of work for the 3 man crew. Spent 2-1/2 days breaking out concrete. Another 1-1/2 days putting it back together. Mine was not a normal installation. I had 2 pits installed. 1 was a settling pit and 1 was a pump pit. Also had the floor crossed in an H pattern because the majority of the water was coming thru cracks in floor. Josh the boss of the crew kept us well informed and really did a super job. His associates were far from stellar.. often just standing around while things could have been done. Cons: Just a issue with concrete bubbles leaving some holes. Will be repaired. Very dirty operation. While they covered things with plastic, dust still got under and covered everything. Sealed off furnace for 3 days and kept most of the dust from coming upstairs. Will take a month or so to make basement usable again. It does work well. Would recommend only having done if you get a lot of water. We were only getting 4-5 shop vacs full in the worst cases. Would highly recommend Nova. Prompt, courteous, and general good company to work with. UPDATE: .This is a followup on my original review. They had to come out and bust up installed concrete because holes appeared in it. They were 3-5 inches deep, about the size of a quarter. We had to be sure that concrete had not contaminated tile system. This made another mess that my wife had already started to clean up. Worker did a stellar job of trying to keep mess to a minimum but it still made some mess. He also cleaned up yard that original crew had left a disaster. Company tries hard to service customers, but they have some employee issues. Yes, I would recommend them to anyone. BUT, Would only have this done if you get a lot of water. It really makes a mess of your home.

The whole front of my tri level is a crawlspace. I had plastic covering the dirt floor. I was getting a musty smell in my family room. Two men came in the morning and worked until 1PM. They removed the plastic, cleaned the cobwebs, tied up any cable wires on the ground and raked everything smooth. A hole was dug and any pieces of brick or stone on the floor were buried. A white liner, somewhat like a swimming pool liner was laid on the floor and then run up all the brick walls. When they were done, the whole crawlspace was white and clean. I can now store a few things (probably in a Rubbermaid container) in this space. No more musty smell!!

The salesperson was responsive, prompt, and genuinely interested in providing a solution to our situation. He took the time to understand our system and then discussed it with the company owner. They came back promptly with their solution and quote. We scheduled the work over two days, and they, substantially, completed the work in the first day. The crew that came worked well together, and cleaned up after themselves so the backyard looked like no work had been done. There was a subsequent bit of piping that had to be done, and that was scheduled and handled promptly.

Flood Test and Flush system however the technician didn't take any water into the crawl space. No hose. Nothing. How does one do a 'flood test' without water? How does one 'flush' a system without water? Clean sump pump liner but again no water, no hose... no vacuum cleaner. It's a mystery. Only recommendation was a letter a short time later warning me that the warranty required sump pump to be on dedicated electrical circuit... couldn't be on an extension cord... but the installation (extension cord) was exactly as THEY did it and left it. UPDATE: It seems my particular system is not subject to a flood test thus no need for water. Sump is cleaned with the water in it. Service is being re-priced since it doesn't involve all the items.

well they came & put plastic around all the things i had removed from close to wall, did there thing with the jack hammer, cleaned there mess as they went, installed every thing talked about, fixed floor where they worked & cleane up all mess made by them. outside they did the same thing. picked up mess replanted all the plants/flowers they had to remove to do the work. walked around with foreman, inspected job & paid them. well pleased with the crew that did my basement. woulb be happy to recomend there work & workers

This is a company that I would definitely recommend if anybody is needing any work with any basement or foundation work or water control. They were very responsive. They were extremely professional. They cleaned up when they were done. They were wonderful to work with. During the time that they were here, they gave us a quote of how long they expected to be here and they didn't take as long as they thought. As compared to other quotes for the same services, they were reasonable.

They quoted me $9000. They were a couple of thousand dollars more expensive than the company I chose to go with but maybe there were a couple of other things they were going to do but they were things that I didn’t feel like I needed. They wanted to go all the way around the basement rather than doing the interiors, plus they wanted go two lines down the middle of the basement, and that would have cost additional money to do all that. They felt it was important to do their way because they thought I might get seepage from underneath but the other two companies that gave me estimates did not feel that that was the case. They were very professional it is just that everybody uses slightly different system and they felt this was absolutely the best for my situation but I didn’t care for their system. I thought they were little bit expensive and after my investigation on the internet, I didn’t feel their system was right for me. They were very knowledgeable, very attentive and answered all my questions.

My experience with this company was all positive. They were friendly and professional and did excellent work. When they came for the initial estimate, they inspected my basement from the inside and outside. Without being pushy, he suggested other areas that could be improved in the future with my egress windows and downspouts and gave estimated costs. The Epoxy injections were done in 2 sessions and the their finished appearance is nice and smoothed down. None of the cracks have leaked water since. The work is guaranteed for the life of the home, regardless of ownership. I highly recommend this company and wouldn't hesitate to use them again.

The salesmen was excellent. He did a thorough inspection of the basement in a short period of time and pointed out where prior patches from a different company were holding well and where water was coming in over the front steps in addition to the primary crack that concerned me. He suggested that I seal the front steps area myself to save money and then quoted me just for the more serious cracks. This was sharp contrast to a competitor who quoted me a full basement system at literally 20 times the price. The workman showed up on time, professionally completed the job, locked up my house when he left, and then a different worker came the following week to finish up the job. It looks great and has held well in subsequent rains. I would recommend Nova to anyone.

Due to a previous non-professional "contractor," my basement was insulated and paneled without addressing a foundation crack that was known to be there. Now, several years later, I found water in my basement in spite of the "contractor's" multi-layers of plastic, insulation, glue, drywall, etc. which (unbeknownst to me) he used to hold back the leak. Water had apparently been accumulating within the wall for all this time! Nova didn't just seal the crack, but was also able to carefully remove the paneling, dry out the water, sand and remove all cement/glue, mold, and put it back up just as before. They were highly accommodating, professional, and thorough in their work. When the final bill was presented, Mr. James Nova himself brought it and explained each charge in detail. This company was highly recommended by a local contractor. When they initially came to my home they explained what they do and how they do it. They left me with a comprehensive folder of the products they use in addition to pages and pages (literally hundreds) of endorsements by local customers they've done work for. Seeing many names of people I know, I got glowing recommendations from them on the quality of work Nova Basement Systems does. I can't remember ever working with a more pleasant, professional company.

They were friendly and professional. Companies here seem to be more interested in customer service than the companies I dealt with in Chicago. I don’t know if it’s a small town thing. They call, they are flexible and schedule at your convenience. They call to remind you and to check to see if you still want the appointment. They show up exactly on time. They go above and beyond. There was an issue with some standing water at one of the exterior drains that was concerning me because I didn’t want standing water near the house. The serviceman actually dug out a deep trench and now the water is draining away and into the woods. He did everything he needed to do and he reported everything he had done. He made sure I understood about the condition of the equipment and what he did to make sure it was in functioning order.

Very professional, punctual, good resources like a booklets, folders and computer presentation. Everything was great except for the price. It was about $45/linear foot, where I was able to buy all the supplies and do it myself for less than half that. Bottom line - great service, price too high. Other areas can have similar service for $25-35/linear foot for water barrier baseboard waterproofing.

I only talked to them on the phone once. They didn’t come out. They were at least double the price of another company. I would score the price low because it was going to cost us a lot more.

Nova scheduled the first appointment for mid-March and arrived 15 minutes early. The crew took great care to cover our wood floors to get to the basement. They were in the house about 6 hours performing the services. They had to drill holes into the cracks, place ports to inject epoxy and injected the epoxy to seal the cracks. They also placed a sealing compound over the cracks to cover them and seal in the epoxy. The crawl space was excellent with a thick heavy duty, puncture proof material lining the walls and floor. They had to schedule a second appointment to complete the job. This was completed on 4-21 due to me having obligations that prevented it from being done sooner. One man arrived on time and removed the ports and cleaned up all residue from the epoxy. He re-sealed over the cracks with another compound that also better matched the walls. We have had several severe storms since the first service was completed and not a single leak presented itself! The service men left my house as clean as they found it on both occasions. They really seemed to respect my property.

Less than a week after the agreement was made, and after Doler removed the furnace, A/C, and obstructing ducts, Nova's workmen arrived. They removed the mud and brick debris, and then constructed the wall pretty much the same as they did in 2007 (please refer to my earlier report for details). Workmen were efficient and professional and the job was finished on time. On one of the days both Nova and Doler crews were present, but worked around each other with no complications. New wall is as solidly constructed as the previous wall. Despite further soaking rains that summer, I have had no further basement problems.

They came out and did a very good job on the estimate for us. The technician that came out was very nice and came out right on the scheduled time and he provided a lot of really good information to us.
