Description of Work: Routine maintenance on furnace/air conditioner. Contract for two times a year for $160. This was the AC checkup. He cleaned and checked the AC and cleaned the filter and checked the unit outside. Went well.

Description of Work: This company installed a new furnace in our home about 9 years ago. This was an Amana Furnace.Although we had continuous problems with this furnance and company we still called them since it was 12 degrees outside and we had no heat. They could come the next day to fix the problem. When they arrived they said the furnance needed to be replaced. They quoted a $4200 price. We told them we would think about our options and let them know later in the day.We called them that evening to tell them we would not need their services. We then called another company that was listed on Agies List. We had not been members before.The new company came and was beyond excellent. Entire furnance was cost was about $2200. This furnace was an UPGRADE to our previous furnance with a 10 year guarantee. When you get older it is harder to change companies.... We have learned our lesson.

overall, it went well, which we've come to expect from this company.
Description of Work: Repaired the inoperable furnace - the thermostat was shorted. Replaced with a programmable thermostat. Check up of the AC system found 2 components near end of life, these were replaced also. Very thorough, very professional, arrived on-time as promised.

I was impressed with the good reviews that they had on Angie's List. They sent a tech out to look at my broken unit. He answered all of my questions and was very professional. He gave me some good suggestions. I had to replace the 23 year old unit. They worked with my time schedule and they were able to get to the job quickly. They were so quiet. I'm not sure that they talked to each other. They got the job done quickly.

Tech was courteous and neat-went well and on-time. We will continue using them.
Description of Work: We have a yearly maintenance contract (clean & tuneup A/C and Heating-2 visits)- better price than just one cleaning, discounts on repairs, priority service. We've been very satisfied. They will give you a 2 hour window when the tech will come so you don't have to wait around half the day. ($139 is for 1 year-2 cleanings).

It was fixed, fairly quickly, but it cost more than expected.
Description of Work: Diagnosed the problem as a broken relay switch. Replaced it but that one failed immediately. Diagnosed a broken blower which was supposed to cost $800-900. Tried to sell me a WHOLE NEW FURNACE/AC for $5,000 instead. The final price was $1100. They did fix it, but it cost more than I had expected.

We do have some overhead items like, picture I.D's, Drug Screening, Back Ground Checks, Driving Records and other measures to ensure the employees that we send you are the best that can be found. 3 out of 5 we can't hire because of these standards but we will continue to provide you with these quality individuals and at the best price we possibly can... we do appreciate your business and we need your business. They were pretty good. They came the night that I called. I asked if he was going to charge overtime and he said no. His prices were pretty much about what everybody else would be. I would definitely hire them again in the future.

I had three estimates for this work and choose Becht. They were in the middle price wise, however offered more energy efficient units, had better warranties (lifetime on heat exchanger and 10 years on all the rest), showed proof of certifications, background checks on employees, performed calculations to ensure the unit size was correct for the house. Installation took longer than expected, due to the extremely tight confines of my furnace closet. However they were able to make it work by customizing the duct work that connected to the air return, without reducing the air flow. New units are much quieter than my previous units. I would recommend this company to others.
Description of Work: Removed old furnace and air conditioner. Installed new furnace, air conditioner, dynamic filter, anti-bacterial light in coil and thermostat.

Heard nothing all day Tuesday. Heard nothing Wednesday until I called at 4pm. Someone called me back right away to tell me that part my furnace needed had been ordered and would be installed next day (Thursday)! Thursday the repairman arrived ready to complete the repair. We also wanted repairman to clean and service the unit. He couldn't, saying we had to call in to the office to have someone else come out and do that. We also wanted AC serviced. We had to set up another appt to get that done. We chose to purchase their service plan, primarily so we don't have to go through finding another company. If that doesn't go well we may need to reevaluate.
Description of Work: Furnace went out, called the company and they scheduled someone to come out a couple hours later. A serviceman arrived as was advised. He was polite, helpful, wore shoe covers when in the house. Found the problem with the furnace, even showed me how to make the furnace run while we were waiting for the new part, which was to be installed the next day (Tuesday). We also (later) arranged to have the A/C serviced so we didn't forget!

We have implemented a handheld FAST technology that now puts your call on HOLD, displays the part needed, orders it form the device and sends a copy to the supplier and a conformation to our office. We then can tell you the expected arrival time of that part (if it is not already available in town) and give you this information before he leaves your home. If it is after hours it will generate a call with confirmation the first thing the following morning. We now schedule all parts the day they arrive with no back log. WELL I SUPPOSE MAINLY BECAUSE I HAVEN'T HAD TO CALL THEM AND HAVE THEM COME OUT HERE AND REPAIR PROBLEMS ON A ROUTINE BASIS. I HAVEN'T HAD ANY PROBLEMS SINCE I HAD THE FURNACE INSTALLED IN 2001.

AT FIRST THEY WERE GOING TO CHARGE US BECAUSE THEY DIDN'T TAKE MY WORD FOR IT THAT WE HAD A WARRANTY, BUT THEN WE FOUND THE RECEIPT AND IT WAS FINE. THEIR OFFICE FILES AREN'T THAT GREAT, SO PEOPLE SHOULD KEEP THEIR RECEIPTS. EVERYBODY WAS VERY NICE AFTER THAT.
