White Oak Construction

This company is very pushy and do not listen to their potential customers! We (Wife and I) received a call from their 1-800 number while we were in a meeting, I stepped out and explained to the Rep. what was going on and that we would be able to call back in a couple hours. The guy on the other end was desperate to make an appointment and started to spout off available times for someone to come out, I just ended up having to yell at the guy "my wife and I are currently in a meeting we will call to make an appointment". I hung up and a few moments later my wife got a call from the same guy and he was just as pushy towards her! A day has passed and we received another call I was at work and explained it wasn't the best time to talk, the guy on the other end proceeded to say "Umm, yea ok bye." They have since listened to our needs of having a very busy schedule and allowing us to call back to make that appointment like we have done with 4 other window companies. Not very professional in my book. They will not be getting our business.

They were very professional and the installation took less than 2 hours. I am very satisfied with the quality of their work.

Recently went to the Indianapolis Home Show; Scheduled an appointment for them to come to my home to write and estimate for new windows. An appointment was quickly scheduled. They called later that day to confirm directions. I gave them exact directions. The day of appointment the driver was 15 minutes late because he still got lost. Then before he even walked into my home, the person from the company asked where my husband was. I advised he had an appointment to go to and couldn't be here. They advised me that they cannot write and estimate if my husband was not home. They said when it comes to purchasing new windows a lot comes with it and both of us need to be available. He said I would need to call and reschedule when both of us are available. I have purchased new windows before and I don't need my husband here to help me make a decision. Later the manager called me to see if my husband was now home to see if they can come back. I advised it was HORRIBLE customer service to tell me that they cannot write me an estimate and that I would be taking my business elsewhere. Then just today, they had the nerve to call my husband on his cell phone to see if they can reschedule. He told them to get lost. This company obviously does not like to deal with women or listen to what I had to say. I would never ever recommend them to anyone and hope that you take them off this list or at least they have a negative rating.

Was done much sooner than anticipated. Previously, we had them replace a roof and we were very pleased.

It was absolutely wonderful. They came in, they knew what they were doing, you cant even see that it was caulked because it was perfect. They were really good with my animals (3 dogs) They were professional and just really nice. They were very clean and made sure to take off their boots every time they came in. My door was slightly off and one of the men went above and beyond to adjust that as well. If anyone ever needs windows and doors replaced I would absolutely recommend them!

We did not use them because the guy, Clark, that did the estimate was very pushy. We wanted to look around and make sure that was what we wanted to do and try other places, but he wanted us to sign something that night. I am sure their windows are fine quality, but their prices are not. They started by saying we could be the 'showplace' house in the neigborhhod and get a 'special' discount for doing that, but we were not to anyone how much we paid. It sounded 'fishy' to me. After going through a presentation that lasted over two hours,he gave us his non 'special' price which was 41,000 for 23 windows and then tried to wow us with his 'special' price of 29,808 which included 9.9 financing or 20,688 w/o financing. His 'specia'l price has only good if we signed at that time. It seemed like a scam to me. I would not use this company because I do not believe they trustworthy.

After the order was placed it took 3 weeks for the material to arrive and the work to begin. We were contacted by the installation supervisor to schedule the day the work would begin. Due to some conflicts we had to push the start date by a couple days and no push back was given and the date was set. The installers arrived the morning of job and were very kind. They walked around the job site with me and made sure that we were on the same page before any work began. They did ask if they could site the materials and their tools somewhere on my property so they did not have to haul them for the 2 week job. The job was scheduled to take 2 weeks to complete and they were able to complete it in 8 days which was a pleasant surprise. We are very happy with their work and have had several compliments on our new siding. I will definitely use White Oak again for any future home improvement needs.

White Oaks Construction quoted me what I considered to be a fair price for the job to be completed. It looked to be just a reasonably simple tear off of the old surface and replace with new for around $3700.00. Upon further inspection on project day, we found the entire surface structure and underneath sheeting to be damaged beyond repair and it needed to be completely removed and replaced. Clearly the job was going to consist of much more work than what was quoted for in the original contract. The White Oak Construction manager worked out a very fair solution right there on the spot and they completed my roof that day. The leaks were completely stopped. The job was professionally done and the job site was left clean. Over all I was very pleased with White Oak Construction and will call upon them again for any of my construction needs. It went great. They were phenomenal. This was my third new roof from hail damage and they were superb. They payed attention to the details and really listened well to me.

White Oak canvassed our neighborhood & after two visits with its salesperson and field manager, we signed a contract which included that they could place a sign in the yard, take photos of the house for their advertising, and us agreeing not to tell anyone the actual cost A week later they sent a worker to come and measure the roof a third time and place the sign in our yard, then several days later we told one more form needed to be signed. The field manager we had met came and told us he had bad news that the company owners decided they would not do the job, as they were concerned that there were problems with the roof and they would not make any money; although the contract stipulated that if there were structural issues these would charged separately. We asked for details and were not given any details but he promised to have an answer in the next 24 hours. We heard nothing, so we now figure we were actually lucky to be out of it and wanted to alert others to their practices.

They haven't completed the job yet so I wish to reserve final comment until the job is complete which should be this weekend.

They did a great job. They did a nice job installing it. I'm pleased with the door. There had been a little bit of time between ordering the door and things like that but they kept me posted on the way. I was pleased with them. Their workmanship is an A. I wouldn't grade them poorly in any way. They cleaned up after themselves. They even vacuumed in the house where they might have left some dust and things like that.

The guys Chris and matt were fabulous prompt every day. they were meticulous in their work even stripping some wallpaper that had been on one wall for years. their work was great and my wife and I could not be more pleased They cleaned up every day and put everything back where it had been. We felt so good with them that we were out all day on one of the days, we knew we could trust them to close up and felt so secure with their being in the house alone. I would highly recommend them in future. their prices were competitive but knowing their work ethic and job performance I would always go with them even if they were higher than some competitors in price

They are currently replacing the siding on my house. They are halfway done and so far have bent over backwards to put the siding on my house. They even worked until dark to beat the winter rush. I am very pleased with them and couldn't be happier. I look for the end result.

The windows that were shown to me did seem nice. I am not a windows expert, maybe they do offer the best windows in the business. I have had 2 other estimates since then, neither of which were as long or as pushy. And neither were anywhere close to the same price. (Like 25,000 price difference) My biggest problem with them was how pushy the salesmen were and offered me a price around half off if I agreed to put the windows in the same day. I don't like to make quick decisions without doing my own research first. The guys were not too happy when I told them I was not going to sign up on the spot. I wouldn't use them just because I don't like schemes like this and after they left I realized how much of my day they wasted made me mad. Some of that my fault for letting them. Besides no matter how amazing the windows are, the scheme price was still double the other prices I received. However, to be fair the windows probably are not as high of quality either.

The installers were friendly, courteous and answered any questions I had during installation. They were unable to answer questions I had about the quality of two of the exterior doors installed and no one ever got back with me to address this issue: the decorative panels between the glass wiggle when the doors are being opened or closed - does not seem like quality construction of the door for what I paid.. I have since noticed there is an air gap at the top of the double doors in the sunroom which allows heat, cold and insects to enter. It would be nice to have these issues addressed and fixed.

They finished the job to perfection. They were extremely conscientious, superb, and professional.

First he tried to reschedule since he had scheduled someone else at approximately the same time he scheduled my estimate. I refusedt to change my appointment. So, he came at the time of the scheduled appointment. He went around the outside of the house and measured everything with a wheel contraption and then after much figuring (in his car), he gave me an estimate of $15.000.00 for a house that is 1500 square feet plus a shed in the back yard. This was way too expensive. I had a few other estimates that were about 1/2 of what he was going to charge and if I had them replace my roof, I would have to have a sign in my yard and never tell anyone what I had paid for the roof! This sounded suspicious to me, plus he said I was getting a "deal" with the $15,000.00 price. He said the "real" cost would be approximately double this "sale" price--or about $30,000.00!!! This is a scam company. They are trying to justify charging you a lot for the roof under the guise of using longer lasting shingles (which are in reality 50 year shingles). I got a bid from another company for 50 year shingles at a much lower price. Also, be aware of White Oak as they send people around to neighborhoods and have someone give you a "hard sell" sales pitch. These people are really only the spouse of the employees! Do not answer the door. I listened to about a 1/2 hour sales pitch by the wife of an employee of the company. Using 50 year shingles should not be a reason to charge someone $30,000.00 for a roof. Don't buy from them!!!!!!! I ultimately went with a local company and they did the roofing for me for $8,000.00 and did a great job. They did both the house and the back yard shed for that price--complete tear off.

They put a whole roof on in one day! Very efficient! Work looks absolutely beautiful!! They were very clean, very happy with the work!

Last year we got a quote from them, and they were great to work with. However, this year, when we went to get a quote, they didn't seem to want to work with me. They did give me the quote but didn't seem to want to talk about the details. I had to go with someone else for the project.

We were so pleased! It came out better than envisioned. During the planning stage, the advisor gave us a lot of great ideas and helped us to maintain a reasonable budget, yet still get everything we wanted.Before they started, we knew exactly what we would be getting. White Oak gave us a start date and approximate time to finish and stayed with those dates all the way. The installation process (special kudos to Brock), while hard to be without a bathroom, went extremely well. They were very respectful of our time and privacy. Every evening we came home to find the job completely cleaned up and neat. They communicated every step of the way, either by cell phone or notes, and were easy to talk to. They accomodated all of our requests.

They talked like they were knowledgable, the communication between the company and myself was quite poor. They carpenters did a good job but, there were two pieces of cedar railings that were poor quality. They refused to replace them. I pointed that out to the project manager and he said 'thats what you get'. He said 'you ordered #2 cedar and thats what you get'. I will not use them again.

They weren't cheap but the men that they sent out to do the work were very hard workers. They did an excellent job with the installation and the caulking. I was satisfied with their craftsmanship and the installation. They came, did the work and did it right the first time. I haven't called them back or anything.

When we were doing our kitchen remodel, my husband pulled up the old flooring. Once he did that, we discovered old water damage around all three doors accessing the foyer and kitchen. We called White Oak Construction and asked for an estimate. Dennis was able to come within 2 days. Dennis was prompt and was very helpful with explanations of how the damage happened and what was needed to repair the damage and make sure their were no further leaks from the doors. The workers were prompt and professional. The estimate was accurate and the work was completed to our satisfaction, costing the amount we were told. . Dennis gave us alternatives for repairs to the third door, enabling us to complete the repairs to that one ourselves. He was helpful and answered all of our questions. We would definitely use White Oak Construction again and will come them when the need arises.
