They were very professional and did a great job. They showed up when they said, worked quickly, had padding around all the furniture and put everything back together at the destination. Would definitely recommend them.

Best move ever, and we have done many! Retired military and have much experience at moving. Cost beat other bids by about 20%. Arrangement allowed use of a individual 35' truck and delayed delivery (5 days) at our schedule. Packing and pickup crew were utilized at both ends and they were the best. Highly recommend their service.

The salesperson was very good, answered all my myriad question competently and without telling me I was asking too many! The packers arrived on the date specified, the movers arrived at the destination as specified. The price was as quoted. There was no damage as items were promptly unloaded. I was very pleased...but do urge anyone considering a move to carefully research.

They arrived the first day to pack, were punctual, very careful to properly wrap and box all of our household goods. The second day, they arrived at the appointed time, were very careful to not damage any of our goods, carefully wrapped and handled the grand piano, loaded the truck in the time frame they estimated. They arrived at our destination at the agreed time the next morning and reversed the process. All of the boxes were placed in the proper room, the grand piano was unpacked and carefully reassembled, they protected the new floors with walk cloths, and everything went smoothly. The bill was as estimated, and we were very happy with the overall experience. I would use them again and recommend them to friends and relatives.

The initial meeting with the agent in Las Vegas was fabulous. I was moving my father to live with us and only moving a portion of his belongings. Stephanie was wonderful and extremely responsive to all my questions and requests. The day of move was pretty good and because of the experience up to that point had been wonderful, I choose NOT to get the additional insurance that would covered anything lost or broken. The driver, David, was pleasant and appeared to be thorough. He suggested that I NOT check everything piece by piece using the tag numbering system. (I suspect that he didn't want to be slowed down by the process. This was another mistake I made.) Delivery was HORRIBLE! First, the driver called to yell at me that he couldn't drive the semi in downtown Atlanta. Not true. I explained that only trucks that did NOT have deliveries downtown could use 75/85. Then I had to meet him a few blocks away to help him find the best way to our street. We live in historic Inman Park and the streets can be tricky to navigate sometimes. After finally getting here, the driver yelled at me again (I can't even remember why anymore). He manner was completely combative and negative. Whenever I asked for something, he would yell that it wasn't included. I asked for the washer to be put in the basement and he said that it wouldn't fit (it fit easily when we got some help later). I was watching everything come in the house and when we were getting close to the end, I mentioned that a coffee and matching end tables were missing along with a custom-covered antique chair. He told me that it was in the house and that I had just missed seeing it. I checked the house again, did not find the items and looked in the trailer. I found one of the end tables and box that they would not have brought in the house. He yelled at me for going in the trailer but when I showed him the items I found, he walked away sulking. When the driver asked me to sign off on the delivery, I said that things were still missing. He said that I could follow up later but I HAD to sign the papers right now. When I questioned that, he yelled that me stating that things were still missing on the document wouldn't make a different in finding them and, more importantly, that I was mistaken and they were in the house. At that point, I was tired physically and over his yelling at me. I signed the papers. I called my agent in Las Vegas to tell her of my experience and she was horrified. She said to call and email the corporate office and report the missing items right away. I made a point of going through everything within a day and made an inventory of the items missing. It was more than the visible furniture I noticed. Several boxes containing valuable stamp collections and personal memorabilia of my fathers. I was told I had 9 months to file a claim. I also found 4 boxes containing items that did NOT belong to us. I promptly called the corporate offices to tell them and they picked them up within a week to deliver to the folks missing them. At that point, I was told that one other person with items on that truck was missing things and reported having some of our items and that Wheaton would try to recover them. Since our missing items were probably there, I did not file a claim for 6 months. After well over a dozen calls trying to track down our items, I was told that the other customer would not return calls or emails to recover our items. And that tracers for missing items are never closed until the items are returned, even if a claim is settled. I filed the claim for a total value of approximately $10K. Two weeks later I received a check for $159 (.60 per pound). You can imagine that I was not pleased. I called to express my dissatisfaction and that I really only wanted the missing items. I'm still calling once a month to try and recover the missing items and my father has sent a letter to the president expressing his frustration as well.

A very large (5'X7') antique mirror that they crated and moved for us was ruined. We have been advised by our interior designers that it would cost $40-50,000 to purchase a replacement, IF a replacement could be found. It can be repaired for $20,000. They have offered us $3500 replacement value in exchange for our giving them the mirror! We have rejected this offer and are working with an attorney to recover the appropriate amount for our loss.

packing good. schedule excellent lost one box, guess number 411. Had never before paid for move. They moved everything, the packers did not discuss any thoughts or knowledge. Move more, collect more money. The cost per pound requires constant montering to control cost . Inventory the loading of the truck, check off all inventory nembers. On delivery repeat the check off . One box was lost, not determined for several weeks. What happened? Never was located. Always remember three moves is as good as afire.. Damage was minimal Was preventable, my opinion.

Estimator, liaison person was a delight. Driver was a nightmare with inappropriate flirting, refusing to provide services I paid (full unpack) causing me to have to repeatedly call the main office, and resorting to bullying behavior, as well as treating me in a sexist, "little woman" way. They did refund some money but I would have preferred the service I paid for. I would use them again, but make sure I didn't get the same driver. I think he was retiring which is good for this company.

Wheaton sub contracts with locals. The fellow who moved us was the owner of truck and two hirees. Not enough people to be efficient. Took almost 8 hours to load, arrived at new location in a timely manner, but again took 8 hours to unload. Also talked too much. Wasn't impressed by professionalism in social dept. however did load and unload without damage, knew what they were doing.

The move started well. Brian was very good at coordinating and responding to our questions. The packers appeared to be efficient. The guys who loaded the truck were excellent, they were very careful of our belongings and of the house. Everything went downhill when our belongings were unloaded at our new home. The person in charge had injured his knee so was unable to help or oversee the unloading properly. His help was one quite elderly man and a middle aged one. They obviously had no training. In the beginning, they brought boxes in and put them where we requested. In bringing them in,they knocked blinds off the window and ran into walls ,etc. It was taking too long to unload, they had another job to get to so they started putting boxes in our storage room. I requested they put light boxes on top. My husband and I are in our sixties and in poor health and are unable to lift heavy objects. They piled things to the ceiling with no regard to how heavy the boxes were. Several belongings were damaged,a table leg was broken off,a lamp was broken and we've been unable to find some things. Overall,it went well on the loading end and was a nightmare on the unloading end. We've used several moving companies in the past and on the unloading end it was by far the worst. We would not use this company again.

They ruined approximately $50,000 worth of items and although we purchased FULL REPLACEMENT VALUE INSURANCE, with $0 deductible, it took them over three months to send me a letter declining ANY responsibility. Below is the letter I wrote to the claims adjuster (edited for size), Laura Pritchard when I submitted our claim, followed by her response to me today: September 29, 2013 Dear Laura, Our move was scheduled for 8/23/2013, with an AGREED arrival date of 8/26/2013 or 8/27/2013. On 8/22/2013, while the packers were on the job, the driver called my husband and asked if his team could arrive a day early, to begin loading. My husband answered by saying the packers were there, but they could load what they could. The load team arrived later that day on 08/22/2013 and looked around. After a few hours of waiting for I?m not sure what, they decided to begin loading some things, including our 2011 Sundance Spa. This had never been moved since it originally was delivered and was in perfect/like new condition and still under full warranty. The load team had the packing crew actually move the spa to the curb from the backyard. It was not padded, shrink wrapped or given any protection while it was being loaded or after it was on the truck. It?s no surprise, the cabinet was damaged. From there, they began loading more items. Our house was not protected other than the use of a small, red runner, partially covering our wood floor. Stair rails, door ways, walls, carpets (stairs, in particular) were not protected with anything. Around 4-5pm , they called it a day and said they would be back early the next morning. Arriving on time the next morning, it was raining. Again, my floors were not protected. Our carpeting was very wet and became quite dirty from the constant traffic up and down the stairs. I was forced to pay extra for a carpet cleaning that I already scheduled due to additional areas needing cleaning. That totaled $595.00; it was originally $400.00 As you are aware from a previous claim, a ceiling fan was broken during the 8/23 move day, as well. I expect from your email, that incident will be remedied shortly. Late in the day, it became apparent that they were running short on space. A call for another truck was made and around 7pm, another crew arrived to load the remaining items. Unfortunately, we were scheduled to leave our home that night, in order to take our son to college on our way to Fort Myers. Because the job wasn?t finished until very late that night, we were forced to stay in Cary and make other arrangements for our son. On 8/27, as scheduled, the driver of the first truck arrived at our home in Fort Myers. Again, the house was not protected, other than the red runner. Part of the threshold of the doorway was chipped as a result. During the unloading process, we were never given an inventory sheet to check off the items as they were brought inside (we didn?t even know this was routine until the second truck arrived, three weeks later). We had no idea what, if anything was missing, especially since there was more than one truck. After all was unloaded into the house, we were asked to sign the inventory sheet. The sheets were barely legible and were several pages long. I?m not sure how we were supposed sign off on anything. As of this point, we still had no idea when the 2nd truck would leave IL, much less arrive in FL. During this time, we could not completely set up a single room in our home. There were parts of every room missing and we were hoping they were on the 2nd truck; but we had no idea. This made it very difficult to obtain any type of normalcy. For example, my daughter?s bed was in FL, but her bedding was somewhere else. Her desk was here, but the top of her desk, with mirror was not. Our sofa had only two of four feet attached and needed to remain on cardboard, so as not to damage the material. I was forced to replace the feet. Power cords were missing for various items and could not be used. Most of our bedroom furniture was elsewhere, so we were living out of suitcases. Part our of elliptical machine was here, but most of it was not. No vacuum, not even a broom. No outdoor furniture of any kind. Where were our belongings? We had no idea. We were told they were in storage, awaiting a driver to bring them down to FL. No one at Wheaton or Van Sydow knew when that would be, however. Were items protected from the elements? Was it climate controlled? We later found out the answer was ?No? on both counts. Finally, on 9/13/2013, three long weeks after we left IL, the driver, Paul, arrived with the remaining items and a two-man crew. They were polite, professional and took the extra time to tape cardboard to the floor, walls, and doorways; even placed a bumper at the threshold of the front door, all without my asking. He also explained how they would be calling off tag numbers, so I could check items off of the inventory sheets. Obviously, this was new to me, since this wasn?t done with the first shipment. It was then that he explained the notations on the inventory sheets and any remarks, when they were legible. Many, I still cannot figure out. Paul also expressed to me his dissatisfaction with the level of service we received, including the condition of our items that were held at the storage facility and encouraged me to call customer service. He took a few pictures of how our items were being handled. On the day he arrived, much of our stuff was just sitting out in the sun, uncovered, including my husband?s MAC. It wasn?t boxed or wrapped; just sitting in the extreme heat (the few days when the temps spiked in Chicago). He even called customer service on my behalf while at my home in Ft. Myers. Paul made notes on items that were damaged, not knowing the condition prior picking them up. I do not have copies of those notes. Many things didn?t have tags, as Paul noted, or were tagged incorrectly on the inventory sheets. I have since gone through the first set of sheets and tried to make sense of some of the notes. There are things that are marked ?SO?, ?M? or ?W? that are in goodE condition, even after arrival. For example, there are 8 bar stools (item 157-164) that are noted the same EXACT way: ?SC 6 5 10 12 SO W? With the exception of the broken back on the one stool (on my claim sheet) there isn?t anything wrong with the stools. The upholstery is perfect?certainly not ?soiled? or ?badly worn? as indicated. And how could all 8 be in the EXACT same condition??? Item 311 is a King Mattress. Notes: ?SO? Soiled? I invite someone to inspect my brand new mattress that has always had a cover in place, as well as my bar stools. So, why the remarks? This calls into question several other line items with remarks similar to those. Our spa, for instance, was less than two years old and didn?t have a scratch on it. It has been noted as ?marred, contents unknown.? That?s absurd. It had never been moved and is still under full warranty. Perhaps the way they handled it, placing it on the truck prompted such notation. Our elliptical machine, which has been badly damaged, was noted as ?Marred.? It also, was in showroom condition; having never been moved. Another false statement. They should have photographed such items, with notes such as those. Had I been given the inventory sheets to check off items as they were brought in, it would have been brought to my attention, but unfortunately, that was not our experience. Wheaton came highly recommended to us from a close friend, having used them several times over the years. They never had an issue. We too, have used professional movers in the past and NEVER had a single claim?until now. I am at a loss here. Everything looks damaged, old, worn and just plain terrible, if it?s not broken entirely. I cannot express in words our level of frustration. I am not disputing the dings and scratches that were there beforehand?but there is a notable difference between something like a worn desktop and the back panels being broken. Even our cast aluminum umbrella bases have gouges on them. They were just purchased last October. An item that was used or slightly used suddenly became garbage. There was an obvious disregard for our personal property and our homes. Nothing was adequately wrapped. You can see from the pictures the level of wrapping, or lack thereof, that was provided. The pinball machine was left unprotected on the bottom and dragged on that side, causing severe damage to the cabinet. A repair firm visited our home on 10/28/2013. It took Laura Pritchard and her claims department until today to send me this: Dear Ms. Foss:A review of your Statement of Claim has been concluded.WORLD WIDE MOVINGWe move your life'At the time you received your shipment there was no indication made of loss ordamage. All items listed on the inventory were acknowledged as being receivedin good order and no discrepancies were recorded or reported at that time.Prior to your move, you were provided with our Carrier Liability brochure and abooklet entitled Your Rights and Responsibilities When You Move.
