STAY AWAY if you value your time and belongings. HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE! There are much better moving companies out there. Believe all the bad reviews about Wheaton. BEWARE -> They will NOT pay insurance claims if you buy their insurance. Don't hire Wheaton if you are moving. They have been giving my family the run around, and failing to pay out insurance on $18,000+ worth of damages/lost items since last October, 2024 (8 months now) moving from CA to CO. They tried to blame everything on their local partner who has been fantastic to work with. There is photographic evidence everything was ok when it was loaded. Their driver also tried to charge me for additional/unused/unnecessary services on the day of delivery. They/I have all the documentation proving everything.

I hired WM Meyers Movers out of Itasca, IL, in 2020 to move my Chicago area home into storage for 2 years while my Charlotte area home was being built. I put my trust in the company that touted themselves as “official movers of the Chicago Bears”. At the time, they were not affiliated with Wheaton or if so, it was not communicated to me. Had I known I would have gone with another company as I give good credence to reviews. Move in date was February 15th of this year. Many damaged items were immediately evident and in the subsequent days of unpacking more and more was discovered. Frustrating yes, but at that point I wasn’t too alarmed. Having made several long distance moves, I understand these things happen and why I opted for the best zero deducible insurance coverage offered. After thoroughly documenting everything with photos, receipts and descriptions, I submitted a claim for 16 items totaling $3,200. The claims adjuster upon learning that I had the damaged items repaired and discarded the broken ones immediately called out a excerpt from their terms of service policy stating that “they have the right to inspect and repair damaged articles”. A clause they used to absolve themselves of fair payment despite the indisputable visual evidence. Upon going back & forth with the adjuster, the contradictory feedback made it clear to me they had no intention of accepting responsibility citing “we didn’t have the opportunity to inspect”. Here are just 2 of the many aforementioned contradictions: • 3 of the denied items claimed were observed and noted by the crew chief of the delivery team which to me checks the inspection box. • They did cover 3 items for $665 based solely on photo documentation with no inspection requested. Yet inspection was their sole basis for denying the majority of the claim. With moving and storage, I spent over 40K with this company. They used a buried gray area policy with arbitrary application to save $2,300 from their bottom line. And if this all sounds like just one disgruntled customer going on a rant, check out the 100+ 1 star google reviews and 2 star Yelp rating. That should speak volumes about the integrity of Wheaton Worldwide. Do your due diligence to find a reputable moving company that will treat your belongings with the care they deserve and you with respect.

It takes a whole lot to right for me to write a negative review. This review is 15 months in the making and is only written because I have exhausted all other avenues. Long story made short, after having our belongings stored with Wheaton for 7 months on a move from NJ to SC, many boxes/items lost their stickers which made tracking impossible. In addition, a dryer was damaged in handling causing the heating element to fail. I advised Wheaton of the missing items, they claim their search turned up nothing. So they never really investigated, lost the items, were stolen (there were collectibles missing, not very expensive but personally important) or delivered to the wrong customer who kept them for themselves. Items handled by a company like Wheaton don’t disappear. I issued a claim detailing the items, the value as well as a receipt for the dryer repair based on their insurance claim policy. Wheaton refused to honor the insurance including the dryer since there was no 'physical' damage.. I also issued a complaint with the US Department of Transportation, it has gone nowhere. Their ability to properly manage and store your belongings is inexcusable, and their insurance is worthless. Buyer beware.

Moved us from MA to TN. Extremely professional, with hard workers who were prompt, efficient and trustworthy. Few broken pieces of glassware were the only issues, and that was more due to poor packing than any sort of rough handling on their part. Would use again .House

The guys packing us were great. Very careful and friendly. What I didn't like was they were a little lack in communication on how long it would take to get us moved from our old to new house. We weren't prepared for it. There was minimal breakage, no problem really. I just suggest being more upfront with how long the whole process will take. We ended up having to find a place to stay while we waited. I hope I don't have to but I would use them again.

We contacted 3 moving companies for our move from the Denver-metro area to San Diego County. We especially liked the style of John Golden, the Wheaton estimator who came to our house. We also liked that Wheaton offered a “guaranteed no more than” estimate. On the day of the move, the driver would weigh the truck before and after loading our belongings; if the load came in less than estimated, we would pay that lower price. Other companies appeared to rely more heavily on the inventory filled out by the estimator, with no pre- and post-weighing involved. Since we hoped to get rid of more of our stuff before moving day, we would have had to keep track of what we were eliminating from the inventory and communicate that to the estimator for an adjusted estimate. We had packed up all of our belongings ourselves. Tony, the mover, and his crew arrived on time, worked efficiently and conscientiously, and finished in about 5 hours (as accurately estimated by Tony after he had surveyed the house). Our load was clearly separated in the van from the other loads by sheets of plywood. Tony gave us his card with his cell phone, in case we needed to contact him en route. Wheaton called several days before our arrival with the exact amount to be charged to us (a few hundred dollars lower than the estimate). Tony traveled with our load, stopping at 2 places on the way to off-load and 1 place to pick up another load; he predicted he would meet us at the new house 7 days later. He called the day before, right on schedule despite having had to drive through snow and unload several days in the rain. He and his local crew arrived at the new house bright and early the next day and finished unloading in about 3 hours. The furniture arrived unscathed and all of the boxes were in good shape. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience.

We got hold of Wheaton through one of their providers to do the actual moving. I think it was a fair price. I think their quality was pretty good. Their responsiveness was pretty good. The driver who drove the truck was very good. They did everything they said they would. I think everything was fine. I don't think there was anything they could have done differently. We had a very good experience and we would recommend him.

From the first conversation with Maggie, I knew this was the company I wanted to use. It's a family run business and it was perfect from their first visit to provide an estimate to the last piece of furniture moved in. I read horror stories about other movers and when I first started calling around, I was shocked that I was given a price over the phone without even seeing our house. We donated some of our bulkier furniture so we were thrilled when the cost came in under the estimated cost. The truck arrived earlier than we thought it would. and Sal and his team (with the help of two experienced local guys) got to work. We had a lot of fragile items including a large, glass china cabinet and everything arrived without a nick or scratch. I would highly recommend them to anyone making a move in NJ.

The local van that picked up my furniture and boxes at my 2BR apartment in Columbus was not quite large enough to hold it all. They crammed it in very tightly. A few days after the furniture was delivered in Cupertino I found that a $300 floor lamp had been broken. I think that was probably from cramming it in during the pickup. The deliverers did not mention that it was broken although it would have been obvious to then when they set it up. I did not make a claim since the lamp was worth about the deductible. They put my car (2013 Accord) in the long-distance van along with the furniture. I found a few days after my car was delivered that the right front wheel bearing was damaged and needed to be replaced - a $350 job. Again, that was about the same as the deductible so I did not make a claim. I would advise to buy insurance with a low deductible if you use this company.

The company came out to my house to give me a quote for the move and we settled on a pick up date of 7/17/15. They gave me a window to have my items delivered in California anywhere from 7/23/15 - 8/4/15. On 8/3/15 I was contacted, the first time since my items were picked up, and was informed that my household goods had not left the warehouse and delivery would be late. When I asked when I could expect my items to be delivered, I was informed that they were not able to give me a date and it would depend on when they had a truck, with room, that was heading to California. I expressed my concern and frustration that not only was my household items going to be late, but that they had no idea of when I could expect to have them arrive. I was promptly educated that this was just the nature of the shipping business and that they have to make the most financially sound decision when figuring the logistics around shipping my items. When I inquired if there was going to be any kind of compensation for the delay I was told that given the smaller size, less than 3500 pounds, they were not required to compensate me for my inconvenience, but he would check and see what could be done. As if he/company was doing me a favor by considering giving me anything. I do not hear from them again for another 2 weeks, when on 8/17 I am told that my items are on the way and will arrive the week of 8/24 and the truck driver will call me at least 48 hours before he plans to deliver. At this time I am told that the company will credit me $150 for the delay and that I should be happy with this as they were not required to give me any kind of refund. For some reason the fact that I had a smaller shipping weight, and that I now had my items being delivered to a storage unit (why rent a place with nothing to put in it) negated any obligation for this company to hold up their end of the contract. In summary, I paid around $4800, was refunded $150 for work that was completed 3 weeks late and was told I should be lucky I received anything, and for a good portion of that time no one could tell me when I could expect to have my life's accumulation of possessions returned to me. Aside from picking up my items on the date we agreed, this company did not uphold any other part of the contract in my opinion.
Description of Work: The company was contracted to move my household items from Cincinnati to Southern California.

Well tobstart,Wheaton never told us that there would be a seperate charge for storage so that was a Big $5000 dollar how you do. Then we paid the upfront cost of $10,000.00 to include insurance of $3000.00. Now mind ya this is NOT a Military move this us us the customer pulling money out of our pockets to move and get our Household goods down to CHAPIN ,SC. So this was not a military move covered by DLA from AArmy. The Wheaton Company delivered all of our Household goods with exception of a missing Blow up Party Island Raft and a broken leg on Treadmill and a destroyed Recliner which I am getting too. I filled our the claims form several weeks ago and recently been on the adjuster to make a call after they had someone come out to look at damage. Their assessment after all the time looking at it was this: Recliner: Denied fix or replace due to Driver not knowing if the frame was bent or not. Party Island blow up Raft: Denied replacement or percentage replacement due to at time of inventory on final delivery was not noted as missing ( now how many of you moved and really seen 100 percent all you unpacked?) The Treadmill leg:$20.00 to gix..W**??No one's gonna fix that plastic or replace keg for $20.00. Our inventory sheets were not checked off at final inventory so we are at fault cause we signed the sheets. I counted 6 different times my items were handled from house at origin to final destination .And not to mention the amount of hands who loaded and unloaded my items.Wheres the sign off sheet for them handling my HH Goods while I am not present? So there you have it $18,000 paid.. Claim by Wheato: $20.00.. I say W**.. Please folks you do not need the insurance.Youvare covered under your regular home owners or Renters insurance st 100%. If the Military was involved they would be paying for a whole shipment cause there's nothing checked off. I highly recommend you looking at another moving company if a non Military move. JH/BG

The move went very smoothly from beginning to end. I had contacted several other companies before I found Lake Country / Seneca through a friend's recommendation. I was getting frustrated because the other companies were very restrictive of the dates I could choose and / or pretty expensive. I communicated with Shari, both by email and by phone, to arrange the move, and she was able to answer all my questions and address concerns promptly and in a professional manner. She set up a date that fit into my plans without any difficulties, and the movers came when they were expected. The moving team was superb. Lorenzo was the guy in charge for both the pickup and the unloading. They handled my furniture carefully, for which I was very glad, since I have some antiques. There were a few items that had been difficult to get into my small, second-floor apartment in Cambridge, but the guys were able to get them out without much trouble and nothing was damaged. They really knew what they were doing, unlike some movers I've used in the past. Lorenzo was professional and efficient with the paperwork. They picked up my furniture on a Saturday and were able to deliver it to my new home on Monday morning. (Other companies I spoke with were suggesting they needed a week or more between pickup and drop off.) They were happy to put everything where it needed to go, and the guys asked several times to make sure that everything was done to my satisfaction. Again, they handled all my belongings with the utmost care. I couldn't have been happier with the service, and I would recommend them wholeheartedly to anyone.

My pregnant wife and our two-year-old daughter have been living out of a suitcase for a month because of a Wheaton and Bekins service failure. Our delivery window ended 3 weeks ago. All our possessions are still in a warehouse in Chicago because they can?t find a truck to a major west-coast city. Their national Director of Customer Service, Todd Emrick, has done little more than remind us of the fine print in our contract. Now the meager reimbursement they provide for delays ($150/day) has been capped. Beware. Bekins and Wheaton are not reliable. Worse yet they are not interested in supporting their customers in the event of an exceptional service failure.
Description of Work: We paid for packing and shipping for a move from Chicago to Seattle. We found a local booking agent, working with Bekins Van Lines, who is now a subsidiary of Wheaton World Wide Moving. The logistics of the move, and the customer service once things started going wrong, were both handled by Wheaton.

At this time, I still have not received my household goods from Wheaton, as they are still siting in Bell Moving and Storage Warehouse in Columbus, OH waiting for Wheaton HQ in Indianapolis, IN to find a driver to transport my goods. Bell Moving and Storage were excellent in their services, Wheaton, up until recently after I emailed the Ex. VP; CEO and Chairman of the Board have been corresponding with me daily to provide updates, which unfortunately have been the same song and dance for the past 16 days since our goods were picked up by Bell. I have been compensated, per their standard contract financially since the 8th of June for lodging and food, but have been given no solid estimate as to when they can provide a driver or truck to deliver my belongings. I have been in contact with the supervisor at Wheaton HQ in Indiana, but feel his hands have been tied and that Wheaton executives have dropped the ball on making sure they had enough staff and resources to provide the services noted, as they mentioned that this was the Summer months with a huge contract demand and that they weren't taking any more orders at this time as they couldn't handle their current load. Poor planning from the beginning. This is only my first review, as I haven't received my goods yet and don't know what kind of shape they will be in once they arrive, although I have faith that Bell Moving and Storage did hold up to their end of the bargain. I have been living in a hotel since the 28th of May, paying rent on a house that is empty since the 1st of June, eating out every day because I have no household goods to cook with, moving my dog back and forth from cars, hotel and empty house on a daily basis (she happens to be blind and partially deaf) which has put a tremendous burden on her, not to mention the emotional, physical and mental strain on my wife and I. This has been a complete nightmare. And it all started because the Wheaton representative in Michigan who underestimated the load of the clients before us which subsequently resulted in our load being bumped from that truck THE DAY BEFORE OUR GOODS WERE PICK UP!!!!! Stay tuned for further reviews, as I have already filed a complaint with Wheaton, BBB of Indiana and will be in touch with the State Govt in Indiana on Monday to see what further recourse is due. The only reason they haven't received an F rating on all categories is because the supervisor in Indiana has at least made the effort to correspond with me every day and the fact that the service hasn't been completed at this time. I will review again overall service once my goods arrive in good order at my new address!!!

From the moment that they were contacted by Frank & Sons Moving and Storage until the end of the day on delivery, they were reassuring, courteous, professional and took care of our belongings. Wheaton business office called us a few days before pick up, informed us of the name of our driver and his phone number, what their procedure's were, step by step detail on what would be happening from the day they arrived at the storage facility through delivery. Our driver Mike, was wonderful!! He called us continuously, throughout his whole trip, he was very kind and considerate and a pleasure to work with. We moved into a Townhome inside a small community, Mike had an approximately, 80 ft truck. Mike, had to drive the truck from the beginning of our community, to the back which, was up hills and had many turns to reach our townhome, backwards! I couldn't believe it. He was amazing and was able to park the truck perfectly in a tight space. Mike and his 2 assistants were professional, courteous, respectful and very careful with our belongings. After they had finished unloading the truck, Mike and his 2 amazing assistants, put all our furniture together, set up each room exactly, the way we liked it. Mike, made sure that every item was accounted for and in good condition. The experience from beginning to end with Wheaton Movers was wonderful! I would recommend not only this company but also, our driver Mike and his 2 assistants.

We used Priority One, DBA-Wheaton World Wide Moving. It was just a total nightmare. They were able to get all the items in one truck and the second truck was then lost for two months. It took us a month to track it done. They were not responsive and finally got back to us with email. We were without out furniture for one month. We had to dispute the payment with them. When they did finally show up with the other truck they wanted full payment. They ended up double charging us which was a nightmare. They had damaged a lot of our antique furniture and many other items. We have numerous damage claims pending at this point. They took apart out refrigerator and it is still not put together right. We had a piano that was on rollers and had just had the floors redone and drug it across the floors damaging the floor with large scratches and gouges. We had to then pay $4000 to have the floors refinished. At this point we have numerous damage claims pending with them. They also left many items in the garage at our old place and they had to have those items sent to us and we would not have received them if we hadn?t said anything. Update: we had close to $10k in damage the the hardwood floors and the moving damage to our antiques and other furniture. They disassembled a solid oak Murphy Bed and delivered it in pieces scatters in several different places in my garage, up-stairs, downstairs. There were several missing pieces of adware and the keys to lock it shut are missing. The locking mechanism was distorted. The bed now is bolted shut because it is unsafe and may fall open and slam to the floor. Wheaton the parent company offered me $1,200 minus my $1,000 deduction for $10,000 in moving damage. We are moving to court to recover our damages. Stay tuned. Up-date. Going to Small Claims Court Tomorrow after negotiations failed to come to a reasonable relieve. I am asking for the maximum amount of $10,000. Stay tuned.
