Wheaton World Wide Moving

We had them pack our house, load it on a moving van, transport cross-country, and then unload into a personal storage unit (only because we then made the decision to cut our ties with the company as soon as we could). We got a quote quickly and the person doing the quote was professional, punctual, and nice. Because we were already out-of-state, we had a personal representative supervise the packing and loading, who had minimal contact with the team, but had no complaints. This is where the contentedness ends. We had to delay our closing on the delivery end, and the driver was nice enough to offer us 2 choices of delivery day, and therefore we were able to choose the later one, hoping we'd be ready to unload. We were being told by the bank each day that the closing would be that afternoon, but then it would get post-poned until the next day, etc. During the final 3 days of this process, we were in regular contact with the driver, who was very nice and friendly, but understood that the unload destination was not confirmed yet, though we knew the latest date possible and were prepared for that. We were, however, constantly hounded by the moving coordinator with Wheaton by phone, and in a very rude manner, regarding where our items would be unloaded. When I explained that we hoped it would be in the house, but couldn't confirm that yet, as the closing date kept being moved. We requested a quote from her to use Wheaton as the storage service and then have them deliver to the house. The quote we got, just to unload to storage, and then redeliver was another almost $2000 (the total estimate for the move was only $4000. Due to the high price, and the extreme rudeness over the phone, we decided to just get a personal storage unit and have the Wheaton team unload and end our ties there. During the unloading process, we were very disappointed to see what a paltry packing and loading job they had done. I had sofa cushions laying freely on the floor of the moving van. I had an iron piece of artwork (thin, bendable) completely without a box. They chose not to "pack" multiple plastic storage containers that were holding items in our storage room. These containers are for storage and not for moving. It was our understanding that they amount we paid for "packing" meant they would put all our items in something appropriate for the moving van. Therefore, we had 5-10 of these storage bins completely crushed and contents, in several cases, spilled out. Two of these plastic storage bins contained Christmas Tree ornaments, which were stored in small nests of tissue paper. They did not re-pack these items, but just left them in the ornament storage boxes, without additional protection, and didn't even tape the storage boxes shut. I therefore saw the box come open and ornaments spill onto the moving van floor while the team was unloading. Needless to say, there was much damage to my Christmas Tree ornaments. Regarding the unloading, the driver hired a local 2-man team that was very good, though a bit slow. The driver then did a bit to pull things down from heights in the moving van, but didn't get off the van to help with unloading or placing at all, choosing to just sit and wait, instead. The unloading into the storage unit therefore took 7 hours. To give some perspective, the company we used to move our items from the storage unit into our house took 5 hours overall (3 man team) to load their truck, drive to our house, and unload the items into appropriate rooms and unbox mattresses, etc (including placement of a piano on the upper floor of the house).

They took great care of everything we moved and they were very courteous. They were prompt and they came under budget. They also gave us a refund for the difference. Everything they said they were going to do they did. I would highly recommend them to anyone.

They were running late when they came to load our furniture, but they called in advance to let us know. They brought a sufficient crew to complete the loading in one day. They were careful and professional. They arrived on May 12 to deliver our furniture promptly. They were equally careful and professional delivering and assembling the furniture as required.

I had good service on the front end, and I was under the impression that they were the ones who were going to make the move. I told them I would not have anyone here to check off items as they came in, which they said was fine. Unfortunately by the time I was able to unload and check everything off, I found that there were several things that were missing, and several that were broken as well. However, because I had signed the papers there was nothing they could do, no apology or offer to make it right. They apparently changed drivers twice and changed trucks several times because I did not have a full load. The first one hinted that he needed a tip. The second was in a hurry and rushed me to sign the papers because he had another load. I was very unhappy with their service and would never use them again. Update: After my complaint a representative from Wheaton called and talked with me. The insurance I had signed for did not cover the damages incurred. I realize that but feel better that I was contacted and an apology made. Personally I would not use Wheaton again but my experience may have been unusual.

Everything was great. We expected them to drive overnight and deliver the load on Saturday, but they then had a cancellation which meant they did not have to hurry. Instead, they decided to deliver the load on Monday, and then compromised by delivering on Sunday instead, which did cost us another night at the hotel. However, they went above and beyond and did pack up a lot of things that we had not asked them to pack initially, which I really appreciated. They charged minimally for the additional work, and I was happy with their service.

It was great. They had a problem with their truck, which broke down on the way down here, but they kept me updated each day and let me know the progress. They were very careful with all of my things. Their prices are a little high, but they did all of the packing and brought all of the supplies. They packed it up in one day and everything was neatly and concisely done. They cleaned up after themselves, and it was a very good experience.

They did an outstanding job. Their prices were quite competitive, and we were very very happy with them.

Excellent! From working with Todd Emrick at the start of the move to delivering to my new home, the process was wonderful!

They were prompt, courteous, and did not damage anything either in the house we were selling or the house we were moving into. The two men who moved a sofa bed into our new basement for us didn't even scratch or smudge the wall. I would recomend them.

Everything was wonderful, and the service people were great with the packing. Everything went very smoothly, and there was no damage to our things. They just went above and beyond board with everything. We will call them again in the future if we need to move.

The packing date changed a couple of times, but contents were finally packed a day early, on 8/14, causing me to use a borrowed blow-up bed. I wasn't able to watch the entire packing process as I had errands to run, etc. They estimated my load at 7200 lbs. and packing was complete within 4 hours, everything from partially used bars of soap (I found while unpacking) to largest furniture; pretty quick I thought. At any rate, I was given a range of dates for delivery, Aug. 16th through the 24th. I had to start work on the 17th, so paid for a hotel until arrival on Sunday, the 23rd. When load arrived and as the setting up of furniture and the unpacking began, I was horrified. The screen of my flat-screen television was shattered. Items were tossed into the bottom of hanging wardrobe boxes without regard to potential damage (2, fairly expensive silk floral arrangements were ruined because the packers just folded them in half and put in the bottom of the wardrobe boxes, covered them with other items, and finally hung clothes.) The footboard of my guest room bed was scratched and scraped. The wood veneer was scraped completely off one of the legs of my master bedroom dresser. Several items, such as vases, trinket boxes, etc. were wrapped in articles of my clothing!!! Pieces of furniture that needed reassembly were not done, even after I asked. One silver mirror had the corner chipped off. I could go on and on, but as to the delivery men - they were courteous, but one in particular took SEVERAL breaks, leaving cigarette butts all over my driveway and lawn. They used my bathroom and failed to flush. They banged the walls repeatedly while bringing in furniture and larger items. They seemed to be finished and gone before I could turn around. I would NEVER, NEVER use this company again. In fact, I will go out of my way to steer other potential customers away. Oh, and lastly, their claims dept. offered me $180.00 for my flat screen TV!!!!

The company was great from the moment I first called. They were able to accommodate our schedule giving us a great pick up date. The drive called us a few days in advance to let us know when he would arrive in Virginia. He even was able to change the delivery time by a day to help us out because we had just returned from the hospital from having our daughter. The drive was careful, considerate, and very easy to work with as he unloaded the truck. The crew in Indianapolis also did a great job. I would definitely use them again.

It was a very difficult move, but it was excellent. It was upstairs and downstairs and involved over 13,000 pounds of household items including a baby grand piano. The movers were completely professional and not one item was broken during the process.

We got several quotes and everybody was ready to negotiate. Wheaton interstate moving was very competitive and they came up with the best price. As a result they had to cut short of some services. They did not do few things which they should have. We packed the things and they loaded them to the truck. They transported it, unloaded them from the truck and brought the boxes inside. They did not wrap our mattresses though they were supposed to do it. That was one ting that upset me. They just put blankets on them and tucked them in the truck. One good thing is that they were ready to negotiate and they were the cheapest. Initially theirs was the highest quote and then they came down. They did a good job overall.

They did very well. There was no damage to the stuff, and they kept their delivery commitments. It went very well.

As above. Would not use this national van line. And would give them a D for not telling the entire story. An F for the insurance purchased. All their trucks say Weaton Van Line and are outsourced to independent truckers. Find a good independent trucker and do not deal with this party.

The lady that came out was very nice and polite but we could not afford their estimate. ($13,729)

Other than the driver who was a nice person, this entire debacle was a nightmare. I am hesitant to recall it. There was practically no item that I had them move which was not damaged. They completely ruined a very expensive Venetian vase that when I called for them for compensation, they told me I should have it glued back together. They offered me a total of thirty five hundred dollars for the entire mess and this didn t even cover the cost of replacing the vase, let alone the eighty five hundred or so dollars I had to pay them for the move. I will never use this company again.

They were great. They were responsive, on time, very informative and helpful. They were very polite as well. I would recommend them to anybody.

THE PACKERS WERE WONDERFUL, THEY DID A TERRIFIC JOB. THE MOVERS HOWEVER WERE NOT AS GOOD BUT STILL DID A VERY GOOD JOB.

Wheaton did everything they said they would. They were very prompt and real good with their insurance claims. There were two things damaged in the move and they paid for the damage without any arguments. They showed up on time and I felt the price was reasonable.

They were very punctual. In fact, they were waiting for us.

THEY WERE WONDERFUL. ONE THING WAS BROKEN IN THE MOVE, BUT I GUESS THAT IS SOMETHING TO BE EXPECTED. THE MOVERS WERE CLEAN AND PROFESSIONAL. WE HAD USED ANOTHER BRANCH OF THIS COMPANY FOR A PREVIOUS MOVE AND THIS ONE DID BETTER THAN THAT ONE.

I WOULD SAY THAT THIS COMPANY WAS GOOD. THE MEN THAT DID THE JOB WERE ALL YOUNG AND STRONG. THEY ONLY BROKE A LAMP, BUT IT WAS NO PROBLEM. THEY GOT EVERYTHING DONE WITHOUT FIGHTING AND LEFT RIGHT AWAY. I WOULD RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY.
