Description of Work: I purchased a big deal for Wellman Exteriors Inc, for gutter cleaning.

Description of Work: This provider responded to our initial request promptly. The person came out to talk with us and look at the area to be cleaned. He gave us a ball park cost and promised to come back with a firm proposal. This never happened. The representative did not call, send written correspondence either by US mail or email, or return to our home. We feel that we were written off and discounted as potential customers. Because of this gross lack of professionalism, we would not recommend this company.

Description of Work: I had a coupon for $400 worth of service for $199. They came and said they could not take down the big tree I needed to be felled, but I had other smaller trees to remove. They did the tree work in a non-professional manner, without adequate safety gear, like helmets, safety glasses, and ear protection. Their climbing method was to climb around in the trees like a kid would, without proper shoes or boots. They wasted quite a bit of time and burned up the time allotted and then told me I needed to give them another $100 to complete the work I really need to be done. Their last job was to take down a dead tree which they climbed and put a rope on it and tied it to the back of their truck. they then cut the tree and pulled the tree over in the direction of the road that the truck was on. It looked almost funny to see these "professionals" doing this tree work like a bunch of grammar schoolers.

Description of Work: we purchased two of the deals on Angies List. $400 worth of work for $199. First we got grief for purchasing two deals. Apparently there was a limit of one, although there was nothing in the deal about it, and it let us purchase more than one. We showed them what we would like to have done. Trimming several trees, removing 1-2 small trees. I was shocked at the total estimate! We told them to just do the trimming up to the $400. We got very little trimming for that price. I felt like we got about $200 worth of trimming, if that much.

Description of Work: Scheduling the work was problematic. Did not show up for first scheduled work date. Did show up appropriately the second time. Price (can't recall the amount, but seemed to be a good price at the time, as have had tree trimming done many times in the past) seemed very reasonable. Work was done in man hours, i.e., total time purchased was divided by the number of workers on the job. Our job worked out to be 1 1/4 hour of labor total. Had to make on the spot quick decision about which trees were to be trimmed. Did a reasonable job on the trees. Asked for estimate to do more work on a return visit; estimate not given. Might have scheduled more work but original scheduling was difficult ( no show), so probably won't use them again, which is too bad, as the company does many different types of exterior home maintenance work.

Description of Work: They stained a new cedar fence we put up. They arrived late the first day because they were finishing another job - but at least they called to let us know. The two man crew did a good job and their pace was acceptable - considering the heat. I appreciated their good job of cleaning up. There were a few spots that I had to go back over - but I would consider using them again. The $800 + included the stain.

Description of Work: This was an Angies Big Deal (4 hours of tree service for $199) and I called to see if I could use my 4 hours to have a mass of English ivy removed from a large tree in our yard, and as well have a couple of small limbs removed. The dispatcher/rep on the phone said yes, but explained that they had limitations of only being able to go up 40-50 feet and I agreed that that would be fine. We set an appointment for 10/25, but no one showed up on that day, nor did anyone call from Wellman. I called the next day and the dispatcher/rep was not even aware that no one had shown up or called. We set another appointment, and on that day I had not seen anyone by about 1:45 so I called and left a message with their answering service that I was expecting them. I happened to be out in my yard about an hour later and an unmarked truck pulling a trailer full of branches drove by, went to the end of our dead block and drove by again...not even slowing down or saying anything to me. About 4:30 I received a call from the dispatcher/rep saying that their crew had "inspected the site" and had said the tree was too tall for them to do the work. He explained again the 40-50 foot limitation, which I reminded him we had discussed and I had agreed to (40-50 feet would have removed probably 90% of the ivy) He offered to send them again and we set another date, but it was fairly obvious that they did not really want to do the job. Shortly after hanging up, I called back and proposed that we just cancel the appointment, and I'd like a refund of my $199. He readily agreed, and informed me that I would have to go back through Angie's List for the refund. This was not at all the type of service I expected from a highly rated Angie's List contractor. There is no excuse for them being a no show for the first appointment, especially without even the courtesy of a phone call, and the "drive by site inspection" with no contact, and the subsequent late in the day call was definitely not professionally handled. I had asked in my first call if they wanted to come by and take a look and give me an estimate, but they chose not to. If its not something wanted to do, I guess that I can understand that, but I certainly was not pleased the way they went about handling the entire process.

Description of Work: I had a large tree to be removed and a few trees which needed to be trimmed. I had a Angie's deal for 4 hours of work. The crew showed up on the correct day but I was told that the large tree was too big to take down in the 4 hours. I told them about all of the work that needed to be done which was done & the large tree was trimmed. They came at 1 pm and were leaving at 2 pm. I told them to cut down as much of it the large tree as possible and to tell me what else could be done but I was told that they would just do it another day. I was promised that they would give me an estimate in the next week. They were in too much of a hurry to leave so they just left. The work that was done did look good & the trash had been hauled away so I decided to give them one more try. I followed up on the estimate but it was never done. I was given a date plus a rain date on the same call for a crew to finally give me an estimate. They even canceled the rain date though it was a beautiful sunny day because they said they were too far behind. I did get an estimate on another day, weeks after I was supposed to, but I decided not to use the company. They were losing me after shorting the work hours & lost me after making me wait for an estimate which I was interested in to see if they would right the situation. If they had worked the remaining 3 hours due to me. and had been more interested in getting me an estimate on the appropriate remaining work in a reasonable amount of time, the company would have landed on my list of home contractors to contact again & again.

Description of Work: Purchased a big deal for 199.00. Contacted them several times, they responded twice telling me they could not perform the services because it was suppose to rain. Said they would contact me the week of 17 September to schedule a date to come out. I have emailed them with no response. I have not heard from them since the last call. I would like to have my money refunded so I can hire someone else to do the services.
