I feel like I can depend on them. They give advice that I feel is safe and in my best interests. They have a system that repairs holes in my duct work. I have never had any problems with them and I would highly recommend them.

** UPDATED ANGIE'S LIST REPORT ** In October, 2017, we hired Thiele to install a new 96% efficient Bryant HVAC system ($7,900) -- which required new piping in the attic. We filed an initial Angie's List report, thinking the install had gone well. Since then, we have found a major problem in our attic and would NOT hire them again!! Two technicians were here on the day of the install. All indications are that 'Tony' did an excellent job installing the actual furnace. Husband had some specific questions and concerns, and he explained what he was doing throughout the process and answered all of his questions. 'Josh' installed the new pipes in the attic -- and this is where the major problem arose. What led us to discover the problem: We have a ranch-style home. In January, we heard a dripping noise in our attic. Our attic is quite accessible so Husband went to investigate and found water dripping from the furnace exhaust pipe on several seams. While looking closer, he found the air intake pipe completely separated (the 2 pieces that were seamed together had come completely apart); see photo. We do not know when these occured. Husband immediately contacted our salesman at Thiele ('Boone'). (Because we knew 'Josh' had done the work in the attic, we asked that he not be sent back, as it was clear we could not trust his work!) They sent a technician the next day ('Keith'). He was told he was only there to fix the leaking seams. Husband told him that instead, the entire pipe probably needed to be redone. When the technician wiggled the exhaust pipe, it came loose ... literally in his hand ... and dumped enough water to soak the drywall in the attic. The pipe was holding water because it had been installed at the wrong angle. 'Keith' reglued the intake pipe that had come loose and repaired the leaks in the exhaust pipe -- and changed it to the proper angle for correct drainage. It was apparent that the pipes were not glued together correctly. 'Keith' added a whole new section of pipe to correct the problem. So far, we have not seen additional problems -- though we are still uncomfortable about the situation. A few days later, Husband went back to the attic to be sure nothing had come loose again. He discovered that during the course of the repair work, the initial caulking on the outside penetration had been pushed out and had not been reapplied. He texted their Service Manager. Within a couple of days, they sent someone out to fix that. (It was 'Josh' -- who we had asked not to be sent back here. And, he came about 5 pm -- and never called or texted to let us know he was coming -- and didn't let us know when he was finished!) During communication with Boone, he told us that this is not typical Thiele work -- and told us the Owner was aware of this situation. We have received NO followup from anyone to see if everything is still OK. Since this is is our first experience with Thiele, it 'is' their typical work to us!

With furnace trouble on the coldest day of the year, I had some difficulty finding a service company that would send someone out that day; everyone wanted to schedule something two or three days later. Thiele, at least, could send someone out within 2-3 hours. The repairman confirmed what we suspected, that the pressure switch was the problem, and he also was thorough in inspecting the rest of the system to make sure we could rule out other potential problems. For him to even check to see if the part was in stock, though, would have cost me $150, and the repairman said there was a 25% it would be in stock. So we decided to wait a few days. This happened on a Saturday, and he said they'd check back in with us on Monday about how we want to proceed. Well, the company never called. I was charged the standard $119 service fee—what they charge if they come out—which was, of course, fine and expected. But I was also charged another $119 by accident. The company reversed the charge, but they had my money tied up for about a week. That's $119 I didn't have access to in my checking account because of a Thiele employee error. That, after the business of not checking back in with us, has left my wife and I pretty frustrated with this company. We had them install a new furnace and AC unit at our previous residence about 3-4 years ago, and a few different things weren't right with that process, too.
Description of Work: Furnace was short cycling, and then stopped working altogether.

Mr. [Member Name Removed], 1) A (B) on punctuality when in your words "other companies wanted to schedule 2-3 days out" and we had a technician out in 2-3 hours seems unfair. 2) Thank you for saying we were thorough in inspecting your furnace, we sent a NATE certified technician (highest certification for HVAC) to your home. 3) We did not under any circumstance say it would cost $150.00 to "see if the part was in stock", supply houses charge us a fee to unlock the building on weekends and after hours. We do not mark this charge up we simply pass the charge along to any consumer that wishes to pursue the repair after hours. We cannot control how the supply houses work. 4) Our records indicate that when we called to schedule the repair, the repair was declined. 5) we did in fact accidentally run the card twice, the second time we ran it at 10:04am and we reversed the charge at 1:10pm the same day. I do apologize the error, it truly was simply human error. If you feel any of what I have stated to be untrue please do not hesitate to reach out as I will make myself available. 317-639-1111. Very well. I am getting a free quote for a new furnace and possible AC. My family can rest better knowing the furnace will last for a while.
Description of Work: Tune up. The tech gave a very detailed explanation of what he checked. Fortunately all was well. He did tell me about a minor concern and agreed it was small enough to wait through the winter since it was operating fine overall and did not affect there furnace's performance at this time. He also gave me information on what to expect in the future since my furnace was older.

As they indicated, It took 2 installers all day to remove and replace the units. When complete they walked through all the systems, instructions on the thermostat, and a final checklist. Very professional team.

My ac had weak air flow and called them. They sent someone to my house. The first tech guy came, added dye and coolant. We were charged around ~$400. Then later, another guy came and did nothing asked for ~$100. He also gave an incorrect quote for repairing. In contrast, we had other company's tech people came. He diagnosed the problem and didn't charge me anything. He said since we were already charged adding dye and coolant by previous company they don't want me to be charged twice.

He left and my air conditioner has not worked since then. I called the company and told them he didn't put something back or he broke something the air was not running at all. It's 82 degrees outside and 85 INSIDE my house. The Best they could do was send someone out TOMORROW and CHARGE ME A SERVICE FEE of $119.99 to do it. Note, I called at 2:45 in the afternoon, but they were ALREADY BOOKED but when i called to give them a MONEY job they got me in RIGHT AWAY. I will NEVER use this company again.
Description of Work: 1.0 star rating 7/14/2017 If I could give them zero I would. I had them come to do routine service on my air conditioner as my husband said they were a good company. The technician came out and showed me IN WRITING that my unit was in good shape and all I would need to worry about down the line was replacement of the coolant. I was fine with that.

It is true we performed a tune-up on the air conditioner. Customer called us back the next day to say the air conditioner was not working and we did schedule for "tomorrow". We should have scheduled for the same day. We screwed that up. We did call back on the "same day" to get her in the same day schedule (no answer/message left/no call back) but only after it was brought to my attention. I sincerely apologize for the delay. It went well. Jason Braun is a member of the Thiele family and he stressed the history of the company (since 1883!) which was very interesting. He examined the old unit, and we discussed things I had found out about air conditioning in the 21st century. He gave me the price for the Bryant model with a 16 SEER rating. The warranty on parts and labor which he offered was excellent. Ultimately I went with another company, but I wanted to say that my encounter with Jason was a good experience. I will call on them for a bid when the next thing in their portfolio needs attention in my house.

They serviced my air conditioner every year, and they always do a very thorough and excellent job. They had a service person named Mike Jefferson come out, and he was very component and did a very nice job. Now the air conditioner is working fine, and I will continue to have them service my air conditioner and furnace.

Inspection was prompt and the problem was quickly identified. The issue was corrected right then and we went ahead and had a full routine maintenance during the same visit. The whole visit took less than an hour and the technician was knowledgeable and had helpful tips on preventing future similar issues.

My daughter was living there at the time so I'm guessing a little bit, but she didn't seem to have any problem. They seem to come when they said they were going to and were on time. I think the fellow that worked with me on the estimate in identifying everything that we need, because we actually ended up doing several things. We replaced the air conditioner with a heat pump and we ended up doing a hot water heater at the same time, so it turned out to be heating, air and water heater. He was very easy to work with.

I called Thiele early 7:00am on the morning of January 7, 2017 because I was not getting any heat in my house. After getting no reply I called back around 10:00 am and finally got a call back and a tech sent out around noon. After assessing the furnace I was told that the heat strips were broken and that they needed to be replaced. The tech called the office and was told that they would have to get the part from the warehouse and it would need to be opened and would cost me $100. Told them to go ahead. Once everything was working the tech collected $100 from me and told me the parts were under warranty. I asked if there was any other charge and he said no. A week and a half later I got a bill for $677.00. Called and was told that the parts were not under warranty and this was the charge. I was billed $119.00 for the diagnostic evaluation and $558 for the repair. I asked what the parts cost and what the hourly rate was but was told that he couldn't figure it out because they have a computer program that tells them the flat rate for this service. The tech probably didn't even spend more than 1-1/2 hours making the repair. As I continued to try to understand the high cost I was told that if I had waited until Monday then the evaluation cost would have been less. I was charged more for the weekend! They didn't even apply the evaluation to the cost of the repair! I was told that this was very typical for the industry. On a cold day in January I didn't have any choice but to have the repairs done but was never told anything about the cost except the $100 to open the warehouse. Such a poor way to do business!!!

This 2006 furnace was clearly out of warranty (as I discussed with Ms. [Member Name Removed]). The $100 to open the supply house is our direct cost (there is no markup). When she said to "go ahead and open it up" that is what I did. I, John Traub (the owner) in order to expedite the repair went and picked up the part myself and delivered it to her house. I remember the day vividly...I was at my house when the technician called me in need of getting the supply house opened. Since I and my wife have known Ms. [Member Name Removed] for about 35 years I personally handled the situation. We do have coupon that will waive the diagnostic fee but (and it states this on the coupon) that coupon is for normal business hours. So yes there was a diagnostic fee charged. I am hurt and disappointed by the review. I suppose "sometimes you just can't please some people".
