+ -1 moreI called Terminix the afternoon that I found the mouse scurrying in my kitchen and they were able to treat my house the next afternoon. After a thorough walk-through of my basement, first floor, and attic, we thankfully determined that it had gotten in from my back door being opened with the screen door closed. The entire house was treated and traps were left for any future "visitors". It is a one year commitment, but worth the investment.
Description of Work: I had an unexpected and uninvited guest in my kitchen, a mouse.

Description of Work: They came out to take care of carpenter ants, spiders and other insects. We have a termite plan with them currently so we had them come out for pest control as well. We joined a service plan with them, the cost is quarterly.

+ -1 moreI have been using their services for about twenty years. I do not like their turnover. They always seem to send someone different. I stick with them because I get it a lot cheaper for being a long term customer. Otherwise, I would not because they are inconsistent.

+ -1 moreWe have a service agreement with them for spraying bugs and also for termite inspections but that is not included in the price above. They are prompt and contact me before they come. They always have been real courteous, kind and accommodating. We have been using there services since 2001.

+ -1 moreThey came out the next day after we called and sprayed. Then the sales inspector came out about 4 days later and did the inspection and advised us about the termite protection plan.
Description of Work: Sprayed for carpenter ants and will return quarterly for 1 year. The price includes other "pests" except termites. The cost for termite coverage was an additional $279/year, which we also took advantage of because of our location (wooded area). Total for year service contract was $458.

+ -1 moreI am not currently happy with my termite service. I signed a contract to have Terminix come out 3 times a year at an annual rate of $390.00. During this time I have experienced problems with some techs not even showing up. I have also witnessed the tech arriving at my home and not even getting out of his truck to check the bait. During the 4 years that I have been using Terminix, they have yet to check the basement which is required by state law. Customer service is often very poor. I will say that I have had satisfactory work from some of the rep. The gentleman that completed the last inspection was very thorough. The manager James is very responsive and tries to resolve any issues that come along. Your experience is determined by those who you deal with at that time. At this point I am not satisfied and will be looking for another company for the future.

+ -1 moreBilling and customer service was poor. Due to a bank error, a check was posted incorrectly and Terminix only cared about getting their money. They blamed me for the error (it was the bank's error). I submitted a letter to the corporate office and got no response.
Description of Work: We had a contract for 3 years with Terminix. The service was good. Although, they would often show up unannounced. They came out repeatedly to try to correct a bug problem.

+ -1 moreWe've been happy with them. They're good about coming out. They have a program where if you pay for the whole year at once, it's a reduced price. We will continue to use them.
Description of Work: They come out on a quarterly basis to do pest control, specifically for ants. They are really good. If we see any ants after they have come out, they'll come back out again to take care of the problem.

In addition, the service person, Ron Esselborn, has been excellent at giving us advise to help keep our home insect free.
Description of Work: Annual insect control for our home. We are almost complete with our second year of coverage. Since starting the service the carpenter ant infestation has be eliminated as well as keeping all other ants, spiders and hornets at bay. The service person has been excellent at giving us advise to help keep our home insect free.

I've had a little trouble getting a hold of them lately as their phone number sends you to a main national line with doesn't then transfer you easily to a local office. I'm assuming their pricing is in line with other companies but I don't have anything to compare it to. I will continue to use this company.
Description of Work: I have a contract with this company. They spray around my mobile home quarterly for bugs. If I have any problems during the year I just call them and they come back out and re spray inside or outside.

+ -1 moreThey've been servicing our house for the last few years. They usually come every 3 months or so to spray (it is quarterly service) inside and outside. I'm usually here when they do the work, and this time happened to be home sick. They rang the bell at 9:50 am, but I did not answer the door because I was sick. I just looked out the window to see who it was. I watched him walk around the side of the house and then walk right back out to the truck. He didn't even have a canister on him or anything. He filled out an invoice showing that he was at the house from 10:02-10:20 and sprayed and hung the bill on the door. He did not spray and actually left at 9:55. I called the office, and they said they definitely would not charge me for the service. I pointed out that there was no service. I won't be using them in the future.

+ -1 moreTerminix bought the smaller company that originally provided us with termite baiting service. They did not raise the price at the time of conversion, which we appreciated. We live on a heavily wooded property and there has been previous termite activity in the house. Since we have a well, the cheaper chemical treatment is not an option. (People who consider purchasing homes on wooded lots should be aware of the need for this costly protection against termites.) Terminix has provided adequate service, although their workers have trampled some of our plants. They also never responded to a request for an in-home re-check.
Description of Work: We use their subterranean termite baiting program. They have installed baits all over our property and check them quarterly.

+ -1 moreI contacted this company because I had a mouse problem (which I still have). They came and sprayed my house for bugs and provided mouse traps. The bugs which were not a problem are gone, but I still have mice. I could have purchased a lot of traps for $300. I had them back on several occasions and they never even caught a mouse. Finally, one of the serviceman told me that they do not do well with rodents. Then they should not advertise that they eliminate mice.

+ -1 moreWhile Sandy was polite, she informed me that I had to notify them with 30 days notice to terminate my contract. She stated that the contract that I signed with Silver Creek obligated me to that. She did cut my invoice in half to $38.79 and I did cancel my contract, effective immediately. I will also write this off to a good lesson to pay attention to the fine details, but I had assumed that since I had not made my original deal with Terminix, that once my 1 year obligation was fulfilled, that would be it. It is common sense to me that since I did not originally select Terminix, that they should not assume that I wished to continue the contract. Had they been proactive on 2 things, I probably would have stayed with them; 1) Schedule their visits with me to accommodate treating the interior of my house, and 2) Communicate proactively with me and get my consent to extend the contract beyond the original 1 year time period.
Description of Work: I originally signed a one-year contract with Silver Creek Pest Control for pest control spraying inside and outside my house. Mid-way through the contract, Terminix bought Silver Creek. The 2nd half of the year that Terminix had my contract, they did not call to schedule an appointment, as Silver Creek did, and would show up, spray the outside, but not the inside. I called Terminix after their 2nd visit of just hitting the exterior of my home. They informed me that if I wanted to have the inside treated, I would have to schedule that, otherwise, they would do the exterior only. This is a primary reason I went with Silver Creek and not Terminix in the 1st place. So after my May service (which is the only service that I had them treat the interior of my home), I had fulfilled my one-year contract with Silver Creek and subsequently Terminix. Then in August, I got an invoice on my door for another exterior treatment - $77.58. I called Terminix and spoke to a lady named Sandy.

They said they had called but not being at home, I did not get the message. I made the appointment for the termite inspection, and they showed up 5 days later and said that was the date they had.

+ -1 moreWe do not need their service at this time which is very reassuring. Mr. Stafford is knowledgeable and explained thoroughly what the risks are here in Indiana. He covered all the options if we decide to sign up for termite protection in the future. Terminix is a www.upromise.com member, and if we do sign up and pay with a credit card, money will be put into my niece's college account.
Description of Work: Rian Stafford came out to do a free termite and pest inspection. The amount of $1.00 was not paid. This report would not accept a price of $0. Termite protection would be in the ballpark of $1500.
