Terminix - Indianapolis -Termite & Pest Control

After a bit of a misunderstanding, Terminix called and remedied the situation. I am very pleased with how the manager handled the situation. I would recommend them to friends.

It is a continuing program and I wasn't ready to pay the amount they wanted. They wanted a base and then a monthly payment. I have only gotten one estimate so I don't know how they will compare to others. The initial sum was $1,200 and after that it was $200. They were only here an hour and I couldn't tell about them.

We have a service contract with them. They did a thorough inspection of the home when we first got them. We have been pleased with their service. We haven't had any type of insect infestation in the house. Everything has been well up to standards for the service. We get the same technician that comes out to the house every few months. He is a really nice gentleman and he does a great job. We really enjoy the service.

Overall, I was happy with the work. All the termites are gone but the ants are still around. We may have to have them come out and spray again. Its nice having a contract with them to you don’t have to pay per treatment. I will continue to use this company in the future.

He was prompt on his proposal. He answered all my questions. They were very responsive. I was satisfied with the quotation. I found out that I did not need to have the work done after all.

I've had them for about 10 years. We needed the service and they have been good. They come out monthly and do their job.

We have had Terminix insurance for three years. The only complaint I have with Terminix is that they are slow. Termites were found on the outside wall of our garage on May 7, Jim Cahill came out to reinspect a week later, and then there were a few times when someone was to have come out to begin treatment to stop the main problem and they just didn't come. Jim Cahill came out himself and began the early treatment, then in June a Terminix rep came out and did the entire garage and outside of our home (per our contract). Before Terminix sent out the second company to repair the damage, they made sure the termites were gone! Terminix sent out a company to repair/replace damaged wallboard, studs, insulation. The company was very professional and did a terrific job, was very neat, polite, and cleaned up any mess they made. I have NO complaints. I've checked around and, besides the no show problem (one of the employees was fired), Terminix was excellent. Bugs are gone, garage back to original condition (except we've cleaned it finally), and we feel like our home is once again bug free.

I don’t think they are worth it. We live in area where we have a lot of spiders here. It seems we can’t get rid of them. The guy who comes here is nice and gets his job done. However, we cant get rid of the spiders. Whatever they use and do is not working. I think they need to change. The guy is here when he says he is going to be here.

I have used their services for years at different locations. They use simple and easy treatment. Their treatment has been effective till date. I like their services and will use the same in future.

In between if you call them, they come out and do the treatment. They are professional. They come when they are supposed to. They are easy to work with. They schedule an appointment according to your convenience. There might be someone cheaper than them but I would not switch. I would use them in the future.

They have been pretty basic. We used them when we moved back into the house last fall. They came in before the furniture arrived. We were moving from overseas and things were all torn up when we came. That was really good because he could get right up into the floor boards and everything before the new carpet and tile went in. It’s about $120 a quarter. They were flexible when we were moving. They were able to come in before our floors went in to do a really good treatment.

Honestly, I am not sure about what I like or dislike about them. We live in a wooded area and we have a creak in the backyard, and we are susceptible to getting bugs and ants. They just seem to take care of things and have done a good job by keeping all that at bay. I don’t interact with them much because they used to come inside but now we’ve gone to just having them treat the outside of the house; so they just come when its time to do the service. When I see them I just wave and sometimes I don’t.

We have been using them for about 10 years now. They come out and spray 4 times a year and they keep things under control. They charge $500 per year. They are extremely patient and diligent. They do what they say they are going to do. The quality of work is good. If there is a need, I would use them again in the future too.

The technician who was putting in the insultation put a hole in our ceiling. I called Terminix and they said somone would be out the next day to look at it and get it fixed. Then it became a back and forth of phone calls and promises. Then I called them recently because we have a spider problem. We are going out of town today, so I called last week and they said someone would be out yesterday. When they never showed, I found out after calling that we were never on the list! They had us scheduled for the 13th, but had noted with that that we were going out of town on the 8th. Even the gal in the office admitted that this did not make any sense. They were supposed to come out this morning, but they never showed! We are done trying them and will use one of the highly recommended names on Angie's List now!

. They are reliable. When you have an old house you need to have termite protection. I would continue to use them in the future.

They are very punctual, they will call you a day or two ahead to remind you when they are coming. They are here when they say they will be. They don't bother us, they just go about their business and leave an invoice on the door knob. We haven't used anyone else.

They will be coming out again. I spend about $119 every three months, which works out to $40 every month. They are easy to schedule. I can schedule the appointments online as well as over the phone. If the online scheduling does not work, they will call you to work something out that will fit within your schedule. They come out when they say they are going to. One of the things that I like about their service is that I can pay them $40 a month and they give thorough general treatments. Also, they also come out free of charge in case there any issues in between the sprayings. It is included in their fee. I have had them out twice between sprayings and I did not have to pay anything extra for those visits. However, I wish they were a little cheaper. I will definitely use them again in the future.

On the day of inspection, my appointment window was coming to an end and I call Terminex for a status update on the arrival time of the inspector. Five minutes later, I get a call from the inspector (David Johnson) telling me that he will be running late and that he should be at my home approx around 4pm. The inspector arrived 45 minutes late. The inspector looked in my dirt crawl spaces. One of my crawl space did have a PVC pipe that extends into the area. The inspector did not show any concerns about that PVC pipe. After the inspection was done, Mr. Johnson explained to me what will be done, which chemicals will be used, and so forth. He assured me that the job can be done without any problems. Mr. Johnson was having technical difficulties with his handheld device and was unable to print out the work order schematics. He later send them to me for my review. After the inspection, I joined Angie's list days after to see what other customers had to say about Terminex. Even though Terminex was rated a "B" grade, I felt that the inspector did an "ok" job taking his time to see where there was active termite activity. Now that I was an Angie's list customer, I did see a coupon offer from Terminex for a 10% discount for termite services. Hey, 10% off is a good deal. I called Mr. Johnson to let him know that I accepted the estimate and would like to schedule an appointment for termite treatment. Mr. Johnson was happy that I chose Terminex. I also informed Mr. Johnson that I did join Angie's list and there was a coupon offer from Terminex for 10% off termite services. I asked Mr. Johnson can I apply the coupon offer to my termite treatment cost. He agreed and gave me the new estimate reflecting the 10% discount off. We scheduled a new appointment to have Mr. Johnson come to my home so that I can sign the contract and give a 20% deposit down payment. When Mr. Johnson came to my house, he wanted to check my crawl space with the PVC piping because he felt that there maybe an issue with debris removal. Mr. Johnson did view the crawl space from the entrance and reconfirmed that debris removal will be an issue because the pipe is in the way. Mr. Johnson explained to me that he needed to call his manager/supervisor about his concerns. Mr. Johnson walks into his car and makes his phone call. I'm inside my home and thinking in disbelief, "WOW, I think the 10% coupon discount is the cause of his changing his mind to cancel this service because he will probably get no commission on this sale". This just amazes me that during the inspection, there were NO apparent concerns. Mr. Johnson advises me that the job can be done without any problems. He mentions nothing about the pipe being an issue for debris removal. Now that I have mentioned the 10% coupon discount, all of a sudden the job can not be done. While Mr. Johnson was making his call in his car, I went outside to suggest if it would be possible to have someone who was doing the actual termite treatment to come to my home and see for themselves if this job can or can not be done. I wanted someone to see for themselves is the PVC pipe in the way. Let the person doing the termite treatment make that decision. I also suggested to Mr. Johnson to take a digital picture and send them the area of concern. After his phone conversation, Mr. Johnson explained to me that, "sometimes technicians makes mistakes." HUH??...did I hear that right? If Mr. Johnson "sometimes" makes mistakes as a termite inspection technician, I think he's in the wrong business. I was embarrassed to hear that from him. I was happy that he told me because I surely do not want a company that will possibly "make a mistake" on my home. I guess Mr. Johnson was set from the beginning to cancel this job as soon as I told him I printed out a coupon offer for a 10% discount. I truly believe if I never used the coupon, this job would of been done. This is also a shame because I was about to plan future services with Terminex after the termite treatment. They surely lost a future customer. I am happy to say that I will be using another termite company that has inspected my home. They informed me that the PVC pipe is not an issue. =====================UPDATE 5/26/2011: After submitting my initial report on Terminex a few days ago, I did get a quick response back from the branch manager. I've spoke with the branch manager about my concerns and was amazed how Mr. Jim Cahill handled the situation. Mr. Cahill actually took time out of his way to meet me at my home to review the situation regarding the PVC piping which may have been an issue of obstruction during the debris removal. He was very professional, courteous, and respectful about my situation. He explained to me what can be done to get the job done right without any problems. We have resolved this issue and I will be using Terminex in the forthcoming future. I have to say, Mr. Cahill went the extra mile to resolve the problem. This type of generosity to customers is rarely found in many businesses; and Mr. Cahill's customer support is above and beyond great. His level of commitment is to make sure the job is done; and done with the level of care as if I was part of his family. I will definately tell my family, friends, and neighbors about Mr. Cahill and Terminex in Indianapolis on their great customer support and service.

They come out four times a year. It's convenient for me to have a service where I don't have to wait until I see them after a call. I pay them yearly. If I see a bug or anything in between their services, I call them and they come out and deal with it. I don't think there is anything they can improve upon.

I’ve used them for years. I’ve been with them for every single house that I’ve owned. When I lived in town years ago I had raccoons in the attic and I called another exterminating company, I thought they were too expensive. So I bought my own cage and luckily the police department would come and take the animals and free them away from your home. They provided that service and I just did that on my own. I’m on a contract with Terminix. I have paid them for the year although I have had few issues with them. I’ve had problems with carpenter bees and they wouldn’t get on the ladder and put powder in there which is the only way to get rid of them. They sprayed from the ground and it’s not doing anything. I’ve read in the magazine where this woman had to have a pest control company come out and use powder in the holes to stop the nesting and Terminix won’t do that for me. When you pay yearly, you get a discount from them. I had an issue with them regarding that. They did not give me a discount when I paid them for the year. When I found out about this, I called them and then they gave me a discount. I don’t know if he didn’t think of it or anything, but they took care of it. Last time when I was supposed to meet them, another gentleman had made an appointment for me between eight and ten. He didn’t show up. He told me that it was between ten and twelve and I told him that I wrote it down. I told him the other guy called me and we made the appointment. He apologized and I had to leave because I couldn’t stay. He said he would be outside and charge me for half the visit. I made a trip out there which is an hour and a half one way, and stood out there for two hours and I have no bathroom and no heat. It was cold outside and I had an hour and a half trip back home. He got there after I left because I had already waited for over two hours. So he just sprayed the outside and I wasn’t happy about that. I would use their services again in the future.

The work has gone very well so far. We have very few problems with insects. We bought the house unknowingly and we were living on an ant farm. They helped us take care of that problem. They are very professional and courteous. I have had good experience with them.

They are extremely responsive to my request. The technicians are very professional. I would use them in the future.

They come out four times a year. It's not up to me to remember that it's time for my pest control because they call me and let me know. They also have automatic filling. Overall it went well. If I can't be home, I let them in, I'll be out and if I need something from inside they take care of it.

They come to my house on a quarterly basis. They had the best price. It was several hundred dollars less per year than other companies. When I've been here to greet the technician, he always lets us know if there are any problems. If I have a problem in between times, they will come right out. They have been out 3 times, and have been very consistent. Michael Baldwin is our technician.

They were very responsive, they came when they said they were going to, they did everything they said they were going to, they followed up, and they did a good job about explaining what they were going to do. I had a lot of rodent activity outside around the bird feeders and they did a good job with that. I think they are pretty expensive.
