SHS Pool & Spa Service

Took sides off hot tub, complained about the difficult access being near the deck (isn't that where you want your hot tub?), told me critters were in there, many leaks, only solution was for him to pick it up with his cool equipment, move it to his shop and fix everything $ 3500 while there, but $ 3600 when he sent proposal via email. Also offered to buy it for $ 500. Lots of fast talk. Asked him about checking the leak in our swimming pool, he said that cost $ 500 and he didn't want to do that until we did the hot tub. THEN I Got a second opinion from Sundance Spas - fixed a broken pipe while there on first visit by the drain (called 5 hours before) for $ 197 - good as new. This guy was playing me. I know he works on other tubs in the area - pretty disappointed about his lack of integrity here.

We are very impressed and satisfied with the work performed by Elden and his assistant. On his first visit to evaluate what we needed to have done, Elden was very thorough and informative as well as making good suggestions on how to proceed. The company's price estimate was prompt and complete, and the service was quickly scheduled. The new pool heater is working very well and the rerouted plumbing makes our access to the filter system much easier. We have been pool owners for a long time, and we are so happy to finally find a pleasant, knowledgeable, and efficient company to work with.

The owner was very pleasant to deal with. Very honest and we will be working with him to try and figure out what we need to do to get our hot tub running. UPDATED - see comments above - Learned that this guy was not honest or at least if he thought he was being honest that means he did not know what he was doing. I would not recommend using this company.

Excellent service - they did all I ask, and that's deliver what they said they would do, and at a competitive price. Eldon showed up when he said he would for both the estimate and the pool service. Proactively communicated status updates between quote acceptance, through completion of the work, and even followed up after the work was done to make sure everything went ok. Very pleased with the result and the professional service.

He was educational, explained everything, was quick and efficient.

We acquired a hot tub that we were unaware was not working. SHS came out on 3 separate occasions, the last time on a Sunday, to work with our "problem child" tub until they were able to fix it. They were always on time, dressed very professional, and were very courteous. We always have a lot of kids around and the owner went out of his way to humor them with his truck horn! (they loved it!)Their service was fantastic, and they exhausted all other options before finally deciding we needed knew parts. Most companies seem to want you to just spend as much money as possible, but SHS was truly customer oriented. The owner came himself to replace the parts and came on a Sunday afternoon because he knew we had been working on this tub for awhile. He was extremely knowledgeable and was able to fix the problem quickly and cleaned up after himself when he was finished. I would highly recommend SHS Pool Service, and their parent company Super Handyman Services for everything!

Elden was great. Fast, efficient, and knowledgeable. We are first time pool owners and have no idea on how to care for a pool. Elden opened our pool for the summer. He took time to explain and teach me how to care for my pool along with re-clipping the liner in place and taking the water out of the pool light. We have since hired him to repair one of our employee's spas and are looking forward to working with him on putting a spa in for us.

They're reliable and they're thorough. Professional, courteous, they're all good words.

Eldin is wonderful to work with. He is very responsive and does a great job.

My only problem with Eldon, who has been servicing our hot tub for the 7 years we have had it, is getting a response on the first contact to set up the appointment. Other than that he is very professional, friendly, and knowledgeable. This time he was even a few minutes early for the appointment and went straight to work. When a leak was discovered there was no "we will have to come back". He went to Royal Spa, purchased the part needed and repaired it the same morning.

This company has the equipment to do jobs that others cannot do. Eldon explained all the repairs he knew the spa needed, as well as possible things he could not see until he tore it apart. He was up front about the costs. Although it seemed expensive, the only alternative was removal and start over which ultimately would have cost far more. The weather was dreadful so the job took longer than expected, but that was certainly not their fault.

All went very well. They arrived on time and explained to me what needed to be done. The next day they installed new filters. I was very impressed with SHS and have asked them to continue maintenance on the spa each month.

The owner, Elden, was present for the entire process which involved 5 on-site visits. Our pool had leaked to the ground water level over the winter and looked like a disaster. I was worried to the point that I considered a large truck full of dirt. Elden's re-assuring manner and in-depth knowledge eased my concerns completely. He definately measured twice to ensure a perfect fit. The pool is up and running today with no problems that I can see. This pool is 23 years old and this is the 3rd liner so you can imagine the state of the floor etc. I'm confident that I will see many more years after SHS's outstanding performance. Elden and Sarah his wife obviously care a great deal about their company and therefore are an outstanding choice when it comes to your pool. By the way...it is an inground vinyl lined pool.

I used this company last season and have already signed up for this season. This will be our third year with him and I pay by the year. My overall experience has been excellent. Every once in a while if something goes wrong it is a call. The owner has come out himself on weekends to fix something. If I have an event or something and need it fixed he will come. He does have assistants, but Eldon himself is just phenomenal.

They do a great job! I like that they even clean the cover, so it looks nice. Elden knows a great deal about the various chemicals that are needed and how to keep the water in balance. I gave "professionalism" a "B" because sometimes the guys don't always look like someone you would want in your yard, but Elden has now provided them with bright blue shirts with the company logo and this has helped identify them to our neighbors who were skeptical at first. Elden is polite and easy to contact by phone, text, or email. He has been very responsive to our needs.

SHS, Eldon did a great job managing my expectations. He diagnosed the problem and visually showed me the issues. He also walked me through what needed to be done and the total cost before starting the repairs. In addition he identified other issues and educated me on the impact if I did not repair soon. No pressure to purchase the services and additional repairs he recommended. He was clearly very knowledgeable and skilled. His pricing was fair and comprehensive. He did not nickel and dime as well providing additional services like cleaning and repairing a leak at no or little charge. I would use SHS again and they are now my go to for any future hot tub repairs.

Removed all side of tub and check all areas for possible leaks after he repaired the main leak.I fell sure it will be good through the winter.

They did an exceptional job. Everything they said they were going to do they did. I would highly recommend them.

.Great, no major problems. Eldon was easy to work with, he used a couple of guys to do the heavy lifting (sandblasting etc..) Sandblasting created a mess but they cleaned up nicely. He also closed the pool for the season. He was pricier than the other bids but overall good value for the money. They hauled off old equipment as well. Timing was perfect, weather held out and they were able to get in an out in a reasonable time frame. less than a week. The ultimate test will be how long the paint job lasts, it had been 10 years since I last painted the pool. I probably should have repainted a couple of years ago, so if I get 7-8 years before peeling I will be thrilled.

It went well! No problems, even though it was a challenging job! It involved disconnecting the tub, draining it, and moving it onto a trailer to be hauled away. It had been installed into some decking so that was also removed. It went very smoothly.

Wonderful work. The best opening that we have had. The wood bench is wonderful.

Everything went very well. Eldon was very prompt with everything, his guys spent a very long day getting the job done. Eldon also came back to finish up some details. We are very pleased with the result and would definitely recommend this company to anyone.
