The response to my request to check the water damage was very quickly and just as fast to start the drying process. The communication throughout the work being done was very professional which was a breath of fresh air. When they removed the fans and other tools, my wife was sick and in bed. They were so considerate and quiet removing their items she didn't wake up. The workers were top notch. Thank you.

My home is now unfit for human habitation. Service Master by F. E. S. came into my home by another Contractor who I cannot name at this time due to litigation with but they are their subsidiary, to perform work after a Fire Feb. 19th 2015 and while in control of my home they did not ensure the safety of my home and all of its contents. This lead to them flooding my home because they did not provide any type of heater to the garage nor shut off water nor any other type of measures considering it was well into the negative temperatures and so my pipes burst and the water glass filter on the water softener (they called me Feb. 25th 2015 to tell me, your house is flooded and within 15 minutes I made it to my home to find no-one at my home which I felt that that was odd) and as I'm already on phone with insurance I step into flooded water to try and get at least some of our baby and wedding albums out of water. As I stood in water I quickly realized that there is a great chance I may be electrocuted so I made it to the panel box only to find that they had not shut off the electricity after supposedly arriving at my home and finding it flooded. Roughly 15 minutes goes by before they arrive and some guys start getting to work and they did not put down any protective equipment to ensure the upper part of the home where they are going in and out of was not receiving damage after the fact. For 43 days water sat in my home, also allowing moisture to ruin sub floors and right after the flood they removed a downstairs toilet which lead to category 3 water damage; fecal matter mixing in with all of the water and getting all throughout home and all throughout crawlspace and refused to properly fix the problem by either not removing things that should be removed, or getting all of the content out of the home not just after house fire/ and smoke but now also after the flood that they caused, the toilet was never capped but they put few small pieces 4 in long to cover the toilet pipe thing that comes up from floor which connects to toilet. Each time their workers flushed toilets (which they never brought out porta potty) to my home so their workers could use but instead decided that they would use my facilities and not just that but in every matter that they used water it was backing up more sewage water into home and they finally sat me down at my own kitchen table after weeks of supposedly trying to get water out of my home. And they told me your insurance isn't going to cover us to leave the air scrubbers and all of our equipment in our home and so we are going to be getting them out of here and they did. Mind you I had complained so much throughout the process of either things not being done correctly or to what we believe to be correct from a standard moral and sound person who has been through enough in life...from my own eyes...served in the United States Marine Corps and now being a disabled Veteran who has 3 wonderful children (one of whom almost died from house fire), service dog, which became very sick after fire, and a wife who took care of me throughout surgery after surgery after surgery and on...) but of course any one of you out there who knows what its like to go through this because you have been through this in at least one of the situations. You know that all we wanted was to get back into our home and by that I mean a home that is safe, sound, and a healthy environment. So after firing individuals I had almost two of every type of inspection or estimate and I talked to Health Department and Builder Inspector and anyone else who would able to give professional opinions, perform work, and or be able to support in either way after coming into my home and doing their own tests and examinations to find out what is all wrong...over $173,000 in damages was just one quote. Our home is Unfit For Human Habitation by the Health Department and has deadly molds throughout all of home (one of the most toxic...I'll let you look it up...starts with an S). This ultimately lead to myself becoming more sick as well as my kids who were no longer allowed back inside by Dr orders. My family has had to move 13 times already, are in my opinion homeless and financially crippled (I sold tractor, all equipment, and anything else to make money to pay for things. There are many things else but I only have so much time but to whom it may concern, my family and I tried to resolve these issues through another avenue and they ultimately backed out because of a reason that I find most despicable, disgusting, in bad faith, and it hurts me deep deep down to even say but they felt that because of an A rating that was on Angie's List that they need not be apart of resolving this issue. I hope and pray that they will understand that each night they and theirs leave work each day and get to home to A HOME that ...MY FAMILY STILL TO THIS DAY IS NOT ABLE TO GO HOME (My home needs torn down and rebuilt to make safe, sound, and healthy), MY FAMILY IS BROKE, MY FAMILY IS NOT EATING A HOME COOKED MEAL, MY FAMILY IS NOT SLEEPING IN THEIR OWN BEDS, AND LAST BUT CERTAINLY NOT LEAST MY FAMILY ONLY ASKED TWO THINGS OF INDIVUALS WHEN THEY CAME INTO MY HOME AFTER ALL THIS STARTED; AND THAT WAS PLEASE IF YOU WISH TO SMOKE ONE CAN GO ANYWHERE ON MY PROPERTY BUT PLEASE NOT IN OUR HOME AND SECONDLY, I KNOW THIS MAY BE A FEW WEEKS BY WHAT THEY WERE TELLING US IN THE BEGINNING AND ALL I COULD ASK IS THAT YOU DO A GOOD JOB AND DO IT THE RIGHT WAY. AND THEY TOLD ME TO MY FACE, "DON'T WORRY MR. .... WE WILL TAKE CARE OF YOU!

It went well. They were able to make a difference in the stain, but we decided to purchase a new chair. We took the chair to them and they unloaded it. When cleaning was complete we picked up the chair, and they loaded it. They were courteous and professional. I do not remember what the charge was, but we felt the price was fair compared to other providers.
Description of Work: Provider cleaned a recliner that had been cleaned professionally a month before by another provider. They tried to remove flea meds that had soiled the chair. Our 110# lanradoodler rubbed flea meds on the side of the chair. They were able to remove a considerable amount of the stain that the previous cleaning had not removed. However we decided to purchase a new chair

Great! My insurance company recommended three service providers and we used Angie's List to make our final decision. I was pleased to see that they had an 'A' for water mitigation as compared to the other two who had 'C' and lower. When I called them, they arrived on-time and began the restoration and drying process immediately. They came out everyday to check the progress and to make sure that everything was drying properly. They removed laminate wood flooring, cabinetry, foam padding, a soaked ceiling, etc. The best part - they cleaned up the debris afterwards! The guys were courteous and very professional. We highly recommend using them.

Words cannot describe the unprofessional unnecessary treatment we received from this company. On 9/18/2014 Our basement - approximetally 1100SF 5 rooms flooded due to our sump pump failing. We went to Menards, purchased a new sump pump, removed the old one and put the new one on. We kept the old sump pump and the receipt for proof of purchase. We contacted our Insurance provider and they recommended Servicemasters F.E.S. the Insurance Company sent an assignment to Servicemasters at 6:23p.m. The service tech contacted us at 6:31p.m. and arrived at our house at 9:36p.m. They was very professional explained the procedures and told us the dryers would be in our house until Monday morning. 72 hours at the least.... On Friday 9/19/2014 our insurance adjuster contacted the service tech and questioned their decision to not discard the carpets and to consider recategorizing the flood damage. This upset the management team at Servicemasters and this is when the unprofessional unnecessary treatment to the client comes into play... Saturday morning 9/20/2014 at 11:39 a.m. The service tech shows up he is upset and telling us about our Insurance adjuster contacting him and explaining he discussed this with his managenment team and they was not happy they felt the Insurance Company was going to try and make them liable for the carpeting. The service tech proceeded to remove all the equipment with no explanation and said the basement was dry . He said he would stop by to pick up the release papers later because he had somewhere he needed to be by 12:30 and told us we could just leave them on the front porch. At this time we went downstairs and realized the basement was still damp. He never showed up to pick up the papers he called Sunday morning and I informed him we was not signing the release papers because the basement was still damp. On Monday at 1:00p.m. Our adjuster came over to complete a walk through. We explained to our adjuster that we are not privy to discussions between the Insurance company and the contractor and they was extremely upset and had removed the equipment after 31-32 hours while their was still standing water in spots and the carpet was still damp. The adjuster took pictures and told us we could get a second contractor to complete the work since Servicemasters left our house on Saturday and on Monday had made any attempt to offer any resolution to our complaint . We contacted another provider they came out removed the baseboards and set up dryers. Bob Brummett contacted Dwayne On 9/26/2014 to discuss a resolution to our complaint ...so we thought ..later we would find it was nothing but an attempt to gather information on us that we was being deceitful...We provided Bob with information on our new contracor,s findings willingly. Bob also contacted us on Monday 9/29/2014 to see if we would allow Bryce Beller,Owner/Operations Manager to come assess the situation we also agreed to that. Bryce came in investigated our basement and came to the conclusion that we had another leak in our HVAC Unit and that is why the carpet was still damp when they moved their equipment out of our house, that explains the standing water. Wait what ... We informed our new contractor of Bryce's conclusion and told them we would investigate. After careful investigation we notified our new contractor and informed them we found the other source.. There was none just an attempt by Servicemasters to justify removing their equipment due to bad management decisions before the job was complete.. We received an email on 11/21/2014 from Bob Brummett that was accusitory and untruthful about me and my husband's integrity and that we was responsible for payment. Not at any time did we say we wasn't going to pay this company for their services however we did say Servicemasters should take some responsibility in the fact that they did not fulfill there obligation to us as promised. What I care about is MY HOUSE and whether it is left suseptable to MOLD.. not the distrust between Servicemasters and the Insurance Company. #UNPROFESSiONAL #UNNECESSARY TREATMENT. GOD Bless You!! Response from SERVICEMASTER by F.E.S.
At ServiceMaster by FES, we pride ourselves on satisfied customers and doing quality work. As evidenced by the predominance of our reviews, we do this very successfully. We take seriously concerns raised by our customers and would like to address the issues raised in this review. As indicated by this customer's review, both the customer and their adjuster wanted the carpeting removed. Per standard business practice based on the water loss type, we did not remove the wet carpeting, but instead removed the pad and set drying procedures per IICRC guidelines. The adjuster was told we would be happy to remove the carpeting if she would send over written approval to do so as this is outside of standard practice, but she said she could not do so, so we proceeded to follow the guidelines. Failing to do so would potentially make our company liable for the cost of replacement. If this was upsetting to anyone, it was not ServiceMaster by FES. Per our records, the job readings were dry to standards on Saturday, 9/20/2014, so of course our equipment was removed. When we receive a new customer, we mail a letter to them thanking them for letting us provide services for them and requesting that if, at any time, they are not satisfied with any of our services we are providing to immediately notify us of their concerns. This letter was sent to this customer. Also, when we make the initial job contact, we leave with the customer a Recovery Guide which explains processes for services and answers some questions. In the back of each of these guides is the business card of our Owner and Operations Manager along with his direct contact information. A guide was left with this customer. Although provided with the preceding information, this customer did not reach out to contact our office or our Owner to advise that they had an issue with services provided or afford us the opportunity to come back to address their concern. On Monday, 9/23, one of our techs called the customer to request picking up the signed completion forms. It was then that the customer told the tech they would not sign the forms and the job was not complete. Our records show that messages were left with the customer later that same day and again on Tuesday, 9/24, requesting a return call regarding their concerns and about the completion paperwork. On Wednesday, 9/25, after another message was left for the customer by our office. The Mr. finally returned the call and advised that he still had water damage, but had already gotten a second opinion and had another company doing dry out work. They had begun their work that day. In our endeavor to do our due diligence to address the customer's concerns that we failed to properly complete the dry out from the sump pump failure, we did review the records as provided by the Mr. from the other company. Also, we did revisit their home on Monday, 9/29, and we did find evidence of a leak from the HVAC unit and took photos of the same. This information is also supported in findings in the reports of the company who did the second dry out. It is our position, therefore, that we had, in fact, properly completed the water mitigation from the sump pump failure. The ensuing water damage the customer experienced was from a second source that was also unknown to them at the time we did the work from the sump failure, but which, according to the paperwork of the other contractor, was addressed and resolved by the customer after our re-inspection. That being said, we did send an email to the customer reiterating these facts back in November along with the Final Estimate and request for payment. It was not intended to be defamatory to the customer in any way, but to explain our position in expecting our contract to be honored. We do apologize to them for any misunderstanding on what was said or the intent thereof. The customer forwarded the November email to their insurance provider and the provider again contacted us. After discussion, we resubmitted the Final Estimate with their requested revisions. Per the insurance company, they paid the customer for the claim in November, so the customer was not out any out of pocket expenses for the work we provided.
